Attributed to  the Pennsylvania Dutch, who along with the Italian-Americans, are the ethnic group most often  associated  with local cuisine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Soft Pretzels – Also from the Pennsylvania Dutch, by way of their medieval German heritage in  which young children were rewarded for prayer by receiving these treats meant to resemble arms  folded in prayer. &lt;br /&gt;• Italian Sausage – Fiorella Brothers at 8th and Christian Streets has been making Italian sausage in a  tradition that dates back to the great wave of Italian immigration to this country.&lt;br /&gt;• Jersey Tomatoes – Featured in The Philly Food Show as being the secret behind Campbell Soup’s  famed Tomato Soup.&lt;br /&gt;• Fralinger’s Salt Water Taffy – Another candy confection, this one as Atlantic City as the Steel  Pier.  &lt;br /&gt;• Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews – A local candy bar made from a unique recipe that combines  chocolate, caramel, peanuts and molasses. &lt;br /&gt;• Mushrooms – A visit to Chester County’s Kennett Square the  self-proclaimed “mushroom capital  of the world.”  &lt;br /&gt;• Geechee Girl Rice Café – Noting the diversity of life and food in 21st century Philadelphia, this  rice-based cuisine comes to us from black emigrants to the city, who brought their “Gullah”  traditions from the Sea Islands region of the South.&lt;br /&gt;• Sauerkraut &amp; Pork – If pretzels and Scrapple blend PA Dutch and the city, we will consider a dish  that exists independently of Philadelphia.&lt;br /&gt;• Tastykake – This food manufacturer has been synonymous with Philadelphia for nearly a century,  and its pastries find their way into the homes across the country.&lt;br /&gt;• Ice cream – A treat in this city since colonial times. Afterwards we went to the fountains to watch one show and went back to the timeshare to check in, followed by a stop at food4less for groceries for the week. We'll never go there again, i ordered the western omelette and home fries(waitress was excellent by the way, very attentive).&lt;br /&gt;Western omelette was ham,ham, and ham. Very thinly on the eggs, and the home fries came out on a little bowl(could they afford to give us more.) 1 out of 5 for us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On monday we went to the &lt;a href="http://www.saharamotel.com/"&gt;sahara motel&lt;/a&gt; breakfast/lunch cafe and was impressed by their breakfasts.(grateful dead fan owner). very good pancakes and eggs, and my wife had eggs &amp; sausage. 3 out of 5 for us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On tuesday we went to &lt;a href="http://www.phillipsseafood.com/index.cfm?page=menus&amp;amp;id=3"&gt;phillips&lt;/a&gt; by the sea(good choice for breakfast buffet). Everything was laid out in precise order. eggs were made with milk, a little creamy but not fake. I had a little of everything. all was good except for the waiter behind us who kept goin on about the new &lt;a href="http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/SBYOFHF-Hilton-Suites-Ocean-City-Oceanfront-Maryland/index.do"&gt;hilton&lt;/a&gt; charging 500$ for a suite a night, I love my job too. that's waht bars are for.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now we did hit many of the local eateries in the area for dinner/supper.&lt;br /&gt;If you like crablegs you would love &lt;a href="http://www.phillipsseafood.com/index.cfm?page=menus&amp;id=4"&gt;phillips all you can eat seafood house  &lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;one of the best highlights of our trip, we went there twice. 27.99 per person&lt;br /&gt;if you go later in the evening about 530pm there's a 10-20 min wait.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;enough for now will post more soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;&lt;!--
