Wise guys slinging crack to your kids at Mickey D's

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--News reports up here make it sound as if two wise guys were getting rid of a kilo of coke one happy meal at a time when cops arrested them parked at a McDonald's restaurant.

Cops seized 400 grams of crack cocaine from these "organized crime" persons, it's claimed, they were "pushing" we are to suppose, upon innocent children.

Of course, nothing in the reports said they were dealing crack to kids, but c'mon, what else must the public assume when the story is thusly written. Organized crime dudes are loitering at the local McDonald's, dealing crack cocaine.

A subsequent search of an apartment turned up a total of 1 kilo of coke. The unnamed suspects (these organized criminals) scored the dope from bikers in Montreal, who either set them up or gave them up. Cops were alerted by an informant.

Kelly Ripa's crack shampoo not so brilliant

NEW YORK CITY--In a feature on Kelly Ripa in the New York Post, it's mentioned how game the talk show babe and ex-cheerleader, Jersey-girl is at poking fun at herself. An example: they mention a Saturday Night Live faux-commercial skit from a 2003 episode they describe as "brilliant" where Kelly advertised a hair product that contained crack cocaine crediting it with her perky attitude...or how she stays "up."

We missed that episode. But its just further proof to the faux-comprehension of crack cocaine in this country which continues to make the kids name their silly wacky kittys "crackhead."

Now what would be a "brilliant" thing for Kelly to have done is to shampoo her hair with some crack, crawl around on the floor with a flashlight, peek out the window with buggy eyes for imaginery cops, or scheme and scam to steal a neighbor's lawnmower--but not be too damn perky about it. Or she could have blown her dealer and a few of his homies for her next shampoo. Hilarious!

Nah. None of that would have been funny--either. This skit used to be available at YouTube but I couldn't find it. Comments by others assure me that it certainly wasn't "brilliant" and probably only funny to the clueless masses who haven't had the pleasure of having their stuff stolen or their mothers, sisters and daughters prostituting themselves for a few crumbs.

Heavy handed prosecution leads to crack dealer's acquittal on appeal

GREENVILLE, TEXAS--An appellate court has overturned the conviction and harsh sentence of a crack-cocaine dealer on parole who wasn't even present when a search warrant was served on the crack house he ran, and where cops discovered less than 4 grams of crack cocaine.

Allen Lane Whittaker may receive a new trial in a case where he was sentenced to 85 years which he would not even begin to serve until he completes a parole violation sentence which would end 22 years from now.

The panel stated that evidence used to convict Whittaker was insufficient and the sentence was improperly enhanced.

The local prosecuter issued a statement saying they "agreed" with the original jury trial's verdict, despite the fact that Whittaker was not present during the drug raid and a tiny amount of drugs seized in the slats of a privacy fence were accessible to the public.

The small amount of dope found is typically punishable by a maximm sentence of 2 to 10 years in prison.

THE CRACK HOUND BARKS: Just another example of how the bullshit "war on drugs" has destroyed any credibility the cops, courts and prosecutors have. This man may well have been guilty, but he wasn't busted fair-and-square, which may not matter to a lot of people until they come and "bust" you for something not even illegal yet--and the burden of proof can be made-up and the rules of evidence can be twisted any damn way they want to get their conviction.

Undercover buy turns tragic as perps cause crash

PINELLAS PARK, FLORIDA--Undercover cops who tried to block in a Monte Carlo occupied by two men who had just sold them crack are now wishing they had done a better job.

The Monte Carlo managed to speed away, but moments later it crashed into a Ford Taurus causing the death of a South Carolina woman. A man and two children in the car were also injured.

The two men in the Monte Carlo, Rashane Deangelo Barber and Devonta Thornton Merriex, were arrested at the scene of the crash. Charges are pending.

YELLOWKNIFE , NORTHWEST TERRITORIES--A woman here was granted a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to stealing money from an Elks Club bingo she volunteered at. The unnamed 43-year-old blamed the theft on her addiction to crack cocaine. The club had installed surveillance cameras when it was noticed bingo revenues were down. From Northern News Service
ATHENS, ALABAMA--A crack whore here attacked a man with a broken crack pipe and is now sitting in jail for second-degree assault. Theresa Ann Twitty, 41, admitted cutting Harold Glen Wiley, 52, while the two were arguing about sex. Wiley was treated at the local emergency room. Late for court, Mom guilty of contempt, then they search her car...

PADUCAH, KENTUCKY--A woman two hours late for court faced the wrath of the judge who charged and convicted her of contempt of court and sentenced to serve four hours in jail.

Cops learned she had left children unattended in the car, so they brought them inside the court house and called social services.

They also found in the car 10 grams of crack cocaine, a "drug ledger" and $6,600 in cash. She was brought back before the judge, charged with endangerment and trafficking charges, then sent back to the slammer.

Russell Jenkins was pulled over for a warrant for possession of Tylenol, of all things, when they discovered coke in his truck. NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK--That's right officer, when a man asks for an attorney, you have to stop questioning him.

Anthony R. Porter, who was accused and convicted of stabbing his female crack dealer 56 times, will have to be retried without the "confession" cops obtained from him because he asked for a lawyer before the confessional part of his interview, so says a New York Court of Appeals.

Police said the murder was �??a drug-related robbery attempt.�?? Cash and over 22 grams of crack cocaine were found on Sheree Mallory�??s body at the bottom of her stairs on Oct. 25, 2003.

Porter told police he had visited the victim the day she was killed to score crack and then left to smoke it with another woman. He claimed he returned later that day and the victim attacked him with a knife and cut his hand and stabbed him in the upper thigh during a struggle. He said he stabbed her in self-defense, but didn't recall sticking her 56 times.

Porter, 33, was sentenced in April 2005 to 25 years to life in prison after a jury convicted him of second-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Crack house residents beaten by cops escape charges

TORONTO, ONTARIO--A provincial superior court judge has thrown out firearms charges against two men who were inside a crack house when cops raided back in June, saying that the cops testimony was unreliable and likely false.

A man at the apartment, Steven Ruiz, has pleaded guilty to dope charges.

Ruiz, along with Shayne Fisher, 24, and Valter Almeida, 23, were physically abused by cops who claimed that they resisted arrest. Four of five people in the apartment were sent to the hospital.

Defense lawyers said it was clear that officers made up the evidence of resisting arrest to justify the excessive force used.

COOLBAUGH TWP., PENNSYLVANIA--A man police had to briefly chase is in custody for a parole violation. He had a cell phone in his possession that wouldn't stop ringing. Finally, cops answered it.

The man on the line, Richard James Deifer, 45, was trying to arrange to meet for a crack cocaine deal. Cops decided to oblige him

Police posing as the man in custody arranged to meet Deifer where an undercover officer arrested him.

They said he had paraphernalia and a large off-white chunk of crack cocaine

Deifer is held under $50,000 bail and was charged with possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia.

CENTRAL FALLS, RHODE ISLAND--A woman here loaned her car to a drug dealer in exchange for bogus crack cocaine.

When she realized she had been fleeced, Victoria Williamson dialed 9-1-1 telling cops she had been carjacked at knife point, hoping to jam up her dealer but good.

She was in court Wednesday morning for filing a false police report.

She's been sentenced to probation, community service, and must pay for police overtime from the investigation.

Man buys car and finds crack

ERIE. PENNSYLVANIA--State police said an Erie man who bought a car at an auction here got more than the standard features with his Toyota Camry.

The new owner found a bag containing $400 worth of crack cocaine under the driver's side carpet, a discovery that a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper said is the first case of its kind he's seen in his 17 years on the force.

"It's very unusual to see this much worth of drugs left behind," he said.

The unidentified man notified police of his discovery after he found the bag June 21 when he pulled up the carpet.

Tatum pleads guilty, gets treatment

NEW YORK CITY--Tatum O'Neal pleaded guilty for disorderly conduct in connection with her crack cocaine arrest in June.

The judge ordered O'Neal to spend two half-day sessions in a drug treatment program and pay a $95 fee. Upon completion of the program the charges will be dismissed.

In other news, Arrests for drug law violations in 2008 are expected to exceed the 1,889,810 arrests of 2006. Law enforcement made more arrests for drug law violations in 2006 (13.1 percent of the total number of arrests) than for any other offense. Someone is arrested for violating a drug law every 17 seconds.

Crisis Intervention Director needs to intervene himself after being stung for crack

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY--A crisis intervention and mental health director for a local hospital here may be in need of his own services after being arrested for crack cocaine possession.

Jon Nelson, 58, was arrested in the 900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in a popular area for drug transactions during a traffic stop where cops spotted a crack pipe near his console. A search of the vehicle turned up the crack in a side pocket of the driver's door.

The media relations director for the man's employer Capital Health Systems told the Trentonian that the situation is a "personnel" and a "personal" matter for Mr. Nelson, and that he is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the allegations.

GREER, SOUTH CAROLINA--A yearlong investigation culminated Friday with a raid on a location near here, and the arrest of six people here and in Due West on various drug trafficking charges. VANCEBURG, KENTUCKY--An anonymous tip had cops staking out a highway for 24 hours waiting for a vehicle returning from Florida with a cache of narcotics. Deputies stopped the vehicle and found Oxycontin, Diazepam, Valium, Hydrocodone, Xanax, crack cocaine, and crack pipes. Carolyn Bailey, 44, faces charges. Crackhead carjacker returns to scene of crime, surrenders to cops

MIAMI, FLORIDA--An older woman was punched in the face, slammed to the ground and had her car stolen early this morning by a carjacker.

While being treated by paramedics, the perpetrator drove up in the stolen vehicle, stepped out with his hands up saying, "I did it. I did it."

Police on the scene with the paramedics immediately handcuffed the man.

Armando Pena, 44, when asked why he did it replied "drugs" admitting to having smoked crack cocaine minutes before the attack, and that he felt bad about what he did.

Gunshot victim has both lead and rock extracted

BROCKTON, MASSACHUSETTS--A man here who underwent surgery for a gunshot wound gave up both lead and rock.

Cops say that James Damon, 22, who was shot in the stomach 4:30 a.m. Sunday, underwent emergency surgery and the doctors found an undisclosed amount of crack cocaine in his rectum.

Damon is not cooperating with police in the investigation and faces charges of possession with intent to distribute.
