Although toys and other gifts are the norm, we lost a very dear friend this year who was a savage reader. She also dedicated her life to caring for her own and other's children. So, in her honor, we ask you to please drop off children's books to our shop located at:

Following the debut of their quick-feed adapter line for the Empire Sniper, BT SA-17 and Empire Trracer, local company Gearheadz Paintball, LLC has expanded it's reach further into the realm of high-quality aftermarket parts by acquiring the exclusive distribution rights to the Bonebrake USA brand.

The acquisition came about after taking a company tour of the Warpaint International warehouse in Salem, Oregon. As Gearheadz Paintball owner Keith DuVall, and Machinist Ryan McKee were taking their guided tour they came across a few unmarked boxes. "There wasn't anything particularly unique about them, it was just a stack of boxes like you'd see in any warehouse. But something about them called to me," Mr. DuVall said.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the boxes contained a variety of original Bonebrake

aftermarket parts for Autococker and Angel paintball markers. Bonebrake

USA

, a company owned by Dan Bonebrake, the man behind the SuperGame paintball series, produced innovative aftermarket parts for a variety of tournament markers. The company also produced a line of limited-run Autococker paintball markers that are still highly sought after by collectors.

Mr. DuVall stated, "We are proud to announce that we will be doing a limited release of new-old stock this summer. The product will be released at SuperGame, and any remaining inventory will be distributed through our webstore and our showroom." The term "new-old stock" refers to manufactured goods in their original shelf-ready packaging from an old merchandise line that is no longer in production.

The Bonebrake parts release is just one of many product lines being announced by Gearheadz Paintball, LLC for 2013. Earlier in the year the company announced they are nearing production on the Pheonix Kit for CCI Phantoms, which transforms any standard CCI Phantom into a double-barrel marker on a single frame. Gearheadz Paintball also released a Deluxe Tool Kit for marker maintenance, and is expanding on their Spring Feed Adapter line for Empire and BT branded markers.

Learning and Lounging - Coming to SuperGame 45

I don't know how it happened. It seems like just yesterday we were breaking down camp at SuperGame 44 in August, and here we are just 4 weeks away from what is promising to be the biggest SuperGame yet. Since January we have been working on a plan for our booth and I think it's fair to say that we are coming with more cool stuff than we've ever had before. The newest additions to the Gearheadz Paintball, LLC booth are the Intro to Gun Teching class and the Player's Lounge.

This will be our first introduction to gun teching class held at an event outside our workshop, and our Airsmiths are excited to spread their knowledge with players who want to learn how to take care of their paintball markers. Attendee's will be provided with a paintball marker to work on and a tool kit with all the supplies that they will need during the class. Afterwards, those attending will be given a packet to keep with detailed notes and instructions from the class so they have something to reference when they are working on their own equipment at home. The other new addition to the Gearheadz Paintball booth will be the Player's Lounge. We are REALLY excited about this one. When you're ready to take a break from the killer action on the field, drop in and watch a movie, play a game or just sit and stay a while. We're looking forward to helping you catch your breath!

Feed Adapter for Spring Feeds

If you haven't yet heard, last week we released our very first mass-production part. Designed to remove the spring-feed from several Empire and BT paintball markers and replace it with a standard 10 round tube or with a CCI Phantom feed tube we are happy to bring back the nostalgia and intuitive feel of play.

A customer mentioned to us that they really enjoyed playing with their Sniper, but missed the feel of a cram-n-jam feed. Thus, the Feed Adapter for Spring Feeds was born. The new part was designed to be affordable, easy to use, and comfortable for long-time pump players.

The holiday season is upon us, and as we get ready for Thanksgiving and start adjusting to the suddenly chilly wet weather, I thought I'd sit down for a moment and send out a blog post into the world.

Our little shop has a lot to be thankful for this year, and the biggest thing that we are grateful for is the growing number of customers who have found us and given us the opportunity to serve them this year. The number of friends we have met since we opened the showroom in April continues to grow, and we are truly blessed that there are so many players in our area who are glad that we are here. We promise to continue to expand as quickly but responsibly as we can so that we can continue to meet all of your needs on and off the field.

We are also sincerely thankful for the other paintball pro-shops and fields in the greater Portland Metro who have helped us to promote our new location. Oregon Paintball, Impact Action Sports, Warpaint International, NW Ambush, Splat Action Paintball, Diamond Hill Paintball Park, Camp Dakota and Action Acres have all had a hand in our success this year. If you have the opportunity to visit one of these companies, we encourage you to do so, and please tell them Gearheadz Paintball says hello when you do.

There have been numerous teams who have been kind to us this year, and to all of you who play on a team we thank you for coming into the shop and for playing with and against us this year. Most notably we'd like to thank OK Company, Team Walkons, TAP, 1.8.7., Mad Dogz, New Breed, TriLambs, and of course our own factory team the Gearheadz Family Assassins. There are probably a dozen other teams out there who we have had great dealings with this year - and although we haven't listed your team here please know that we truly enjoy your company and business.

We also have a few mentors in the industry who have helped us to avoid some costly mistakes, shook their heads but didn't berate us when we've made others, and who have helped us in our growth this year. The Scaramanga

If you didn't already know, we started our company as a modification shop way back in 2010. We can't believe we've been at entrepreneurship that long, and it's amazing how far we've come. Now boasting a physical showroom & workshop in Hillsboro, a new webstore with FREE shipping, and an ever expanding inventory of goods, a lot of folks forget that we are still - at our core - a bunch of crazy tinkerers.

Our latest project is one of our favorites, and it was a build for SuperGame 44 this month (August 17th-19th, 2012). Called the "Scaramanga" after the man with the Golden Gun, we turned an already amazing CCI Phantom into a double-barreled piece of art. A complete gentleman's kit, it came encased in a solid wood briefcase, with a hand-turned delrin pen & pencil set.

Because of the overwhelming positive feedback that we've received from customers in the shop, players at SuperGame and forum users, we are considering the possibility of producing a pump-kit so that you can make YOUR CCI Phantom a double-barreled menace.

Pricing and release date will be decided as we move forward with refining the design and as we look into the cost to go into production. After months of scouring the commercial real estate ads, we finally found a new shop to house our showroom, and to give our busy worker zombies more elbow room when they are working on all of your custom projects, repairs and service.

We are proud to announce that the showroom will officially open to the public Sunday, April 15th, 2012. For those of you in the Hillsboro area, we invite you to come down between 10am and 6pm on the 15th to join us for burgers, hot dogs, and grand opening sales & specials to kick-off your spring games.

In addition to all of the modifications, props and services we have been offering since 2010, the showroom now allows us to be your paintball supply center as well. Come down to pick up paint, get fills, purchase gear & markers, and receive services from nationally certified technicians. It has been a very busy winter in the Gearheadz workshop. Not only have we been busy working on all of our regular projects, but in January we also sent our crew off to receive some training at the Paintball Training Institute in Tennessee for a host of classes and certifications so that we will be able to better serve you.

If you haven't been following our Facebook page, then you might not have heard yet that we now have both a C5 Airsmith and a C5a Master Airsmith on staff to help you to maintain, troubleshoot and repair your paintball markers and gear. With over 30 certifications across many of the major brands in our industry, we are dedicated to keeping you on the field.

So stop giving your marker to a buddy who may or may not know the proper way to repair your marker, and give us a call instead (we've seen what some of your buddies are doing and it's probably safer for both of you to drop your marker with a professional). With marker cleaning and basic maintenance starting at just $10, we will get you back on the field without hurting your wallet. We also do an inspection of any of your gear for FREE, so if you are thinking of dusting off the paintball gear that's been sitting in the garage for a while give us a call so we can help you to make sure you are playing with equipment that is still safe to use.

One of the things that is very important to the Gearheadz Paintball family is to support local charities and events that benefit people from all walks of life who are suffering. Whether we are supporting children in Foster Care, patients and families affected by Cancer or individuals struggling to manage Diabetes, we put our brand and our passion behind these great people and the organizations that strive to help them.

Not only does helping to fund raise and support local charities feel good, but we've discovered that it is a great way for people to get involved in a sport that can help them enjoy life despite their troubles. Physical activity is an important part of the healing process regardless of the type of injury and ailment and we are passionate that paintball is a sport that can get people excited about life, exercise and recovery.

Whenever your paintball club, team or business finds itself between games and struggling for a unified focus, we urge you to consider organizing a fund raiser, volunteer day or other outreach program for a charity or group that is important to you. As we march into the holiday season, there are thousands of ways for us to spread our passion and cheer for our sport to others who are in need of a little pick-me-up.
