The Dark Side of Disney has never before extended so far and wide, permeating every pathway of Hong Kong Disneyland. Morbid curiosity brings Guests to a traveling show, “Revenge of the Headless Horseman,” to visit its main exhibit – the head of the Headless Horseman. Revenge of the Headless Horseman

This traveling show is set up in the heart of Adventureland, and the con artist exhibitor claims to have the head of the Headless Horseman as the main exhibit. But you are not the only one attracted to this sideshow. The Headless Horseman himself has come to claim what has been stolen from him. Angered by the con artist exhibitor and his false claims the Horseman has come to seek revenge. You want to view his head - now he wants yours. Escape before you suffer the fate of those before you.

Universal Studios Singapore Announces Halloween Horror Nights for 2011

We’re soon approaching that time of the year again, the time to unleash the spooks and let mayhem, fear and evil descend upon us. And this year, there’s no scarier fright night than at Universal Studios Singapore, with Halloween Horror Nights- which promises to be the largest Halloween event ever staged in Southeast Asia.

Be warned.

The team at Universal Studios Singapore is pulling out all the stops to make its inaugural Halloween Horror Nights the largest, most intense and most horrifying Halloween event ever produced. It’s definitely not for the fain-hearted.

After all, the event is modeled after the ever popular and successful events at our sister parks- Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. In fact, the first Halloween Horror Nights began 21 years ago. Its popularity has soared to great heights ever since, resulting in the global sensation it is today.

We hear there’s a massive scare-labyrinth that include a brand new haunted house, multiple scare zones, a selection of Universal Studios Singapore’s theme park rides and attractions and a street party.

Welcoming guests to the event is the Director, a sadistic filmmaker who thrives on macabre movie-making and filming tortured subjects. He will greet guests as they enter through the looming gates. Once inside, guests will be cast for their final cut.

As guests navigate through the park, they will ‘step right up’ to a midway of mayhem, escape from the pandemonium-filled streets of a post-apocalyptic metropolis, and come face-to-face with deformed carriers of a flesh-eating plague.

The main attraction within the event is an elaborate haunted house – with an Asian twist. Located inside one of Universal Studios Singapore’s soundstages, guests will enter a dilapidated Peranakan mansion which, to this day, is still haunted by a demented matriarch.

The first thing we would like to say to you is: We love animals too.

The Marine Life Park (MLP) in Singapore will soon be home to 100,000 marine animals in one of the largest oceanariums in the world. Their well-being, health and welfare are in our hands. It is a huge responsibility, and one that we take very seriously. It is a responsibility that not only comes with the job, but from a deep and personal conviction that all species of animals must be treated with utmost respect and dignity. And we are fortunate to have a dedicated team of professionals which include highly respected veterinarians and experts from various fields in marine husbandry, who are deeply committed to provide the very best care for our dolphins through husbandry, diet, behavioural enrichment and veterinary care.

Like you, we are outraged when we hear of abuse and ill-treatment of animals.
So we want to assure you that our dolphins are thriving under the care of our MLP team.
There is the point of view that animals born in the wild should not be kept in zoological facilities, that they should roam free. But at the same time, there is also a view of many animal experts and millions of people who support zoos and aquariums that zoological facilities can provide inspiration to those living in urban communities.

Zoos and oceanariums play an important role in giving people the opportunity to come up close with different species of the animal kingdom. Without this access, could our children grow up with any real awareness, understanding or appreciation of the animal species that share this planet with us? Is watching documentaries or reading about them enough to create empathy and conservation action?
Rest assured, our dolphins will exercise and play to their heart’s content, and will never be forced to do what does not come naturally to them. Dolphins by nature love people, and people have come to love dolphins. Our caregivers love the dolphins and devote a lot of time caring for them, ensuring that they are active and socialize with each other, stay healthy, constantly engaged and bond well.

Guest Service at Universal Studios Singapore There is no Guest Services for Annual Passes Holders

As you can see I haven't been posting much on my blog why there just nothing to post till now.

As you all know as Annual Pass Holders who purchased a AP when Universal Studios Singapore first opened your AP has expired. So you would think that before they expired you would have been notified and told what it's going to cost to renew your pass. But here we are two day after a lot of people passes have expired not a word from Resorts World Sentosa on the cost to renew you pass for USS.

This again shows how poor the Guest Relation is at Universal Studios Singapore and the company that runs it Resorts World Sentosa. You have guest that want to renew there passes but RWS is not saying a word but watch for the e-mail about. What e-mail?

Over and Over again RWS show they have no clue on how to run a major theme park. It's time for RWS to fire there management and find people that know how a major theme park should work. I have asked for 5 days now on there Facebook page what is going on. They answer other people question but they well not answer the people that are asking about Annual Pass renewal.

RSW has known about this day and has done nothing to show they even care about the people that are fans of Universal Studios Singapore and want to support it by putting out money for their over priced Annual Passes. Hello is anyone home at Resort World Sentosa.

Ocean Park Hong Kong to Increase Ticket Prices Sept 1st

Ocean Park has launched a number of new attractions and shows over the years, including the launch of Aqua City in January this year and the Rainforest this month under the Master Redevelopment Project (MRP) that are very much welcomed by visitors and Hong Kong people.

Facing the increasing operational costs and the payback requirements of loans for the master redevelopment project, Ocean Park will need to adjust the admission price to ensure   sustainable development and to begin to repay the debts, which begin at the end of this year. The Park approaches the adjustment by keeping the price as low as possible, as well as striking a balance that is competitive and comparative with other facilities or attractions of similar scale and scope.

Meanwhile, the operational costs of the Park have increased at a proportional rate to these new attractions, which is the direct result of adding jobs at a rate of 200 per year, which has seen full-time headcounts grow from 600 in 2005 to 1,800 in 2011. Ocean Park also needs to begin to repay the loans for the MRP by the end of this year and hence needs to adjust the admission price for its continued and prudent development. The Park announces today (20 June 2011) a new pricing structure for daytime admission and Smartfun annual pass, which will take effect on 1 September 2011. A summary of the new admission is as follows:

   Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park said, “We understand our pricing adjustment can be a burden to the community in high inflation and do not wish to see it happen. However, as a prudent and properly managed business we need to find ways to meet the increasing operational costs & repay the loans, while considering the market conditions and public sentiment as well as the financial viability of the company. Even after the adjustment, our admission is still the lowest among various tourist destination theme parks in the region offering similar price value propositions in entertainment, education and conservation, as well as world class attractions for the entire family.”

Ocean Park continues providing a number of discount packages to our guests. These initiatives include concessionary admission for Hong Kong residents on their birthdays, Hong Kong residents aged 65 years and above, and holders of Registration Card for People with Disabilities; and sponsored admission to individuals and members of families receiving assistance from the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme (CSSA), and Social Welfare Department member organisations. The Park also gives donation-in-kind to charitable organizations, offers special rates for school tours, and spearheads many other community caring projects. During the fiscal year of 2009-2010, Ocean Park maintained a total of 13 social care programmes, with over 350,000 beneficiaries and an aggregate value to the community equivalent to HK$85,000,000.

As the theme park of Hong Kong people, Ocean Park commits to provide the fun and enjoyable experiences by offering a multitude of attractions and activities combining animal presentations, thrill rides, and entertainment to all of our guests. The new attractions such as Aqua City and the Rainforest have been opened in the past few months and bring the visitors a new perspective integrating with conservation, education and entertainment.

Dr Zeman said, “There have been a number of press enquiries on our pricing after a report in the media today. We therefore decided to make an early announcement to put any speculation aside and to address the needs of the Company, as well as the various pricing alternatives that will be provided by the Park to our visiting guests.”

Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea to Cut Children Tickets in Half July 8th to Aug 31st

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will halve the entrance fee for children this summer for the first time as part of efforts to help lift their spirits in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, the operator said Friday.

The amusement parks will offer their one-day passport at the price of 2,050 yen, compared with the usual 4,100 yen, for 4- to 11-year-olds from July 8 to Aug. 31, Oriental Land Co said, adding that holders of the annual passport will be excluded from the discount program.

‘‘We want every child to smile’’ especially at a time when Japan is struggling to rebuild from the devastation of the disaster, a spokesperson for the company said. The quake also damaged the premises of the parks.Admission

“Pixar: 25 Years of Animation” exclusive ticket offer

This year marks the 25^th anniversary of Pixar Animation and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum is holding a special exhibit featuring the creations of Pixar. This includes all the old favorites, but also the new and un-released creations, such as Cars 2 characters. Fail RWS and Universal Studios Singapore Grand Opening Video Feed

No video for the first 15 minutes of the video feed from the Grand Opening of Universal Studios. Once that the feed did come on line no sound. After a half hour we had sound of a jazz band but not from the Host interviewing the arriving guests. One person comment on Facebook "the music sounded like something from a porn movie".

Of all the people interviewed only Paul Abdul had sound that you could understand. She was ask two very poor question about USS. Even I know that Ms Abdul didn't arrive in Singapore till late this afternoon and had no time to see the park yet. You think one of the question asked her would be her thought on American Idol or her up coming show the X Factor.

You think Universal,RWS and Singtel would had made sure the feed was working and ready to go. If you can't do it right don't do it at all. This is another RWS/USS Fail!!!!!!!

Disney’s THE LION KING lead cast members treat Singaporeans to their first public performance at Marina Bay Sands on June 4th

SINGAPORE (26 May, 2011) – On 4th June at 5.45pm, to celebrate the ongoing success of THE LION KING production in Singapore, select lead cast members from the award-winning musical will present their first ever public performance at the skating rink located by the Rasapura Masters food marketplace at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

The talented cast of THE LION KING will present an exclusive showcase of select songs, including the smash hit Academy Award-winning song by Elton John and Tim Rice 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' – a rare treat for those who have yet to catch the extraordinary performance.

In addition, 100 tickets will be given away on the day on an hourly basis, starting at 12 noon to lucky visitors participating in various quizzes and contests at The Shoppes. For just that day, a special family package with four C-Reserve tickets will be on sale for just S$400, a saving of S$100.

With over 150,000 tickets already sold THE LION KING production has been playing at the Sands Theater, Marina Bay Sands to capacity since it opened to rave reviews in March. The musical is the first Broadway style long running production Singapore has had and is of the same Broadway-quality standards, spectacular music, dance, sets and costumes that have made it a worldwide phenomenon.
Local elements have been added to make this production unique to Singapore. The musical has also elevated Singapore’s performing arts industry when it cast, for the first time, a Singaporean actor in the key role of Young Simba - 11-year-old Nicholas Papayoanou.

On stage, Director Julie Taymor’s creative vision blends elements of African art and Broadway artisanship to depict anthropomorphic animal characters. The sardonic and deviously cunning “Scar” is played by Patrick Brown. Jean Luc Guizonne aka Jee-L is “Mufasa”, the great warrior and ruler of the Pridelands. Gugwana Dlamini is the wise baboon shaman “Rafiki”. Lyall Ramsden plays the prim and proper horn billed bird “Zazu”. Pierre van Heerden is the carefree warthog “Pumbaa” and Jamie McGregor is the wisecracking meerkat “Timon”. Mufasa’s son, Simba, the lion prince born to be king is played by Jonathan Andrew Hume and Puleng March is the loyal lioness “Nala”.

The three evil hyenas are played by Lavina Williams, Simon Gwala and Michael Bagg. The role of “Young Nala” is alternated between Christina De Leon, Myka Torre and Nikki Samonte.
Singapore is the latest leading city to host THE LION KING after sell out performances in New York, London, Hamburg, a North American tour, Tokyo and Las Vegas.
