Big Fan of Adsense Looking into new Yahoo Ads

Yep, I'm a big fan of adsense ads. I squizz them eveywhere I can except on webpages related to making money online.

Give time to your stats to build up:
Then, I come back a week later to look at how they have performed. To do this, I look at my stats with the help of an Google Analytics Expert.

Keep your CTR high:
To keep the overall account CTR high (see How many ads per page is best to keep a high CTR) I then have to take off the least performing ads.

Try harder to make money:
But before I take off the ads, I try to adjust the colors or the design of the page which contains it.
I bother to do so only if that page sees sufficient traffic to make it worth.

Why not try Yahoo ads?
Google ads are doing incredibly well. But in some cas the page just won't convert into advertising revenue. For those pages, I consider using Yahoo's advertising services.

I am especially interested in the display ad units. They're the ads that display as a background of the web page.

True, I am restless, I always need to be on something exciting. And yes, I'm still (DRE May 2011) making money online with Google Adsense (somewhere over 1300usd a month depending on traffic).

Choosing the right topic for your blog:
With the perspective of making money, the first topic that comes to mind for a blog is writing about travelling, because advertisers use internet to sell bus tickets, flight deals and hotel bookings.

Writing about your holidays can be a great source of income!

Serena is targeting the Christian market. Therefore I would recommend you write about travelling to places which are attractive for your audience: Roma? Nazareth? Or maybe simply what bus stop to use to get to your nearest church.

Making money online through affiliate programs or Adsense is a great way to make money because it is a form of passive income.
Basically once you have set it all up, you only have to check your account to see the money rolling in.

If you want additional income you can also blog about your online business to create additional streams of incoming traffic which translates in additional revenue.

Google Ads perform better since Aug 2010!

Those of you who are using Google Adsense in the following formats: 728x90, 336x280 or 300x250 are probably having a great month of August.

I have personally seen an increase by as much as 50% in revenue from webpages using 336x280 ads.

This is due to 336x280 ads showing the destination url next to the ads title

Search engines really like websites which come in several languages. International websites come across as more professional.
The reach of such websites is extended by the number of languages offered. That's why websites in two or more languages usually benefit of better rankings than websites in only one language.

You might not be interested in reaching France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and other countries around the world where a large population searches the net in French, however there is a quick calculation to be made in terms of cost of traffic.

If you are not running any Adsense campaign, then the trick is still worth doing at least for the free additional traffic it generates which can be turned into sales and clics on Adsense units.
Even if your pages are not monetized, which would be a shame, there's a reason why you've got pages online so more traffic in English because you have a French version of your website should still make sense.

Of course, I am using French as a second language but any other language would do: Spanish and Chinese are largely spoken and the effect in terms of SEO should be similar to the above mentioned.
