Art of Chun Lo

I don't always update...

2014-06-30T19:00:00.000-04:00

...but when I do I hope I've improved...

Hey look I'm not dead guys!

Oh geez it's definitely been a while...

Been studying and working throughout those years. Trying to get better and faster! It's definitely been a struggle though I feel my artwork is going towards a good direction.

Still have some work that I can't show yet but I'll post them as soon as I'm able to!

Since CGHUB got taken down I've been bouncing from one social media site to another, if you guys are on any of those sites you're more than welcomed to follow me there.
Artstation | Blog | Drawcrowd | Facebook | Portfolio | Tumblr | Twitter | INPRNT

I'm also open for commissions, if someone's interested email me at: chunloart@gmail.com

And here are some sketches I'm thinking of finishing, would love to hear everyone's thoughts or critiques on these.

I've also been playing around with other styles and sketchin' some guilty pleasures.

And here are some studies of course!

I wanna be the very best...

...like no one ever was...

Hiya everyone!

It's been a long time since I last posted, 4 months to be exact o.o

Well I've been working on my portfolio as well as working on freelance to pay my bills all this time. A lot of hectic things have been happening lately along with a string of bad luck, though I'm sure something good would come out of all this gotta stay positive and hard working. :)

I've been studying like crazy and hopefully you guys can see it in my new work. I'm also going to be applying for more jobs right after I write this blog post in fact...wish me good luck haha. Also if any of you have a suggestion of where I should apply I'd be more than happy to hear them.

I'm also open for commissions, if someone's interested email me at: chunloart@gmail.com

Here are some new works, revamps and studies. Enjoy!

Mmmm the Porcelain Empire ;)

Then onto the studies...

This would have made more sense if I painted the table...

Flickr flagged me for this whut...

Need your opinions on this last one which do you guys prefer: A or B?

Also a quote that I've absolutely fallen in love with,

It takes fierce will to get ahead in this world.

The ability to take action. Take hold of your own life.

Turn it into what you want it to be. Create and chase after opportunities.

Good things may come to those who wait, but phenomenal things are waiting for those who want them enough to go after them.

Fierce willpower and strength.

Finally Updated + Print Giveaway

2011-04-04T16:26:00.005-04:00

I know I know I totally suck at updating this Blog. But you can't deny that whenever I do update there's always more than one image up...maybe except the last one....

Well here I'm going to be showing some personal stuff I've been doing recently in between freelance.

Also I'm thinking about doing a print giveaway...anyone interested? Comment below on which print of one of my pieces you'd like to see given away and I'll tally up the most requested and offer that as a print. I'll have more details about the print giveaway on my next post then.

In addition I'm thinking about doing a series of paintings on notable dragons in mythology, due to the fact that I just love illustrating them nasties :)...either that or maybe Norse Mythology.

As always I'm always looking for more work, so if you dig my stuff hit me up at my email: enviousblackwings@gmail.com

It obviously only wants a hug...

Anya ©EndlessMark III

Gimme a kiss and make this headache feel better...

Also if no one minds please spread the word about the print giveaway via Tweeter, Facebook, DeviantArt...or whatever your into. Just to see if anyone would be interested ;0

Till next time...

Happy New Year....kinda???

2011-02-28T12:34:00.005-05:00

Hey everyone!

Happy new year...that happened like 2 months ago. Sorry about the lack of updates, but I promise to try and update on a weekly basis(yea I know I've said that before but I'll try my best XP)

Also I have something to ask of everyone following this blog along with those that have just stumbled on, if it's not too much trouble, I would like your honest opinions on whether or not to include some new pieces, that are going to be shown today along with those in the near future, in my portfolio. I really want to get a strong portfolio going on and I figure some honest (brutal) feedback would be best as I want to get some bigger and better jobs out there as well as improve the shit out of my self.Lmao

So without further ado I present you with this week's new pieces, hope you guys enjoy and don't forget to leave some feedback comments ;O

Also I was thinking of revisiting some old pieces and applying what I've learned recently to them, what pieces do you guys think should need a major revision? I'm thinking about revising my dungeon delve piece hmmmm...??

Here we have my very first environment(hope it doesn't suck?) I did most of it on my livestream HERE

Here's a different version tell me which one you guys prefer, as I think the first one's way too dark on anyone's else's monitor besides mine 0.0 Really need to calibrate this thing...

Also here's the process for those curious:

Here's a revision of a commission that I have posted before on this blog (I think it was the last post?)
I'm trying to get better with faces and basic human anatomy...am I doing it right?

...and to conclude this has been stuck in my head for so long haha

Something Something Something...

2010-12-27T12:34:00.000-05:00

"If you believe that God makes miracles, you have to wonder if Satan has a few up his sleeve..."

-Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan

Ahhh, been watching Dexter recently and loving it :)

Been pretty busy lately with freelancing and commissions, but I should probably update before the year ends. This year has gone by pretty fast lately, improved a lot but I still got a long ways to go before I reach the level I want.

Which brings me to my next topic: a bucket list.
nooo, not like a death list like in that semi depressing movie but more of an art achievement list for myself for 2011 that I MUST achieve at all cost lol. So far the list is pretty small but I'll add on to it later.

1. Work for Wizards of The Coast(Particularly for Magic The Gathering!)
2. Get into EXPOSÉ and/or EXOTIQUE
3. Help out the art community in some way
4. Catch a Pokemon in my backyard
5. Shot sexy rockets from my eyeballs...er...am I digressing?

Here are some pieces I've been working on:

A revamp of Ravaging Forest wasn't satisfied with the prior incarnation.

Commission for Endless Mark III

My Dungeon Delve Entry ( I'd probably revise it, not too happy with it)

The Power to Karate Kick awkwardly...and some new stuff.

2010-12-06T13:34:00.002-05:00

Wow it's been forever since I updated last! Sorry!

Things have been hectic lately with everything collapsing basically, painting seems to be the one thing I find myself going back to out of entertainment and need.

But enough of depressing my viewers time to show some new work, hopefully there's some kind of improvement as I've been trying real hard to brush up on my anatomy...there's a pun there somewhere. I've also been trying to build stronger compositions and getting more focus to my pieces, if anyone have any crits for my work they are more then welcomed. :) I want to improve as much and as fast as possible after all, which reminds me I might update this post with an art bucket list of all the things I want to achieve in 2011.

I also have got a Facebook Fan Page so if you guys like my work Click!

Also I'm looking for more freelance work so if your interested in my work be sure to contact me at enviousblackwings@gmail.com

Study gone array.

Process

For CGHUB's Drawing Jam

Process

For Endless Mark III

WIP for ArtOrder's Dungeon Delve Challenge

Something on my mind don't know what it could be yet but stay tuned :)

Line Practice...wow I suck at lines...going to continue till I hit a hundred 0.0

Practice on focus :0

I do love drawing girls XD

Practice Practice Practice!

I think I should do some environments might be fun...

Study, Study, Study!! Looking for some new work.

2010-10-11T10:39:00.017-04:00
