Kids, if any of you are reading this, please be aware that this is a bad example. I speak from years of experience. I have a self-diagnosed addiction to television. Over the years, I thought my addiction would gradually come to an end as teen dramas – the likes of Gossip Girl, 90210 and the Hills – die out, and that I wouldn't start to watch anything new. Boy, I was wrong. Now this is one urban myth.

As a student I thought it was borderline acceptable to watch so much TV as long as I didn't fail anything. Then came life of the working girl (supposedly). I knew this behaviour had to stop there and then. Elementary was an exception, who can resist Sherlock’s genius and British accent? I love a good detective drama, too. Under the influence, this is my Sherlock outfit – there is just something about that almost monochrome palette and that almost doctor’s bag that give a certain private eye vibe.

這是典型的反面教材，兒童切勿模仿。我的電視癮問題存在已久，久沒治愈，這是我多年來的經驗之談。本來我天真的以為隨著《緋聞女孩》、《90210》、《好萊塢女孩》等屬於（我）青少年時代的產物逐一完結，同時間不再開始看新的電視劇，我的電視癮就可以慢慢痊愈。但如此被動的方式怎可能有效，然後，就沒有然後了。

一直認為作為一個學生，看太多的電視劇也是勉強可以接受的，盡了學生本分就可以。後來開始職業生涯就終於醒覺，也是時候跟電視癮道別。當然凡事總有例外，最近開始追看《福爾摩斯》，Sherlock的頭腦和英式發音實在讓人著迷。熏陶下，我的穿著也有所改變。這天我的裝束跟福爾摩斯碰巧神似，硬是覺得黑白灰沈實色調和這個仿醫生包具有偵探格調。

Fashion’s love for grey would never die. Indeed this shade often reminds you of the dullness of a corporate boardroom. Yet like all unsung heroes, grey is one of the essential go-to hues. A black and white ensemble screams too much attention? Throw in a bit of grey – there is a certain calming quality to it. Soft ambiguity deems grey as a no-brainer colour of choice for the fashion pack.

The plush grey knitwear from Fall 2014 collections are looking very promising. Rejoice for girls (like yours-truly) who like to stay warm and hide under such softness when cold weather comes. Prabal Gurung’s highland style chunky sweaters were a juxtaposition of cable and waffle-knit, a biker girl pick. A sweater in slate adorned with baby blue scales – by none other than knitwear extraordinaire – Pringle Of Scotland, would be another streetstyle favourite. Whistles went back to basics, simply with fluffy knits in timberwolf and ash, less is more.

灰色帶點傷感，讓人聯想起鬱悶無比的辦公室。同時間灰色是時尚界最可靠的朋友，黑白太亮眼？加入一抹灰色更為務實、低調。幽幽模糊的灰像看不透的深邃，一直受各時尚達人鍾愛。

2014秋冬時裝秀裡的灰色毛衣各有千秋，耐看程度旗鼓相當，冬季喜歡躲在厚重毛衣裡的女孩們選擇可多。Prabal Gurung秀中亮點是不規則粗麻花針織及等接併，大號毛衣不乏強勢氣質。頂尖針織品牌Pringle Of Scotland設計格外獨特，寬鬆剪裁加上一片片小鱗片必定是街拍的新寵兒。而Whistles則走簡約路線，利落線條依然掩蓋不住毛衣的輕柔。

It seems that Comic Con and Fashion Week finally have something in common. The February fashion weeks are still well underway and yet, two fashion houses travelled to a galaxy far, far away. Both were quite literal, too. Being a Star Wars fangirl through and through, I am totally pro this trend. That said, I am more inclined towards the Rodarte collection. With their memories continuously as the design pillar, the Mulleavy sisters designed a collection in rich fabrics and jewel tones, something a 21st century Padmé Amidala would wear. I am pretty much convinced that this collection was made for the Queen of Naboo. As much as I love what Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi are doing at Preen of late, have to say Darth Vader didn’t make the most attractive of prints. In contrast, the jolly shade of vermilion was very much to my liking, and the voluminous ankle grazing coats make the perfect cold weather armour.

動漫展和時裝秀本來是兩碼子的事，但依然在進行的2014秋冬時裝秀把原本遙遠的距離拉近，兩大設計師品牌不約而同地從很遙遠的星系裡取得靈感，而且都頗為明顯。作為星球大戰的忠實粉絲，我個人是很喜歡時裝這樣向星戰致敬，但Rodarte 2014秋冬系列比較討喜。每一季Mulleavy姐妹都以她們共同的回憶作為靈感，新一季系列用上寶石色調及蕾絲、天鵝絨等高端物料，整個系列就是為二十一世紀的Padmé Amidala而設計的。我真的是這麼認為，剪裁用色太相似了。儘管近幾季Justin Thornton及Thea Bregazzi的Preen設計很有驚喜，悲劇反派黑武士印花實在不太吸引。反而我特別喜歡亮眼有活力的橘色，另外寬大特長的外套也是對抗嚴寒的時尚之選。

Ever since the much-coveted Christian Dior Mise en Dior tribal earrings appeared in Pre-Fall 2013, pearly accessories have made a nouveau comeback. With less femininity and grandeur, pearls are still making a big fashion statement in the simplest of forms. Meek asymmetry beads of Mise en Dior earrings add a modest sense of elegance. Karl Lagerfeld’s oversized Coco elements from Spring 2014 Chanel bring a transformative artistic revolution upon the traditionally conservative gem. The ever so stylish Delfina Delettrez – fourth generation of the Fendi dynasty – also dropped some pearls in her namesake fine jewellery line, with novel craftsmanship. Ever since Marc Jacobs brought back the romantic intimacy of the undergarment last year at Louis Vuitton Fall 2013, lingerie inspired fashion has not really gone away. Zara also approved, with a dedicated lace collection. Flashing the boudoir out and about is not really an option in conservative Hong Kong. So I guess now is the perfect season to wear a lace slip cloaked under knits and heavy outerwear. Just a subtle hint.

Why so serious? Self-mockery is a long running trait of fashion. Hence the popularity of Brian Lichtenberg and What about yves. Fashion likes to be witty. Shirmps – a new faux fur label based in London – is a perfect representation of that. The young label’s aesthetic is so comical that it is blatantly not the real deal, yet such fun interpretations are like a breathe of fresh air – a typical British tongue-in-cheek sense of humour.

On the high-end spectrum, we have Prada. Miuccia Prada is probably the only designer who reinvents her woman season after season – she also makes you want to reinvent your wardrobe, too. She delivered a powerful Spring Summer 2014 collection adorned with literally in-your-face mural art. So what about the coats? Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs and Katie Grand had first dibs.

These reinterpretations of fur coats exude mockery, to a point that it is challenging the traditional interpretation of fur. Stripping down regality and lavishness of fur, in exchange for vibrant whacky teddy bear fur.

自嘲一向都是時尚圈的專業，何須太認真呢？物極必反，當時裝華麗到一個地步，就有新的對衡，而通常以玩味極濃的手法出現。Brian Lichtenberg及What about yves惡搞設計就是時尚對自我諷刺的認同。時尚是詼諧的、俏皮的。而倫敦新生代人造皮草品牌Shirmps就是很貼切的例子。這個新品牌整個調子就是很幽默，賣點不是假的很像真皮草，而是肆無忌憚就是假皮草的態度，如此有趣破格的演繹就是活生生的英式開玩笑幽默感。

高端時裝代表有Prada，少有的設計師每一季都再徹底改造品牌的繆斯女神，而Miuccia Prada是其中之一，她的設計還讓人想徹底換掉自己的衣服。Prada 2014春夏系列藝術氣色濃厚，隨處可見的壁畫元素是一大亮點。而Anna Wintour、Marc Jacobs和Katie Grand已經爭先演繹皮草大衣了。

俏皮的諷刺造就皮草大衣的重新解讀，駁斥人們對皮草的傳統看法。抹去皮草的雍容華貴，以亮麗輕狂的一面示人。

I do have an embargo on down coats, except for those in disguise. Down outerwear is the warmest thing ever, without the need to look like a wild life creature. But I just can’t get myself to like all that Bibendum – more commonly known as the Michellin Man – silhouette. Rick Owens coats are of the rare breed, such slimming effects (courtesy of the skinny leather sleeves) yet so warm at the same time. Most down outerwear just doesn’t come as edgy as this, Moncler Gamme Bleu/ Rouge as an exception, obviously. And no, the Moncler main line is just puffy pomposity blowing out of proportions. Really.

我真心不太喜歡羽絨服，除非是完全不像羽絨的羽絨服。根據早前的angora（安哥拉毛）事件就能推斷出時尚圈終於開始保育，真皮草已經不太時尚，而羽絨大衣就變成最溫暖的選擇，但我就是接受不了那種米芝蓮人輪胎身影。Rick Owens外衣都獨具特色，穿著羽絨大衣依然是瘦子，顯瘦皮革袖子應記一功。普遍的羽絨大衣除了Moncler Gamme Bleu/ Rouge以外也是沒什麼設計感，而Moncler主線就不值得一提了。

Sportswear (known as sports-luxe most of the time) has always been around every season, especially in New York. This athleticism somehow extended to couture season, to two of the largest French houses – Christian Dior and Chanel. Airy lightness and futurism swept both runways, Raf Simons had the most glamorous pool shoes bedazzling an architectural space, while Karl Lagerfeld had couture running shoes accompanying every look.

Looks like we have got fashion’s nod of approval to stay grounded in sneakers, with the rise of comfort over vanity. The make of these kicks are not so down to earth though. In tweed, python, pearls, embroideries and lace, which probably takes a million man-hours to hand make. We won’t be seeing much of the Chanel sneakers around, since Susie Bubble mentioned that they are only available if you buy the total look.

I am all for this sportiness, women in this world can live with more fitness, less bunions.

運動風幾乎是一個永恆不滅的時尚趨勢，因為每一季都至少會出現於紐約時裝周。這風竟然吹到一向以華美手工晚裝見稱的巴黎2014春夏高級訂製時裝秀，兩大法國時裝巨頭Christian Dior及Chanel（香奈兒）不約而同地休閒起來。脫離高訂一如以往的華麗枷鎖，來一個未來主義的運動小清新，但依然保留高訂奢華手工及高端範兒。Raf Simons以最華麗的寶石鑲嵌游泳鞋穿梭著充滿建築美感的秀場，而每一位香奈兒模特都以跑步鞋亮相。

看來我們已經得到時尚界的允許，以舒適為大前提穿著時髦運動鞋。可這些高訂運動鞋一點也不平民化，以粗花呢、蛇皮、珍珠、刺繡及蕾絲等手製，必定花上不少人力物力，才能稱得上高訂吧。但我們應該不會有很多機會能親睹香奈兒跑鞋的風采了，著名時尚博主Susie Bubble透露寶石跑鞋只可以跟全套裝束一起購買。

我個人認為運動風鞋履是女生的大喜訊，運動鞋的舒適總比高跟鞋帶來（血流成河）的傷痕來的好。

The ripped, the old and the fast fashion

Acne jeans are almost a rite of passage. Everyone should have a pair (or two), and not limited to the ripped ones. But my love for this Swedish brand goes way beyond their jeans. Clean lines, oversized silhouettes, work wear staples, pops of colours here and there, and always – always – with a twist. In this age of fast fashion, when you can grab a blouse anywhere, anytime. It is time to stop and think, make purchases that are special, that stands out from the ten million other blouses.

I bought this pair of ripped Acne jeans when I was in Stockholm, where I spent all of my travel money on Acne, including the Acne store, outlet and archive. The Acne archive is another must visit, that’s where I picked up one of my favourite light jackets in mint green. It’s like a treasure chest, full of off-season and show pieces Acne gems (at a discount) for everyone.

Here I wore them with my trusty rusty old and battered Converses, a bit broken on the side and at the back. It is nice to hold on to things and realise that old things still hold a place in this new world. Just taking the statement of wearing to death very literally. That’s all.

Acne以牛仔起家，其用色及物料令褲形歷久常新，個人認為人人都應該有一兩條Acne牛仔褲看門，而且不只是破爛風格那種。不過我更喜歡品牌現代多元化式的簡單線條、大號剪裁、工人風格、用色也是亮點，而且總會有意想不到的獨特之處。在這速食時裝世代，隨時隨地都可以買到一件上衣，是不是應該停下來想一下，要購買真正特別、有品位的時裝呢？

這條破爛Acne牛仔褲是在斯德哥爾摩買的，去的時候剛好是復活節，歐洲國家大部份商鋪都休息，整個城市像死城一樣，而且四月北歐冷得要命。不過也無損我大手購買Acne的心情，結果把所有盤川都用盡在Acne店、outlet及archive。去斯德哥爾摩各位喜愛Acne的朋友一定要到Acne archive，店子就像一個寶箱，都是Acne off-season及show piece瑰寶，我在那也買到我很喜歡的粉綠色外套。

這雙破爛Converse應該是我擁有最殘舊的一雙鞋，兩邊和腳跟位置都破了但我還不掉，有時候留著舊物品，發現原來也還佔有一席位，挺有意思的。

愛情如打工

愛情和工作：可能這是一個很悲觀的說法，一個不全面的愛情觀，但有時候愛情拍拖跟打工的確有不少相同之處。

拍拖的時候，會有一刻想過可能有更好嗎？上班的時候，十之八九都會想著可以找一份更好的工作。其實這地球上都一定存在這更好的一個男／女朋友或一份工作，不過大部份人都會（自我安慰的）說一定會有更好的，也可能有更差的，為什麼不安於現狀呢？

If it ain't broke, don't fix it? 縱然有不滿意有些人就是喜歡安於現狀，但有些人就是想闖一闖，試一試。好了，不安分的人終於想要跳槽嗎？要結束一段關係跟跳槽一樣難。愛情跟工作一樣，有誰不想確確實實找到下一步，才放棄現有的。但世事豈可盡如人意，要轉工，如果不先辭掉現在的工作，幾乎沒有時間、心力、動力或氣力（可選多項）去找下一份工。再者，一個半個面試就已經非請假不可，現任公司又怎麼不會洞悉呢？請了假現任就會起疑，知道你離異之心。同樣，現在有另一半的，不先分手想要找下一位極難。除非現任是非常糟糕的（可以直接分手不用考慮），否則也是幾乎沒有時間、心力、動力或氣力（可選多項），再者現任也會起疑心，而且下一人知道你的現有的關係也大有可能知難而退。

所以，新一年，it's time to take a risk sweetheart，否則面對著不滿日復日年復年也停滯不前。

Pheobe Philo Celine 2013秋冬系列的確有不少驚喜，至少這個Celine女人經過多季非常有亮點時裝experimentation，終於找到屬於自己的優雅定位。簡潔剪裁，柔和用色，在俗世裡而不世俗，而且更是今季最流行穿搭靈感來源，從Zara十一月的lookbook就知道了。

原來早於1926年就有位經濟學家發表Hemline Index，就是以當時流行的裙擺長度預測股票市場。那以最近流行的及膝裙子長度又代表什麼呢？另外，不論此長度如何時尚如何備受追捧，對於個子不高的女生來說及膝或更長裙子也是頗為尷尬的長度。

自從我開始更認真地喜歡時裝後，就發現時尚和對直男有吸引力是兩碼子的事，直男大概都不懂欣賞女性時尚的多變及幾分難捉摸。所以美國著名時尚博客Man Repeller這個博客名稱也是改得沒錯，有時候太時尚就讓大部份直男彈開三丈遠，而且更會被冠以購物狂這個惡名。Fashion never sleeps? 偶爾不時尚，旺一旺桃花也不為過。

Who can forget the warmth Phoeobe Philo delivered at AW13 Celine? It was clean, stripped down elegance yet cozy and romantic. It was also the origin of the look of this season. Hence, the carbon copy Zara November look book.

As much as the drop of the hemline has been bolstered, I am sceptical about how ‘great’ it is. I mean, first things first (believe it or not) there is the Hemline Index, the drop of the hemline also indicate a crash of some sort. There is also this height problem – to an average height woman (by any standards) it says prim, proper and very very reserved. As fashion as it gets, I have to say this is the look of the season and this new (and a little awkward*).

There has always been a great debate about being fashionable and attractive – that is, to the straight male population – at the same time. Simply put, whatever deemed fashionable is not necessarily attractive to the opposite sex. Henceforth, the name of renowned fashion blog Man Repeller. Are there exceptions, though?

Sam Edelman heels are probably the comfiest ever. The heel heights are killer - which, I'm not going to lie, is tiring - but the padded and fluffy insoles almost guarantee no blisters, bruises and all that gory business. A pair of Sam Edelman Lorrissa Studded Pumps in nude or black can never go wrong. Who knows, this pair of shoes might scare off lurking bad guys. This is one killer heel, after all.

繼Jeffrey Campbell，Sam Edelman應該是最舒服的高跟鞋。鞋跟高度不是入門級，而是走路多了會很累的那種。但柔軟鞋墊幾乎保證不會有各種高跟鞋帶來的損傷問題。一雙Sam Edelman的Lorrissa鉚釘鑲鑽高跟鞋絕對能看門口。

Isabel Marant pour H&M

Deep down I do hold a belief that designer collaborations are as gimmicky as coconut water. But somehow every time one of these happens I get intrigued and always end up buying one or two items. I have been – however – lucky that I have never ever queued. Anyway, this time round I am back in Hong Kong, the land of frenzied queuing. So I kind of gave up on buying anything from the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection, since (I heard) queues start the night before and a lot of people ask their maids to queue for them.

Nonetheless, I just had to try my luck. First, I went to the Elements store, which was completely empty. I then arrived at the Tsim Sha Tsui flagship store at 11am and found out there was plenty of stock from the collection. So I queued – 30 minutes later I was a happy shopper having bought everything on my hit list. (Which – fyi – only consisted of the slip-ons, white lace top and black lace dress) Not sure who or what to thank, maybe it’s my peculiar taste, maybe it’s tiny feet, maybe it’s the TST store.

心底裡我是知道的，我知道這些crossover合作系列都只不過是營銷伎倆，但奈何我每一次都被吸引到，結果都會購買一至兩件單品。可能我比較幸運，過去的H&M crossover系列我都湊巧不用排隊。但這次Isabel Marant x H&M就不同了，我身在香港，一個幾乎什麼都要排隊的瘋狂地方，而且排隊從前一天就開始了，有些人更有傭人代勞，面對如此瘋癲的排隊行為我就放棄了。

儘管如此，我還是想要試試運氣。先到了圓方分店，系列都被搶購一空了。然後上午11時到尖沙嘴旗艦發現貨源非常充足，三十分鐘的排隊過後我就買到我一直想買的單品，（其實沒有很多，就只是休閒鞋、白色蕾絲上衣及黑色蕾絲裙子）。這次行動成功其實大有可能因為我品味比較獨特和腳比較細，不過尖沙嘴店貨比較多也應該是真的啦。

Finally the breeze of cool Autumn has hit Hong Kong, so long to endless days of suffocating humid rain. Settling in to Autumn trends nicely, camouflage seems to have taken a life of it’s own this season. Elegantly sitting on prim pleated skirts, kilts and jacquard dresses, case in point – the Chirstopher Kane AW13 collection. A snug chunky grey knit and a delicate aromatic scent from Le Labo are deemed perfect for the occasion.

終於秋天來到香港，也可以跟令人窒息的潮濕下雨天說聲再見。向來給人一種硬朗感覺的迷彩這一季被全新演繹，Chirstopher Kane 2013秋冬系列，把迷彩用在優雅百褶裙，蘇格蘭裙及連身裙，為初秋加上質感。這種天氣，一件暖和的粗針毛衣和Le Labo的細膩香氛實在不能少。

Fifty Shades of... Pink. With every fashion magazine telling us to think pink this season, inevitably this idea is planted in our heads. While maxi, mannish, ankle-grazing coats lead the way this season, pink coats slowly crept into our minds, subconsciously reminding us if we go for a rather adventurous outerwear colour, pink should be it. Even the Marks & Spencer blushed pink coat was sold out before it hit the stores.

I have been contemplating about this. Pink coats are certainly a joy to look at, however once you get down to business – literally or figuratively – pink coats seem out of place. Unless you are Alexa Chung or a child, a pink coat would be rather difficult to fit into your wardrobe.

Undeniably, pink coats are delightful. After all, who can forget about that endearing pink coat from the Raf Simons final Jil Sander collection? While models clutched the coats we clutched our hearts. To buy or not to buy, I still had fun looking at all these gorgeous outerwear in a colour none other than the rosy, blushed, feminine pink.

當每一本雜誌都教你買粉紅色大衣，催眠效果最對不能忽視。新一季秋冬大熱固然是大碼、男裝剪裁、長至腳跟的大衣，但粉紅色這個念頭不知不覺間就出現在腦海裡，潛意識好像有小聲音在跟你說要麼買主流顏色大衣，要麼就買粉紅色！如果不是如此，Marks & Spencer的粉紅大衣也不會售罄。

這個難題我也考慮了一陣子，粉紅色大衣當然好看，但細細一想就覺得不論是什麼場合粉紅色大衣都格格不入。除非你是英國時尚達人Alexa Chung或者是小孩，否則難以凌駕粉紅色大衣這種稚氣單品。

當然，粉紅色大衣也有可取之處。有誰能忘記Raf Simons最後的Jil Sander系列裡扣人心弦的一抹粉紅，模特抓緊大衣前襟我們也同樣被感動。潮流不潮流也好，無可否認溫馨浪漫女性化的粉紅大衣都讓人賞心悅目。

各大著名鞋匠之中我覺得Christian Louboutin先生傲氣，Jimmy Choo先生內斂，而Manolo Blahnik就最幽默，這些特質其實都可以從他們鞋履設計中看得到。這雙Manolo Arleti高跟鞋就是讓我想起超現實主義Surrealism，感覺天馬行空。

我對時裝和藝術的關係很感興趣，這倆一直有著不解之緣，而且是很有歷史的關係。我尤其喜歡Surrealism超現實主義。時裝設計師和超現實主義藝術家互相影響，互相參考，各種創作把現實扭曲，卻用在人每天都接觸到的衣服上是我覺得極有趣的地方。Elsa Schiaparelli可以說是這種唇齒關係表表者之一，她跟Leonor Fini，Jean Cocteau，Meret Oppenheim，Alberto Giacometti等藝術家非常友好，其中跟好友Salvador Dalí的Lobster Dress和Shoe Hat相信不少人都熟悉。這種referencing讓Elsa Schiaparelli的時裝設計天馬行空，她的大部分作品現在出現於個大博物館藝術館展出及保存。Schiaparelli的膽創意程度及風格當今大概只有Miuccia Prada可以媲美，上年在Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute展出的Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations的確很有意思，兩位跨時代女設計師其實很有默契，對於女性服裝有著獨特見解。

時裝界名人很多都有歷史背景，不是說他們老得像千年老妖，而我認為有歷練或修讀歷史的人在時裝行業都特別得心應手。時裝是虛無飄渺的嗎？是設計師無意中想出來的念頭嗎？這個行業從設計到時裝秀到雜誌時裝大片都是有根有據。懂得越多歷史、藝術，有越多藝術家朋友靈感就越多，如Grace Coddington為美國Vogue拍攝的著名二十年代時裝大片，試問不了解那時期豈能造出最真實的極盡奢華呢？

Out of all the men behind shoemaking mega brands – well, I might have been blessed to appear in the same occasion with them but obviously I don’t know any of them personally – I think Mr. Christian Louboutin is a proud man, Mr. Jimmy Choo is reserved and Mr. Manolo Blahnik the most whimsical and humorous of all. All observations are deduced from shoe designs of their namesake brands. This pair of Manolo Arleti heels reminds me so much of surrealism, maybe it’s the colourway, maybe it’s just me, but there’s just this abstract and fanciful vibe about it.

The relation between fashion and art is one of the many intellectual topics that fascinates me. Fashion and art can go way back, but let’s just go back to surrealism this time. Fashion designers and surrealist artists work together and reference each other, distorting reality and creating something completely new. What I love about it is the ingenious notion of distorting reality but creating reality at the same time, that is, clothes. Elsa Schiaparelli might well be the epitome of fashion and surrealism. Her Lobster Dress and Shoe Hat with good friend Salvador Dalí were most famed. Friends with surrealism artists such as Leonor Fini, Jean Cocteau, Maret Oppenheim and Alberto Giacometti, Schiaparelli’s pieces were full of imagination. A lot of her pieces are exhibited and stored in renowned museums to date.

Miuccia Prada might be one of the few fashion designers with comparable artistic, uncompromising and imaginative vision of Schiaparelli’s. Last year the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute was a rare occasion that brought these two heroines of fashion together. Two epochal female designers with tacit understanding, both enthusing the world with beautiful and visionary insights.

Influential people in fashion usually have a lot of background, I’m not talking about their age, but usually a history background or life experiences are particularly handy in the industry. If you think fashion is shallow, empty and illusory then you are wrong. From fashion design, fashion shows to magazine editorials, every bit of detail comes with excellent reasoning and referencing is an integral part. Inspiration comes from history, art and maybe friends who are artists in a completely different realm. Without in-depth historical knowledge of a particular era, how could the infamous Grace Coddington Twenties shoot come to life with same decadence?

Louis Vuitton the Art of Packing

I used to love travelling when I was young, going to new places, seeing new things bring so much excitement into a child's life. Now "change" almost became my biggest fear, or I have just reached a point where I don't want to deal with my baggage.

Packing is nothing new to anybody. And Louis Vuitton turned it into an art. This campaign is amazing in a timeless way, at least packing will never get old. By turing this chore into an art and blasting out on all channels possible - from short film to minisites, magazines and exhibitions, oh not to mention around the globe - this is actually a relatively low cost way to promote all of the French house's product ranges. Everybody loves peering into someone else's life. That's why in popular culture - namely Instagram and Youtube - all those "room tours" and outfit grids are so popular. You get to see how other people live. This artsy (and also very on brand) way of packing obviously glorifies this whole mundane packing errand. A bit idealistic for reality, but just enough to dream of.

小時候很喜歡去旅行，有機會到新的地方就興奮無比。現在不太喜歡轉換環境，人大了就越來越多隨身物品，越來越多包袱，最喜歡自然是settle down安頓的感覺，要收拾細遠又談何容易呢？

拜globalisation所賜，收拾行李，對大部分人都不陌生。Louis Vuitton Art of Packing推廣很成功，宣傳最新行李系列同時把收拾行裝藝術化，從短片，互動網站，雜誌到展覽，360度全方位宣傳，不用代言人，簡單低成本。人人都有偷窺心態，所以物件鳥瞰圖一向受歡迎，看社交網站Instagram做就這麼多紅人就知道，這種拍攝手法也是其中最受歡迎之一。當然這一切都太美好，回到現實收拾行李有誰不會頭疼。

Quarter life crisis

Moving back to Hong Kong made me realise how difficult it is to actually have a teeny tiny voice in this tiny dot on a map. There are next to none creative outlets, no wonder why there are so many "bloggers" and bloggers. In this suffocating city to continue to have your own thought and to have some kind of a life is such an unattainable task. I would like to have my life back. And I would also like to take a moment to figure out what I actually want in life. Thank you.

回到香港讓我了解為何這小小的地方可以有這麼多怨氣、示威，原來表面上是大都會現實中要保留自己的聲音、思想很難。難怪越來越多人選擇freelance工作，只有不受僱於人才會有那麼一點的時間去尋找自己的觀點。最近我決定了我要慢活，尋回自己的人生目標，祝我好運。

生活小細節

一個人無寄托就開始寫字，基於即將失業的原因，不用再考慮現在工作上的事兒，腦袋不停不停轉，衍生出一大堆念頭，又是復活這個博客的時候。

我很喜歡讀專欄，首先作為一個大懒人，讀專欄邊幅短，需要專注力相對底。另外内容往往疑似發人深省，以為自己領悟到大道理。

寫字的人想吸納最多讀者就要大眾化，一本讀物目標讀者層面與內容質素多成反比，目標讀者越多越廣泛，內容也是要相對調節的。要讀者有共鳴，很多時候專欄選材都非常生活化，絕不是沒有人會明白的題材。把平時沒有人能注意到的生活小細節，小道理無限放大，當然加入筆者本身專業的expertise，就成為容易消化但令人有‘喔原來如此’反應的bite size專欄。喜歡Woody Allen，因為和專欄一樣他的選材都是平常人有可能遇到的事。把平日被遺忘的小細節，加上標誌性諷刺世俗扮清高的幽默態度，就是他的手本名曲。

能夠以最低成本，拿生活事作題材，但卻疑似道出塵世真諦，讓人彷如大澈大悟，就是一個寫字人的高招。

An Hermès Journey

There are just way too many exhibitions going on in London right now, and so many of which I want to go to. Well I began with the Hermès Leather Forever exhibition since it is on my ‘Must Go’ list and it’s free (considering I am quite broke at the moment).

We began with the library of skins with an intoxicating scent of leather that you can’t avoid. Next up was the artisan’s studio where they had two Hermès craftsmen at work, visitors could just go up to them and talk to them. There wasn’t much chatting going on though, perhaps no one wanted to interrupt the concentration and precision that goes into an Hermès leather good. I witnessed a grass green Constance bag (so cute) in the making. I asked the artisan when his Hermès career started and he said 20 years ago. (He looked quite young! Ah French people and their elixir of youth)

12 rooms make the whole of the exhibition and it was very well put together and immaculate (well it’s Hermès). The room taking you through their travel collection was lit in a shade of burnt orange and filled with sand – a true nomadic ambience. There was a lot of play with lighting effects as well. I was peering into a box when a mini light show took place right before my eyes.

It was such a shame that photography wasn’t allowed, but I managed to sneak this shot. Note the bag at the top left corner; it’s a tiny little Kelly with a cheeky face (isn’t it adorable!).

Pink hair (before going ginger)

I finally dyed my hair pink (or tried to). I have been warned that it won't last, especially on black hair. Apparently black hair turns orange if the bleach was not left in for long enough, fearing that my hair would just break and fall off - as thin as it already is - my hair is probably going to turn ginger when the pink washes off.

After weeks of rain (A few wet weeks vs two dry years! Okay okay...) I finally got the chance to wear my Acne jacket. I have been on the hunt for the perfect spring light jacket and when I tried this on at the Acne Archive in Stockholm I couldn't part with it. The colour and the fit is just perfect (very difficult to find a perfect jacket being petite).

I also paid a visit to Icecreamist, the ice-cream parlor infamous for the "Baby Gaga" breast milk ice-cream (ew). Taste-wise it was nice, mind you not the breast milk ice-cream. But judging by the little swab of ice-cream (see photo above) I got, I felt scammed. :@

Floral Shirt

My mothers reaction to this floral shirt was that its very "see nai"(師奶). Meaning it's a shirt for domestic housewives in their 40s, or just basically its very ugly. Surely it isn't a compliment, but she says this all the time about my choice of clothing - the shape is very "see nai", the colour is very "see nai" and so on. Usually I would just retort something along the lines of "At this age I won't look 'see nai' whatever I wear."

Which is totally true, I mean really, don't think I would turn into a 40 years old housewife, whatever I wear.

It did not occur to me that I very conveniently left all of my white clothes in Hong Kong until last week when it felt like summer was just around the corner. So I asked my mother to send me my white jeans, and then remembering I also forgot about my white tops (oh nooo my T by A.wangs). Indeed very annoying, but instead of asking her to send me another care package full of white clothes, I decided it was time for me to abandon whites. I have been steering my purchases towards the other side of the colour spectrum as of late. Finally breaking out of my comfort zone after years of wearing white in spring and summer. Buh bye you dull colour.
