Virtual city is a great game. I have been addicted since I bought it, and play for hours every day. It shows cause and effect nicely (who wants to live in a city over run with garbage) which makes the population unhappy. Get dumpsters in, clean out the garbage and bring the people back. Cut down to many trees and your environment level goes down, build more fountains, add more trees and the level goes back up! It has several production lines, build cars, furniture, pies, and electronics, and you have many different resources to use to build them. This game works like Bejeweled, but with an aquarium theme. The colors and music are soothing, the levels are challenging, but never (so far) impossible. If you don't complete a level before time runs out, you can try again until you do. You earn money rather than points, and use it to decorate three aquariums, which you can then use as screen savers.

The reason I gave it only four stars is that it took very little time to complete the aquariums, and I wish that aspect had been more challenging. I've been playing the game for months, because it's fun, and a great way to relieve stress, but now I have over a million dollars and nothing to do with it.

This game is fantastic! Not like most of the newer games these days. Easy to start playing immediately. Yesterday after a horrible episode our family came home, all of us emotionally drained. I started showing my husband The Scruffs game I bought the night before, and we were immediately hooked. Next thing you know, here comes our autistic son actually joining in! He calmed down and got completely engrossed in the game. We all sat and played together and had a very good time doing it. It is really good for just relaxing and escaping. Best of all it is one of the few things we can do together as a family. This is a great game! Fun and challenging. I got addicted to restaurant/cooking games every since I placed Order Up on Wii and Restaurant City on Facebook, and have been playing them like mad. I love the concept of this game and the challenge of having to search for every ingredient, though it does make your eyes hurt from staring at the screen for so long, but only because you're so hooked. The only problem I saw with the game is that in the 1st level of the sushi restr. the expert goal seems a little high for that phase and I could never quite reach that goal even though I excelled in every other phase and levels of that particular restaurant and all of the other restaurants. First the good. I enjoyed the fact that this game contained a series of word games. I haven't encountered this in any of the other games I played.

In the Hidden Object Scenes, there is a clever twist where for at least one of the objects you have to find you are given a phrase, like "lemon-lime", and you have to find two objects (in this case a wedge of lime and a wedge of lemon)and combine them.

There are mystery morphing objects in each scene. When you find a certain amount, you unlock additional Hidden Object scenes to play.

The bad (at least for me): like another reviewer says, there is a lot of repetition, and revisiting scenes over and over. For one group of scenes, you are finding x amount of 2 objects (like in the Magician scene where you are finding a crescent moon and card suite symbols) and they are very difficult to find.

The puzzles that aren't word related require more skill than brains to complete for the most part. They are similar to carnival games you would find in the real world.

But here's what really bugs me: the ending of the game. Without giving too much away (but SPOILER ALERT, just in case), the solution to the mystery makes no sense unless you have played another game in the MCF series! Seriously? It just comes out of left field and has nothing to do with the rest of the game. Shameless plug alert!

I really enjoyed the first Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes, so I bought the second one as soon as it was released. I was not disappointed, and I enjoyed this game just as much as the first. The gameplay and style are exactly the same as the first game, but the sequel offers new cases. For those unfamiliar with the series, this is primarily a hidden object game, punctuated by logic-style puzzles at the end of each chapter. The game features a series of Sherlock Holmes cases, and you must search a variety of locations to find clues to solve the mystery. Each location reveals a number of potential suspects, and the conclusion involves solving a logic and memory puzzle to determine which party is guilty. The cases are well-written, and the hidden object scenes are appropriate to the time and place in question (late-19th c. London). The suspects are believable, and the objects one must find to discover suspects are appropriate to the story (perfume bottles for the mistress of a prominent politician, for example). Those who enjoyed the first game will certainly want to play the second. Don't expect innovation, just more of what made the first game fun. The Mystery Case Files games are universally well-done, and this one is no exception. The artwork is excellent, the scenes are well-drawn and the objects are well-hidden. The storyline involves investigating a series of suspects to figure out which one is the criminal. The suspects were drawn with a sense of humor, there's a vacuous socialite, a singing diva with a screechy voice, an out-of-work robot. The game is engaging enough to keep one playing until the end to see who the ultimate culprit is. This game was first released about four years ago, and hidden object games have come a long way since then. At the time of its release, this game was entirely new and innovative. I love this free game on Yahoo, but made the mistake of buying the downloadable version of it here on Amazon.com. The Amazon downloader that is required before you can download the game would not work. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, I gave up! Out of frustration, I bought the CD ROM version and I'm waiting for that to arrive in a week or so. Unless you know alot about computers and changing your Firewall settings to download games, I would just save yourself some frustration and buy the game on CD ROM. Lots of bonus content, two play modes, beautiful scenes as usual, and this time there's voice acting! Bonus content includes mp3s of the music in the game, wallpapers of the art, a screensaver, and a bonus chapter that is like a prologue for the next game, Book of Water.

The two modes are Casual and Challenge, but challenge mode doesn't mean timed, it means you can't skip puzzles and according to the description the puzzles are harder. I only played on challenge mode so I can't say whether the puzzles are significantly more difficult or not. Gameplay is in the same style as the previous games, and there are dream pieces to collect just like before, and you'll need them to gain skills required to progress. There are plenty, though, so don't worry if you don't always find every single piece.

Personally I found this game much much shorter than the previous game, which was probably the best one so far (Dream Chronicles the Chosen Child). In fact I think this game was shorter than a lot of "casual" games, which is saying something about the shortness. I would say it took me a total of 3 hours at the absolute most. So, in that respect, I don't think it's worth the full price it's set at right now. This is a great game.

I purchased is beacuse of the fantastic graphics and the nonviolent story line- I wasn't disappointed. It is appropriate for both adults and older children but it shouldn't be considered "simple" by any stretch on the imagination.

After playing it twice, I splurged and bought the two additional games in the set.

I got hooked on burger shop I, but even more with burger shop II! Caution! - This game can become extremely addicting! I mean, I have things to do, but starting this game can keep me away from such duties! If you are the type of person that does not mind staying up throughout the wee-hours of the morning playing games, this could be a great fit for you! Text Twist 2 is perfect for those who, like me, never tire of unscrambling jumbled words. This is a great game to play on the Untimed setting when you have only a few minutes to spare. You can either leave it sitting or quit (it will Save) without losing your game.

The gameplay of my favorite section is basic and enduring (similar to Pogo's Word Whomp). Though you must find the whole jumbled word to continue without a penalty, it's not necessary to find all the smaller words that can be made from the main word, once you've unscramble the main word, I like that option.

I've been playing this every evening after dinner for what seems like an eternity. It doesn't move forward, no end in sight, just journal entry after journal entry that doesn't seem to be leading to a conclusion. I have to explain that I do not sit down and play for hours on end, I play for a short time after dinner before bedtime. Perhaps after 3 hours of constant playing, I would see some progress. I gave up on the puzzles lining up the gold squares--spent a few minutes on them but they would have taken up several evenings to solve. I found the match-three ones to be simple, but I play those games a lot. I am at the point now where I know where everything is in every room, I have bought the thing that shows me where the jewels are, and I am just finding the same hidden objects over and over. So, not finishing it, enough is enough. If you play these games for hours at a time, you may get a lot more continuity than I had and it all may come together for you.
