Instead, let's look
at a better use for the money, one that will pay a greater
dividend to you in the long term.

We are talking about your credit score. In a nutshell, there are
three credit reporting agencies in the US that keep close tabs
on your credit history, your outstanding debt, your
debt-to-income ratio and various other pieces of information.
These agencies do not share information about you, so not one of
them has a totally 100% accurate picture of your credit history,
but that is what almost all lenders use to calculate your credit
score.

Your credit score is used to determine your credit worthiness in
the eyes of a potential lender. The average credit score in the
US is around 660, and this is a number that can range from about
350 to around 850. The timeliness that you have historically
shown in making your credit card payments, loan payments, and
mortgage payments are reflected here. You get points subtracted
for being near or over your credit limit on any accounts, and
more points subtracted if you make late payments.

While there is much more that goes into calculating your credit
score, you can use your tax refund to actually increase your
credit score. Say you have a couple of credit cards that are
pretty much maxed out, perhaps even over their limit. Pay off
those cards or at least pay down the majority of the balance,
which will in turn raise your credit score because your debt to
income ratio will look that much better.

Many people just splurge on something when they get their income
tax refund, maybe getting a new car or that huge new plasma TV
or a kitchen remodel job done. But what good does that do you?
Really, nothing in the long run, and paying down some of your
credit cards or loans has a much greater long lasting effect,
which is all to your benefit. You need to put that money where
it will do the most good for you in the long term, not for a
very short term benefit.

The average person in the US has 8 to 10 credit cards, although
credit counseling will advise having no more than 2 or 3. If you
only have 2 or 3 credit cards, then the temptation to max them
out will be less, simply because your credit limits are not
going to be that high to allow you to get into real serious
trouble financially.

The credit bureau gives the most points towards your credit
score for accounts that are paid on time, have never gone over
their credit limit, and have an outstanding balance of between
20-25% of the credit limit. This gives you a comfortable margin
for charging things that you need, but it does not make you
appear to be living on the edge, as it would if you had credit
card account that were consistently at 80% or more of your
credit limit.

Put your income tax refund to work for you. The time and effort
that you put into raising your credit score will pay off in
spades for you in the future.

About the author:
For more insights and additional information about how to Raise Your Credit
Score as well as getting free copies of your credit reports,
please visit our web site at http://www.credit-help-center.com

LCD TV - 6 Advantages Of LCD TVs

Author: Dean Caporella

The LCD TV is really starting to come of age and while they have
dominated the small screen market in recent times over plasma,
it seems it may not be too long before they challenge their arch
rival in the bigger screen areas.

In fact, proto type 55" LCD TVs have already been produced and
if the progress continues to gather momentum they could very
well challenge plasma in the area it is best known for - large
screen televisions.

In this article, let's take a look at some of the advantages of
an LCD TV and why you may consider one for you home over the
next few months.

Advantages Of LCDs

The price of LCD has always been a drawback for most home
theater enthusiasts. The money outlaid for a small screen
television doesn't seem to make sense when for less, you can
purchase a large screen plasma. As mentioned above, that
scenario is likely to change rapidly.

As far as advantages are concerned, here are just a few:

- Very good viewing experience. They will handle any lighting
conditions from a well lit room, an artificially lit room and
even a small light such as that from a lamp. In other words,
your picture wont attract that wash out effect or annoying glare.

- Viewing angle...yes, this was once a bug bear and was one of
the advantages enjoyed by plasma but times have changed and you
could now reasonably expect to be able to view your set from an
angle of 160 degrees.

- The quality of picture is excellent, even life-like. Color is
enhanced to incredible levels and makes the viewing experience
pleasurable. It's almost as if the screen is conveying a smooth
appearance and you won't see annoying lines in your picture.

- It is versatile. An LCD TV can double up as a computer monitor
as well as providing input for just about any video format
around.

- Very easy to set up even for someone who is technically
challenged. Devices of an external nature are always challenging
to someone with little technical knowledge but most LCD TV sets
come with built in tuners.

- You will generally expect to get a minimum of 60,000 hours of
viewing time from your LCD TV. This was one of their big
advantages over plasma although the latter is making up ground
in this area in rapid fashion.

About the author:
Want to learn more about choosing the best home theater TVs? There are many different
items that comprise a home theatre set up, so it's important to
make sure that you have not only enough to cover their actual
cost, but their installation as well.

Once you have decided upon your budget, you must go about
choosing each individual item of home theatre equipment that you
will need. Most people start with the television. The two main
contenders currently available on the market are LCD displays,
which work much better in lighter environments, and plasma
screens, which are the better choice if colour quality is your
primary concern.

All too often, people fall under the impression that bigger is
better, however the reality is, that unless the space between
your TV and where you are sitting is at least four metres, you
should choose a television that is under 40 inches in diameter.
In fact, far more important is to ensure your television is
Hi-Definition (HD) ready.

The next item on your home theatre equipment agenda is a DVD
player. Although there are many cheap versions available, it
pays to go for one that is better quality from a brand name with
a good reputation. Make sure your DVD player is a multi-region
one and that it plays your MP3s, CDs, karaoke CDs, MPEG, and AVI
footage, not just restricted zone-specific DVDs.

Usually, home theatre equipment includes a number of speakers to
provide surround sound, not just stereo sound. The placement of
these can be at the front and back of the room in a bracketed
system, or from above, in a floating system mounted within a
false ceiling. That said, many large plasma screens today come
with a pseudo-surround system built in, some of which are
surprisingly good.

If you have several speakers, naturally, you will also need an
amplifier, with wattage compliant with the size of your room,
amount of speakers, and decibel level requirements. However, a
word of warning: don't bother buying one if it's not Dolby
Surround Sound as the quality will be very poor and not worthy
of the price you have paid.

Should you wish to include a satellite system within your home
theatre set up, then you will need to buy a satellite dish,
receiver, and decoder, all of which have to be connected to your
home theatre equipment using cables, ideally of a better quality
such as gold or silver, rather than the traditional copper.
Alternatively, a thicker copper cable would be equally as
effective, and last longer than standard ones.

Finally, although not imperative, there is one item which is a
nice touch to your home theatre set up and that's a "bass
shaker". This little device attaches to the base of the chair
and vibrates with the bass tones to mimic a cinema feel, very
effectively. They add a nice touch and are an extremely
well-priced item amongst the many on your home theatre equipment
list.

About the author:
Are You Lying Awake At Night Beating Yourself Up With What-Ifs
And Desperately Searching For that best buy Home Theatre System.
Well Now You Can Save Both Money and Time !
http://www.buyhometheatresystems.com

Sony And The Sony Bravia HDTV Range

Author: Kozan Huseyin

Article:
The Sony bravia range is another commitment from Sony to be
earnest to its Sony style way of working. Sony's Bravia High
definition television comes in several elegant models, all
designed with the best technology in mind, while also producing
a Hdtv set which looks great in your home.

Sony has been an industry leader in electronics for consumers,
and the company is certainly well-known for its introduction of
the very first personal portable cassette player - the Walkman.
Sony has been leap years ahead with its technology in television
sets. And the Trinitron technology has filtered through the
years, getting better and better to 'WEGA'. Sony now brings us
the Bravia range of high definition Tv sets. In fact the Sony
Trinitron technology was such a major breakthrough in telly
technology that in May 1973, Sony became the first Japanese
company to receive an Emmy for developing the Trinitron colour
Television system.

When the Bravia hd tv first was released the range of Sony hd tv
bravia products was priced beyond which most would have been
willing to pay. But, as people like you and me have seen the
benefits of Hd tv technology, more and more population have
purchased a Sony bravia hdtv set. This has worked to our
benefit, as the prices of Sony bravia hd tv sets have reduced in
price, and finding a Sony hd tv at the best prices is fully
possible.

Sony Bravia HD Tvs (formerly named the Wega) are some of the
company's most recent products, and you're sure to find a Sony
HD Television that's right for you! Although these Sony LCD HD
Tvs were initially somewhat high-priced, they are somewhat more
reasonable now. The Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 is a 40-inch model
that retails for close to $2200. Regardless, they do provide
some of the best pictures that you can get on a LCD Tv. Although
LCD HD Tvs may not quite be able to compete with plasma HD Tv,
Sony has certainly done a nice job with the rebranded Bravia
line. At cnet.com, the Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 HD Tv got a
rating of 7.7 from the editors on a ten-point scale. The Sony
Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 also had an average user rating of 8.4 (from
87 users).

::: Where To Buy A Sony hdtv bravia Set? ::: You can buy a Sony
bravia set from many places. Local electrical stores stock Sony
Bravia range of Hd tv sets. Also online many places sell the
Sony bravia hdtv range of Hd tv sets.

Finding a great Sony hdtv bravia set for your home is a
possiblility. With a crystal clear picture, and a much improved
quality of picture, owning a Sony hdtv bravia set was only
prohibitive to most inhabitants due to the high costs. Now the
Sony hd tv bravia range of Hd tv sets have come down in price,
making it possible for everyone to own a High definition
television set.

About the author:

Sony Supplier - the premier source for the Sony Bravia

Reviews, LCD HDTV
sale and more. Very few won't feel this way if they
dedicate a few days to examine the many advantages Digital TV.
Lots of reasons exist that has made Digital TV to be preferred
to Cable TV.

If you are one that always like information, then the Digital TV
offers you not just access to all the information you need, but
also access to the right channels. Lots of channels now exist on
Digital TV -- from move channels to information channels. Now
your kids can choose from the varied channels available...
thanks to Digital TV.

It doesn't cost an arm and a foot to own Digital TV
subscription. Digital TV is easier on the budget of users than
Cable TV. Almost everyone that thinks of this is just so
surprised. More should cost more, not less.

Digital TV gives you more... for far less investment. The real
beauty with Digital TV isn't just in the MANY channels it
provides, but in the variety If you are Digital TV subscriber,
you are not restricted by the number or variety of channels to
watch. Cable TV certainly can't compare with Digital TV in this
regard.

Having discussed the impact that Digital TV has had on our lives
how does this impact upon the Panasonic TH-37PV500 Digital TV.

The TH-37PV500 is a 37in Plasma TV and these TV's at present can
be found in the region of 1800 pounds sterling or 3900 US
dollars. The resolution of the screen is 1024 X 720 and with
regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Panasonic has 3
(2 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces
the TH-37PV500 uses is HDMI and 1. The type of Tuner for this TV
is Analogue and Digital and the Panasonic is available from
limited outlets only.

So how would we rate the Panasonic TH-37PV500?

Well to start with our score for the picture quality is 10, next
we would look at the sound quality and our view of this would be
10. With regards to the availability and number of relevant
connections, our score would be 10. With regards to the overall
level of features, our view would be 8 and the final individual
verdicts would relate to the ease of use and overall value for
money and our scores here would be, 10 and 10 respectively.

Taking everything into consideration our overall view of the
package would be this TV has to be one of the top buys on the
market and if you shop around can be found quite a bit below the
major asking price if you are lucky.

The fact is that given the wide variety of models and makes
available today you should find something that suites your needs
as well as your wallet. You could be completely avant-garde and
stay in the forefront of fashion and design or you could decide
to take perhaps the safer option and go for one of the
established makes and models available. Either way we hope that
by reading this short article you should have a slightly more
informed view of the options available to you

Please be aware that the prices quoted in this article are taken
from a number of leading e-commerce websites and as such should
be taken as guides and indications of prices rather than
absolute quotes.

About the author:
Scott James writes quite regularly on the Internet about TV and
Home Entertainment issues and more on the above can be found at
lcd flat screen tv and
also at http://lcdflatscreentv.biz

Merry Christmas To My Readers!

I am on Christmas break as of today (well sort of, I still have to cook, clean, and bake!) but I wanted to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and happy holidays from my family to yours! Modern TVs have evolved from
CRTs, with the introduction of LCD and Plasma flat screen TVs
that are gaining popularity in the global markets. When people
talk about home theater systems today, they almost always refer
to an LCD or Plasma TV as the centerpiece for the room. However,
high defenition CRTs actually offer certain advantages over
their "modern" cousins, and you should consider these
differences before writing off CRTs as an option.

Heat Management - all electronic equipment generates heat when
it operates. CRTs are on the "medium" end of this scale, with
LCDs creating the least internal heat and Plasmas the most.
However, CRTs are the LEAST sensitive to heat exposure, meaning
in temperate climates, LCDs and especially plasma screens will
deteriorate faster than a CRT.

Light Refraction - LCDs and Plasma TVs are flat screens because
their method of displaying images uses small machines inside the
pixels of the actual TV screen, whereas a CRT uses a bulkier
device inside the TV to project the image onto the screen. This
makes CRTs much less sensitive to changes in lighting inside a
room. LCDs, for example, can't display the color "black"
effectively due to the fact that it's LCDs block and filter
light to generate an image. Plasmas, on the other hand, generate
light within each pixel, so light from outside sources reflect
more off a plasma screen than a CRT. Overall, this makes CRTs
more stable in terms of their display quality.

Unit Screen Size - As far as screen size is concerned, CRTs and
LCDs aren't quite as large as Plasma TVs. Plasma screen
technology allows for the creation of larger screens by far than
either LCDs or CRTs. Additionally, CRTs are bulky compared to
the other two flatscreen TV types so this is one area where CRTs
lose out.

Tube Lifespan - CRT TVs are on the medium end of the spectrum
here. Plasma screen TVs have the longest lifespan before the
displays burn out, and LCD TVs degrade the fastest. However, due
to the high heat generated by plasma screens, they can actually
die out as quickly as an LCD screen in hotter climates and with
prolonged use. The main lifespan advantage of a CRT over
flatscreens is that it's lifespan doesn't severely shorten if
the unit is used frequently and repeatedly. It's the perfect
movie marathon device.

About the author:
For more information about the best
home theater screen and finding home theater system reviews visit http://www.Home-Theater
-Ideas.com

Shopping For Dad This Holiday

Author: Lisa M

Article:
Shopping for Dad always seems pretty easy. They always seem to
like whatever you give him. Why not make it special and really
give him something to smile about this holiday season.

One suggestion for a gift for Dad might be the traditional
tools. A man can never have enough tools for projects around the
house. By giving him his favorite tool, one could achieve
several things. First, he gets a smile on his face. Second, your
home projects might actually get done. Finally, he has a toy of
his own.

Another gift idea would be electronics.

These would range from MP3 Players/IPODs to GPSs and TVs. They
are all great ideas. MP3 Players/IPODs can be taken everywhere
and can plug into his car or treadmill. He will enjoy his music
while he is either driving or running. Maybe even watch a game
or movie on his IPOD. Of course the game would look even better
on a brand new television. There are plenty of options between
LCD, Plasma and Projection TV. Don't forget the GPS. Men,
especially Dad, will not want to ask for directions this holiday
season. Save him the trouble with a new GPS system. This way
everyone gets where they need to go safely and on time.

Moms are always expected to look nice for the holidays. Well men
are starting to take their personal hygiene seriously. There are
plenty of products out there to help Dad look and feel his best.
These can range from new electric shavers, to nose trimmers, to
fog-free mirror in the shower, and maybe even a massage toy to
help Dad relax after a long day. All these would contribute to
Dad looking and feeling better during the holidays. Dad may even
want his favorite cologne or hair product. Surprisingly more and
more men are starting to really take an interest in how they
look and smell. I am sure moms appreciate this.

Sports, many argue, are the man's domain at home. Why not spoil
Dad this holiday season with tickets to go and see his favorite
team play? Another suggestion could be sports memorabilia. Does
Dad have a favorite team or player? Maybe get him a poster,
jersey, signed card or ball. Maybe Dad doesn't watch sports,
maybe he likes to play. This holiday, upgrade his sports
equipment. He will think of you every time he plays. Or maybe
Dad doesn't play sports, but enjoys the competition of a good
poker game. Give him something to play this winter like a poker
set, table and a poker book. The game is so hot right now and he
can invite his buddies over for a nice friendly home game.

Apparel and accessories for Dad work well as a holiday gift.
Great suggestions could be a new jacket, work out clothes,
sweaters, or even a nice tie! Dad should really throw away that
old holey shirt and you can replace it with one from his school
alma mater. Maybe he could use a nice black sweater or ski
jacket to keep him warm and in style. Watches are also a nice
addition to Dad's wardrobe. They are both functional and
contribute to that finished look that makes Dad look complete.

All of these suggestions of holiday gifts I am sure will put a
happy face on Dad. Some you can enjoy as a family and others Dad
can enjoy by himself or with his buddies. After all, holiday
gifts are wonderful to receive and put to use and with these
suggestions you will surely not disappoint dear ole Dad.

About the author:
Find Savings, Coupons
and Deals at FindSavings.com. This refers to
the amount of light getting into the room where you will have
your home theater system installed. There is no doubt about it
that a projector and screen will not work as effectively as you
would like if there is a lot of ambient light present, so a set
of blackout curtains or blinds is a very good addition to make
to your room. Of course if your viewing is going to take place
in a window-less cellar, then this isn’t an issue. Plasma TVs
do not have this problem.

What are the advantages of each providing you have created a
level playing field â€" a room with no ambient light to affect
the projector. The main advantage of a projector I would suggest
is the much larger picture than is available in plasma.
Projectors can produce images comparable to an 81-inch screen
and larger. This just isn't possible with a plasma screen.

However, plasmas have the advantage of not being dependent on
the size of available. A projector must have a long enough
distance to project its image onto the wall or screen. To get an
81-inch or greater image, you need a fair distance between the
projector and the target.

You also have to bear in mind that a projector's image is
dependent on more than the quality of the projector; you must be
projecting onto a suitable, specialized surface or you will lose
much of the detail that you should be receiving.

A top quality HD projector with a very high native resolution
would be wasted if you were just projecting the image onto a
wall. You need an equally high quality projector screen with
features such as a matte finish to eliminate reflection and
glare. A plasma display requires no additional equipment.

Overall, there are clearly pros and cons with both. A projector
no doubt has the edge in terms of sheer size of viewing area,
which I suppose is what a home theater is trying to create. It
is also however rather more expensive than a plasma TV and you
have to consider your overall budget.

If you have a room set aside to do the thing properly, with no
ambient light and a decent budget, I would go with a good
quality projector and screen every time.

However if you are just looking to upgrade your existing TV in
your living room which is reasonably small and has several
windows, I would probably recommend a new plasma TV rather than
the projector.

About the author:
For lots more information and advice on home theater projectors,
screens, seating etc., go right now to
http://www.home-theater-projector-tips.com. We do. We may not have not suffered
the intense trauma of literally spiraling downward amidst the
chaos, confusion, disorder, and derangement of an actual plane
crash (of course, neither did you), but we are about to lose the
most promising season of television in years.

You’ve all heard by now that the WGA is on strike. If you
happen to be one of the few people on the internet old enough to
remember the last time this happened (1988) then you remember
life before reality TV… and you share our pain at the
evolution of the world’s most inaptly named genre. While
it’s true that we occasionally love to hate reality shows,
it’s also true that we vaguely blame them for the downfall of
civilization as we once hoped to know it. In fact we
recently conducted a completely unscientific poll asking some of
our favorite webbers to name the best and worst shows on
television; Kid Nation won both categories. (While some fans
love the purity of interaction which can only occur between two
children, an equal number of viewers just want to dig their eyes
out with a spoon whenever Jared comments.)

For those of you who don’t remember the last strike, not to
worry. You’re about to get a taste of just how potently a
well-organized union can really affect your life… Entourage is
about to go poof. As are 30 Rock, House, Gray’s Anatomy,
Jericho (#&*!), The Office, My Name Is Earl, Heroes, Rescue Me,
Dirt, K-Ville, NCIS, CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, CSI In the
Holy Land (it could happen), and a barrage of other shows you
have so flippantly taken for granted by expecting someone in the
real world to actually write the silly things (Jericho possibly
notwithstanding - we love you Skeet!). This is of course in
contrast to the shows which have already gone poof, such as The
Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live, and pretty
much all of late-night. Just be glad the soap operas and Ellen
have more integrity than that.

The current strike is both complex and important, and not just
because we’re gonna miss the everlovin’ crap out of Steve
Carrell and Jon Stewart. Though the overly simplistic summary
is that writers want more money, what’s really at stake here
is the future of entertainment technology. With the advent
of gadgets like iPods and DVR’s, television has entered the
digital age and viewers have taken control over what they watch
- which means a “Yes” to high dramedy, and a big fat
“NO!” to commercials. The result is that the corporations
that advertise on TV networks are losing money, which means
Sumner Redstone and Rupert Murdoch are losing money. And if we
can be sure of anything in today’s culture of
mega-conglomerated, super-monopolistic corporations, we can be
sure that when these guys lose money, heads roll in a big bad
way. Trouble is, it’s usually the wrong heads.

Enter writers, stage left.Someone has to make up for the
dollars/euros lost by advertisers, and you can be damn sure
that someone is NOT going to be Redstone, Murdoch, or any of the
other uber-beneficiaries of your hard earned consumer dollars.
Instead, networks are passing the loss down the entertainment
ladder to the writers. Most of the public has no direct
emotional connection to the writers; we don’t idolize them, we
idolize the actors. So we don’t have an immediate visceral
reaction to reports that writers are getting the shaft. After
all, they make bucu bucks compared with us. Why should we stop
nursing, or fixing cars, or teaching kids, or fighting fires, in
order to jump up and support them? So the writers are giving us
a reason. We should support them because Matthew Fox is pretty,
but he does not write the show. Not only does the strike affect
viewers, but it brings the celebrities and their hard-hitting
publicity value into the arena. When the writers don’t work,
celebrities don’t work. When celebrities don’t work, people
notice. Low and behold, here we all are, noticing. The networks
say they can’t pay writers for shows being downloaded, but the
writers are slinging their own words back at them. And the
writers are right.

What will be the outcome? Only time will tell, but if it’s
true that history repeats itself we can expect a few things.
Reality TV, or some other relatively inexpensive and probably
mindless genre, will take center stage. This is bad news because
with so much crap already on the air, reality shows will have to
outdo themselves, and the results will no doubt be ugly. Also,
the networks will accuse writers of being greedy, and will
ironically appeal to the average joe’s ever-thinning wallet as
proof of this greed. Fortunately, the writers will put up a
pretty entertaining fight, mostly because they know how to
invoke an emotional response in their audience. In fact, the
best thing they could probably do for their cause would be to go
ahead and script the strike. There’s not going to be fook-all
else to watch anyway. Certainly they will use the most
celebrified amongst their ranks to spread their cause, and
eventually they will come to some agreement that is mutually
unsatisfactory to both sides, because everyone loses if the
strike goes on too long. Viewers were lost in droves after the
1988 strike, and have never returned in numbers proportional to
pre-strike audiences.

Which means the good news is that all this really boils down
to you - the viewer. How long you’re willing to endure without
the writers is in direct relation to what the strike will
achieve. The longer you hold out, the more power the writers
will have, and the more integrity television shows will
hopefully gain. Now is the time to choose your stance, because
networks are about to become obscure, and they don’t like it
one little bit. Technology will soon reach the point that you
will be able to download everything on demand, and then there
will be no time-slots or captive audiences. The Redstones of the
world are vying for control of that technology, while the
writers are wrestling to pull some of that control back to you,
the viewers. Their stake is in you, because they believe you
would prefer to watch shows involving at least one thought
process over the tripe you’d otherwise be fed by network execs
whose real job is to sell advertising time. You watch what you
like, and if Sumner wants to sell you crap, he’ll have to find
a way to make you want to watch the pitch. If he doesn’t, you
can just tune in to the next episode of LOST and tell him
you’d rather keep your cash. Yeah, you might end up paying a
dollar or so for the privilege, but wouldn’t you rather pay a
dollar to watch something you like, than watch what this guy
tells you to for free? The best news about this whole strike
is that you the viewers are unofficially in charge. For once,
someone with some power is banking on your integrity and
far-sightedness to shift the greater power structure. The
networks will deny this fact to the ends of their days, but
this is your last best chance to have a real effect on how
much control consumers will actually have over the new digital
market.

About the author:
The author operates Lazlo's Basement, a
website which examines the political side of pop culture. The process of technology is
unending. Technology has been integrated to many things and the
most visual example of that technology integration is on
televisions.

Television or what they call "boob tube" evolved in the early
1930's. There has been a lot of development as the years passed.
Currently the most talked about when it comes to televisions are
the so called "Plasma TV".

Now, what exactly is a Plasma TV? Maybe some of you would just
say that it is a wide slim TV that you can hang around in your
room where you want it or when you want it. Now, the bottom line
is this, Plasma TV is not just your ordinary TV. The display
that you will actually see is made up of thousand cells. These
cells are glass compartments infused with a certain gas called
"neon-xenon gas". This gas is now plasma suspended.

So what now is plasma? Plasma is a matter that contains number
of particles that are electrically charged. When the neon -xenon
gases are then electrically charged, it will give phosphors of
different colors, such as red, blue and green. These colored
elements are the pixels that are contained in the Plasma TV.

Now what are the Plasma TV advantages?

It's very easy to watch. A Plasma TV works well under any light
conditions. Even the brightest of the lights can't wash out the
pictures. Your Plasma TV screen will not be affected by the
glares of backlight unlike the ordinary TVs that you have to set
it in such a place where you can see it easily and clearly. Plus
it is such a cool TV, very sleek and stylish.

It is wide; the picture is very colorful and smooth. Maybe you
actually notice in the ordinary televisions that sometimes there
are annoying lines running through the display. In Plasma TV's
you will not encounter such things because they are made up of
pixels, making a more colorful and smooth images. Truly a Plasma
TV gives a superb resolution, an exceptional color that sets it
apart from other televisions.

Plasma TV is multi functional. Different inputs are
included in Plasma displays such as video, component video and
one to two RGB inputs right from your computer. The average life
span of a Plasma TV is for about three and half years even if
you watch and use it 24/7.

A different technology was used in the Plasma TVs. Most TVs
suffer distortions brought about by some magnetic fields. Plasma
TVs are not affected by this even if you put it near the
speakers.

Plasma TV design is very unique, it is slim and has a very light
weight. An important
consideration in choosing the right screen is indeed in the
universal input capability and what other inputs you may need.
The higher quality plasma TVs on the market come with the
digital inputs such as HDMI or DVI that accept HDTV signals from
satellite or cable box (and sometimes DVD players as well) in an
all-digital format. Most of the Plasmas you will come across
also include a VGA or DVI PC input which is for allowing your
plasma television the ability to act as a PC monitor if needed.

When choosing your plasma television, be sure to consider the
displays (such as the Panasonics and Pioneers) which are
specifically aimed at commercial broadcast installations. These
models are constructed with input boards that are
interchangeable. This is an advantage since it allows you to
configure your plasma display individually in order to meet your
personal viewing needs.

There are certain elements throughout our society's environment
(such as loudspeakers) which contain strong magnets. This can
distort the standard TV picture if placed too close. Plasma
televisions have risen above this problem since they do not use
electron beams and they are immune to the magnetic fields
effects. This is also proven to be very useful when crossing
into the Southern Hemisphere. Many boats now use plasma displays
since they are not susceptible to the change in the Earth's
magnetic fields.

About the author:
Stephanie Hammonds Hot Sales - Don't Wait! Here's are some
pointers keep them in mind before you rush out and buy your
first flat panel TV. Of course, it is extremely important to
compare them to see which factors come to the top of your
priority list. Both Plasma and LCD TVs have their pros and cons,
but there are 6 main factors which should be considered when
deciding.

1 - Quality of the Picture: Plasma TVs are known to have sharper
contrast ratios which results in better blacks and whites than
LCD TVs. This is because in the LCD technology, the crystals can
not shut off all the light completely because of the bright
backlight. This results in light leakage through the picture
which makes it impossible to get absolute black with the LCD.

And although the Plasma TVs are able to produce better color
saturation, the resolution of the LCD TVs are higher than that
of Plasma TVs. This means that you may get greater details when
watching your high definition video programs.

2 - Size of the Screen If you looking for a really big screen,
then Plasma TVs are for you as they are available in sizes up to
60 inches. The maximum size of the LCD TVs goes up to 40 inches.
And when it is time to compare prices on both televisions for
the same screen size, you will quickly realize that the LCD TVs
are more expensive.

3 - Viewing Angles If many people will be watching your TV, then
a Plasma screen is definitely the way to go since it has a much
wider viewing angle than LCD TV. Your guests will easily be able
to view the TV from either left or right side of the Plasma
screen without any of the loss of image which is inherent of LCD
TVs.

4 - How much Power it Consumes Think Green! LCD TVs are the
winner here as power consumption for LCD TVs is 30% less than
that of Plasma TVs. Further more, Plasma TVs generate more heat
and if you live in an air-conditioned home, keep in mind that
can be affected if you watch a lot of TV.

5 - Response Time of Shows Plasma TV are better at handling fast
moving images better than LCD TVs. This is very beneficial if
you enjoy action movies or sports programs. Traditionally, LCD
screens provide viewers with more of a blur when showing moving
images. However, this may no longer be that much of an issue
since as the response time for LCD TV has come down to as low
as12 milliseconds.

6 - Burn-in Effect (ouch!) Plasma TV suffers from this
particular effect called burn in. You get a permanent ghost like
image stuck on your screen. "The Burn" will occur when you have
static display over a long period of time, so avoid that
whenever possible and try not to pause one image on your screen
for any length of time.

Now that you have the facts, you will be better equipped to make
an informed decision on your next TV purchase with complete
confidence.

About the author:
Stephanie Hammonds Hot Sales - Don't Wait! Since the new
plasma televisions offer a perfectly flat screen they can now
even compete with a CRT TV in terms of viewing angles. This
allows anyone in the room to enjoy a clear, bright picture
(without having to sit directly in front of the monitor).

Plasma televisions have a widescreen 16:9 ratio. Yes, you are
all familiar with the wide screen view that the movies are
presented in while watching them in the theater, but but the
original intent of the widescreen aspect was to match the
natural view of what the human eye sees. So a widescreen plasma
TV takes these factors into account and therefore allows you to
watch television programs as well as high definition movies in
the format their director originally intended. Especially since
this format is also perfect for HDTV content (either being
broadcast through digital cable or satellite TV, over the air).

Plasma television screens display a more evenly lit and visually
smooth image. This is due to the fact that they don't have scan
lines since every pixel cell has its very own transistor
electrode. This fancy technological jargon simply means that the
plasma monitors now include a built-in line doubling technology
and this increases the quality of the image it receives from the
video signals (which through with a lower resolution).

Plasma televisions have a higher resolution than other TV sets
They are also capable of showing full HDTV and DTV signals
(along with XGA, SVGA and VGA computer signals).

Plasma televisions are head and shoulders above the rest when it
comes to color accuracy. Today, the new plasma televisions
display billions of colors, which displays an extremely smooth
gradation in between even the most subtle shades. This results
in an overall picture that's is truly lifelike. Plasma TVs offer
the best color reproduction of any flat panel TV technology on
the market today with more improvements being tweaked and made
with every passing year in plasma television production.

About the author:
Stephanie Hammonds Hot Sales - Don't Wait! These problems have largely been
overcome in recent years, and LCD televisions, along with plasma
displays, have taken over the dominant market position worldwide
from cathode ray displays. Some manufacturers are also
experimenting with extending colour reproduction of LCD
televisions.

LCD

LCD televisions are usually brighter than plasma TVs, and many
can double as a computer monitor or media-center display. LCD
Television technology has advanced greatly, particularly with
respect to the reproduction of black levels. LCD televisions are
now coming out bigger and at prices that are really starting to
compete with those of similar-size plasma TVs.

The technologies found in these big televisions eventually
trickles down to smaller, higher-volume sets. LCD televisions
are also beginning to challenge plasmas in sales in the 40-inch
and above categories, where plasma has been dominant, Fujiomoto
added. Global demand for LCD televisions will rise from 42
million units in 2006 to 69. By 2010, LCD television shipments
are expected to rise to 128 million units.

Television

The output at Kameyama, along with allowing Sharp to make more
televisions, is also allowing the company to come out with a
wide variety of them. The company now has four separate lines of
LCD televisions, ranging in technical sophistication. Some of
the televisions coming out this year will feature a refresh rate
of 120 hertz; double the current 60-herz standard. In the second
quarter, Sharp is expected to come out with a line of LCD
televisions for gamers that will cut down any latency between
the game console and action on the television.

The system will be capable of sending two separate
high-definition video streams between PCs and televisions
through a home's electrical system. With Blu-ray and HD-DVD
delivering true high definition content, Philips has come to the
party with a true high definition LCD television in the Cineos
37PF9731/69. As a 1080p panel, it can screen high definition
television, Blu-ray and HD-DVD in all their glory rather than
down scaling them to fit on a 720p display. The television
sports two HDMI inputs for connecting to HD sources, plus
component, composite, s-video, SCART and VGA. Disappointingly it
doesn't have an onboard digital television tuner.

Ambilight shines coloured light on to the wall behind the
television to match whatever is on the screen, creating a halo
of colour around the television that changes with the image. You
can't see the actual Ambilight tubes when you're sitting in
front of the television; they're hidden behind the bezel and
pointing back at the wall. This isn't a problem if the
television is wall-mounted in a location where you'll never have
to see the lights, such as at the end of a long, narrow room.
But if the television is against one of the long side walls,
with the Ambilights visible off to the sides, it will give
everyone else in the room the irrits very quickly even if it's
just in their peripheral vision.

About the author:
Clint Thomas is a successful Webmaster and publisher of
