More Wallpapers (Dual Monitors)

2011-03-26T14:02:00.000-07:00

Few more panorama's I took while in Churchill, Manitoba. Sadly don't have any with Polar Bears in them. Also took the same one I made a post about not so long ago, but added a little "vibrance" to it. Actually added some to each of these photos.

Go ahead and use them, share them, edit them, whatever. Just try and remember to give me credit for them, haha. I know they aren't professional, but I thought I should share them anyways.

(Sizes aren't perfect, as I originally did not take them for wallpaper use so edit as needed)

(EDIT: It seems ImageShack downsized all the full sized photos since I first posted. I will try to fix this asap)

Neutron Beams, oh shit.

2011-03-25T11:26:00.000-07:00

Tokyo Electric Power Company has stated that they have observed 13 neutron beams. The beams had a low radioactive rating though, meaning they weren't particularly dangerous.

Typically you will see a neutron beam when fission is occurring, but TYPICALLY fission only occurs inside the protective core. So this could potentially mean fission is occurring outside of the core, meaning that the core could be breached.

Also, this was happening at Reactor 2 I believe. Now I've heard Reactor 1 as well. So its one of those ones. This could mean uranium and plutonium are going through nuclear fission OUTSIDE of the containment core.

I sure hope that's not the reason, because if it is, Bill Nye is right, cement these reactors in NOW.

Don't get to worried though, so far its all speculation.

BP Still Doing What They Do Best....

2011-03-23T11:22:00.001-07:00

Thousands of people who were hired to help clean up the Gulf Oil Spill are now becoming severely ill and or dieing. Lots of them are suffering from severe neurological damage. BP is denying all claims that it is their fault, or that the reason these people are getting sick is due to the oil spill.

One female, Jennifer Rexford is documenting her health as is degrades over time.

One of the videos:

Her channel: JMRexford

Guess it's just a typical oil company. Does not surprise me. How do all you feel about stuff like this?

Silly Coalition Forces....

2011-03-21T18:45:00.001-07:00

Now, I am all for removing Gaddafi and letting the Libyans elect a completely new government into power, but I think I noticed a slight mistake on the part of the coalition forces...

Rather then start bombing random targets to scare the Libyan military, wouldn't it of been much smarter to just kill Gaddafi WHILE they knew where he was?

It seems to me that this is playing out just like the war in Iraq began.. Now that they have scarred Gaddafi, god knows where the hell he is, and how deep a cave he is living in now.

Chances are it's going to take ground forces to try and find him. Oh right, that's how they had to do it in Iraq too.. Hopefully the opposition forces will track him down, or it may be like Bin Laden, and we never see him again.

Thoughts?

United States Helping Libya Again... Wait a Second

2011-03-19T13:52:00.000-07:00

So United States is leading the coalition forces into Libya. Britain, France and Canada have fighter jets flying over Libya ensuring the "no-fly zone" is met by both rebel fighters and Gaddafi forces. The U.S however is in charge of launching Tomahawk cruise missiles to take out anti-aircraft installments around Libya. So far about ~110 missiles have been launched from submarines and warships along the coast.

But wait a second, wasn't it the U.S/France/Britain that are the reason Gaddafi is the man in charge? Actually, isn't it because of them, most of the middle east is in complete unrest?

Yes, indeed it was. Way back in 1919, and around there shorty after WWI, these nations decided to divvy up all the former territories of the Ottoman Empire (Middle East) because they knew of the economic possibilities that existed in this area. (OIL!!!!11) Now after choosing their favorite areas, they started installing their own leaders in the areas they took. Egypt got a nice British-installed king, Iran got a nice pro-British ruler, Iraq was involved too.

Now the Arab nations didn't exactly like this, so now we have a military coup in Egypt, which leads to Mubarak becoming ruler later on. Uprisings in Iran force the leader out and the imams become the supreme rulers. Today, Iran remains in control by the imams, and who could have guessed, they are violently anti-western. Iraq is then taken over by the Ba'ath part, which leads to Saddam Hussein becoming ruler, until the U.S came back and kicked him out.

The best part of it all though is that it was all done for oil, and none of the Western nations took a look at Saudi Arabia, simply because it was a sea of sand. Oops, they might of made a slight mistake on that one.

Canada and the Nuclear Issues

2011-03-17T10:53:00.000-07:00

So, watching CBC for some reason (yet to figure out why) and they are reading off some warnings from the Canadian government for all the Canadian citizens in Japan. There is no advisory letting people know that leaving the country would be safest, because apparently Canada's data doesn't show the Nuclear situation as that dangerous yet.

Hurr to the durr, way to be Government of Canada. Obviously its not that dangerous yet, every country on planet Earth agrees with that and understands it. That's not the reason other countries are evacuating their citizens. Its due to the fact that this could potentially turn into a severe Nuclear crisis and its best to be a good distance from Japan.

(By "obviously its not that dangerous yet", i'm comparing the current Nuclear situation to what it COULD become. Obviously it is dangerous, but not near as bad as it could get)

Nuclear Disaster, and the Media

2011-03-15T13:09:00.001-07:00

So i'm from Canada eh, and we don't exactly have the finest news establishments here, well in my eyes anyways. Well either that, or my cable sucks. With this, I usually stick to watching CNN to get the important international news.

While watching reports from Japan, I couldn't help but get annoyed that they were live for a few hours of the day, and the rest of the time it is just repeated over and over again.

Now the next big thing, was the stupidity of the reporters. They were all amazed when they found out radiation can be pushed around by the wind. Elliot Spitzer is on saying he only thought radiation was like gamma rays and x-rays and can only move in one direction!!!!11 How can the wind move the radiation around!!!??? Then the meteorologist and himself discuss how they just learned this yesterday.

Apparently these reporters forgot all about Chernobyl. They also forgot that certain elements such as Cesium, Uranium and Strontium give off toxic radiation.

I mean who could have known toxic radioactive elements used in nuclear reactors could be pushed around by the wind!

Fucking radiation, how does it work?

Everyone has forgotten about 2004?

2011-03-14T14:19:00.000-07:00

I love watching the news, and of course the most popular story right now is the one taking place in Japan, after the 8.9 earthquake, and the intense tsunami that has hit the coast. It is extremely amazing to see the power of mother nature, but at the same time, saddening to see the loss of life, which is expected to have already surpassed 10,000.

With this though, I look back to 2004, when the Indian Ocean Tsunami hit Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and other places killed over 230,000 people.

Has everyone forgotten about this?

God vs Satan. lol

2011-03-14T14:05:00.001-07:00

So I'm NOT a satanist, I just want to clear that up before I post.

Fairly funny image I found on the internet. A simple search on google will turn up the website I got it from. The image was actually put together from REAL collected stats.

24,634,205 kill streak for god. I can't even imagine how many spy planes and tactical nukes he has. He must be hacking.

"Religious Happenings"

2011-03-14T13:54:00.000-07:00

I've been hearing so much about peoples prayers coming true. Apparently this proves god exists. I just want to clear this up, if one prayer out of millions, if not billions is answered, this does not, I repeat, DOES NOT prove god exists. I do believe miracles happen. Nothing magical, nothing god like, just simple, beautiful miracles.

"We are so thankful that out daughter has survived the cancerous tumor that has infested her body, we are so thankful to GOD for saving her life."

I hate to break the religious party thats going on here, but you should be thanking the doctors and nurses that saved your child's life. Enough of this religious bullshit being placed in everyday life. God gets too much recognition for doing nothing, while the real life heroes, who are saving lives on a daily basis get minimal recognition.

Now that was just a made up example, but i'm sure a simple google search will provide a mass amount of websites with people thanking god for all sorts of stuff, that other humans should have been thanked for.

Transparency

2011-03-14T13:46:00.000-07:00

Excellent, it's "sunshine week". Now the government can share their secrets with us, as they have for the past decade! Oh wait a minute, has that actually ever happened? I just love when the media throws around the term "government transparency" as if it actually exists.

Lets clear things up regarding the current "Cyberwar"

2010-12-09T17:55:00.000-08:00

To all the media outlets, and anyone who doesn't understand, that may read this blog. The people doing the DDoS'ing are NOT, I repeat, NOT "hackers".

Press/Media - for the love of god, stop using the terms "hacktivists", "hackers", "hacking", "hack", ETC. The majority of users in the IRC, are NOT hackers, and wouldn't be able to hack into a damn open wireless network. There are obviously many who are skilled, and could possibly hack into sites, but DDoS'ing is NOT hacking.

Wiktionary definition of hacking:

"Unauthorized attempts to bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network."

A Distributed Denial of Service is just an attack on a network. It is not hacking, bypassing security, etc. It is simply just a brute attack.

Wikileaks Internet War

2010-12-07T21:48:00.000-08:00

So recently, many companies have begun denying Wikileaks access to things such as hosting, banking services, monetary funds, etc. This has caused quite the stir in the online world.

I consider myself pro-Wikileaks so I obviously do what I can to aid Anonymous and "it's" pledge to to aid Wikileaks. They have DDoS'ed quite a few websites to date. Those such as www.paypal.com (breifely took down the blog), www.postfinance.ch - a swedish banking site (has been down for at least 20+ hours, and is still down as I am writing this post), www.advbyra.se - a swedish law firm website that is currently down, and has been for quite some time.

Other then that, when I am at a computer I try and read some new articles on the current happenings, but damn, all I seem to get is a laugh reading the pathetic news articles on sites such as FoxNews, and other professional news agencies that lack any technical knowledge. Its quite embarrassing, as I don't consider myself extremely technically advanced, but I can tell you DDoS'ing a website is not a "hack attack".

Get in the hive gentlemen.

Polar Bear Capital of the World

2010-12-07T21:24:00.000-08:00

So, spent most of my summer in Churchill, Manitoba. The polar bear and beluga whale capital of the world. This has to be one of the most amazing trips I have been on, even comparable to Europe. Although I didn't go for a holiday, it was amazing. I was actually up there working at the Port of Churchill. It was a good time. Had its ups and downs.

Anyways, Churchill itself is absolutely stunning. I come from a small town myself, so I could relate to the small size of Churchill. The only big difference is you are quite a distance from society itself, way up in northern Canada.

Got to see quite a bit of wildlife, including the belugas and the polar bears. Its quite surreal when you are sitting in your vehicle, mere feet from one of the worlds largest land mammals. They looked so soft, but damn, I sure wasn't getting out of my vehicle to find out.

Other then wildlife, the rest of the beauty came from the landscape/scenery. It was gorgeous. Take a drive along the scenic gravel road heading the the Northern Studies Center and you can see anything, ranging from a crashed cargo plane, a shipwrecked "Ithica" and even polar bears! Beautiful doesn't even begin to explain the northern beauty I never knew existed. There were times when I could sit in my vehicle looking out of the window (hard to leave the vehicle because of the blackflies) and just stare out over the land. Ah, I wish I could be back there. I do miss the people back home, but hopefully next summer I will be heading up again to work, before I leave for Australia!

Guess I'll close this post off with some pictures.

Lost.... made me feel lost no more.

2010-05-23T23:29:00.000-07:00

*SPOILERS INCLUDED* Well, tonight was the series finale of my favorite T.V show, Lost. No show has ever grabbed my attention like this one. Actually, I rarely watch much T.V but I would never, and have never missed a single episode of Lost in the last 6 years. The finale couldn't have ended much better. Of course, like Lost itself, it's one of those you either love it, or you hate it episodes. I loved it.

The episode is confusing, but once the final few scenes come on, you realize all the "Lostians" are dead. Even though they are very real, all together in that final scene in the church embracing each other, they are dead, attending their own funeral. Most died on the island, including jack in the very final scene, but for those who escaped, such as Claire, Kate, and even Lapidus, they eventually died to. Whether it be from old age, or anything else, they died. Something about the island brought them together though. Once they all died they were bound to meet again in this church, to say their goodbyes, and too move on.

It was a great ending to a great television show. Never has anything on T.V made me feel the way this show has. I loved it, and was emotionally attached to it. It's going to be hard to let go, as pathetic as that sounds.

Just a good quote from a friend, helping explain the death of everyone:

"Presumably, the afterlife is timeless and no one notices the difference in time between their arrival and the death of the others."

Another great quote.

2009-11-10T09:23:00.000-08:00

Not made by me, but I loved this one too.

"Why is there evil in the world? Is God able to destroy evil? Is God willing to destroy evil?

If he is willing to destroy evil but not able to do so, than he is not omnipotent/all-powerful.

If he is able to destroy evil but not willing to do so, than he is malevolent.

If he is both able and willing, than whence cometh evil?

If he is neither able nor willing, than why call him god?

Conventional logic because your God isn't real."

Great Quote.

2009-10-18T15:59:00.001-07:00

Not a fan of the matrix but this quote makes perfect sense.

"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure."

Breaking News: "Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize"

2009-10-11T12:00:00.001-07:00

Who the fuck is Obama anyways?

Am I racist? (Crazy thing I read)

2009-08-26T21:15:00.000-07:00

So i just saw this posted on a forum somewhere, and I kind of said, "wow". It seems true, but I don't know what to say?

Quote:

Am I racist?
You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and you think it's OK.
But if I called you Kike, Towelhead, WOP, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Gook, nigger or Chink you would call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
If we had WET(white entertainment television) ...we'd be racist.
If we had a White Pride Day... you would call us racist.
If we had white history month... we'd be racist.
If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives... we'd be racist.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships...you know we'd be racist.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights...you would call us racist.
Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them?... they all got sent to court for being racist but the african-american, latino, and asia clubs were not even questioned.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But if we announced our white pride, you would call us racists.
I am white.
I am proud.
But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?
Repost if you agree.
Now watch, I'll be a racist for posting this.

Australia, and New Zealand. oh boy.

2009-08-15T22:03:00.000-07:00

Well, i'm home from work, and it's midnight, and i just saw the little "Backpacking Australia" folder on my desktop of the computer. Now I'm VERY excited; actually, I get excited each time I see it now. It's true, my dream is slowly but surely becoming a FUCKING reality. Heck yes. It will be a 5-6 month journey that takes me from Melbourne all the way around and back to Canberra. I'm think more 5 months; 4 months in Australia, and 1 month in New Zealand. And I decided to actually attempt to get fit for this trip. Don't call me a loser for this, its just a little motivation.

Now I'm going to the bar.

osht. College.

2009-08-12T15:34:00.000-07:00

Holy shit. That 2 worded sentence just about sums up what i'm thinking right now. I fucking start college in 12 damn days. Holy shit again. As happy as I am that i'll get to meet some new people, and have some good times, its still College. Me, Brett, am going to college. Holy shit. I'll be taking some nerdy shit (the only shit I know, haha) in the field of Network technology. I pretty much have based my entire life off of going into this field. I hope I like it, and it all works out, cause if it doesn't I have alot of thinking to do. As fun as it should be, I am shit scared. Once again, Holy shit.

Its been quite some time.

2009-08-12T01:08:00.000-07:00

I have had much to rant about, but have either been to busy to post it, or to lazy to get on here, haha. I hope to get some ranting going soon, and I hope there are a few people who will actually read it, haha, but "whatevz", I just love to rant.

Europe.

2008-12-10T20:59:00.000-08:00

Wow, all I have is fond memories of this place. Visited Spain, Italy, and France for school in March/April 2008. I'll never forget it. It was just one of those things that I have ALWAYS dreamed of doing. Since I can remember I have loved history, not really Canadian history, but especially European history. We visited churches, basilicas, cathedrals, amphitheatres, aqueducts, and everything you can imagine. I never really new how much this trip would mean to me until I first set foot in Spain. Now, I have a hard time even thinking of the trip, even writing this is hard. Sadness overwhelms me, and yet I do not fully understand why. Shouldn't something like this of made me feel better. I try to tell myself that I have seen things that other people dream of seeing, I have seen things that I HAVE ALWAYS dreamed of seeing, yet its all to no prevail. I wish I could go back, and be with the 29 others I was with during that 2 week period. One day, maybe in the near future, I will head back, and visit some of the places I never got to see. Never shall I forgot the Ward's Wanderers, the Cassils Castles, and the Gable's Griswolds.

Oh, Religion.

2008-12-08T22:42:00.000-08:00

There are going to be many that disagree with what I am about to say, and talk about. But again, this is for me, to put my thoughts into words. Feel free to comment, I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are. Well, ever since I started learning about the Universe and everything in it, as well as theories of how we were created, etc, I begun to think that the theory of creation, though a higher being ("a god"), seemed very far fetched. I just couldn't think of how one man could create all that there is in the Universe. It just seemed impossible. I don't say this much to people in the real world, because, well, most people don't like me doubting religion. Back on track though, what was here before "a god" created everything. There must have been something. Personally, I think humans think were special, and that we were put here for a reason. I think its a load of crap. I think people need to start realizing that the human race is not a special thing, put here by a man who loves us all. We are random. Random living things in the mass expanse of space. We are lucky to be here yes, but again we were lucky. Lucky that some living cell, bacteria, etc, crashed into the earth, while riding on a meteor, in its early years. But, while thinking of this, another thought came to my mind. There are MANY religions. There are different beliefs for each and every religion. Different gods rule each religion. Each religion has different groups of followers, whether it be race, color, or sex. I'm not dissing any religions, i'm not saying any are better then the other. But, which one is the CORRECT one. If people do in fact believe that there is a greater being, an ultimate creator, then which one is "the one". With so many gods, almost 1 for each of the MANY different religions on earth, one must be actually real. I would assume that each and every god could not all be real. They cold not all have created the Universe. I don't want to hear anything like, well sometimes believing helps in life. Whether what you believe in is real or not, it makes you stronger. That's not why i'm ranting about this, i'm here for the truth. Me like many others, I would assume, want to know if there is an actual ultimate creator out there. Maybe one day, everyone will find out. Maybe it will be for the better, maybe it will be for the worse.
