THE CELEBRATION OF A LEGEND

The story all started on the 27^th of September, 1954. On this fateful day, Dr. David was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim Oyedepo in the town called Osogbo in Osun state. He is a native of Omu Aran in Kwara State. His father was a Muslim healer, while his mother by the name, Dorcas, was a member of the Eternal Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, a branch of the Aladura church.

But as fate would have it, he grew up instead with his grandmother who then lived in Osogbo town. She was the one who exposed him to Christianity. She taught him how to pray and also to believe in himself. With this exposure to God from his grandma’, giving his life to God wasn’t a difficult thing to do after all. Soon a teacher in his school who was also a Christian picked interest in him and was able to lead him to Christ in 1969, otherwise known as being ‘Born Again’.

After his high school, he proceeded to the tertiary institution where he studied Architecture in Kwara State Polytechnic after which he worked for a little while at the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin. He later resigned from his job in order to go fully into the gospel. Being a man that derives pleasure from acquiring knowledge, he went further in his education by acquiring a PH.D in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United States.

His call to ministry started on the 2^nd of May, 1981 where he saw a life vision that lasted for 18hrs. In this vision, he saw a mixed multitude that consist of the beaten, the afflicted, the battered, the tattered, the deformed and all that one could ever imagine, groaning and agonizing, as a result of pains and pangs, crying as it were for rescue. It was a moving sight that made him to sob profusely non-stop.

In the course of the vision, he got a clear message from God to liberate man-kind from the oppression of the devil through the preaching of the Word of Faith. This was how the ministry got started. But it didn’t take off big. It started with a weekly programme known as Faith Liberation Hour in conjunction with a prayer meeting tagged The Power House. The authenticity of a thing is when the results are obvious. Today, the testimonies that the Word of Faith has produced are most humbling.

The ministry started in the most humbling way. It had no befitting structure at the beginning but a Grass Cathedral (a little structure made with grass). But today, there is the Faith Tabernacle, the 50,000-seater sanctuary reported to be the largest church auditorium in the world. It also stands as one of the largest single congregation in the world. In addition, the Living Faith Church has a large staff strength with over 2,000 employees in Nigeria alone with a network of hundreds of flourishing churches spread across all the states and in every major city and town in the country.

The ministry with time also went into education as a way of contributing to the Nigerian Education. Its contributions to this sector brought about Kingdom Heritage, Faith Academy, Covenant University and Land Mark University. Today, Kingdom Heritage and Faith Academy are in most cities of the country.

No doubt Dr. Oyedepo was bold and confident enough to follow the path laid before him and today that singular step has made such a great impact on the world.

What would have happened if he had given up? What would have happened to the lives that have been changed as a result of their contact with this great man?

It’s no more news the waves being made by graduates of Covenant University in the economy. What would have happened to these youths if this man had chickened out when the going was very rough and uncertain? But No! He didn’t give up! He held on even when all odds were against him. Today he’s been celebrated worldwide.

So friends, if you have a goal or a dream, believe in it, fight for it and pursue it. Great men struggle through obstacles to reach their destination. They don’t follow where the path may lead but instead they create a path and leave a trail where others can follow.

So then, go after that dream and don’t give up. You might just be the saving grace the world has been waiting for. Cheers(*_*)

THE ORIGINAL SOURCE

Everyone prefares to use a product that is original. No one wants to use the fake of a product. But sometimes, people tend to settle for the fake as long as it looks like the original and most importantly, if it is more affordable than the original.

What happens then when the original of a product is actually cheaper than the fake? Obviously, people will settle for the original and the producers of the fake will run out of business. But won't it be ironical if in spite of it being cheaper and of better quality than the the fake, people still prefare the fake to it? If that's the case, then something is wrong somewhere.

God is LOVE! He is LOVE personified. He is the original source of LOVE. His kind of LOVE is pure, sincere, kind, patient, caring and selfless. The beauty of it is that it cost nothing to have it. The one the world offers is not only expensive but corrupt, cruel, selfish and adulterated. Then why do people prefare the kind of love that brings pain to the one that is so beautiful and yet affordable?

You may ask: how can one have access to this LOVE that is so pure and sweet? It's very simple! All you need to do is ask for it and it's yours. You can check these references from the Holy Bible and see for yourself that the only thing separating you from this beautiful LOVE is just by asking(Psalm 81:10 , Matthew 7:7).

Once that LOVE comes in, the hate will disappear, the frustration will cease, the corruption will give way to justice and the ability to show LOVE to others will come upon you so easily. Wouldn't that make the world a better place?

THE ABANDONED CHILD

Hello friends, just came across a heart-breaking story that needs to be shared…

The above picture is that of a 6 Year Old HIV Positive Boy who was forced to live alone in Rural South West, CHINA. Both his parents died of AIDS and the poor child is made to live on his own, doing his own washing, cooking and studying. His 84 year old grandmother planted vegetables for him and visits frequently. She cooks for him, but will not live with the child. Everyone else in his life, including the primary school where he attends also rejected him. His only friend and companion is his dog.

Children are precious gifts both to parents and the society and should be handled with care and love. A child doesn't have to be, or do anything in particular to earn the love of his family. Infact, children require unconditional love to thrive in a world that is full of uncertainties.

If a child has HIV/AIDS, comfort can be taken in knowing that there is hope for the child's future. This is so because, research has it that eighty percent of infected children have a slow rate of disease progression which means that it takes a long time before the disease gets worse. Infact, with treatment, children with HIV survive for long and they pose no threat to the people around them at all. It’s been discovered that there are many adults alive today who were infected with HIV from their mothers at birth and have grown into adulthood. This means that a child who is infected can still live a normal life and does not need to be treated like an Outcast by his own family.

Research also has it that when a child feels unconditionally loved, he's more likely to blossom and live a very healthy life irrespective of the infection he has but the reverse is the case when he is discriminated against like in the story above.

The treatment against this child is very inhuman and should be given utmost attention by the necessary Bodies.

Please read my story and kindly share your views by telling me what you would have done if you were in my shoes. Your contributions will be highly appreciated.

As a Christian, I try to obey the scriptures to the fullest and that includes showing Love to all.
An incident happened on a certain day that made me to think deeply on this issue called 'Love'. I think as good people of God, we should Love with wisdom so as not to fall prey to the tactics of the devil. The bible says we should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil.

This is my story: After church service one Sunday, I was driving out of the church premises when I noticed some persons standing under the hot sun waiting for a taxi. From their appearance you could tell they have been under the scotching sun for long. As a good-hearted fellow, I decided to give them a lift(both male and female). After all, we are church members(so I thought).

As I drove on, each of them came down at their designated bus stops and as they did, they thanked and released words of blessing over me. I really felt good for being of assistance to them. After a while, I noticed I was left alone in the car with a lady. Well, I felt she was still going far and so I kept quiet but when I was almost getting to my street, I stopped the car and politely asked her to get down and then the unimaginable happened! This lady started screaming on top of her voice calling on passers-by to come to her rescue.

She succeeded in attracting quite a number of them who were eager to know what the problem was. To my greatest dismay, she said I was a Client who patronized her services all night long and I was trying to play a smart one by not paying her.

I thought I was dreaming. No one person in the crowd was willing to listen to me. They concluded I was just a Bully who was trying to take advantage of a helpless girl. All manner of insults were hurled at me. Of course, I was made to part with the little cash I had on me. I felt so bad and humiliated.

Sometime later, it was raining cats and dogs on this certain day. I saw someone who was stranded in the rain but because of my bitter experience, all I did was drive pass with my head looking straight as though I didn't see him.

Now my dear readers, if you were in my shoes, would you want to offer lift again to someone you don't know from Adam or would you go on showing Love even at your own detriment? Please your comments will help a great deal.

Accept Your Person: Knowing who you are is the easiest way to accept 'You'. When you know your strengths and your weaknesses, accepting your person becomes very easy and fun.

Don't Be Hard On Yourself: Stop judging yourself unfairly. Trust me; it's not as bad as you think! Be kind to that person that is inside of you. Say kind and encouraging words to 'him'. Make 'him' feel good. Don't wait for someone to do it for you. You may be disappointed on how selfish people can be.

Don't Make Comparism Of Yourself With Others: Above all, know this-You are unique! There's no one like you on the face of the earth. No identical set of twins are the same. Each person has a unique personality. Accept yours. Don't try to be like others. The truth is, there are certain things about you that no one has. Discover these things; work on them and you will see yourself standing out in the crowd and no doubt, this will make you fall deeply in love with you.

Give Yourself Treats: You don't have to wait for that special person to take you out on a date before you can have a treat. Learn to enjoy yourself. Take yourself out to places of relaxation and fun. Enjoy life to the fullest and don't let anyone stop you.

Let Go Of The Past: Past sins have a way of tormenting the soul and making it miserable. But the truth is that you have the power to put a stop to the torment! You have to forgive yourself of the past! Destroy that prison door where you have kept yourself imprisoned all the while and set yourself FREE! No matter how hard you try, you can't change the past but you do have the power to determine the future. So make the most out of the present by letting go of the past and then facing the future cheerfully.

Believe In Yourself: This is having confidence in you. I am not talking about being proud and conceited but having that confidence that you can face the challenges of life no matter how they choose to come. The truth, if you don't believe you can do it, no one will! Believing in one's self will make one keep his head high and straight. The world knows when a man is confident in himself and that attracts respect.

Dwell On Positive Thoughts About You: Whatever a man dwells upon consistently for a certain period of time becomes manifest physically. Feelings are magnetic. They can bring good things your way and as well bring trouble to you. If all you do is dwell on the thought that 'you are no good', that's exactly how people will see you. To fall deeply in love with yourself, dwell on lovely thoughts about you.

Surround Yourself With People Who Believe In You: No one can put you down without your permission like-wise no one can write you off without your permission. If all you have around you are people who believe you can never amount to anything good in life, the tendency is, you will find it difficult to fall in love with you. Friendship is not by force! You have the right to choose the people that hang around you.

My Advice: select only those who believe in You!

The way you carry yourself is the way others will carry you. If you have a poor and pathetic picture of 'you', don't expect the people around you to do otherwise. There is so much chaos in the world today because people have not learnt to love themselves. You can't give what you don't have. If you have no love in you and for you, you will find it hard loving others.

Be happy! Celebrate yourself at every given opportunity. Create your own world of happiness. Create a magnetic field of happiness around you and by so doing, you will not only make yourself happy but the world as well. This way, you can't help but fall deeply in love with that special person inside of you.

The word 'LOVE' is a broad subject that covers virtually every area of life.

It is a strong feeling of deep affection for somebody/something. It is also a feeling of warm personal attachment for a person, child or friend. It is having a deep sense of respect towards our fellow human beings. It is a responsibility we owe ourselves, our fellow human beings as well as the environment we live in.

Love they say, makes the world go round. Every human, whether old or young is in need of Love. No matter how difficult a person might be, he is always in need of two things: the need to love and the need to be loved back in return.

The world is what it is today because Love is lacking. A man who loves his neighbour will not think of hurting him or stealing from him. A president or someone in authority who has Love in him will think of the good he can do for the masses in order to improve their way of life. He will not think of stealing from the nation's treasury or mis-managing it. The world needs Love in order to survive.

On the other hand, 'REFINE' is defined as 'the process of making a substance pure and also to improve something by making small changes to it. Therefore, 'REFINERY' is 'a factory where something is refined'.

Therefore, 'LOVE REFINERY' is a place where the impurities of LOVE are removed and made pure for safe 'consumption'.

The world has so many wrong ideas of the word 'LOVE'. So many people have different interpretations of the word and each man operates it according to his level of understanding.

According to a popular saying, Love is like a Ghost. Many hear of it but only few have seen it. As true as that may be, it can be corrected.

That is the purpose of this Blog: To reach out to all in Pure Love through well-Seasoned Articles, the Love experiences of others who have actually seen 'the Ghost called Love' and Great Love Sources that will be unraveled as the day passes by.
