When Phillips abandoned his wife, he took with him their only child, Clara, then 6 years of age. Mrs. Phillips heard that her husband was married again and was the father of a family, but she was unable until two years ago to locate him. He fled and his second wife and family joined him in New York. Clara and her mother, after their long separation, met in February of last year, and an aflecting scene took place. The daughter visited her mother afterwards. Mrs. Phillips now claims that her husband is employed on one of the elevated roads in New York and she has applied for a warrant for his arrest for bigamy.<br />
