Michael Luessen and Bill Norris from Cardno ATC provided an inventory of sites and a status report on environmental assessment. Representatives from the Butler County Port Authority, OKI, Middletown-Trenton-Monroe Chamber, Hamilton County Water and Soil Conservation, Health Department and others participated in the meeting.

Mike Campbell gives an overview on 2013 and the projects that were reviewed. His presentation Scorecard 2013 indicated a new project was reviewed at least once a month in 2013 much more activity than in 2012 and 2011.

Greater Hamilton Chamber Groundhog Economic Breakfast

John Augustine, from Fifth Third Bank provided a look at the 2014 economy. The economy overall should improve but the weather this year has slowed it down in the first quarter. A large crowd was on hand at the Marriott in Hamilton.

Middletown Council used Skype to talk with a developer for the Manchester Inn, Weatherwax Golf Course and the Airport were also on the agenda for discussion.

Commissioner T.C. Rogers presents Dick Slagle with a Butler County Proclamation. Dick received awards from the State, City and The Chamber as well. Joe Magdich Butler County Port Authority Chairman attended the event as well as Executive Director Mike Campbell.

West Chester Township Trustees Meeting

The West Chester Township Trustees had their first meeting for 2014, Tuesday evening, and elected George Lang as President. Mark Welch was welcomed and elected Vice President. Lee Wong has served several terms and was reelected in November. Bruce Jones is the Fiscal Officer. On Monday the BCPA Executive Director attended the Fairfield City Council meeting where the new Mayor Steve Miller held his first meeting.

Butler County Port Authority Board Meeting

The BCPA met January 14th and passed a 2014 Budget Appropriation Resolution and a Resolution for the Advance/Loan from the Butler County Commissioners. Tim Abbot presented a check from Duke Energy for $10,000.

MillerCoors hosted the BCPA Board Meeting featuring a Compliance Policy presentation by Lona Valentine and Abbot Thayer from Peck Shafer. Executive Director Mike Campbell announced that the BCPA received a $10,000 grant for the Local Govenment Innovation Fund implementation report in 2014.

West Chester Township Trustee Meeting on Tuesday November 12th

Lee Wong is President of the Board of Trustees and leads the meeting. He was reelected in the recent election. This was the second meeting I have attended this year and I was able to sit and chat with Mike Juengling, Director of Planning and Economic Development.
