Its been so long but "The hills" is still one of my favorite shows from back in the days. One of my favorite moments was when KellyC. was telling Lauren to just loosen up. I don't know if I could live my life without having a plan. But I guess the key is to be able to take short breaks from your planes and just walk aimlessly. Sometimes you need those moments to get back in the right path.

I rarely do repeats or remixes on my blog. It might almost seen like I don't wear the same clothes twice. But to prove you wrong I decided to post this look that I shot at the beginning of september. Oh that day was so damn and windy , but Im glad you cant tell by the looks of it.

Before I leave you I wanna thank you for being so supportive about the fact that I quit my job. Hopefully on the next post I might be able to give a better update on how its going with that.

Hello everybody! I decided to quit my job at the home for unaccompanied youth/children. This my second day home and Im geting extremely restless. I'm hoping to find a job soon, but I'm not worried at all. Its been only two day and I already been for an interview for a new job. I just need to be cool and be patience. I know it was a huge and crazy decision, but sometimes you got to do, what you need to do.

Todays outfit its a actually from weeks ago. The most favorite part is not that I look like a badass, but the fact that I'm embracing my weirdness. Sometimes you need to be weird to be real.

Africa Fashion week Stockholm - day 2 - Love and Diversity

Oh gosh. I feel like I failed you to keep you posted. The second day of the fashion show was super hectic and to make things better I got my period. But dont worry, it didn't slow me down. On the contrary! So the fashion was amazing the theme for the whole show was "Love and Diversity" and it definitely showed through out the whole evening. I mean Sweden is a country with a lot of diversity. But most events in general do not reflect the population. In other words regular places like teaters, fashion events, and most events in general are very white. As a young female of color I usually feel like the elephant in the room. But this event was so colorful and balanced. It was well mixed and I felt like every one was included and represented even though the event was called Africa Fashion Week Stockholm. I think it is nice that Aysha, the mind behind Africa Fashion Week Stockholm, decided to change the name of the event for next year. So, the name on everybody's lips next year is going to be "LeNoir Creative Week Stockholm" instead and I love it. I think that is a super clever move and I cannot wait to be more involved in the process for next year.

One of the moments that Im very exited to tell you about is what happened during the first day at the VIP dinner. So, what had happened was is that I was approached by the camera group and the minds behind VivaAfrique Show, they asked me if I could worked the red carpet the next day. That is, in other words to interview some key people at the red carpet that attended the fashion show. At first I t was very nervous and little bit scared to be honest. But it went MORE then well. And I had so much fun interacting with the guess. I might just be a natural interviewer as the they say.. But girls and boys that is it for this time. I thought that it I would be ok not to share everything with you now. So today Im just showing you some highlights. I think it would be cool to lift my favorite designers from the show in a separate post. So, please stay tuned!

Oh I had so much fun at the VIP dinner. I met a lot of new people and Im so looking forward to start new collaborations and new friendships. I was so happy to have my business cards in hand. I felt super professional. Hehe. I think this was such a great event and I cannot wait for day 2. One of the designers that Im mostly looking forward is Stephen Arthur but Im also exited to get to know more designers.

Lately, I have experienced a series of unfortunate events. I don't know, but I've started to think that I might be cursed. I have no idea what the hell the universe is trying to tell me. But I learned that many of the things that had had happened I could have easily avoided if I just listened to my gut in the first place. Anyways I will try to work with I got. And I thank God that I have so much else going with work and all. So I really don't have time to be sad or to think too much... The funny thing is that I keep saying to myself that things could not be worse. But unfortunately things do go from bad to worse.

Hello my darlings! I've been under the weather so this is one of the reasons why I have been away the last couple of days. I couldn't sleep so I though I would post this look that I shot the other day. I have serious crush on my new knee high boots. I think this might be the first pair that actually fits. Since Im a shorty, this type of boots don't always look as good. But I guess all about the style and how you style them. The skirt I got way back when the weather was still hot, but I think its going to a perfect fall item. Oh and what about the hat, hmm do you guys like it? Im totally in love with and I might be wearing all day every day! I mean how could you not?

An interview with Aysha Jones - The founder of Africa Fashion Week Stockholm

So, last month I told you the news about me being chosen to be Africa Fashion Week Stockholm blog ambassador. Im counting the days and I cannot wait for next month. Im super exited and to follow up with my blog ambassador duties I thought I would share with you an interview that I did with Aysha Jones, Creative director and owner of LeNoir Public Relations and LeNoir fashion. Founder of Africa Fashion Week Stockholm.

Tell me a little about yourself (education, profession etc).

I'm a mother of three born in Africa and raised in Sweden.

I work mainly as a PR manager and own the firm LeNoir PR. No education other than college, but I love school and plan on studying some time soon. I'm self thought in all my fields of work and think a strong mindset is worth more than anything if one wants to succeed in something.

How did you get into the fashion industry? What were you doing before?

I’ve always been "stylish" but I got into the fashion industry by trying my luck as a model. Then stylist and from there I've done most things one can do in fashion apart from taking pictures as I'm lowsy with gadgets and technology. The only gadget I can operate as a pro is my iPhone!

Can you tell me a little bit about your business empire/ the bussiness you are part of?

Lol, love that you call it an empire as I barely see it as a full business yet!

Well as I said I'm the owner of LeNoir PR and also LeNoirFashion. A part from that I'm the founder of a blog network called Fashion 9one1 that we're making into a online magazine by the end of the year. Before I also used to coach models under the name of RareModels International, but as all models coached by me are now professional models working all over the world I kinda felt I've done my part in that area and now only do it for fun. And I'm also the founder and organizer of Africa fashion week Stockholm and The Gambia fashion week. The later mentioned one won't be active again for a while as I've decided to invest in African creativity in other ways.

What would you said is the key to success? Do you have any business advice for people who are trying to make it in the fashion industry or any other business in general?

Simple. Go with your gut feeling and always believe in yourself!

Have a clear vision and a clean heart, put your trust in Gods timing and you are good.

What or who motivates you or inspires you to continue doing what you do?

My kids definitely motivate me the most but my family at large specially my husband that has to put up with my madness.

Also to achieve things I first thought I wouldn't be able to do.

Why did you decide to start Africa Fashion Week Stockholm?

I felt Sweden was lacking a platform for black/African creativity to be uplifted and celebrated. In a society were people are so diverse and multicultural I don't understand why no one did this before me and I'm a strong believer of not pointing out flaws if I don't have suggestions on how to adjust them.

I also wanted to do something that hopefully would leave an impact in the world and create a legacy that the next and future generations can be proud of and enjoy.

How would you describe the fashion industry in Sweden/Skandinavia?

Lacking African flavor!

What is your favorite thing about Africa Fashion Week Stockholm?

The mix of creativity from music to fashion, beauty and such. But mostly that everyone is coming together to do something good for the sake of the black/African community sake.

Since the launch of Africa Fashion Week Stockholm, what has been your proudest moment to date? Not really sure. I'm not easily pleased with my own work but I'm proud of all the participants in AFWS. Both last year and this year.

What can we expect to see from this year Africa Fashion Week Stockholm and what are you most looking forward to about AFWS 2015?

Expect a good event with loads of entertainment in various ways, networking opportunities and happy people on their best behaviors!Definitely the main event fashion shows and gala night as I just decided to celebrate my 30th birthday on that day.But I also wanna try/learn things at the workshops/seminars and support African creativity buy shopping in the pop-up store.

Can you gives us any clues on what are going to wear during AFWS?

I'm honored to have two amazing designers dress me for AFWS 2015. Last years showcasing designer Elise Kabwe of KABELIS and a new designer, ISA by Fatima, that is debuting on this years AFWS. For the gala night I'm not yet sure if I'll stay in one of the designers outfits or if I'll sneak into a freakum dress that I can mess up without a guilty conscience lol.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future of Africa Fashion Week Stockholm?

I'd hope for it to be integrated in the main Stockholm fashion week and not its on thing as its now. I don't believe that structure will do for the Swedish market in the long run. I'm also hoping on collaboration with bigger international fashion brands and platforms such as Stockholm fashion district, the Formex fair and such. Also hope on more frequent events that leads up to the big yearly

one.

The Spanish phrase "Cada persona es un mundo" that is Spanish for "Every person is a world unto herself" is a phrase that is forever going to be imprinted in the deepest parts of my brain, heart and soul. I have my mother to thank for that. She used to consoled me with these words whenever I would asked of her to explain something unexplainable. Remembering these words has done me good. At the same time I fear that I might give up easily when I feel disappointed.

I know that we all see things differently, our points of view and our actions are in many cases unexplainable and I know I shouldn't spend my life trying to figure out things. I come to think that its not our inability or ability to communicate with one another that is the biggest problems. Our inability to put our desires, fears, believes, goals and feelings in order is our biggest problem. I wonder if the task of getting to know a person is automatically set up to fail? Can you really know and understand someone only by spending enough time with them?

Anyways... I was really feeling my self with this look. My hair was looking sleek. And the breeziness of the outfit made me feel extremely sexy. I love wearing outfits like this one. Even though I love showing my curves with a tight outfit. I prefer a look like this a hundred times over. Now that I think about it I wish that I could tell you that I was going on a date that day. Because its been a while.

Tredjelångatan or Third-street, (the area where I took these pictures) is probably one of my favorites streets in Gothenburg. Until recently it became an pedestrian only area and at the moment its mostly known for its young and hip variety of fine gourmet food restaurants, fancy bars and fancy gourmet food trucks, yes gourmet food trucks. I actually celebrated my birthday dinner at one the restaurants in the area. I have also heard that the oldest property was built in 1892 and the newest was built in 1977. During the years it has been renovated, but I feel that it has kept its original feeling. I know some people would disagree, but I don't think the new changes wash away its beauty and history. In fact for me it usually feels like being in the past and in present at the same time.

These photos as you can see were taken in front of this super fancy restaurant call Made in china. You can imagine what kind of food they serve here, right. I've being dying to eat here even though the reviews aren't that great. I wish I could tell you more about the food, but those times when I wanted to eat there it has been either overbooked or the company that I would be with wouldn't be up for it.

I chose to take my outfit pictures here because of the lighting, but I also felt like the scenery went well with my outfit that day... Or what do you think?

Africa Fashion Week Stockholm: Blog ambassador

You heard it here first!I' m going to be a blog ambassador for Africa Fashion Week Stockholm this year. This means that Im going to be so lucky to attend all the seminars, parties and fashion shows. I have never been on a fashion event of this magnitude. So this a huge, huge deal for me! The event is in a month so it feels totally suitable to talk about it now.

For those of you who didn't know, Africa Fashion Week Stockholm (AFWS) is a sister event to Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL). AFWL, has hosted five catwalk events since its inception in 2011 and is today Europe's largest catwalk events of African- and African-ispired design. With that said, I think its just about time for Scandinavia to catch up. I don't think you need the whole background story, but AFWS was launched last year for the first time. So this year we'll be celebrating the second annual between the 1st- 3rd of October in Stockholm .The original idea behind the show was to highlight a fashion that because of its origin often remains in the shadows in this part of the world. To complete my honorable duties as a blog ambassador I though that I would from now on going to be doing small post like this where Im going to be sharing updates on the event, cool interviews and fashion inspiration for you all. I'm also going to be sharing what Im going to wear to the show and much, much more.

I don't want to think that summer is over, but I think that is an unavoidable fact that I need come to terms with. It has been raining the whole week and think that could be a clear sign of fall. I 've been sick so I 've been off work. I know I've have mention this before. But one of my favorite things to do on my free time is to check out beautiful photography. One of my favorite categories that I always fall back in to is STREET STYLE: I love dreaming about snapping photos on different fashion weeks. Getting my picture taken by other photographers. Sitting on the front row of various fashion show. And just leaving and breathing fashion. Since Im contemplating on getting myself a rain coat. My body complexes have reached a limit. I think that these pictures are gorgeous and even though I have gained a lot of weight and I feel a little bit insecure... Looking at them I come to the realization of how important it is to appreciated your body and all the changes you go through. I have also learn how being around toxic people can play a number in your well being. When I was about 10 kg lighter my confidence was low and I was super hard on myself and my body image. Now that I see the different between the pictures now and back them... I can honestly say that: Wow I've really learned my lesson. I'm determinate to get healthy again. But what I need to work more on is not being so hard on myself.

Im not hundred percent sure about what happened with todays look pictures. I always go trough my pictures when I shoot an outfit and I remembered being pretty happy with the results. But when I transferred the photos to my computer and saw them magnified I was in a little bit of shock. The quality was pretty bad and I feel as if the print got lost... And Im afraid that you might not be able to appreciated. This happens to me every now and them and most of the times I choose not to post them. But this time I decided to post them anyways.

Im going to head out soon. But before I start to get myself ready I wanted to post this look. This is actually one of the looks that I was rocking at Roskilde festival last month . The shorts I actually got them on my way to Denmark. I found like 4 pair of shorts on the sale section of HM in Malmö and I couldn't leave them behind. If you haven't figure out, the reason why I had to do some last minute shopping before Roskilde was simple cuz I didn't pack the right clothes. I still think I was well prepare after all it was only my first time going away for that long for a festival. Now I know that wearing shorts at a festival is a must!

What is it that makes a person a grown up? We hear that expression every now and then. But what do we really mean, when say such a thing? . Is it about taking risks and being fearless or it is maybe about following your heart and being your own boss. Or is it about giving up on your dreams and following the stereotypical idea of what life is often portrait it. Then I think how can fear or being fearless have anything to do with being an grown up?
If you haven't figure it out by now I'm having a small crisis about my career path, the fact that Im not done with my master thesis. What do I really with this this I can MY LIFE. I know what kind of life I want to live. Im looking and fighting for a certain type of quality, but I don't know how do I get there, do I need to get there. And what is there? I used to have these great ideas about leaving this famous life abroad and traveling all the time. I changed my mind about that a while ago and so now its difficult to grasp the whole picture that Im trying to draw. I know I wanna continue caring for my wellbeing. Both physically and mentally. And I know that I want to continue blogging and that I want be in working environment where I feel that Im using the knowledge that I have gather during my schooling. Its so simple, yet why do I feel like I keep hindering myself from just getting my sh''t together?

I am going to work in a couple of hours, so I am glad I woke up early to post this post. Im trying to be a little bit more consistent with my blogging and so far is going well. I took these pictures yesterday and Im glad to be and different location. I think it goes so well with this look and the colour palette of this outfit. I don't know if you have noticed, but I like wearing looks that show my figure I know my curves help a lot. But I tend to stay way for looks like these. Because I kinda feel shapeless. To my surprise even though the lines in this look are very straight cut. I still mange to owned it...

For some reason while I was going home from this shoot and I was wearing my low sandals I put my hair in a low ponytail. And as I watch my reflection in one window

I couldn't help myself to think about the movie "And While We Were Here" with Kate Bosworth. Here character always was wearing easy breezy casual and preppy blouses in blues and greys and all her skirt were a line skirts and she wore a lots of khaki preppy shorts ... I love her fashion in the movie. Because it was everything that I'm not..

I know this movie is about being shut down or caged in the of love. Its also about liberation. But I also feel that is about friendships and the people that come and go in your life. Sometimes you wonder why you bumped into a certain person in your life and you wonder if the universe is trying to tell you something. Or teach you a lessons... I have learn a lot of lessons... But I say all this to say that I had a very unpleasant situation with a friend yesterday and my reaction was unexplainable, just like the ending of the movie " And while we were here"... And now I wonder if what the male character Jamie from the movie said its true:

“Did you ever hear that story about the red string? […] It’s this Asian proverb. Hi there! I have no idea what happen to the denim jacket I used to have. I think it got stolen or maybe I just lost it somewhere during my last move. But I guess it wasn't that important to me since I have completely forgotten about it. Last weekend while I was treating myself I spotted this denim jacket and it reminded so much of the one that I used to have... I instantly thought about all the looks that I could were it with and that was a reason enough to get it without second guess it.

If you haven't noticed army green is making a come back this fall. Im looking forward to putting looks together with this shade of green together with ruby reds, denim and dark blues. For this outfit I just went for the very simple white and black base and with the army green I just added a little of colour. This look if you haven't guessed it already is perfect for errands and shopping. Don't you agree?
