Congratulations to the Under 10 Reds team who won their Winter Trophy Event on the lead up to Christmas. They were recently presented with their trophies. Well done.

Under 10 Reds team bonding

Recently the Under 10 Red team attended a team bonding day at PGL outdoor pursuits, courtesy of the team sponsor Mr Ian Barratt.

The boys did 2 activities. Firstly crate stacking where they had to see how high they could get the crates whilst standing on them. They had to work together. 2 or 3 kids were standing on crates and building the stack up underneath them. The others were either passing up crates or supporting the stackers by holding them on harnesses and climbing ropes.

The second activity was a fun game called aero ball, which was basically basketball on trampolines.

SIGN ON FOR NEXT SEASON!

Our signing on event for the 2014/15 season will be the afternoon of 19th July 2014 from 4-7pm at Lambourn Sports Club. If you are renewing your membership or joining for the first time please come along!

We are looking for new players to join us next season in age groups under 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. We are also running coaching sessions for under 6. We welcome children of all levels of ability and experience. All our coaches are FA qualified and CRB compliant.

The annual fee for families is just £80 per year for the first child and £30 for each additional child. This includes membership for both parents to Lambourn Sports Club and licensed bar.

Match strip is provided, so all you need are boots, shin pads and plenty of enthusiasm!

New players please come prepared! An original birth certificate must be presented and league registration forms require the signature of both parents (single parents excepted). Forms can be emailed in advance or completed on the day.

Sovereign Turn Spotlight on Lambourn Juniors

Portable floodlighting is on the way thanks to a generous grant of £1500 from Sovereign Housing Association. This will provide greater opportunity for evening training and reduce wear and tear on the pitches. Well done to Simon our Welfare Officer for securing this funding and thanks go to our Players representative Alex for technical direction!

Race night on the 23rd November was a great success again this year. A great time was had by all. A huge thank you to all who contributed. Fantastic generosity was shown on the night with a massive £600 raised for junior football funds. This will help to secure the purchase of portable floodlighting for training.

We are desperately trying to raise funds for portable lighting to allow us to continue training during the winter months without over using the top area behind the goal. We need to raise approximately £2000 to fund 6 lights that can be used anywhere on the field. If every parent attends and brings at least one other friend / family member we should have a fair chance of raising a good percentage of this amount. Each team will be given a race sheet to sell a horse and jockey(£2 each with a prize to the winner and jockey) for each of the 8 horses. Tickets will be on sale very soon.

Parents Evening

We will be running a Parents evening on Friday the 6th September from 6:30pm where we would like ALL parents to attend for a briefing from Chairman and Welfare officer before the season opener on the 8th. The club committee structure and FA Respect guidelines.

New Membership Cards

Just to let every one know who has paid there fees and filled a membership form on signing on night that there will be a members night on Friday the 30th August from 6:30pm onwards where the new membership cards will be issued. On the night drinks will be half price on presentation of the new card and from the 1st of September a new loyalty scheme will be introduced with a members price list with reductions on everything against the non members prices. If you are down for training or just fancy popping down for a drink come and collect your cards.

This years signing on night will be held on the 5th July and will be a different format to previous years. The evening will be split into 2 with the younger teams U7, U8 and U9's from 6 until 7 and then the older age groups from 7:15 until 8:30 (U10, U11 ,U12 and U13).
There will be a brief presentation from the Chairman about FA Respect with a video and also club rules then each of the managers will give a brief pitch about training nights and plans for the season to the parents in sub groups.
The AGM is now the 21st of June at 7pm we are always looking for new volunteers with fresh ideas so please try and make this meeting if you can where a number of committee places are empty. The new committee will comprise of the following;

Six a Side Tournament

A massive thanks to all who helped at the tournament yesterday which was a great success with a special thanks to Jane Price who took on the mantle of chef organiser. We learnt a lot on Sunday about where we can improve for next year which was the main reason for running a scaled down tournament as our inaugural event.
