Mini Baby Bottle

Hi,
I'm back with one more tut- A baby bottle. We need a ear ring back , a clear pen, birthday candle holder and clear plastic card.

Make a hole in the center of the holder as in img below.

Trim the stopper as in img below. Make sure it passes through the center of the holder.

Cut the pen which is of holder rim radius, as in img.

Now cut a transparent plastic card and glue all the parts as in img and its ready. :-)

P.S: It may not be that much cute, but this tut will definitely give you an idea how to do it.

Mini Screwdriver

Hi,
I my mini world, tutorials I mostly make are also mini(short). I like doing things from found objects . As I am not making any dollhouse or room box, I am doing things randomly which come to my mind , when I see some (found)objects. This is one among them.
This is a mini screwdriver, which is made with only two objects, a toothpick and a paper pin. Actually, these two are my tools for making minis . Now using these two, I will make a mini tool:-)

Cut the toothpick as in img below. We will be using the center part.

File this flat on top and rounded at bottom.

Make a hole in the center using a pin on the flat top.

Now,take the pin and file the pointed end a little and flatten the edge a little with a hammer as in img below.

Cut the round head and apply glue to it and insert in the hole of handle we just made. Let it dry completely.

That's it. Happy screwing:-)

Headphones

Hi,
Need a headphone for your doll?? My doll wanted it. So thought of making one. I made this with found objects and the result came... so good. I liked it.

Let's start. We need two grey tablet blisters, a bottle ring(cut it to open), a wire came with price tag of a dress, two rings of blister size(i used dress adjusters), a thin sponge(came with some packing), black cover(we will be using very small piece), scissors, glue, file(use it whenever smooth edges are required), some air hardening clay(optional), black color.

Next imgs will explain the procedure.
Trim the edges of the blister as in img. While selecting the blisters n rings, make sure they are of the same size.

Cut the tag wire as in above pic. The center part will be our mic.
The arrangement of the parts:

Now make a small hole in blister and insert the wire. To fix it in place, i'm using clay or u can use m-seal.

It looks as in above pic.
Now the head band part. Take the bottle ring and mark the required size and cut it as in below imgs.

Now cut the rings, to insert band as in img below.

Cut two circles out of thin sponge and color them and head band in black.

Let them dry.
Now cut two thin strips of black cover and glue it to the ring and let it dry. Take the dried sponge circles and glue them inside the ring and the tablet blister on another side. Before gluing the blister with mic, check with headband(by inserting in the cut portion of ring ) and adjust the mouth piece before gluing the blister to ring. Mouth piece and ring (open side) should be on opposite sides. See the pics below.

Now insert the headband from both the ear pieces through the open part and glue it in place. You can even insert before gluing the blister to ring. See the img below.

Let it dry completely. That's it.. Headphones are ready for ur doll.

Smiley Ball

Tennis Ball

Hi friends,
I'm back with one more small tutorial :-).. A miniature tennis ball. We need one small thermocol ball which we use in balloons(this is barbie scale), greenish yellow thread, glue, scissors, toothpick and tweezers.

Cut around 1 meter length thread and fold it a number of times as in pic.

Cut through the center as in pic.

Now start cutting very fine pieces, it should look like powder

Now draw the pattern on ball very lightly with pencil. You can take reference from net or a real tennis ball. Now apply a thin layer of glue outside the pattern using toothpick. Thick layer of glue may mess up the ball. Now using tweezers arrange thread powder on the ball.

After this press it gently so that it will fix tightly. Make sure it shouldn't cross the line and the line shouldn't show up.

Now make another line leaving space for white as in img.

Now apply glue and thread powder as in above steps. White part should be clear. Let it dry. That's it tennis ball is ready.

Service Bell

Hi,
This mini service bell is made from found objects. I used a gray tablet blister, Paper pin, small bottle lid and a small pipe.

I have marked the lid in black to cut to the required height. The pipe should let the pin inside. Trim the blister as in image.

cut the lid and mark the center and insert the pin in center to make a small hole. paint it black and allow it to dry.

Mark the center of the blister. Now insert the blister, pipe and lid respectively..Cut the pin to required length and seal it with m_seal at the bottom.

That's it. Keep it on your miniature counter. Have a nice day:-)

Table clock

Hi guys,

Today's tut is table clock with found objects. I used tablet blister, a rubber band kind of thing(v.flexible and got width which matched the blister size), adjuster, 0.5 pencil lead, paper, black color, glue.

The blister in above img is trimmed one. Clean it with a wet wipe. Now insert it into the rubber ring as in below img.

Now take the adjuster and cut it as in img. I used the close part as base and glued it.

Take a white sheet and draw a circle with outer rim radius and two more with inner radius. These two circular discs should fit in the clock exactly. So now we have three discs.

Now glue one big and one small disc together and paint it in black.

Now take the third disc and mark hours and center. Now take pencil lead and make two small pieces, one for hours hand and another for minutes hand. glue them in center. After drying , glue this to the colored discs. I cut three discs, so that depth inside the clock reduces. You can use one disc too.. but you have to trim the blister to smaller width.

Glue this to the back of the clock frame, we made before.

Its almost done, We can add a botton on top and a time adjuster at the back and a small piece of rectangular cut white sheet at the back to indicate cell area.

That's it. Hope you liked it. You can make it more interesting by taking different blister shapes or using metal shades like gold or silver for base, top and back portions. Have a nice day :-)

Food Processor

Hi guys,
This is an interesting project. I couldn't stop myself from posting. I'm posting it in WIP stage itself :-p
Material list:
Found objects: Oral-B brush protective cap(it has a open at the back and a small cut at the bottom)
4 paper clips
deodorant cap
ear ring stopper, metal part not required. We can use plastic ones.
an empty pencil lead box
Any strong card or cardboard

Glue

Using cutting pliers, cut paper clip as shown in img below. We will be using left side part. Make four like this.

Glue these four metal pieces as in img below.

Now remove the metal part from earring stopper or else use a plastic stopper. I used plastic one. Now apply glue on top and stick it to the metal pins as in img.

Now slide that into the oral-b brush cap and glue it firmly. Now remove the cap and cut the top part of pencil lead box , it will be of the size of your finger. Now insert gum tape into the box opening and onto the brush cap as in img below, to make a flexible head.

Now glue this onto the card or any base firmly.

Now insert the deodorant cap by lifting the flexible head of the processor.

Food processor is ready. I have to paint the whole thing leaving the metal part and have to add a button for start n stop and a red kundan(a small drop sticker) as indicator and wire and a plug.

Mini CD

Mini CD

One more tutorial for this day. A mini CD. I used a sequin, paper round punch and marker. Using marker, mark the center of the sequin and keep it in puncher, make sure, the marked point is at the center of the punch hole(see it from below). Punch it and that's it. .. If you want a poster on your CD, you can glue a paper of your choice and then punch a hole, or you can just paint on it. Njoy :-)

Hi guys,
Its been a long time i'm not active in my blog. How are you guys doing?? I came up with one more easy tutorial on making mini juice glass. Glass is a found object, i got it from some medical things, my cousin gave it to me. I peeled the paper on it, that's all. If you want, you can decorate it too. Things i used are , a transparent wire,a nail deco sticker, scissors and glue.

I cut a required length of wire and straightened it and glued it to glass. I took one orange slice and cut out a tiny piece to fit it on glass and glued it. That's all...

I have to fill some juice in it... any suggestions?? Have a nice day :-)

Spectacles

Hi friends,
Do you need spectacles for your mini display or for your doll. Lets make one. We need jump rings(here i used gold colored rings), paper clips, Metal cutter, tape and glue.

Now using metal cutter , cut the two paper clips as shown in image below.

Cut the part shown in image below and glue it to two rings as shown below.

Now take the two pins we have cut before and align them as below before gluing. Make sure the bottoms should align with the jump rings and the placement of arms or temples or side arms of spectacles should align with the nose bridge. See the image below to understand it better.

Now glue them carefully and it takes time to set. Use tapes to keep them in position while gluing.

When the two arms are set properly in place , spectacles are ready. That's it Njoy:-)

Box_decoration

Hi,
Today i'm going to show you, how to decorate the box we did before. Its kind of interesting and fun... Lets go back to our childhood, we used to transfer coin designs onto paper, not tracing , i'm talking about embossing... Ya, i'm going to use the same technique here.
We need a box, aluminium foil, coins with designs on it, big staple pins, toothpick and glue.

I have collected three sizes of pins. Smallest one is the regular one and the middle one i used for making box and the biggest one is the one which i'm going to use here.

I have collected some coins with interesting floral designs.

I separated two pins from the bigger set and i have selected this coin for embossing.

Glue the two pins as in image below and set aside. This will be our frame.

Cut a piece of foil with the measurements of above frame. Keep the selected coin below the foil and using the toothpick gently run on the foil. Make sure all the details are covered. Use the bottom of toothpick initially and for minor details use the tip of it. Be careful while doing this, foil is very delicate.

After doing this we have to smooth the surroundings. Use any tool of your choice and make sure the design shouldn't get disturbed.

This one is my favorite...need to smooth the center more.

Now cut the foil and glue it to the frame.

Now the design is done and ready to be glued on top of box.

Box

Hi,
Today i will show you how to make a box. Its really v.easy and you can do it in your office leisure time too :-p. We need stapler pins, glue that is used for metal, tansparent tape and tweezers.

Three stacks of pins are enough for making this box. Take 2 stacks and hold it as in image and mark the height of the horizontal stack on the vertical one and separate it from stack. You can do it with fingers. Make four pieces like this for covering the sides of horizontal pins.

Glue two small pieces we just separated from one stack to the horizontal stack. Hold it with a tweezer while doing and let it dry completely.. Click the image to enlarge , to understand how i glued them.

Now hold the above made two pieces together as in figure and tape them and the intersection.

That's it ... the box is ready that too a working piece. Njoy :-)

Wallet

Hi,
Today i will show you how to make a wallet. Materials needed to make it are: Paper tape(white) it got some texture which is apt for leather look, Brown shoe polish, piece of thin transparent polythene cover, piece of white paper ,dry pastels, non-stick surface(here i took a plastic package box), scissors, glue and a toothpick.

Cut required length of tape and stick it a surface like plastic so that we can peel the tape later. Apply polish and let it dry and then polish it to get the shine.

I left it for one night to dry so that the color wont stick to hands when doing further process.

See the texture and the shine of it. I liked it and it has given me the leather texture i wanted.
Now cut two small pieces of paper as below and apply some light yellowish brown shade using dry pastels.

Now peel the tape and reverse it and place this paper pieces leaving equal border around and cut it. Now fold the borders as in image.

The edges has to be glued because at edges we ll have non sticky surfaces facing each other. Glue them by carefully applying glue with a toothpick.

Now apply glue on three sides of one of the above pieces and stick both the pieces together. Make sure the open of the purse should be good.

Now let it dry completely. Give it atleast 5 to 10mins and do the next procedure. Now we will make pockets for cards. First fold the purse to take the measurement for pockets.We will do the same procedure as above for pockets, cut a paper strip and stick it to tape and glue it the inner side of wallet.

Now add one more pocket. Always remember one side shouldn't be glued. It is the open for keeping cards.

Two pockets are ready now we have to add a transparent pocket to keep id-card or a photo. Cut a small piece of thin transparent polythene and using small strips of tape, stick to the other side. One side is for pockets and the other for photo.

The wallet is ready.. Njoy:-)

Tea cups

Hi friends,
How about a cup of tea?? Ok, to have a cup of tea, first we have to make a tea cup, right? So , lets get started. Recently i found small bells which are apt for making these cups. We need 6 bells, Super glue, wire cutter, nose pliers and a toothpick.

Bells

Using a nose plier widen the ring. Now we can separate the bell and this ring will be used in further process.

Separated parts

Six cups are ready to get the handle attached to them.
Take the ring and make into this shape using wire cutters and nose pliers. I cut the ring a bit to make it to the size of cup.

Glue the handle to the cup using a super glue. Apply glue to the handle with a toothpick and stick it to the cup. Give it some support till it gets dry.

The cups are ready. Lets have a tea party....Njoy :-)

Stethoscope

Hi friends,

Does your mini Doctor, needs a stethoscope?? Here's how you can make a mini stethoscope. We'll need a craft plastic wire, paper clips,two small black beads, a push button, super glue, wire cutter, toothpick and scissors.

I am using this big pin marked in red

Press buttons. I will use the lower right part.

The images below explain the procedure...

Take a reference. This image is collected from net.

Cut two pieces of wire, one is about 6cm and the other 4.5cm...These measurements are for barbie scale.

Slit the 6cm wire around 0.5cm.

Now we will get two parts. One i will leave with the same measurement 0.5cm and the other i will cut it half of it horizontally leaving it as 0.25cm.

Now, i will keep the 4cm wire between the slit parts and overlap with the 0.5cm and 0.25cm split ends and glue it. Make sure the split ends of 6cm wire should be glued at the center of 4cm wire.

Cut the pin using wire cutter and take longer side, which is in the right side of the image.

Make that metal wire into two equal parts.

Apply glue to the ends with toothpick and insert the pins into the wire.

Apply glue to beads and stick them to the pins ends.

Actually, i noticed a problem here. The plastic wire won't stay in U- position. I would hav checked it before gluing pins to wire. You guys please check your wire and insert a flexible metal wire into the plastic wire. Now using a cylindrical object with small diameter, bend it in U-shape. Now add the pins and follow the rest of the process.

Here i paused, because i'm in search of that press pin :-(
I will continue this after finding that button. Rest is v.easy. I have to paint the rim in black and i will fill the hole and glue this to the above made setup. Have a nice day :-)

Juice jug

Hi,
I'm back with a new tip. I'm like a crazy girl , always in search of stuff, which i could add to my minis and i love my quest. One day ,when i was browsing the net for materials which i could use in minis... i found something that will exactly fit into minis and no modifications needed too. These are small perfume bottles. They carry only 1ml of perfume in it. See the images below, which i have collected from net.

One small bottle size is about 9mm diameter and 35mm height.

See how beautiful, they are!! You can remove the pipe in it.

Add them into your minis. I'll get some for me too. Have a nice day :-)

BasketBall hoop (wip)

Hi guys,
Today i'm in mood of a game. Lets do a basket ball hoop. I recently bought a key chain, it has a mini basketball , i'm going to use that. We need a bangle or anything that resembles a ring, a net bag( which i got with fruits, it looks like socks), a mini basketball, super glue, scissors, cardboard or some metal, solder (for assembling hoop and holder).

The pic above shows the main things i'm using. The bangle should have a diameter a bit more than the ball. Check it before proceeding.

Now insert the net which is closed at one end and measure the required length , plus a 1cm of net for gluing and cut it. We have to cut the closed end to allow the ball.

Now glue the wider end of net to the bangle.

This completes the hoop part. This is where i stopped. Will continue it soon and finish it. I have to make holder and stand. See u soon in this project :-)

Scissors

Hello,
How about making a scissors? Your doll may be thinking of doing some embroidery... so lets give her a little gift. Ofcourse not a working model ;-p

To make this , we will need a dress hook, cutting plier, a file, hammer and a permanent marker.
Take a hook and open it as in image below.

Cut the unwanted part, then we will get two pieces as in image below. I hammered the first half of each part (to make it flat) and then filed it to remove roughness and make it shine.

Now glue them , keeping them in crisscross position and let it fix properly. Scissors are ready!! Using a permanent marker, mark a dot to make a feel of nail holding the two blades at center. I didn't use it, You can do it, if you prefer.

See the size of it. Its of my nail size :-D

Belt

Hi,
This belt looks simple but it took quite a good amount of time, may be because i don't have the proper tools. But the output was really impressing. I used quilling paper, dress hook, flexible metal wire, glue and cutting plier.

I took a hook that fits the size of quilling paper and cut off one eye and opened the other eye and made it straight and cut off the extra wire as in above pic.

I took a flexible metal wire and wound it around as in pic above. Click to enlarge.

I folded the quilling paper twice and glued it, to get the thickness. Now take the required length of paper . To fit the buckle at one side, measure 1.5cm and fold it at center. Make small hole for the buckle pin to pass. Now insert the paper into the loop with the buckle pin passing through the hole. See a real belt for reference if needed. Now glue the folded paper and let it dry.

Now make holes leaving the waist measurement . Belt is ready to be worn by your doll.

You can give it a leather look by polishing the belt with dark tan shoe polish like below

P.S: I did a mistake in making buckle. I didn't scrap off the paint from it, that's why its looking a little odd. You guys don't neglect this. Scrap paint before the procedure and apply the paint of your choice for buckle after the completion, because while bending the color peels off. So paint it after finishing the belt.

Rack

Hi,
This is really a v.simple tutorial. It will take ten mins for making and a day for finishing(depends on the glue you use). Lets see, how to make it. We will need pencil leads(i used 2mm), wooden beads from a bracelet(they are rectangular and have three holes) and glue. Insert pencil leads into the holes and glue them. Let it dry completely. Your rack or shelf is ready to be mounted on wall. Njoy :-)

P.S: Make sure the leads are fitting perfectly into the holes. If they are little less diameter than the hole, then use some m-seal to fill the gap.

CD

I think you would have understood what i'm going to tell. If not, once click the image and see closely what they are and are they ready to add into your minis. Ya, they are sequins. Did u feel like all the cds are arranged like that? I felt these sequins(silver color) are looking like mini cds. So, guys go and buy some of these and them in your minis. You can paint on it or stick a paper to make it look like a label(don't forget the hole). Have a nice day :-)

Spice rack

Hi,
This will surely add some extra spice to your mini kitchen ;-p. I love making minis with things which we usually see in our daily life and some things which we use for crafting. Here i will be using hair pins, toothpicks, icecream stick , quilling paper, glue, cutter, a file or sandpaper and some tape.

Take 2 hair pins and widen it a bit to make v shape.

Take small beads and glue them to the ends.

Let them dry for a while.

Cut a toothpick and glue it to the pin in the lower bend.

Cut an icecream stick and glue it on top of toothpick. Make sure the pins stand. Secure it with tape, so that they will fix properly. Leave it overnight, as the wood should stick properly to metal.

After completely drying, the pins should stand like this.

Take a quilling paper and fold it lengthwise and glue them. This gives thickness to the paper.

Cut the qulling paper into required length and glue it to sides and back .

This is the finished spice rack. You can add one more below.

You can keep your mini bottles or some spice bottles on the rack.

You can use cardboard instead of quilling paper. I used it so that i don't have to cut the strips from cardboard. Njoy:-)

Golden trim for crockey

Hi,
This tip should be used when making a set of mini crockery, so that there will be no wastage of gold color. To get a gold trim around crockery like the image below( reference from net). After painting your bowl with color of your choice. let it dry completely. Now take a plate and pour some gold color and make it level, it should have the height of the rim you wanted. Now invert your bowl and dip the rim in the paint on plate. Remove it immediately. So that only a thin layer of paint sticks to your bowl. Let it dry in the inverted position only. Decorate your dish as you like with flowers or anything you wish. You can paint your dish with designs or you can use nail art stickers that looks like paint , no thickness like decals. Now give a coat of clear nail polish to the dish or any clear varnish to get the shine.

Reference from net. Real size dish.

You can use the same technique for cups, saucers, plates and glasses. Have fun :-)
P.S: Be careful while taking out the minis from paint plate, the paint may drip or stick to unwanted areas.

Corn hair or corn silk

Hi,
This is something that we wouldn't have thought of using in our miniatures. Corn hair or corn silk is something that has good uses. This is an image from net and see what i have made using corn hair in 2nd image.

After drying it i used to make hair for my mannequin.

You can use the dry corn silk on ground for a village or forest or for some untidy background. The texture is really wonderful. We can use it for making a bird nest and can be added in a vine on a wall to give a look of dried up stems.

Raw corn silk can be cut short and used as grass. Add some small stones, dry medium length corn silk(scattered on ground), some dry small thin stems or twigs to make it really good scene. This makes a really good background. Try it. Have fun :-)
