Church of Satan Condems Christians for torturing a pregnant woman to death and call it "Satanic"

The church of Satan is beginning to turn a major table as they shared a post and made the record straight.

The official Twitter account of the church of Satan has gone ahead to make corrections to the claims of an article published by vanguard newspapers that called a process of exorcism that went wrong and led to the killing of a pregnant woman and sex children "Satanic"

The news article was about the exorcism of a pregnant woman who didn't survive the process and the death of six children alongside. When vanguard published this article and shared on Twitter reffering to the group as "Satanic group" the church of Satan quickly retweeted and corrected the use of the word "Satanic" and said that it was in fact a group of Christians that carried out the act and committed the crime.

When curious Twitter user questioned the source and originality of the tweet, the church of Satan replied immediately in sarcasm that he should try and follow the link to the article and read just as they did.

DPO Allegedly Assalts Mercy, Strips Her Naked and Also Arrests Her Widowed Mother

A 20-year-old girl, Mercy Okoro and her 19y/o sister, have been assaulted and stripped naked by a Delta State Divisional Police Officer (DPO) identified as SP Asanayin Ibok over dispute with a tenant in Warri.

It was gathered that a tenant simply identified as Andrew Obas was owing them about three months rent and they had told him that if he was given only 4 months to pay us. She explained further that Obas payment grace ended this January and they had asked him to move but instead of adhering to their warnings, the tenants go ahead to being armed security operative to come attack them.

According to Mercy, she said the DPO, Ibok unlawfully arrestee her widowed mother and younger sister and also when ahead to assault her also, giving an account of the policemen shooting repeatedly and started beating she and her sister while the had been stripped naked.

She said;

“They bundled my sister and I into their patrol van and took us to the Police Station. I never knew it was the DPO at first. He asked if we were the people causing ‘wahala’? So I asked my mother to join us in the cell. That was when he slapped me until I fell on the ground and fainted”

When Mercy’s mother, Mrs Lucy Okoro was asked about her ordeal, she kept pleading thy the giver come to her rescue as she is tired of been oppressed by policemen and her tenants. She asked that Human Right Organizations come to her aid and that of her family.

However, when the Ekpan Divisional Police Officer, SP Ibok Asanenyi was contacted on the matter, he said he wasn’t never at the venue of the assault and he knows nothing about it.

These family was however tagged liars and everything they had reported was denied and ruled out not to have happened.

It is really sad that families have to go through these and those security operatives who are meant to protect them are the ones used against them.

OAU student accuses another lecturer of sexual harassment

OAU female alumni members said the lecturer cannot be innocent in the allegation peddled against him.

OAU assures that justice will be served in the latest sex-for-mark scandal against one of its lecturers, Olabisi Olaleye. [Daily Post]

Motunrayo Afolayan, a 400-level student of the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Business Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has accused a lecturer, Olabisi Olaleye, of sexual harassment.

The latest sex-for-mark scandal comes barely 23 months after a leaked phone recording showed a randy lecturer identified as Prof. Richard Akindele, seeking sex from a female student for a pass in an examination.

Following the leaked audio recording which stirred controversy among the Nigerian populace, Akindele who was a professor of Accounting at the time, was dismissed from the university and then sentenced to 24 months in prison.

In the latest sex-for-mark scandal rocking the tertiary institution, Premium Times reports that Afolayan, who has since lodged a complaint at the university’s Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, alleged that Olaleye failed her in ‘Diplomacy,’ course code IRS 305.

Accompanied by other female students who also served as witnesses, Motunrayo Afolayan had appeared before OAU panel. [Premium Times]

The lecturer was said to have been teaching the course alongside a female colleague, identified as Omolara Akinyemi.

The torment

According to sources in the university cited by Premium Times, Afolayan had first written the IRS 305 examination during the 2017/2018 academic calendar of the school, but was allegedly failed over her refusal to have sex with Olaleye.

During the next academic year (the 2018/2019 academic session), the student reportedly registered again for the course, but allegedly received repeated threats from the lecturer that “she would fail again and again if she refuses to sleep with him.”

“So, she was in Olaleye’s office and just as predicted, Olaleye held her by the hand and began to fondle her. While he was carried away, the lady turned on the voice recording application on her phone and taped all his vulgar words including the threat," a university source was quoted as saying.

It was however learnt that as soon as Olaleye realised that he's about to be enmeshed in a serious mess, he quickly released Afolayan’s result which he had been withholding alongside a few others. The released result showed that the student passed.

The lecturer's defense

While the female student chose not to speak on the matter because she had been advised to keep sealed lips until the university makes its verdict public, Olaleye said he had earlier submitted a written response to a query from the management, who called him to panel.

Denying harassing Afolayan, the lecturer said the student had approached him to alter the examination timetable when the rerun course had clashed with another course she takes at 400 level.

“I didn’t know her until the timetable issue came up,” Olaleye said. “She approached me with two other ladies but I told them I could not help. I only advised them to go and write their 400 level course first, and return to join us in the hall for my course.”

Olaleye maintained that the delay in the release of Afolayan’s result was due to his co-lecturer, who was busy with accreditation issues.

Living testimonies

Some female alumni members were said to have narrated their similar experiences with the lecturer in question, while they were in school.

One of the alumni who currently lives in the United Kingdom (UK) was quoted as saying, " Olaleye should not escape the wrath of the law this time.

“That man is savage, I must say. He is drunk and very reckless.”

Other alumni members accused some lecturers, especially those they said are close to Olaleye in the faculty, of trying to mount pressure on the panel set up to probe the matter, and secure a soft landing for their colleague.

OAU's stance

Abiodun Olarewaju, the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), expressed confidence that justice would be served in the matter.

He said. “There is no basis for anybody to nurse any fear about the possible outcome of the probe.

“We have since gone past that stage at OAU. Nobody told us before a panel was set up, and the gender centre that was created was aimed at creating unfettered access to justice.”

Olanrewaju maintained that the precedent created with a similar case in the past, should assure the public of the university administration’s commitment to ensuring fairness and justice.

Buhari Supports Goodluck Jonathan As 2023 President

Consistent with the zoning policy that has rationed political power at the national level since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999, the next president is likely and expected to come from the south. The Igbo and Yoruba political class are already working behind the scene and independent of each other to make sure that one of their own occupies the office of the presidency in 2023. Ordinarily, the Igbo should produce the next president being that they have never produced an executive president since Nigeria gained Independence in 1960 but the current Nigerian political climate still seems unresponsive. So the southern elites intend to replicate a strategy that worked in the past and produce a politician from a southern minority group. Observers and analysts alike have noticed that the two biggest parties in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party are actively luring former President, Goodluck Jonathan for another stint at power in 2023.

Rumors of President Buhari backing his political opponent for the 2023 elections was further heightened when Jonathan seemingly worked against party interests to ensure the defeat of Seriake Dickson at the 2019 gubernatorial polls in Bayelsa. Reports emanated from political circles that the Former and current President entered a sort of political arrangement where the Bayelsa strongman would ensure APC’s victory in Bayelsa while the President back his run for another stint at presidential power in 2023.

The Presidency has come out to refute these claims and has described as “false and irresponsible’’ reports that former president, Goodluck Jonathan was blackmailed or lobbied by the presidency to support the governing party, All Progressives Congress, in Bayelsa State governorship election.

In a statement to the press, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, expressed shock that such a story could be considered believable to the point of being given space in some newspapers.

Jonathan’s camp has also brushed aside reports that suggest that the former president was currently mulling a return to Aso Rock. Jonathan’s spokesman, Dr Ikechukwu Eze, replying to these claims said it was not true that the ex-President made comments about 2023 elections.

He said such reports had surfaced on some online platforms in the past, adding that such insinuations never emanated from Jonathan

He added that the ex-President had been busy with his foundation, the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, and its work of promoting peace, sustainable democracy and youth empowerment in Africa.

According to him, Jonathan has not made any comment on the 2023 elections.

‘‘The former President has not made any comment nor spoken to anyone on the coming elections”.

2023 is still distant, political dynamics and affiliations are bound to change in the course of politicking, but presently it seems that the alliance between Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan for the 2023 elections is nothing but wishful thinking.

Residents of Agility community at Mile 12 area of Lagos State are presently filled with anger. This followed the death of an 18-year-old girl, Amaka Nweke.

Amaka was said to have been beaten to death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nweke, for not only dating a Yoruba guy, but also having a baby for him.

According to residents, the parents were not only enraged that Amaka was dating a Yoruba guy, but a Muslim to boot. The parents were alleged to have repeatedly subjected Amaka to torture, including starving her during pregnancy.

Her father, however, has stoically denied touching Amaka, let alone pummelling her to death.

“Is it possible for a parent to kill his own child?” he asked.

Mike may have to confront some many witnesses living in his community, who disclosed that he and his wife were brutal to the girl.

Amaka and her boyfriend, Ibrahim Lawal, were said to have met when she was in Senior Secondary School (SSS). The relationship later resulted into pregnancy, which her parents fumed and kicked against.

She was later delivered of a baby boy, christened Zaeed. Friends said that Amaka went through hell while pregnant for defying her parents.

One of the Nwekes’ neighbours, who gave her name as Adebola, said it was unfortunate that Amaka died in such circumstances.

She said; “Amaka went through a lot. She really suffered.

“When Amaka and Ibrahim were dating, her parents were always threatening her. They told her that they didn’t want her to continue associating with the boy. What broke the camel’s back was Amaka’s becoming pregnant for Ibrahim. Her parents were livid and starved her of food.

“Whenever her parents were beating her, some of us would approach and beg them to stop. They used to beat her with different objects even while she was pregnant. Whenever her boyfriend brought food to her, they would not allow her to have access to it.”

Adebola explained that when Amaka was delivered of her baby, her parents couldn’t afford the medical bill. They had to call on Ibrahim’s family. His family gladly paid up before the new mother was discharged from the hospital.”

People thought that the move would diffuse the tension between the two families, but the Nwekes allegedly returned to status quo.

Adebola added: “After she was released from the hospital, her parents tried to prevent the husband’s family from naming their grandchild. But it took the intervention of the Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA) and some elders in the area before the Nwekes released the baby to them.”

Ibrahim’s mother, Mrs. Ebunola Lawal, said that she reported the repeated beatings of Amaka by her parents to the police.

She said: “When my son impregnated Amaka, I didn’t reject the pregnancy. I was already used to seeing them together. When it was clear to me that Ibrahim was the owner of the pregnancy, I started taking care of the girl as my daughter-in-law. I, however, noticed that whenever I go to give her foodstuff, her mother wouldn’t want her to collect it from me. I used to force her before she would collect it.

“When Amaka was in labour, her parents didn’t inform us. It was Ibrahim who saw her mother take her to hospital and alerted us. I couldn’t go to the hospital that fateful day, but the following day, Ibrahim went to the hospital to check on her and found she was delivered successfully.

“When it was time for mother and child to be discharged from the hospital, Amaka’s parents couldn’t afford the medical bill. They sent for us and we later paid the money. The parents took Amaka and the baby to their house, instead of the father’s house.”

Ebunola recalled that on the eight day of the birth of the child, they went to the Nwekes to name the baby, but were rebuffed.

She said: “We went to Amaka’s house as early as 6a.m. We begged them till noon before they finally released the baby to us with the assistance of some elders in the community.

“The parents also gave us two hours to return the baby. Two weeks after the naming ceremony, my husband and I went back to Amaka’s parents’ house to check on our grandchild, but Mrs. Nweke prevented us from seeing the baby and Amaka.

“When the pressure from her parents to stop seeing Ibrahim was becoming too much, Amaka told Ibrahim to stop coming. She said that they would be discussing on the phone. She told him that whenever he comes to visit her, her parents would pounce on her and beat her mercilessly. Mrs. Nweke didn’t like Amaka’s union with my son.

“The major issue that led to Amaka’ death started on January 1, 2020. This was after she came to our house to collect clothes for herself and the baby, to celebrate the Yuletide. A few minutes after she left our house, she called Ibrahim on the phone that her mother had started beating her for collecting the clothes and money from us. I was informed that her parents collected the baby from her and locked her in their apartment and beat her for two days.

“It was in the process of beating her that she became unconscious. The parents rushed her to hospital in the neighbourhood and they were referred to Gbagada General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead on Sunday. When Ibrahim went to check her at the hospital, she couldn’t stand up or sit. She just lied on the bed. The most annoying aspect of it was that when they were rushing Amaka to hospital, they gave our four-months-old grandson to a neighbour, instead of bringing him to us to mind.”

Ebunola said when she heard that Amaka’s parents had beaten her again she went to the police station at Mile 12 under bridge to lodge a complaint.

She said: “When we went to collect the baby from the woman they gave him to, she refused to release him to us. But out of pressure, she eventually released him. I’ll miss Amaka; she was an easy going girl. I accepted her as my son’s wife because of her attitude. It was her parents that killed her.”

Ibrahim’s brother, identified simply as Alfa, said it was unfortunate that Amaka died in such manner because her parents didn’t want her to marry a Yoruba man.

He said: “There was a day Amaka came to visit Ibrahim, and both of them later came to my house; as I was seeing them off, we saw Amaka’s mother. She was coming to look for her in Ibrahim’s house. Right there in my presence, the woman started hitting the girl and raining curses on her. She warned Ibrahim to leave her daughter alone. Amaka suffered a lot in the hands of her parents because of Ibrahim.”

Amaka’s friend, a nurse, identified as Omotola explained that when the beating was becoming unbearable for the deceased; she sought her assistance.

She said: “Amaka called me and asked that I should rescue her. She said that she didn’t want to die.

“When I didn’t see Amaka for some days, I became worried. I chatted with her up on Facebook, and she told me that she was sick due to the series of beatings she received from her parents. She told me that Ibrahim was bringing money to her to buy drugs. When I couldn’t bear it again, I went to see her. When I saw her, I noticed that her breathing was difficult and terrible. I didn’t like the way she was breathing. I went to a chemist to get her some pain relieving drugs, which I gave to her.

“Before I left, I noticed she was not improving. I quickly called her father on the phone and urged him to take her to hospital. I even suggested taking her to the hospital I work. I heard the following day that the parents didn’t heed my advice. They didn’t take her to hospital that day. They decided to take her to the hospital the following day. I don’t know why they decided to waste the life of that poor girl. Amaka was punished until she died.”

Our correspondent also located Ibrahim and tried to engage him on the issue of Amaka’s death, but he just wept like his heart was breaking. He didn’t say anything.

However, his father, Mr. Bashiru Lawal, said when Amaka was delivered of the baby, his family bought her packs of bottle water, drugs and stuffs for baby and mother.

He said: “But her parents rejected the items.”

But Amaka’s father, Mike, maintained his innocence and that of his wife.

He said: “Is it possible for a father to kill his only daughter, I don’t beat my children. My wife is a woman of virtue; she doesn’t beat our children, she is not a wicked woman. We didn’t beat her because we saw her going to Ibrahim’s house. Everything Ibrahim’s family said was false because now I’m in mourning. I came from a Christian family. I warned my wife to stop disturbing Amaka and Ibrahim. I told my wife that if God said the union was ordained from Him, they would live together as a husband and wife. I have never disturbed them.

“When Amaka took ill, we rushed her to two private hospitals before we were referred to Gbagada General Hospital where she died.”

When asked about Amaka’s baby, Mike said they left the baby with a neighbour in Lagos to take care of him, because he couldn’t take him to Ebonyi State.

He added: “I’m only going to Ebonyi State with Amaka’s mother and siblings.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, said the command was aware of the issue.

He said: “We are waiting for medical report to ascertain the cause of death. Investigation is still ongoing.”

Federal Judge Seems to Side With Democrats in Their Fight to Get Trump’s Financial Records

A federal judge on Tuesday said financial records from U.S. President Donald Trump’s long-time accounting firm would be part of a “proper subject of investigation” by Congress, appearing to side with Democratic lawmakers seeking more oversight of the president.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta in Washington heard oral arguments on whether Mazars must comply with a House of Representatives Oversight Committee subpoena, marking the first time a federal court has waded into the tussle about how far Congress can go in probing Trump and his business affairs.

The judge said that he would issue a ruling as to the validity of the subpoena at a later date.

“My decision will be issued promptly, but it will be issued on a timeline that reflects the gravity of the issues presented,” he said.

In an aggressive response to congressional oversight, Trump is refusing to cooperate with a series of investigations into issues ranging from his tax returns and policy decisions to his Washington hotel and his children’s security clearances.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran would be making “a very bad mistake” if it did anything against the U.S. The President’s comments came before a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Victor Orban of Hungary, who visited the White House on Monday.

“We’ll see what happens with Iran. If they do anything, it would be a very bad mistake,” Mr Trump said.

“If they do anything. I’m hearing little stories about Iran. If they do anything, they will suffer greatly. We’ll see what happens with Iran,” he added.

The remarks were made in response to a question on whether the U.S. was at war with Iran and seeking regime change there.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has migrated to a web-based portal to be used to apply for Visa-On Arrival facility, with effect from May 13.

Its Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James, announced this in a statement on Monday.

James said that prior to the migration to a web-based portal, applicants were expected to forward applications for visa via email or hard copy to the Comptroller General for approval.

The spokesman, however, said that with the web-based regime, applicants would only be required to log onto www.immigration.gov.ng where they could apply for the facility, make payment, and receive approval online.

James said,“The Comptroller-General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede, hereby calls on genui
ne investors to take advantage of the innovation as it improves migration and transparency in the system in line with the Federal Government’s policy of Ease of Doing Business.”

Visa on Arrival is a class of short visit visa issued at the port of entry.

The facility is available to frequently travelled high net worth investors and intending visitors, who may not be able to obtain visa at the Nigerian Missions/Embassies in their countries of residence due to the absence of a Nigerian mission in those countries or exigencies of urgent business travels.

BREAKING: WhatsApp Voice Calls Used to Inject Israeli Spyware on Phones

A vulnerability in WhatsApp allows attackers to inject spyware on the victim's phones. This vulnerability has already been used by an Israeli intelligence company to inject spyware on to phones.

The vulnerability exists on both iPhones and Android phones.

WhatsApp claims to have a patch ready, Duta recommends that all users install them as soon as they are available.

The malicious code, developed by the secretive Israeli company NSO Group, could be transmitted even if users did not answer their phones, and the calls often disappeared from call logs.

WhatsApp is too early into its own investigations of the vulnerability to estimate how many phones were targeted using this method, a person familiar with the issue said.

Trump Praises Hungary Leader Viktor Orban's Record on Immigration After Repeated Human Rights Violations

President Donald Trump praised the controversial prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, on Monday, telling reporters that Orbán has done a good job protecting his country from an influx of immigrants.

“Viktor Orbán has done a tremendous job in so many different ways. He’s highly respected, respected all over Europe. Probably like me a little bit controversial, but that’s OK. That’s OK. You’ve done a good job. And you’ve kept your country safe,” Trump told the prime minister during a joint press conference.

Tuesday was the controversial leader’s first trip to Washington during Trump’s presidency. His stance on immigration in many ways mimics Trump’s. As the president has promoted policies that would send asylum seekers to detention facilities in Mexico as they wait for their claims to be processed, Orbán’s Hungary has constructed holding centers for migrants on its borders. The move was meant to keep migrants, many of whom were fleeing war and violence in the Middle East, from entering the European Union from Serbia.

Last week, the United Nations refugee agency condemned Orbán’s government for forcing asylum seekers to leave Hungary without due process. And despite Trump’s claim that Orbán is respected, his European Union allies have censured his government for violating EU values, and the European People’s Party, a center-right block in the European Parliament to which Orbán’s Fidesz party belongs, has suspended his membership.

Amazon Mistakenly Took Down Religious Ads

Employees from e-commerce giant Amazon have been "mistakenly" taking down ads with religious content that has negatively affected the sale of products from some small sellers.

Multiple sellers have seen their product ads getting suspended in recent months for having religious content. These sellers were told through email that their ads were getting blocked due to a "new policy update" at Amazon which bans any ad that contains "religious content", CNBC reported on Saturday,

Explaining itself on the subject, Amazon said the company is now implementing "corrective training" to clarify what kind of religious material is acceptable.

"Products related to a specific religion are not allowed to be advertised. The email viewed contains inaccurate information and our long standing policies have not changed. Corrective training is being provided to the relevant teams," the report quoted an Amazon spokesperson as saying.

It remains unclear how so many workers collectively misunderstood what the company implied in its policies.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk Shares First Look of Company's First Starlink Internet Satellites

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has shared the first look of the firm's Starlink Internet satellites packed and ready to be launched into orbit in a few days.

Musk posted a photo on Twitter, featuring the first 60 production satellites packed into the fairing of a Falcon 9 rocket ahead of their launch this coming week.

"First 60 @SpaceX Starlink satellites loaded into Falcon fairing. Tight fit," he tweeted late on Saturday.

These Internet satellites represent the company's plan to build an Internet satellite network -- "Starlink". The company is one of several, including Jeff Bezos' Amazon, which are building these so called "constellations" of interconnected satellites to deliver high speed Internet from space.

Musk's SpaceX's ultimate goal is to put nearly 11,000 Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit between now and the mid-2020s, providing high-speed Internet access to areas of the planet where broadband is rare, spotty or non-existent.

This first launch is really just a small part of a long process, and that's provided everything goes according to plan, according to the Engadget.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has rejected the call for breaking up his company, saying the size of Facebook was actually a benefit to its users and for the security of the democratic process.

In an interview with French broadcaster France 2, Zuckerberg dismissed the claim made by his long-time friend and Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes that it is time to break up Facebook as Zuckerberg has yielded "unchecked power and influence" far beyond that of anyone else in the private sector or in the government.

"When I read what he wrote, my main reaction was that what he's proposing that we do isn't going to do anything to help solve those issues.

"So I think that if what you care about is democracy and elections, then you want a company like us to be able to invest billions of dollars per year like we are in building up really advanced tools to fight election interference," Zuckerberg told France 2 while in Paris to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.

In an opinion piece in The New York Times on Thursday, Hughes said the government must hold Mark (Zuckerberg) accountable.

Buhari Asked to Pardon 54 Soldiers in Jail over Mutiny

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to grant presidential pardon to the 54 soldiers who are currently serving a 10-year jail term.

The Islamic human rights organization made the appeal in a press statement issued on Monday by signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

The 54 soldiers were rounded up in 2014 when they complained to their commander that their weapons were too poor to confront better equipped Boko Haram fighters.

They had earlier lost 23 men and four officers due to poor equipment when they advanced on Damboa on July 9, 2014.

MURIC said it is “deeply concerned about the plight of these heroes of Nigeria who have been wrongly treated. Yes, we strongly believe that they have been wrongly treated. They had defended Nigeria on several fronts before the incident. Their comrades fell on the battle field in their presence.

“While other soldiers knew that money meant for weapons were being syphoned into private pockets of top officers but chose to remain quiet, the gallantry and patriotism in the 54 soldiers motivated them to speak up and demand better weapons. Their demand actually exposed the rot in the top military hierarchy regarding the high level corruption involving the diversion of funds meant for weapons.

“It was the eye-opener that led to the popular case of $2.1 billion weapons fund diverted to the 2015 electioneering campaign by the then ruling party. It is therefore paradoxical that the 54 soldiers who exposed corruption in the military are now rotting in jail.

“We in MURIC have been calling for their release since 2015. We have issued several statements on the matter but to no avail. What kind of people are we in this country? How can we leave our heroes to rot in jail? How can we allow the defenders of our territorial integrity to suffer years of alienation and deprivation?”

CBN Speaks on ‘Missing N500bn’ Discussed in Emefiele’s Leaked Audio

The Director, Corporate Communications, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr Isaac Okoroafor has said that no money is missing or stolen from the bank’s coffers as reported in some section of the media.

Okoroafor said this in a statement on Sunday while reacting to a recent article and audio clips in which the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, and other senior officials were heard discussing discrepancies in the bank’s accounts.

Okoroafor said that the audio was distorted in a manner which creates a different impression of the matter being discussed, which was to proffer solutions to a misunderstanding that affected the Bank’s balance sheet.

“As publicly known the CBN was approached in 2015 by the National Economic Management Team and the National Economic Council chaired by the Vice President, to assist State Governments with Conditional Budget Support.

“This happened in the aftermath of the significant nose-dive in global oil prices and associated FAAC allocations.

“In order to ensure that ordinary Nigerian workers got their salaries, pensions and gratuities, and that the economy continued to recover from recession, the Bank provided about N650 billion in loans at 9 per cent with a two-year grace period to 35 States of the Federation.

“These monies were distributed to the states monthly with documented approval of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Presidency.

“In closing the Bank’s 2018 accounts, external auditors in their Draft Account, erroneously classified about N150 billion of these loans as bad, which negatively affected the Bank’s Balance Sheet and shareholders fund.

“The selective conversation being circulated was simply a discussion to ascertain why the auditors took that position and next steps to resolving it."

Eldee The Don, boss of the now moribund rap clan, Da Trybe, has reacted to the recent arrest of “Issa Goal” crooner, Naira Marley, and his colleague Zlatan Ibile by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the lyricist, whose real name is Lanre Dabiri, cybercrime should not be condoned.

In a post on his Twitter handle, the rapper slammed those who see ‘Yahoo’ as a form of reparation for slavery.

Eldee said that he was shocked at the percentage of Nigerians who try to justify the socio-economic malaise.

“One of the early signs of anarchy is when society loses its moral compass. I can’t believe the percentage of Nigerians out there trying to justify fraud.

“When you defraud innocent peopleof their life savings, You could be destroying their lives and that of their children.

”They may leave on a different continent but they are people just like you,” the rapper posted on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile have been reportedly released by the EFCC after intense grilling over their purported links with cyber scam.
