5th House Fun

Being in the middle of nowhere is actually my kind of fun and as my chart would attest (!) I'm currently not as deranged as I look/think/feel/act.

A road trip out to Broken Hill has been just the tonic for me. Today-- down to the Menindee Lakes and a week or more of solitary birdwatching, lake gazing and emptyheaded expansion into the Great Nothingness.

Broken Hill is kinda hectic compared to what precedes it. (see above) Quite suddenly the 'satanic mills' of mining infrastructure, loom on the horizon. Cobar, Broken Hill, they are in love and way too attached to their slag heaps which are the ugliest things you ever saw-a feng shui disaster!

I saw Jack Marx, who I heard recently being interviewed on the radio-- although I didn't know it was Jack Marx, but I suspected as much. He said hello to me like he knew me . . . . the only girl in town wearing a Beret and driving a Peugeot, I guess I look like 'someone'--possibly someone French. Heh.

I am looking forward to the quicker of those little green planets moving above my horizon line and passing my north node at 10 degrees Cancer. This trip through duat/nether-lands has been . . . bloody awful.

But for now out of range and out of town. I don't think there is anywhere else in the world where you can drive in a straight line for as long, surrounded by so little, other than goats, emus, a few cows and the odd worried-looking sheep (and I'd be worried too, it's a tough landscape). 100ks an hour. 1500 so far.

Or perhaps it's a vastation? Time for a holiday (or something). The idea being to drive for hours and hours and hours on a dead straight road out into the middle of nowhere and wait for . . . . nothing to happen except perhaps for my mind to change.

No internet, no vodafone (of course), just me, the desert some lakes apparently, a camera, some books and absolutely nothing to do but 'be'. I am looking forward to the great vast nothingness of the desert.

Normal programming may or may not resume some time soon. We'll see.

Crisis/flashpoint moment at chez Linkus--just quietly . . . What to do? What to do? I need to get back on course I have been flung far into the mud. Well, actually I willingly went.

Astrologically, undoubtedly it's a Pluto in the 1st House thing. I did wonder how that might manifest--it has/is pretty thorough-going and has struck something at 11º , I know not what. Oh actually maybe that was my MC? Right now I can't even remember where my MC is..... Virgo . . . . anyway.

This new Aries Moon is a doozy for me, as was the Venus/Uranus conjunction of late. My 8º Aries Venus had a very funny day with my mate whose Sun is at 8º of Aries, we laughed and laughed. My Aries Moon is at 19º, so this new Moon is not a direct hit, but good as and it's in my fifth house of adventure, lovers, music, and creativity. I am actually enormously chuffed at how things are panning out. You wouldn't necessarily peg it in me of late, and frankly lately I have been doing the 180º turn for the worse about three times a day. All this relationship drama, I appear not to be alone in going through. . . . .

What I do know is that after consulting the Ching it is definitely time to take a sabbatical from writing horoscopes. Time to have some acupuncture, look after my heart, dance, pray and not feel I'm being held in check to anything. It will be nice to forget about the cosmos for a while. Writing horoscopes is hard graft, putting yourself into 12 pairs of shoes once a week is not for anyone who is trying to find their own pair of red dancing slippers.

So I threw a Ching because this was an important decision I didn't want to take unaided. The astrology at the moment has been too fast and furious for me and intensely personal. I needed a second opinion and the Ching is a good friend.

Pluto is still exerting his influence over pretty much everything on planet Earth and the key to Plutonic energy is to employ it for the greater good. You may find yourself with great power at your disposal, but if you employ such power for selfish ends it will probably backfire quite spectacularly maybe not now, but sometime in the future. Think first if you find yourself in an unusual or extreme position where it appears as though you are in a position of great power to influence possibly the entire course of someone else's life. That's probably Pluto, whose energies are great- too great at times for us to handle personally.

Aries ♈

I hope you've feeling a helluva lot more like your old self Aries, (last week's Moon mayhem notwithstanding.) You will never be your old self again of course, you will be even better than your old self. As I write, Uranus has moved out of shadow zone and is now moving through Aries turf he hasn't visited for 80 odd years, i.e. not (unless you're in your eighties or nineties) in your life time.

Big sudden fast and furious change is Aries all over while Uranus transits your stomping ground. The square to Pluto in your tenth house means that you can and will not only transform yourself but your whole world is going to be transformed. Change doesn't come so easy to most of us, but you are at the vanguard of world events. It's a big responsibility. Hmmm.

This week the pressure eases off with other people's crazy lives intersecting with your own, but with Mercury still trailing in ‘shadow zone’ until April 6th you may still be having a bit of difficulty getting your message across. But you can rest assured you’ll have no such trouble when Mercury finally arrives in Aries by the middle of April. You can really employ your natal chutzpah with regard to money as Pallas Athene’s move into your house of cash certainly suggests fortune favours the bold and you are the boldest of bold. Some friendships may have reached tipping-point and if you need to lose some people or you’ve had quite enough of their shenanigans you have cosmic permission to reprimand or ditch them once and for all. Sappho in love? There is an artiste type on your love radar.

Taurus ♉

All this sex you’ve been having Taurus will see you examining sex in the light of your soul growth and spirituality. What is going on? Really?? Does anyone know? And even if you haven’t been getting a lot of sex with anyone, questions about sex and love will come into play for you when Eros moves into your house of unconscious workings next Saturday. This is an easier sky this week for us all, a much calmer time to be working through a backlog of almost incomprehensible impressions.

Mercury is still keeping you in almost constant communication with your friends, but if you’re still having trouble being heard, after next Saturday when Mercury gets out of shadow zone, you will be able to make yourself incisively clear. Your job or work may be pushing some buttons for you, just as a new person on the scene starts to make it much more interesting. Dang. If it really is time to throw in the towel (which I somehow doubt you'll do) with an unsatisfactory job situation . . . that is beyond the pale, well the cosmos has a good explanation for it.

Continue to exploit any opportunities you get to repair old wounds with lover’s past or present. The trine from Saturn to Chiron gets to the point quickly. A nice catalyst.

Gemini ♊

If you’re suffering from nagging thoughts that you’re not doing quite enough in your daily life or with your work situation you’ve got Saturn, currently retrograde, to thank.

It would be better too that you were completely in tune with your health and not blithely ignoring niggling problems. Saturn has a way of making you face his version of reality whether you are ready to or not. That said, you have plenty of healthy and healing support from your work and career to help you deal with whatever Saturn is prodding you to do. You could just bite the bullet and do it and find that it wasn't half as bad as you thought. Anything is possible, it's just how you use your energy. Think of your energy as an interesting ensemble of tones, potentially a symphony and you as the conductor. Choose your piece, tune up, (this could take some time--there's quite a bit to orchestrate) but then, well move like a symphony. Saturn will help and Pluto will enjoy the . . deconstruction and reassembly.

Your house of friends and groups holds a stellium of planets suggesting that for Geminis this time of year is one to socialise and be seen. Mercury moves out of shadow zone on April 6th. New projects of ventures begun around February 6th may fall through your fingers, so if you have begun something new in the time your ruler has been in shadowland, implement plan B. Thankfuly, for all of us, all Geminis have a plan B.

Cancer ♋

Well that was the week that was, eh what? Culminating with an unusually brutal Libran Moon. She did her best to illuminate all of us under a tumultuous and catharsis-inducing sky. Good grief, sometimes I wish I knew nothing about astrology just to feel what that was like. Mind you one can make mention, to the most ardent critic that there's a full Moon to explain the mayhem and they will generally concur that this must be the reason for 'it'.

Mercury, still in shadow zone lags behind the stellium in your house of ‘out there- life-amongst-the-peoples. Hopefully you’ve been putting lots of thought into this area of your life, but actually getting your message across to those who need to hear you has been a bit problematic. Fear not Cancer and make sure you spend time this week under happier skies sighing, breathing and being glad that last week is over. This week is a lot easier for all of us and it would want to be huh? If you’ve been simply too over-awed or over ‘it’ to put as much effort into your career as you think you probably should, take heart -- the new Aries Moon at 20º of Aries on Wednesday next week will be the time to make wishes, plans and inject fresh energy into your work or vocation. A bold new venture is heralded by Pallas Athene the goddess warrior with her move into Taurus. This is your cue to start thinking about your career and Pallas Athene’s arrival ahead of the pack into this area of your chart, like Aries, suggests that fortune favours the bold. Hold your horses a bit though, there is still much research to do and perhaps a bit of short-hop travel with an interesting, educated liberated friend.

Mercury still in your house of sex, death, tax and other people’s dosh has seen you plumbing the depths of your unconscious with an eery degree of lucidity, but hey it’s wearing a bit thin all this navel gazing. The lead from the Sun, Mars, Venus is to research what you’ve uncovered.

House interpretations are multi-layered, there is the obvious stuff and the not so obvious stuff, you’ve been engaged for a while with the not so obvious. Jupiter even under heavy weather continues to want to expand the range of contacts you are making in your social circles or simply expand your ideas about the future. With Pluto in your house of health and routine, thoroughly scruitinise your health from your toes up. Virgo ♍

The pressure has eased off a little from last week but you’re still under the watchful eye of your ruler Mercury across the ways in Pisces. He is still in shadow zone so wheels set in motion since February 6th have the potential to fall off. Come next Saturday/Sunday Mercury will be in the clear and you will feel more certain about nothing in particular and everything in general. Something to look forward to.

Pallas Athene’s move into your house of higher learning, distant lands, publishing and education, heralds the way for the the Sun, Mars’ and Venus’ transit of this delightful part of your chart. If you can take some time off to enjoy a broader vista, plan it for when Venus moves into Taurus on April 15th.

Your work life would be expanding more rapidly were it not for Pluto and Saturn in cahoots and applying braking pressure. We’re not supposed to put our careers on autopilot indeed it's almost impossible to . . . although some of us do have that luxury.

Pluto in your solar 5th suggests that if you have children you monitor them closely as your relationships with them are being overhauled for better or worse with power plays on both sides that will impress upon them. No one wins trying on a naked powerplay with Pluto but the energy is there. All use of the deeply moving Pluto needs to be for the greater good. Libra ♎

Tidy up loose ends at work. After April 6th Mercury will be out of shadow zone and you’ll have till April 16th to nip, tuck, file, trash and generally get your daily life and health in reasonable running order sans the ‘drag’ that’s been of late. The sixth house is your house of health and as you may know Neptune is plonked here and Chiron (tanks be, I think), for the long-haul. Being deluded about this area of your life is really not a good idea. You may be drawn towards some pretty whacky diets with Neptune here. That’s fine, but be careful with your health and don’t ignore any weird symptoms. Nor any symptoms really . . . That said, Chiron here too makes this a particularly healing time for you, for your body and for how you run your daily affairs. This is good huh?

Moving on as planets do, your thoughts turn to love, lust and finding that special someone. Such things never seem to happen very well when you go out looking for them, but if you set the stage someone may come looking for you. I know that sounds like pie in the sky. Build it and they will come --Yeah. Right. Whatever. But . . .Juno has entered Aquarius your solar fifth house of love affairs and there possibly be an Aquarian who appears on the radar. They could be ‘the one’. (Or at least one of the one’s.)

Enjoy the relief this week will brings with a few big sighs. An ‘exchange’ of sorts with someone over differing ideologies was going to happen sooner or later. Let it go and don’t think you failed in your famed diplomacy. Where there is no tension and no release situations stagnate, nothing changes and that’s not how to transmute or transform the abundance of energy we have to . . .er transmute or transform. hmmm

Scorpio ♏

While you throw yourself into your work Scorpio, Ceres slips into Cancer your solar ninth house forming a tetchy square to Eros newly arrived in Aries. This happens at week’s end, and it may have you wondering if there’s not more action, more fun and more fulfilment to be had somewhere other than at the daily grind? It could be a bit frustrating. Make a mental note to get away when you are a bit more freed up. Mercury is still in your house of adventure, lovers and fun, so use the period between the 6th and the 16th of April to plan ahead for an adventure of sorts. If you can plan now to get away in July all the better.

But meanwhile back at the salt mine. . . . This current pile-up in Aries will move on into Taurus and this is when you can safely expect your thoughts to turn to partnering up with someone and using less of your valuable energy for the purposes of simply getting through each wondrous, glorious, abundant, new day. Lucre rules this world in some ways . . . more’s the pity and while the Sun, Mars and Venus hang about in your house of work, service, routines and health, you may as well apply nose to grindstone. It won’t last, nothing does.

Pluto’s transit of your third house puts an inordinate amount of pressure on communications which have the potential to turn your life into an elaborate synchronous dance of apparently chance encounters and communiqués that revolutionise pretty much everything you thought you believed. So it’s not dull anyway. Even if it seems a bit bloody routine right now.

Sagittarius ♐

This week make a note of bright and brave ideas regarding your health and work. While this week is a lot less heavy cosmically than the one just past, it’s not without it’s odd moment here and there. The Sun in your house of ‘fun’ squares Pluto on Monday a couple of hours before the Sagittarian Moon turns void of course. This is advance warning not to let any financial snarl ups dampen your enthusiasm. Pluto is doing his thing and revolutionising your approach to your money, your stuff and your image. With regard to money this can be tough at first given the overarching importance we give money in this crazy world of mixed up people.

You don’t panic and you don’t feel badly if your financial world is going through a sort of vastation. Saturn in your 12th house in sextile to Pluto is helping to ensure that you are enlightened as to the real purpose of money in your life and how it can affect us quite immoderately if we allow ourselves to be pulled along by the ‘media reality’ that would insist that Mammon is God. You know better and you are right. So don’t get sucked into any mainstream media realities that tell you avarice and envy are a perfectly acceptable norm. Go against the tide on this one.

On Monday the Sun forms a sexy sextile to your ruler Jupiter in your house of dearly beloveds. This area of your life seeks expansion, you can and should connect with as many dearly beloveds or people you can enlist to your cause. They can help you understand more about yourself as well as aid you in practical ways. Eros into Aries translates (or could) as hot, lusty, affairs on-way.

Capricorn ♑

The current stellium in Aries is in your solar fourth house. On one level, and it’s a pretty superficial level, although that’s not to say it's not happening . . . the fourth house is about the dwelling where you live. Some would say that with Mars in your fourth house you can be found charging around, feather duster in hand, re-arranging furniture, and basically giving everyone else in your house the pip. And maybe that is you, but I’d wager that with Pluto’s . . er . . . evisceration of you (‘scuse the poetic license) this fourth house Aries action has been of a more deeply personal nature. By all means charge around mercilessly sucking up daddy long legs with the vacuum cleaner, giving your flat mates the shits etc, (or having a fine old time furiously re-everythinging if you live on your own!). But, if you have been more of a mind to do diddley-squat or the basic minimum around the house, chances are you’ve had other things of a more profound nature on your mind relating to childhood and your 'family of origin'. Some of which may have come on all of a sudden. All planets inner and outer work in wonderful concert with one another to help bring about change. None of it is deeply personal in its nature but by the time it gets to us wee humans we usually have no choice but to apply it personally.

Good news is Pallas Athene has entered your of house fun and adventure, so despite the tumult inside you can bravely go where no man or woman has gone and this time next month embark on an adventure, a new love affair, or spend more time goofing off with ze kids.

Aquarius ♒

Mercury out of shadow zone on the April 6th will make financial negotiations work more smoothly where they have stalled or ground to a complete standstill. Use the ten days from the 6th to 16th to really hone in on your finances and sort out any dead letter areas.

The Aries stellium has you thinking and putting energy into your everyday world and communication modes, but sans Mercury’s presence in this part of your chart, it might have been difficult, or at least as you might have sensed, not particularly timely to try and put a whole bunch of new ideas into action.

Pallas Athene has moved in to your 'home' suggesting that if you have to make brave moves regarding your actual house or like your neighbour Capricorn, make inroads into family of origin issues you have cosmic support from the warrior goddess. Soon you will be the one charging around with the feather duster rearranging your home life to suit numero uno. Just be mindful of the other folks who live with you --Mars in the fourth can be a real pain in the butt to flatmates when it’s your fourth house and not their’s that Mars’ is transiting. Venus follows Pallas Athene into your fourth house on April 16th, so start off nice with fresh flowers and a soiree perhaps?

Circe now in Leo is in your opposing numbers speaks of romantic magic to light your fire and Juno in Aquarius adds to your pull factor.

Anger and the need to stop the rot has been something of a blight for you lately feelings of being pissed off with other people’s merde may have tipped the balance. Cut and run, Aquarius. People won’t fuq you around once made aware of your bite back ability.

Pisces ♓

Mercury's move out of shadow land on April 6th will help you out of any fog of confusion you may have been wondering if you're actually in of late. Later in the month his move into Aries is the greenlight to attend assiduously to your finances--for a bit anyway. Your inner world is expanding quite happily for you and Juno is offering some protection for your excursions into its depths. This is a happy boon because the unconscious or the shadow side of our lives while vast and rich and abundant with lots of treasure to mine, can also be a tad . . . confronting, scary and simply disorientating. You need a certain amount of fortitude and bravery to plummet the depths and Juno offers divine protection for such endeavours. Pluto and the Sun form a tetchy square on Monday during the Sagittarius Moon, don't push financial negotiations or career manoeuvres on that day if you can help it because you might hit a bit of a wall or a sharpish corner.

Juno's move into your twelfth house and Pallas Athene's move into your solar third house call for and support bravery with how you go about your business in the world, confident that you are growing and expanding in the right directions. Jupiter in your solar fourth not only affects your actual house, but helps expand your understanding of where you've come from.

This is an easier week for the dreamy Pisces who intuitively knows that life most certainly is not all it appears.

The Moon burst into Virgo at 2:49am on Monday morning Sydney time. Like about now.

Make hay folks, because by midnight it will have turned void of course where it will nitpick around void of course in Virgo all day Tuesday until it moves into Libra at 8:30 am.on Wednesday morning.

It's interesting to watch the Moon and void Moons in relationship to exact hit planetary aspects. For instance, while the Moon is void of course on Tuesday, Mars Sextile's Jupiter.--if you're having trouble getting your Jupiter 'on' use this burst of Martian oomph. 10:00 pm Monday evening--Sydney time. Jupiter is in my sixth house at the moment but it's not really working for me, the energy is very skittish and Pluto and Saturn are heavy dominating/domineering energies. But I digress. Meanwhile . . .

The Moon will have arrived in Libra when Mars makes an exact square to Pluto. One would like to think that a Libran Moon would go some way to alleviating a clash between Pluto and Mars.... perhaps. There is a chart further down, look to see which houses these two will clash to see perhaps something to avoid or defend yourself against. Jupiter squares Chiron a few hours before the Moon is full in Libra at 8:25 pm Sydney on Wednesday.

The Moon is void of course in Libra in the early hours of Thursday to let us fully take in Mercury trine Saturn, Sun conjunct Venus, Venus conjunct Uranus,   the Sun conjunct Uranus . Forty five minutes later the Moon enters Scorpio at 11:55am on Friday morning.

On Saturday Mercury conjuncts Chiron and Uranus moves out of shadow zone, i.e. it starts moving over fresh fields in Aries--things could hot up. Eros Trines Psyche, Mercury squares Jupiter and Sextile's Pluto all before the Scorpio Moon goes void of course on Saturday morning at 7:25 Sydney time.

A long intense weekend coming up with the Moon moving into Sagittarius by Sunday afternoon at around 2:15pm

Oh and Pallas Athene enters Taurus on Saturday 30th.

Sounds like a full week. I'm exhausted already.

This Libran Full Moon promises to be intense. As you can see from the chart below, the Moon and Sappho are opposing a pile up of heavy hitters in gung-ho Aries. All close personal relationships will be affected by this full Moon and with Mars and Pluto squaring off briefly, external pressures could put relationships at tipping point. Libra is about balance, give and take. Insecure or neurotic demands upon a relationship could leave you out in the cold.

Aries ♈

If you can charge ahead without having to explain yourself to anyone, all the better. Otherwise you may have to wait for Mercury to get into Aries in mid-April, to feel as though you really are firing on all 12 cylinders and everybody understands where you're coming from. The mid-week full Moon in Libra is in your solar house of relationships, it is a scrutineer Moon of sorts but could well bring background lust to the fore. Keep an eye on your finances, Saturn hasn't completely gone on the blink. Somebody new has turned up in your social scene, and this person could well be the object of your amor/lust.

Mercury continues his forward momentum through your social circles, but it's wearing a bit thin by now as you are drawn more towards sorting through your 'secret person's business'. Pressure from your house of friends that has been feeding too regularly into your work has the potential to burst out with the full Moon on Wednesday. A friendly aspect from Saturn in your relationship house to Chiron in your house of friends suggests you know on one level how transformative this rather intense time of late has been. Full Moon weeks always tend to make people--the 'general public' flip-out. You won't be one of them, because Aquarian aloofness is going to be your saving grace this week. The Full Moon is in your house of higher learning and education as fine a place to retreat to as any. This is not the week to go full steam ahead with pushing your plans through, people will be flaky and unreliable and you can't really take them on their word. Keep plotting Pisces. Another image specifically with Aries in mind. Rembrandt called this painting ‘Man in Armour’ probably because trying to pass this divine creature off as a soldier was going to seem a tad incongruous. So my searching for Rembrandt’ s ‘Centurian’ or ‘Soldier’ got me precisely nowhere. So Man in Armour—what a guy. Gorgeous huh? Sorry Aries, but I digress. You are this person, ready for battle, but still a tad pensive, you have spent a seeming age marking time, having incomprehensible dreams, and weeping incomprehensible tears. . . A state that is set to change fairly dramatically when the Sun lights your fire mid-week heralded by your ruler Mar’s entry into Aries last week. You reinvent yourself in a hurry on the run—which no one would advise, but this is what you’ll do. As an Aries, alacrity is in your nature and you can trust it. Mercury lingers in you solar 12th just to keep you on message—compassion, sympathy, mercy and ooohh lookee at 0º of Aries as Mercury stations direct—asteroid Amor. Good grief! You’ve almost been rendered mute by the number and variety of people you’ve had to deal with lately, and now the planets start to pile up in your solar 12th house where there is work of quite an exciting if somewhat secretive nature to do. Such a wide range of impressions from people need time to . . . settle, you need to let these impressions all sink-in, confident that your unconscious-self will throw up the odd realisation that is spot on in its accuracy. At the moment however it’s all still a bit confusing. Saturn is forming a healing trine from your house of creativity to your house knowledge. Falling in love with an idea huh? While the Sun, Mars and Venus form a pow-wow in Aries, your solar ninth house of higher learning, you may find yourself being drawn by the notion of what knowledge can do for you. Knowledge=power (and responsibility). With Uranus setting up shop in this part of your chart for some time to come, ideas and knowledge of a higher bent has the power to transform you—er . . . should you need transforming and given that most of us are not perfect and energy is a moving thing, transformation is actually impossible to avoid. While soever Neptune remains firmly plonked in your relationship sector you’re not going to get any crystal clear indications here for a while—subtle insights that only you understand and can see, but nothing that grabs you by the short and curlies and says yes, yes, yes, this is definite. With Saturn retrograde you have time to take stock of the changes in your point of view and your level of self-acceptance. The latter which you must integrate. The north node still sits in Scorpio suggesting that for all of us this is a time of penetrating insights that are karmic in their ramifications. Asteroid Psyche is still in Scorpio giving you a better appreciation than the average bear for the majority of interactions which occur between us that go on sans any actual vocalisation. It is in your nature to read between the lines to see the emotions that lie below the surface—the presence of Psyche in Scorpio serves to reinforce this talent of your’s. Asteroid Juno has just moved into your fourth house, which could suggest an archetypal goddess type moving into your house in body or perhaps in spirit. The boundaries you’ve put in place here protect you from any kind of malevolence in your home and Juno’s transit of Aquarius will help to protect you in your home. The next full Moon is in Libra, your solar twelfth house—a culmination of sorts in your soul sector.

There’s always something to look forward to in astrology and I can almost guarantee you that you will enjoy the next month a million times more than you enjoyed the one now past. Enough already of the realisations about the roots of your being, cabin fever officially set in towards the end of last week, and with Mars’ entry into your solar fifth house of FUN and this week the Sun and Venus about to join him, it’s time to get out of the house and have some fun, (goddamit!), doing the sorts of things that feed your soul. It promises to be a spectacular month -- should we get through this week. Pluto’s transit of your house of cash and resources is sextile Saturn in your twelfth house of all things erstwhile unconscious. In order to avoid any really rude shocks about what’s lurking down there, it’s probably not a bad idea to make your unconscious as fully ‘conscious’ as you can through your dreams and/or your intuitions. Saturn is going to turn up discrepancies here and in sextile to Pluto’s transformation of your second house which also happens to be the house of your image in the world. You have a soul clothed in a body but as far as the rest of the world is concerned, you only appear to have a body--your soul is invisible. I don’t think the idea here is to wear your heart on your sleeve necessarily, but for you to integrate what Saturn turns up into your personality and hence your image, not so much for the benefit of yourself—you’re already ‘in’ there so to speak, but if people recognise you are in contact with the deeper aspects of yourself, your relationships are likely to be more satisfying because they will more accurately reflect who you really are. Hmmm, easier said than done. You need to be authentic about this, in some ways it needs to happen spontaneously without too much affectation on your part. I’ve mentioned Pholus, currently at 22º of Sagg, so he’s been there a while. You could read this by Eric Francis and see if you can ‘join the dots’. Chances are the action of Pholus is unconscious and you yourself might be completely unaware of the chain of events in people’s lives you have unwittingly been the driver of. I guess you don’t worry about that at all, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

At 11º Pluto is now through the first decan of Capricorn, which is the Taurus decan. This could cheekily be called the groundwork for Pluto. He has now moved into the Virgo chapter of his transit through Capricorn and this could be a time of a battle for control or maybe self-control and a great deal of worry about how you appear to others in the context of the definitely out your control changes to your very being. Sounds like fun huh? Well it’s a bit of a change of pace and emphasis anyway. Pluto is forming a nice sextile to Chiron in your house of communications where Mercury turned retrograde and where the focus of the last few weeks emotional . . . quagmire has been. Pluto in sextile to Chiron speaks of help and healing. The good doctor learns a great deal about himself as he goes about the business of ‘healing’ his patients. It is a two-way street, as is the case between the wounded healer Chiron in your communication zone and Pluto in your own sign. You are healed and you heal through words. Pluto makes his presence felt quite personally but his demand is that you do something about what he turns up for you that is of benefit universally. i.e,for instance, you learn about the pain of others through an understanding of your own. Jupiter’s transit of your sixth house has been inhibited by Saturn and Pluto. While many of us astrologers thought this yod a mighty fine thing, some months later I at least think it is acting as a brake on Jupiter in Gemini. They are like the caveats in cahoots to the usually, expansionary, Jupiter. So, don’t beat yourself up too badly if you haven’t been able to make the enormous strides in your work or your health you might have hoped would manifest more easily. Jupiter in Gemini wakes us up early and keeps us up with a busy mind. Meantime it’s action stations on the home front as everybody piles into Aries. Mercury mops up in your communication zone giving you a chance to set the record straight if need be. The Libra full moon builds in your career house.

The nice news is Aquarius, Juno 'Queen of the Heaven' or maybe Stepford Wife, has moved into Aquarius adding to your personal magnetism—not that you need any more pulling power. . . . The schamozzle in Pisces is passing. If you had your druthers you probably wouldn’t appoint Pisces as gatekeeper of your finances, you’d prefer someone more sober, more reliable more grounded, like Capricorn or Taurus. Priorities Aquarius. Cash comes and goes but your soul life which Capricorn next door more or less oversees, lasts and lasts and lasts. So it’s good that Pluto is there turning up all manner of what you imagined were very well concealed . . . embarrassments. Yes? This week your energy is diverted to how you communicate and what you communicate as the Sun moves into Aries followed by Venus to join Mars. Mercury hangs around in your cash zone, so you can clear up any discrepancies in your finances over the next week or so. Jupiter is doing his best to expand your creative enterprises or your relationship with children, but he his under heavy pressure from Saturn in your work zone and Pluto in your house of the unconscious self. Your birthday month comes to a close Pisces this week and it’s time to look at what’s keeping you materially sustained here on Planet Earth. Your house of cash has in the last week received a surge of interest from you with Mars’s move into Aries and this week the Sun and Venus join him. While the rest of us have been having a somewhat emotional time of it lately, you my friend have been the cool cucumber enjoying the stirrings, the reality checks and the enlightenment that the Sun brought when he hit up on Neptune and Chiron. There is a good trine from Saturn to Chiron. It is good. Hard but good. Truth in healing. Our resilience is fortified, or we didn't make it. Astrologically this has been 'the week that was'. The weak that was but wis no more.

If you haven't located your own particular existential angst in the last week, you must have been working on the sea floor, and if you were working the sea floor then you were doing the stars pretty well. Pisces is fluid, moving, emotion. It is moody and this week with lots of Chiron energy this week's moodiness has been so much more . . . profound than the usual.

It's a killer chart. Looks like all these planets are going to be slung-shot over into Libra, Virgo and Leo, but they're not--it just looks like it.

Venus in Pisces is square to Vesta in Gemini and Eros is coming up to do same. Something to do with sex and food and a sort of stand-off/juncture.

I've heard despicable things in my life and one of them was an Afghani law that allows a man to withhold food to a woman who is withholding sex. He wins basically. And she gets to eat some of the food she's prepared for him. &c ...

Life is a sliding scale of relativities. But with this level of barbarism in the world based solely on gender one has to over-correct to balance it maybe. Maybe it's time to cook boys? Lots of carefully and lovingly prepared feasts that are not primarily a monument to your ego, but a genuine offering of love to someone you care very much about. You could try copying her. She's mostly doing it, most days. There could be no finer turn on--evidently.

Someone a lot less heavy of heart than you is knocking at your door--trying to draw you out into a world you're tad wary of at the moment. Is it a partner a friend? An adventure is looming and you will have some fun. Your friends understand you better than perhaps you give them credit for. They would cajole you and will be well-pleased when you emerge stronger, sexier and glowing with lucidity. Listen to your friend's stories this week. With the conjunction of Venus to Neptune occurring in your relationship sector—you have a better chance than the average Jo of really pleasing romantic moments that sing a song of healing through . . . well teary sex. Eros has moved into your house of relationships and conjuncts the wounded Chiron this week. For all, this conjunction implies healing through Eros—but Chiron was a satyr after all; maybe he just wants to throw a bawdy party that ends up in tears? Tensions on the home front get sparked off between lovers but such tension is the proverbial storm in a teacup and will die down if you don’t hit it with gasoline—so to speak. You must not expand this passing aggravation even though you possibly have real grievances with this person. You do not need WWIII in your relationship sector right now if ever you did. There’s still a bunkering down mentality to these stars for Sagittarius as one by one these new arrivals into Pisces have been teasing you a tad mercilessly as Pisces are sometimes prone to do. Jupiter and Black Moon Lilith, Ceres and Vesta in your relationship sector have all been in hard aspect to something in Pisces of late. Notice the goading but don’t extrapolate if you can possibly help it. Venus in the home is a bloody blessing anyway, why spoil the party?

Trying to get any sense out of anyone at the moment seems a tad unlikely. Oh well. You are in the mood to do some intellectual exploration, you’d like to discuss your ideas, but people do seem on the whole completely elsewhere occupied. Perhaps you’ll have to write them letters, or emails, but I wouldn’t expect too much in the way of satisfactory responses. This weather is set to continue for another ten days or so—perhaps you should just write. “Dear God”, or a wonderful suggestion I read the other day was to write a letter to you from yourself in five years’ time. I actually haven’t found the right time to do this but I think if you’re brave, optimistic, realistic and wise it would be a marvellously clarifying experience. Self-examination which clearly such an exercise demands is confronting though. The pressure has eased off in your wider circles, but you are not without the backward looking influence of Saturn’s stance in Scorpio. Friends can be relied on to be with you in spirit if not actually with you in person.

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of cash, which no matter how you spin it suggests a lot of caution in this part of your life, plus the stellium of stars in Pisces, chasing down lucre seems a particularly otherworldly thing to be doing while 11/12ths of the population indulge in some sort of collective emotional catharsis. What is wrong with everybody? Emotionality in people is something that of course you concede—but everybody all the time. You remain a bit of a cool fish under these stars—they do encourage you to escape to planet aloof but the commerce involved on Planet Earth keeps you having to function here . . . somehow. A bit like the stillness found at 2am, you take the opportunity of people thoroughly immersed in their own dramas to reflect on what you’re doing without the pressure of having to do it perfectly. I wouldn’t doubt if you’ve changed tacks in the last 18 months or so, you’re on course. Prepare for an explosion of communication and MORE ideas.

You hog! Er sorry ‘bout that. Alive and Brilliant eh what? I cannot guide you Pisces it is not possible to do or say anything to generally counsel the fishes’ path of late. You simply have to experience each day as soberly as you possibly can to glean the value from the current stellium in your sign. You have no doubt made and reaffirmed some lovely connections with lovers and friends and had some dewy-eyed encounters with the odd complete stranger where the mystical meeting of minds was both transitory and salutary. Try to cling to anything and it invariably slips away. The first new Moon of February welcomes in a new Chinese Year. A brand new Snake Year.
Other than knowing a bit about the personalities of other Chinese year beasties I've known and loved, I cannot pretend to know very much about Chinese Astrology.

Snakes as we know are beautiful, mysterious, quite shy, sometimes territorial and particularly in Australia, usually very lethal. Chances are if you are bitten by venemous snake and you receive no treatment you will die.

So naturally we fear the snake, but we also naturally if sometimes only begrudgingly respect the snake. Snakes want to keep out of our way and be left alone to do their thing. Snakes have a very tough life and survival rates are low compared to young born or hatched. Starvation and predation are their biggest killers. They don't really have time to fuck around biting humans, they need to find a meal and generally that's not us.

Today's new Moon, world times here, is something of a demarcation line, it is squared by the North and South nodes, so there is a challenge to whatever we resolve. We are forced to question our motivations in the light of our understanding. There is no hiding from ourselves in this and we need to think and plan carefully, considerably and with compassion for the future from what we know today.

The light of consciousness doesn’t do very much when we turn it on in our being. ‘Doing’ is not really its thing. It's just as well you're made of stern stuff Capricorn. Pluto in the first is quite some thing. You could be losing grip on who you are, but I doubt it. Lovely Venus in Aquarius, ahhhh. But not so easy Aqua, this new Moon comes with a pointy square to our collective destiny. Yikes! I hear you cry. Yikes Indeed. Chinese New Year, your annual new Moon at 21º of Aquarius, sextile Pholus at 21º Sagg, square north node, at 21º Scorp. Mars squaring up to Jupes today. Cautious or constrained expansion which sounds like a contradiction in terms, constrained expansion, but Jupiter Square Mars suggests a certain amount of hard right hand turns concerning power surges. . . It is an auspicious time to be an Aquarian in the midsts of such things, so enjoy yourself. Jupiter's station direct has given you a boost and plenty of momentum and your enthusiasm levels are up. It's a complicated sky (no kidding) but with the obvious front and centre, Moon, Sun and Venus in your sign you've probably got a better than average understanding of what's going on for all, even if you have to make it up suddenly on the run. Uranus lights up your mind in flashes, it feels normal, sort of, but life hasn't ever been quite so . . . clear cut . . . or something . . . . I guess that's Neptune departed. Hoobloodyray! This is your soul Moon Pisces. Goodbye to the Year of the Dragon

I spent the evening with a fellow Dragon,--at '52 Dragon. At one stage I thought to ask him how the Dragon year had been for him. He like me was a bit non-plussed. I remember the last Chinese Dragon year didn't seem to be especially crash hot. Neither noticeably good nor bad. A bit like this one, but I said to my friend, even at the eleventh hour, it ain't over yet.

And so we sat outside under the pine trees, two lonely old Dragons with Jupiter the only star visible and a good, long, clear, view to the west and watched the most amazing electrical storms way off in the distance that went on for hours and surrounded us on three sides. Earlier that day the ground literally shook with some enormous cracks of booming thunder that must have covered a distance of twenty kilometres which is about the distance between here and his place.--he'd felt them too. It's not often that thunder literally shakes the foundations.

We laughed watching in amazement this fantastic phenomena and were pleased that in the end we had indeed got some bang for our buck.

Hello Snake Year. Perhaps we can 'up' your image this year and encourage farmers not to shoot you or intentionally run you over on the road. Perhaps. . . .

There's a bit more of this turgid dark Moon business to go until it's reborn towards the end of the day. New Moon Horoscopes are almost ready to post and will appear as if by magic, sometime in the next few hours.

I can barely get my head around western astrology, Chinese astrology is a complete mystery to me, but I do know that when I discovered I was a Dragon it helped me to understand a little bit more about myself. An Aquarian Dragon we're 'too much' apparently! Oh well. Ces't la vie.

Mars into Pisces is a time to vigorously explore aspects of life that relate to the twelfth house. Mars in Pisces doesn't do full blown, muscular, self-assertion. Trying to physically work out an excess of Mars energy whilst he transits Pisces, probably isn't going to cut it.

Mars hasn't been in Pisces since 2009 and he certainly hasn't had to run head long into Neptune for a long time before that. Mars is trailblazing at the moment--which is exciting. Mars in Pisces is Yin whereas next up we have Mars in Aries--not Yin.

Mars’ move into your twelfth house will dampen down your energies and give you cause for reflection, which at this time of your solar year is only fitting. The Sun in Aquarius, your solar eleventh house until the 19th of this month is enhanced by Venus’ arrival into Aquarius, but your heart won’t really be in a lot of hobnobbing with the endless people even though you are patently an astute and effective communicator especially with Jupiter’s movement forward in your communications sector. Mars is headed for a conjunction with Neptune, on Monday and on Thursday Mercury moves into Pisces also. This week Aries it’s business as usual for you and all the world to see, but you must pay particular attention to your dreams because your internal world is where the action is for you right now. Money makes the world go around. A mark, a yen, a buck or a pound? Jupiter’s move forward will have felt like the pressure valve on a cooker being wound off a bit. Jupiter is not alone in his transit of Gemini. He has lots of guidance from goddess asteroids Vesta and Ceres with Black Moon Lilith ensuring no nonsense. (pfft) Jupiter in Gemini unwieldy though he be, is not about to get away with anything too outlandish. Jupiter, Vesta, Ceres and Black Moon Lilith, are quite some stew, bubbling excitedly away in Gemini. Jupiter’s tendency to expand all it touches i.e you Gemini, puts you in the unique position of being able to direct this expansion into whatever part of your life you so choose. I’d suggest you not ignore Saturn in your house of health, work, and daily routines. Jupiter in your own sign can mean quantum leaps which boggle even the quick witted Gemini but staying with Saturn a while, will act as a stabilising force, so you don’t expand too much in the wrong direction. Mars’ move into your career house adds plenty of impetus to get your shit together and Venus into Aquarius sends a lot of wonderfully whacky ideas your way. OK I agree that sounded a bit lame but the line up in chatty Gemini in your solar eleventh house suggests quite a variety of different people coming into your life and what else can you do with these people but bring them home (OMG!) and learn from them? When you’re not out carousing in the limelight continue on with the Saturnine purge at home. I’ve tried this and it does seem to work pretty well. Depreciation sets in the moment you have it in your hot hands and sooner or later if you were in two minds to start with you will decide to put it back. Not quite what we were expecting from a Mars transit. You also have Neptune to consider. . . .Venus has moved from you being happily the popular party muse to you in gracious help mode. Shit eh? Were you ready for this turn of events? And then there’s this occlusion with Mars and your Neptune and your’s-for-now, Chiron. You weren’t ready were you? Get ready. This week, take it easy as you should with the Sun still in your solar twelfth house and think of some way you can use Mars energy while you feel simultaneously like withdrawing from the world. Mars over Neptune suggests energy for something purely artistic. I know! Redecorate. Jupiter expands your fourth house; but not without company. Trying to decide between one of two, taking sides in gender wars, who does what and why. Such questions seem bigger and louder than normal. When the Sun finally enters your sign on the 19th of Feb, Mars will be easier to take advantage of Venus will arrive and you’ll get the Mars, Venus, Sun and Mercury line-up in Pisces shortly after (lucky shit)—a breath of fresh air. Understanding Spiritual Attacks

As you spiritually evolve, which is the same as increasing and expanding your mindfullness, the spiritual attacks on you increase. You are moving away from a hodge-podge of disorganised amorphous matter and turning yourself, (with help) into an organised, directed, focused and polarised (yes, you need an azimuth to evolve) 'being'-- of some sort.

This upsets many of the other sprogs in the pond, with whom you must continue to co-exist. One less in their number necessarily weakens them and their unchanging, somnambulistic modus operandi. They protest your individuating leap for freedom and try to drag you down to their level -- again. You know their tactics, you know their evil little minds because you have been there for yourself. You are very familiar with the buttons they are pressing and the lure to draw you in to some spat, or the need to defend yourself against attack is very strong.

This is the pointy end of any kind of inner-work, when you must apply it to actual instances in your day. Sometimes you 'succeed' and other times you get drawn into an exchange which produces no victors and merely reinforces the ranks of mindless sprogs in the pond. Dang.

My teacher explained this when he said, (within a year of his death) that the spiritual attacks on him were greater than ever before. Such narky energies did not simply go away, you rendered quiescent the ones you owned, -- you stopped feeding those particular wolves, but they were still there. Instead he had an enlarging and whole other place he could go to escape them completely, a realm of which they had no experience other than a few flashes of inspiration that frightened them. Stuck in wounded childhood attitudes--years of the rough-end-of-the-stick, such entities are determined to remain miserable. They delight in their sufferings and would have you do same.

It is difficult to resist attacks, but if you are on a spiritual path, and find yourself facing an array of attacks that rouse the very 'qualities' in you, you are trying to move away from, take heart. This is normal.

Continue on expanding your mindfullness, using self-observation, doing the Work, whatever it is you do; white lighting yourself, praying, biting your lip, staying focused on what your soul might want for you.

Jupiter is transiting my sixth house and the routine (s) of daily life have been anything but routine. I'm thinking I'll have to get back to writing lists and carrying a notebook. Finding that really good idea you had in the morning--hours later . . . well it's gone. Shoulda wrote it down.

I can't quite tell yet, but I'm seriously hoping that Jupiter's lurch forward will help my brain, the contents of which seem to have turned into a bewildering panoply of immoveable, forgetful, ~~sludge.~~ scenes of wonderment.

Jupiter in Gemini is a bit much really. But clearly it is our due, and so we make the most of it.
Actually maybe the problem is not with Jupiter in Gemini but having Gemini in the sixth house. . . . hmmm.

I met a triple Gemni the other day. Ascendant 6º (!) I"m looking forward to another meeting to see if I can discern a different vibe. Triple Gem. Gee. Almost inconceivable. . . .

The feeling of strength, vigor and easy determination with Jupiter in my sixth has, since he turned tail in October, been supplanted by a vague, uneasy feeling that I am floundering in a sea of infinite possibilities about what I could be doings, what I should be doings and what I end up doings. Every Day. It has not been dull, but I'm beginning to wonder about my cognition. All has been seemingly increasingly random of late.

Useful to remember, when I do that there is only one God. If I can remember nowt else, remember that and eventually, maybe I'll remember every other little thing that is of any importance.

Prime Minister Gillard has done the unprecedented, causing outrage and sending the twittersphere into paroxysms of wonderment and protest by wearing glasses at her address to the National Press Club in Canberra today. (While also mentioning something about an election on September 14th this year).

On hearing the latter news, one or two of the three hundred-odd million astrologers on twitter thought they smelt a rat, or was it just another astrologer? -- A Prime Ministerial astrologer whose identity and indeed whose very existance will remain forever a State Secret and whose advice will be vehmently denied by Ms Gillard. (Making being Astrologer to the PM a bit of a dud gig).

This date, planned months in advance could not have been better chosen for Ms Gillard when deciding which Saturday in September or October would pair her up with the sky gods in ways most advantageous. There's a pretty good chance she figured it out for herself armed with her chart and an ephemeris and that there is no Astrologer to the Prime Minister and Cabinet--yet. Either way eat your heart out Tony Abbott, if Ms Gillard is sensibly using all available tools, which includes the sky above, to her advantage, methinks you are a done like a dinner mate.

Oh happy serendipity that her Sun will have just crossed over her MC into her tenth house, that Mercury will be mid-way through a tenth house transit and conjunct her Sun, that Venus has just passed over her natal Mars and is conjunct her natal Mercury. She will be bringing the bacon home to Australians with transiting Ceres conjunct her natal Venus and two days before the election when opposition knives will be out in earnest Black Moon Lilith will have just passed over her Vertex.

There's SFA she can do about Saturn conjunct Neptune or indeed Neptune conjunct Chiron and Chiron conjunct Pallas Athene. Transiting Pallas Athene is conjunct her Part of Fortune so it will be quite some week for our Prime Minister whatever the outcome.

Were it true that Australia's Prime Minister had consulted an astrologer or spent a bit of time with her chart and ephemeris, she won't be admitting to it to anyone any time soon.

The 'luminaries', Sun and Moon and fleet-of-foot (for now) Mercury will 'ping off' Jupiter this week.

Jupiter is the elephant in the room at the moment and would seem to need a few prods to stir him into 'being' and there are no shortage of prods to Jupiter this week.

In June the Great Benefic/Attractor will leave Gemini and move into Cancer. This is good news, but in the meantime we must take full advantage Jupiter's visitation of Gemini.

Jupiter in Gemini has been a little disheveling as Jupiter is said to be in 'detriment' in Gemini. Too much too fast for the big bloke in the sky--no wonder he's taken the last few months off.

If you have your own chart check which house Jupiter is transiting and contemplate the issues, problems, boons or forward movement you've made in this area of your life in the light of what you now know. How have your ideas or actions in this area of your life expanded for better or for worse. You undoubtedly now know what needs to happen in this part of your life.

This week, Tuesday after lunch (in Australia) is the perfect time to take a few minutes to 'ask the universe' to provide divine light and inspiration for this part of your life so when Jupiter moves forward at the end of the month you will be more than ready for the vacuum and burst of energy that Jupiter's forward move will create. This is an excellent stellar line-up for you to have a lot of fun networking.
