A very nice action movie… I’ll be frank the story is as weak as Justin Bieber’s claim to being a man but the movie has huge plus points that over shadow the story… like the brilliant performances given by Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds and some awesome realistic fight scenes are the highlight of this movie. The story is pretty simple, Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) is an ex CIA agent who has some information that everybody wants. He is chased by some hired hands who are trying to get that information from him… finally he surrenders himself to the CIA. Now the story begins…

Frost is being transported to a ‘Safe House’ where the "housekeeper" is Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds)… unfortunately for Matt the safe house is breached and now he has to take Tobin Frost and deliver him to a new location. Now Matt has to figure out how the safe house was breached? And who let them there? And on top of this he has to keep an eye on Tobin Frost… While reading the brief about the story you probably guessed how the story is going to be and you’re probably right… like I said the story is not that great… the main thing to focus on is the relationship between Tobin Frost and Matt Weston. How they see each other as untrustworthy and how they slowly begin to trust each other. They are very similar in character… but the paths they have chosen are very different. Till the end you won’t have a clear idea as to why and how a guy like Frost will turn against the CIA but finally you do. The performance given by Denzel is amazing especially during the last 15 minutes of the movie… and you have to give it up to Ryan Reynolds… he has done a good job. The movie depicts a man’s journey… during which there is a time where his belief system falls apart… and he has to make a decision… Tobin Frost made his choice… and now he tries to guide Matt Weston to make the right one… will he do it? You have to watch and see.

This movie does the purpose of a horror movie… that is to scare you with loads of special effects. If you ask me there are two things horribly wrong with this movie… No 1… Daniel Radcliffe a young father??? Now there’s title for a fantasy book. No 2… the story isn’t that great… well the story is adapted for a novel of the same name but that transition from book to movie is not that good. I mean in the beginning they show that it’s because of Harry Pott…. Oh… sorry, I meant Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) is the cause of the entire problem…

that it’s because of him the woman in black is causing all the havoc… which makes you believe that there is some deep seeded meaning to the whole story… but there’s none. Here’s the gist, A young layer Arthur Kipps is sent to manage the estate of Alice Drablow, who owned Eel Marsh House of England. As soon as he gets there he is unwelcomed by the locals but he just wants to do his job… so he goes to the Eel Marsh House and discovers that there is some supernatural phenomenon in that house… The woman in black... The rest of the movie is how he tries to figure who that ‘woman in black is’ and what she wants… this part doesn’t really make much sense… even lesser sense that portraying Daniel Radcliffe as a father. Oh… I forgot to tell you… there is secrete No 3… to why this movie isn’t that great to watch… and that is the acting performance given by Daniel Radcliffe… bravo Daniel… bravo.

Caution… will scare you.

This movie makes you reminisce a lot… to the times when the name Steven Spielberg was synonymous with movies such as Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s list, Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report… the times when your hear the name “Steven Spielberg” your mind immediately goes to unique, daring, talented… To see him make a movie like this… is a bit difficult to digest. But the movie is based on a children’s novel of the same name… Still just because it’s based on a children’s book doesn’t mean it has to be the definition of PG-13, which by the way is really irritating…

I mean when you hear the name “war horse” it plants a picture of a horse in the middle of a bloody battle field pulling somebody’s dead carcass around… but the movie is like ‘babe’ with a horse. The cinematography is really good, the locations are breathtaking, The ironic thing about the location is that horse and it’s owners were living there because they were poor… now a days you have to sell your soul to get to live in a place like that. What was so great about this movie? Well… it was definitely not the direction. The cinematography was worth it… but if you ask me… it’s that bond between humans and animals that makes this movie worth watching… we all done it at some point in our life… valued the life of an animal more than a human being. I guess it’s their innocence and their undying faithfulness and the fact that they can’t talk back at us… makes them the best. The story is about the friendship between a boy and his horse Albert Narracott (Jeremy Irvine) is a son of a local farmer Ted Narracott (Peter Mullan)… one day Ted blows all his money on a horse... like everybody else… he blames the alcohol. Now Albert despite his dad’s drunk*** decision to buy the horse develops an almost “Oh my god! Call the SPCA” relationship with his horse… Their friendship grows scene by scene until his dad decides to sell the horse to the army for money to feed his family. The story kind of wanders around a bit after this part… probably the writer ate the wrong kind of brownies… the story get very “Disney” in these parts… you know where the birds come flying in to help you make your breakfast… it was almost like the horse couldn’t be killed… hopefully no kid wanders around into an active war zone hoping to be like Joey (the horse)…. PG-13 my hairy ***… anyways the rest of the movie shows how Joey and Albert reunite. There are a lot of unwanted scenes in the movie… like people speaking in French and German accents rather than speaking French and German!… wow… I hate Avatar, but at least he made those overgrown Smurfs talk in that stupid language… I guess that’s what happens when your aim is to make money… but have to admit this is a good movie for your kids to watch and adults to sneak in some alcohol. But seriously… take your kids if you have any or you’re nieces and nephews under 13 to watch this movie.

Something to take your kids to…

Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) is the ‘man of the ledge’… he wants to prove his innocence and clear his name of being falsely accused for stealing a $40 million diamond from businessman David Englander (Ed Harris). Now how does he do it? He creates the ultimate distraction by grabbing the attention of the cops and the pedestrians towards him while his brother Joey (Jamie Bell) and Joey's girlfriend Angie (Genesis Rodriguez) try to steal the real diamond from David Englander. Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks) is the negotiator who tries to keep Nick Cassidy form jumping off…

her role is not really needed, why they put her there? I’ll never know… well she was wearing a see through dress in her introduction scene… I guess… they just badly wanted to include that scene. The movie starts off with a bang… it’s interesting and get you hooked and it’s not like your conventional action movie but the second half doesn’t deliver… and the ending is like any other action movie… predictable and with a lot of loose ends. This is where the director and writer went wrong… I mean the ending is what you walk out with it’s what stays in your mind after you leave the movie theater… you can’t go wrong there! Unfortunately they did… other than the last part of the movie the rest of it was nice… a good concept. No real acting skills displayed in the movie… just a nice concept backed up with some nice thinking on the part of the writer… wouldn’t be surprised if the writer did some jail time. Other than that it’s an average movie… starts off big and ends off tolerable.

WOW… after a long time a good movie, one of those movies that you sit after the last scene… just before the credits and hope that the movie is not over. A different story… yet feels so familiar, the way it was taken was also unique… “No matter what you’re doing you’re always being recorded” is the motto of the cinematography. The story is pretty simple… three high school kids get superpowers and the whole length of the movie shows how they use it, pretty simple right? But the way its show is what makes this movie different. The movie shows us that we’re not superman! We don’t help people when we get superpowers…

H*ll we’ll kill a whole bunch of them and declare ourselves the ruler of the world. The transition of how their thought process changes are shown really beautifully… Andrew Detmer (Dane DeHaan) is the lead character in this movie a shy high school kid who likes nothing more than to be left alone, Matt Garetty (Alex Russell) is Andrew’s cousin and probably his only friend… Matt is also weird… but in his own way… Last but not least Steve Montgomery (Michael B. Jordan) is a popular kind and a friend of Matt (also running for school president… “Don’t forget vote for Steve”) these three stumble on something out of this world at a friend’s party… now they don’t actually show how they got the powers but they do… And how they use it in the beginning is nice, and soon along with their powers… their attitude on how to use it also change… to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi “you were the chosen one!!!” I guess the one bad thing about the movie is that it’s too short… the ending kind of creeps up on you. This is one movie you just can’t miss!

What you see is what you get… should have been the tagline for this movie because when you see the trailer you get a certain idea on how the movie will be and you won’t be disappointed. The story is ok… towards the second half it gets pretty predictable, ah… who am I kidding the entire storyline is predictable. What’s nice about this movie is that when you get bored and say “I knew that would happen…” they throw in a chase scene or an action scene and get you pumped up. Now here’s the story…
Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) is an ex-smuggler who has started a new life with his wife Kate Farraday (Kate Beckinsale) (of all the names available they had to choose ‘Kate’… you lazy ass son’s of b**ches), but unfortunately for him his halfwit brother-in-law Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) screws up big time with a local thug Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi)… now he’s got to pay… (Personally, I would have watched him fry) but Chris Farraday being the nice guy that he is tries to help his dips**t brother-in-law and finds himself in the s**t hole with him. Now Chris Farraday tries to get him and his family out the s**tter by doing one last job. This is the basic story… it is interesting and here’s a game you can play while watching the movie, try to count the number of things they smuggle and how they smuggle it. There are some funny scenes in the movie, the funniest part for me was Giovanni Ribisi... it’s hard picturing him as a lowlife thug, lowlife… yeah, thug… not really? You don’t know whether to laugh or be scared when he comes on screen. Kate Beckinsale gives new meaning to the work ‘eye candy’. Other than that the movie is… average, just your average action movie that you can watch with some friends have a few laughs and have a good time.

To quote Rodrigo (Antonio Banderas) “holy shit!” what did we do to deserve this movie? I mean come on… I’ve seen p**n movies with better storyline and direction compared to this movie. Here is an idea on how you feel when you watch the movie… when your drunk… time seems to move fast… you’re so… hammered that you only remember about 5 minutes of a 40 minute walk… well that’s the same feeling I got when I saw this movie. I think I was so traumatized that my mind actually repressed some parts of the movie. Of all the dumbass things I’ve done in my life… this is amongst the top 5 and I’ve done some pretty f**ked up s**t.

This doesn’t even qualify as a Movie; it’s a waste of time! There’s absolutely nothing exiting in this movie… the fight scenes are a bit good but it’s really irritating… how the f**k can one female beat the crap out of so many men? I’ll never know… I know in real life she’s a mixed martial arts fighter and all but this is f**king ridiculous. The lead character Mallory Kane played by Gina Carano shouldn’t quit her day job… because she can’t act if her life depended on it! I don’t know what the f**k Steven Soderbergh was thinking… well maybe he wasn’t thinking at all… which would make a lot of sense. And how he got all those stars to act in his movie is a brain teaser. I mean how in god’s name did Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor and Channing Tatum agree to do this “movie”? Usually I give a brief description about the story… but this s**t ass movie doesn’t have a great story… it's fucked up, Anyways I’ll give it a shot… it’s about a spy or ex marine or something… this b**ch is screwed over by some c**ks**kers and now… she does something… I think she wanted to get revenge… not really sure… well that’s the best I could do! Don’t even care to talk about the characters names and all. If you want to punish somebody give them a ticket to this movie. On a personal not… Why the f**k! do you need camouflage paint all over your face when your hiding in the f**king bathroom!

The movie seems to have many small story lines coupled with a main one… the main story line being how death can bring a family closer together. The movie is based on a novel of the same name; the story revolves around Matt King (George Clooney) a land baron in Hawaii. In the beginning of the movie they show Matt King’s wife in a coma because of a boating accident and soon he learns the she’s not going to make it… after this he brings his elder daughter Alexandra King (Shailene Woodley) home from boarding school, Matt King tries to reconnect with his two daughters Alexandra King and Scottie King (Amara Miller). Now the fun begins…

Alexandra King tells daddy about the affair his dying wife had. Don’t worry it’s not a suspense or anything… this happens in the first 20 minutes of the movie, after this Matt king tries to find out who his wife’s secrete affair is… whilst trying to make a decision on whether to sell or keep the land his forefathers gave him and his family… whilst trying to tell his family and his wife’s family that his wife is dying… whilst trying to reconnect with his two daughters… lost my breath there… like I said before it has many parallel stories. The movie is really good… and just like its story there are many good things that happen parallelly that make this movie must see. George Clooney’s acting is really good and the cinematography is a treat to the eyes and there are some light movements in the movie too… especially when Sid (Nick Krause) comes in the scene, Sid shows us that there is a pot head in all of us. Have to give it up to Alexander Payne he’s done a great job with the direction and the screenplay. The movie shows you even in paradise life s**ks… it also shows us that life is a gift. I don’t know if it’s Hawaii… but the visuals were amazing some of the sceneries and the way they were shown on screen were just amazing, if you ask me that was the most outstanding feature of the movie… the cinematography. To sum up… good story… good acting and great cinematography… a really heartwarming movie.

<![endif]-->Introducing the Watch
Meter:

Hey guys, I realized that there was something missing from
my blog… I had good reviews (if I do say so myself) and some knowledge when it
comes to movies. I realized that there is a flaw in big movie review site, they
give you a rating and a review but they don’t really tell you which movie to go
to a theater and watch… they just give you an idea. Like all good innovators I
have a solution,

The “Watch Meter” Usually I give a rating out of 10 for all
movies and a justified review… But problem is you don’t really know which movie
to watch, Cause on an average most movies get ratings between 5 to 7, so it’s a
bit confusing to decide… so I have added the Watch Meter rating system to
all my reviews. It’s pretty simple… there are three ratings ‘Must See Movie’, ‘Too
Much Time’ and ‘Wait For DVD’

Must See Movie –
means you can watch this movie in a movie theater, it will be entertaining and
it will be most enjoyed in a movie theater.

Too Much Times –
means, if you are too bored or don’t have anything else to do, you can watch
this movie in a movie theater.

Wait For DVD –
means it’s not really worth going to a movie theater… you can watch it on DVD.

Hopefully this rating system will be useful… please comment
and let me know.

Coriolanus… The movie is based on a play written by Shakespeare ‘Coriolanus’ which was based on a legendary roman war hero ‘Caius Marcius Coriolanus’. This movie is a modern day recreation of the play… when I say that it’s a ‘modern day recreation’ your mind probably goes to ‘a classic tale remade to suit the present audience’ well… not really. The dialogues are the same… it’s in that old Shakespearian way of speaking which was between 1605 and 1608 when he actually wrote the play… see my reviews are a bit educational too. Now it was good back then… but when you take a movie about a play written some 400 years ago…

you don’t copy it act by act, you try to modify it to the fit the present audience! That is the movies biggest downfall… for example the conversation between the mother and Coriolanus is pretty weird, apparently in those days when a son came from battle injured the mother was proud… now a days if you go home with a scrape on your knee… your mom gives you a lecture on road safety. I hope you guys get what I’m trying to say… there’s a huge cultural gap, at least if the movie was portrayed in the 5th century BC when Coriolanus was alive… again educational, it would have made sense but no… it was portrayed in modern times. I think the guys who made the movie flipped a coin ‘to see if they wanted to make the movie as an historic on or a modern one’ and the coil just fell on its edges… neither heads nor tails. I really don’t know why critics love the movie so much… that’s why you should read my blog! Cause I’m just like you… an average Joe. On a personal note don’t get fooled by the trailer there is only one war scene and it’s 5 minutes long and it get over within the first 15 minutes of the movie. The entire movie is about how Caius Marcius Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes) a war hero and a patriot is convinced by his mother to become a consul but thanks to the scum’s that call themselves politicians that dream is shattered and get this… Caius Marcius is exiled from the very soil he fought to protect. Now Coriolanus aka Caius Marcius joins his enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) to take revenge on his city. Now, this plot build up is awesome… it really is but unfortunately this is about 75% of the movie… they don’t even show how he gets his revenge on his city… they just show him sitting in a chair, the f**k does that supposed to mean? There is no war scene where you really need a war scene… because that is where the movie was really getting boring and people were getting really sleepy by ‘people’ I mean ‘me’, so I was expecting a battle scene to wake the people who paid to watch the movie up! But there was no gripping scene after that and the way Coriolanus changes his mind and declares peace is laughable… I’m serious, people in the theater were actually ridiculing the last scene… by ‘people’ I mean me and my buddy… anyway the movie is boring to say the least But Ralph Fiennes’s acting is really really good… shows you how underused he was in harry potter. Till now you probably think the movie s**ks but… not really, the first half is pretty good, that kind of gets your expectation high for the second part but unfortunately the second part doesn’t deliver. If you’re a Ralph Fiennes fan then you should definitely watch this movie.

A fun movie you can watch with your friends and family… to see Sherlock Homes as a person well trained in the art of ass kicking is a bit hard to believe, when I think of Sherlock Homes my mind goes to ‘super sleuth’ not ‘ass kicking machine’… but the movie is entertaining, can’t argue with that. The story is about Sherlock Homes (Robert Downey Jr.) and Dr. Watson (Jude Law) trying to stop Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) from implementing his evil plan… Ahhhh… Don’t worry, the movie isn’t too serious… it has its light movements…

My personal favorite was the wedding scene of Dr. Watson, Oh yeah Watson gets married in the beginning of the movie. The Scene when Homes and Watson arrive for Watson’s wedding is really really funny… after that the movie gets a bit serious… Some scenes are really amazing… have to give it up to Guy Ritchie, Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) comes for the first 15 minutes of the movie but don’t worry the story has nothing to do with the first one, so if this is your first Sherlock Homes movie don’t hesitate. The action is fast paced and the ending is a bit corny, but none the less… adds up to a good movie overall.

A great story with many layers, you should READ the book… but if you’re like me… who are we kidding? There’s a better possibility of me getting struck by lightning. Like I said great story… but was the story portrayed well on screen? Not really… the progression of the movie itself is a bit slow… but the movie was marketed as a “THRILLER” so… like any person I waited for the finale, the grand revile, but… there’s nothing grand about it. At the end of the movie I just wanted to get up and shout “the F**K was that!” “Are you FU**ING kidding me?” it was kind of disappointing, and the main villain doesn’t even get a role in the movie…

I’m serious, they don’t even show his face but they do show you his hand not even both of them, just one hand. The story is pretty nice… it takes place in the bleak days of cold war. George Smiley played by Gary Oldman (by the way… it’s kind of weird seeing him without his Jim Gordan mustache) he’s an espionage veteran forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6… Ah… the plot thickens. He comes back from retirement because his close friend and mentor Control (John Hurt) was murdered… so Smiley sets out to find this spy… his main suspects are the top 4 people in the MI6… oh yeah… now he has to find out which one is tinker… tailor… soldier… SPY! Your probably thinking “how can this movie be bad” well the movie is not bad… just a bit uncoordinated if you will. They don’t give importance to important scenes… like the guy who puts a mole in the MI6… they don’t even show his face or his importance to the movie… After the end of the movie you will be sitting there and linking the sh*t together, and thinking “I didn’t pay to see a fu**ing do it yourself puzzle! I paid to see a thrilling movie…” but the movie does have a great cast Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and more. So to sum up… is it a great story? Yes… is it a great movie? No… But… oh yeah there’s a ‘but’ but if they make the other two book into movies… it will be awesome, yeah… this book is a part of a trilogy… should have mentioned that earlier, then again this is why you should read the entire review! If they make the other two books into similar movie it will be good. Then again I really don’t know why people do this…The origin of any story is good, but you want to see the origin only if the ending is good or if the character is interesting. For example if you showed “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” first and then you show “Batman Begins” it creates a very unique atmosphere… doesn’t it? Rather than showing it in sequence… but in my example it’s Batman! So it doesn’t really matter in which order you release it, people will watch it and like it… but when it comes to introducing a new character like “George Smiley” I think the order matters.

Probably the best movie in the Mission Impossible series… The story is the same old stuff… betrayal, revenge and redemption… but! The action is unbelievable, Oh my god… some of the action scenes are just so brilliant. When I heard Brad Bird was directing… I was a bit skeptical, I mean the guy has done some amazing action scenes in some animation movies (like The Incredibles) but could he bring that to the real world… was my biggest concern, and he didn’t disappoint. Have to give it up to the cast and the stunt crews for making his vision come alive. The Story is average…

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is called for a very important mission, where they find out that they were too late and their actions put US and Russia in a very critical situation… and throughout the rest of the movie they try to stop a nuclear extremist from starting world war 4. Simon Pegg plays Benji, who gives comedy flavor to the movie. The best part about the movie is that you don’t actually have to see the first three to understand this one… but it would help if you saw the third one. None the less, this movie has so much of action and so many beautiful stunts… that makes his movie the best Mission Impossible yet.

An amazing story, but a bad movie… The story of Sam Childers (Gerard Butler) is a truly inspirational one, but the way it is portrayed on screen is awful. The first half of the movie is really good… it shows how Sam Childers transformers from a lowlife to a respectable person in society and after that goes to Sudan to help the orphans, if you ask me they should have stopped the movie after that. In the second have the throw in all this unwanted stuff in the movie and it gets boring… really boring and irritating. I mean what more do you need? You have a great story a good cast…

but still they manage to mess it up. Gerard Butler does a good job in portraying Sam Childers and Michelle Monaghan does a good job too… but unfortunately for them, their hard work will go unnoticed. I guess the most unfortunate person is Sam Childers... The movie is about how Sam Childers transforms from a selfish man to a good person, eventually he movies to Sudan to defend the Sudanese orphans from the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA)… something a normal person won’t do, guess that’s what makes his story amazing. In the end the movie deviates from this concept and… the sad part is when you come out of the movie you won’t feel happy that at least someone is trying to make a difference… you’ll be going ‘thank god the movie is over!’.

A political thriller… it shows us that you can trust a Box Jellyfish (the most poisonous living thing on the planet) more than your best friend in politics. The movie revolves around Stephen Meyers (Ryan Gosling) who is on the campaign team of a new presidential candidate Governor Mike Morris (George Clooney). Stephen Meyers believes in Governor Mike Morris and hopes that he will be the president who puts the United States back on top. The first half of the movie is a bit slow moving… with the building up of the plot and the analysis of the individual characters…

it drags a bit but not that much. The second half of the movie is fast paced with the plot beginning to unravel and the psychological games begins. It shows us that you need a heck of a poker face to come to the top in politics. The whole movie shows the maturity of Stephen Meyers… his transition from a nice guy to a cold hearted son of a… well, you know what I mean. Ryan Gosling has done a good job, a well all rounded performance.

Generally we expect some maturity when a comic book series (or an animated series) hits the big screen but in the case of ‘The Adventures of Tintin’ there was none. It was like watching the animated series I enjoyed as a kid… and although it brings back some great memories of my childhood it also reminded me that I wasn’t a kid anymore! The visuals were awesome but very PG13. There was a lot of argument about the sexual orientation of the character… whether he was gay or straight, I always believed he was straight…

but throughout this movie I was thinking “how can he not be gay?” not to imply that it’s wrong to be gay… it’s just that he’s either homosexual or had a very protective mother, I mean Harvey Milk looks like Steve McQueen compared to Tintin. Overall the movie was… OK, that’s it. Only kids will truly be able enjoy this movie while adults are just left puzzled with the thought “is Tintin gay? If he is, then what about Captain Haddock?!@*” . After the movie I was left with two unresolved questions… no one being about Tintin’s sexuality and the second and the most important one… why are big time Hollywood directors intended on attracting kids?

The movie is about a dentist named Bertram Pincus played by Ricky Gervais, Pincus dies for seven minutes during a routine medical procedure and comes back to life… but he has a small side effect, yeah that’s right… he can see dead people. Since Pincus is the only one who can see the dead… the dead wants him to do their unfinished business…
unfortunately for them Pincus is not a people person. After a while Frank (Greg Kinnear) comes along and changes his mind to help him break up his wife Gwen (Téa Leoni) and her new boyfriend. Things get a little complicated after a while…. Well, you have to see for yourself. The movie is really good, the first half is funny and makes you smile… keeps you interested in the movie and the second half really touches you. The second half shows how Pincus a selfish man who hates other people changes his selfish ways and becomes a better person. It’s a bit sentimental and clichéd, but it’s nice… brings that warm feeling in your heart.

A movie that revolves around a Dolphins Tail! Get it… come on… not even a little smile? Ok then… about the movie… The move revolves around the unlikely relationship between a boy and a dolphin. Sawyer Nelson (Nathan Gamble) a reserved young boy finds a Dolphin caught in a crab trap on the shores… ‘Winter’ the dolphin survives the dreadful event but loses her tail in the process. She eventually learns to live with it but life gets to her as this new way of swimming creates some complications…

which could eventually lead her to her death. But thanks to Sawyer and his undying faith in Winter she fights back and inspires millions with her will to live. The movie seems to lack something… but I can’t quite put my finger on it. But the inspirational story itself is enough see this movie. Morgan Freeman plays Dr. Cameron McCarthy, he helps fitting Winter with the prosthetic tail. And to quote Dr. Cameron “swim you stupid fish, swim!”

A stunt driver with a very unusual hobby… I know that doesn’t sound that interesting, but this movie is!! Ryan Gosling plays the “Drive” whose name isn’t reveled in the movie… he works as a mechanic who as a part time job does stunt driving for movies and he also does getaway jobs for criminals, That’s right he does “jobs” for criminals… the “job” is… he gets them to safety, in short a getaway driver and that’s it. The first 15 minutes of the movie is pure genius. Then about half of the movie is about how the Drive falls in love with his married neighbor Irene played by Carey Mulligan…

the situation is complicated, her husband is in prison, it gets even more complicated when he gets released. After the first half it’s pure action… some killing scenes are a bit nasty! So get ready for that. I guess what makes this movie interesting to watch is the mysteriousness that surrounds the Driver, the movie gives no idea about his past or who he is or what he’s capable of… as the movie progresses on you’ll learn that… looks can be deceiving. But the ending is like any other action move, it’s predictable… no real suspense or twists at the end, which is kind of a letdown. The story is actually well built and shows us how things can go sour in a heartbeat… only the ending was a bit ordinary, other than that… the movie was a great.

Well… we all have heard about the story about a bands rice to fame… this movie tells the story of a band that didn’t quite make it. It’s a very different movie form your normal one… I frankly liked it. It tells the story of Neil McCormick (Ben Barnes) and his brother Ivan McCormick (Robert Sheehan), and their attempt at becoming rock stars. The movie is based on Neil McCormick’s memoir “Killing Bono: I Was Bono's Doppelganger”, Neil McCormick was the classmate of Paul David Hewson… who the world know as Bono (Martin McCann) the lead singer of U2. The whole story is based on true events…

The story tells us about the rivalry between Neil McCormick and Bono and how each of them dreamed of becoming rock stars… but unfortunately only Bono’s dreams came true. The movie shows us how Neil McCormick tries to become the best and rise up from the shadow of Bono… but thanks to some seriously bad decisions, he doesn’t quite make it. The movie shows the struggle of Neil McCormick in a funny point of view… but also tell us that not everyone make it. The movie rides on the gilt of Neil McCormick who secretly prevented his brother Ivan McCormick form being in the band U2… because of this Neil tries to do everything he could to make him and his brother bigger than Bono… but falls short. It’s nice to see this movie… a movie about friendship, pride and guilt.

The first few minutes of the movie are intense!!! This kind of gets you hooked into the movie… throughout the movie you wonder what’s going on as the past and the present are shown simultaneously. The movie revolves around how childhood friends Jonathan 'Milk' White played by Channing Tatum, Vincent Carter played by Tracy Morgan and the secret they share… now after 16 years their past comes back to haunt them. Throughout the movie White tries to figure out who is trying to bring back his shady past to light and why?

Al Pacino plays Charles Stanford a Detective who helped White in his darkest days and Katie Holmes plays Kerry White his present wife. The mystery person threatens White by sending letters to the local newspaper and random phone calls to him and his wife. Near the end of the movie White finds out who has been calling him and threatening him… which comes as a surprise but now White has to make a life altering decision… whether to be a good family man or a good friend. The last 20 minutes of the movie are exiting and the ending is also nice. Personally I like the movie, it’s thrilling and a little emotional… shows you the extent people go to hide the truth. Now I haven’t read the book… so I can’t really compare. But if you haven’t read the book you’ll like this movie. This movie asks the question “what does it really take to for a man to be… free”

This is not a movie to watch for fun… it’s a serious movie that requires you to ‘Want to Watch It’. Yes it’s a WTWI movie.

This movie has the flavor of Shrek… with two or more fairytales intertwining to make one story. When we first saw it Shrek it was nice but now after four sequels of Shrek… it’s not that great. Now-a-days animated movies can be enjoyed by both adults and kids… but this one will be more enjoyed by kids more than adults. I guess… seeing the same old concept again and again makes this one very average. The movie has Antonio Banderas as the voice of Puss in Boots, Salma Hayek as the voice of Kitty Softpaws and Zach Galifianakis as Humpty Dumpty…

The cast doesn’t really do much other than hype up the movie, unlike in a normal movie… in an animated movie the cast can’t really do much. Did I enjoy the movie… not really but at the same time didn’t hate it too… it’s one of those movies you bring a kid to and sit with him throughout the movie without wanting to blow your brains out. Unless you’re a big Shrek fan or you want to take you kids out for a movie… this one’s not for you.

This movie is similar to the previous 4 in many ways… The survivors of a suspension bridge collapse are killed one by one. It seems to be that as the number of sequels increase so does the goriness of the deaths… so this one is not for the faint of heart. If you ask me this movie is better than its predecessors and is almost as good as the original one. There is a simple logic in this movie… which is nice, because in the previous ones they try to explain it and the explanation is just meaningless and boring! That’s what I like about this one…

plain and simple. A lot of blood and weird deaths… you should have a strong stomach for watching this movie. The movie moves on just like the original and at the end there is a big… big suspense, which is really great and much unexpected… I guess the question is… will they escape death!!

A very average movie with Johnny Depp playing Frank Tupelo a seemingly ordinary tourist visiting Italy and Angelina Jolie plays Elise Clifton-Ward a very exceptional woman who is wanted by the police. The police follow Elise to catch her boyfriend a faceless criminal… But Elise misleads the cops by choosing a decoy in the train… guess who that it oh yes! It’s Frank. The movie has some chase scenes and as the movie progresses so does the infatuations between Frank and Elise. The movie is actually very predictable and the suspense at the end is not really… a big secret but the movie is very much watchable.
To see two people with such star power… on screen is really nice. I like the movie… It’s a great way to pass time, nothing really special about the movie… just your average movie. The scenery is really great… something to look forward to in the movie.

This is one of those movies that you watch when you are patient and relaxed… not a movie you watch to enjoy or relieve stress. The movie is filled with politics, love and how the ‘man’ always wins. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by Hunter Stockton Thompson, it’s based on his experience in San Juan in 1960. Johnny Depp plays Kemp an aspiring journalist in San Juan who just wants to write the truth… but soon he finds out that telling the truth is harder that it seems. If you’re like me… by that I mean you’re a sociopath who hates politicians who manipulate us through the media…

then you’ll like this one. This movie is not about how Kemp overcomes these “Bas***ds”, that’s how Kemp describes them Bas***ds, but shows you how these “Bas***ds” take advantage of the people and become filthy rich in the process. This movie shows us that “you either die a nice guy or live long enough to sell out!” and “nice guys finish last…” Like I said this movie is not for the faint of heart. This movie showcases everything wrong in this world. Depp give a good performance as usual, Aaron Eckhart and Giovanni Ribisi are in this movie… Giovanni Ribisi is a good actor, what can I say the guy grows on you. Giovanni Ribisi has come a long way from being Phoebe Buffay’s half brother in F.R.I.E.N.D.S to getting rolls in major films like Avatar… got a bit carried away there. The base story is like I said before it’s about how the ‘man’ takes advantage of the people… and there are some small stories weaved into it… like the love between Kemp and Sanderson’s (Aaron Eckhart) fiancée Chenault (Amber Heard), and how Kemp tries to get back at these “Bas***ds” and there is a lot of alcohol and drugs involved.

As for the movie… like I said before, if you’re like me… then you should watch the movie.

My rating is 7/10
