American Apparel Haul

So I came to a realization a couple of months ago that I need more basics in my wardrobe. I always end up buying these like "trendy" and colorful tops/bottoms that are so hard to match up, so I end up not wearing a lot of the clothes that I buy.
I shopped around a lot and came upon American Apparel (of course I knew about them for a while) and I fell in love with their clothing. So simple and flattering.

I've accumulated these items through a couple of months, and they have become a steady staple in my wardrobe, especially when it comes to layering. I have two of the same blouse in navy and also in black, but the black one I got as a gift from my mother. I bought everything else 30% off so I ended up saving quite a bit of money. The brown looking thing on the left is actually a maroon corduroy circle skirt, and next to that is a nude(ish) colored tanktop for some of the more transparent shirts.

This is a selfie of me wearing the button down in navy. It's so comfortable, and it goes down past my butt so I'll usually pair it with leggings or jeans. Or I can tuck it into a skirt, etc. etc. I love how it can be used in so many looks.

I think I'm going to invest in buying more circle skirts from there too because they are just so darn cute. And I think they are very flattering. One thing that annoys me is how their sizing is sometimes off. I sometimes am a medium, small, or even a large. It makes online shopping difficult, and I usually have to try on items at the store. D:

Springtime

Hoorah for pictures with my DSLR as compared to my crappier phone camera!
Out on campus with my best fran, just chilling in the sun. I need to tan my arms and legs more, because they are extremely, super pale right now....I feel so self conscious revealing them.
I am only left with one more final, and then I'm DONE. I will have summer classes, but I'm actually looking forward to them! Got to start having a heart for what I'm learning, and put my best into everything I'm doing. I think telling yourself what you're doing is fun, and having a good time despite everything that happens really helps me calm myself and not make myself crazy.

The other day I had a little get together with friends and we hung out in my tiny college dorm room...You can get a glimpse of how I live. I'm going to miss this room, I really enjoyed living here despite any shortcomings. And some of my friends are graduating this year, which also makes me sad/want to miss them.

I don't know why I kept making such a mean face in both pictures....whoops, my bad.

I have to start packing away all my stuff soon! I just finished packing my winter clothes...now to move onto my summer clothes 0.o I never realize how much stuff I have until I pull everything out. Well, that will be fun...

Tony Moly Aura Luminous Goddess BB cream (not to wear on its own because it is kind of shimmery, but to mix in with my normal BB cream for that dewy finish)

Face Shop: Face It primer velvet skin OR Innisfree no sebum ( I want to find a primer that doesn't break me out...also these two primers were top rated on the Blind Test for the show "Get It Beauty")

Faceshop balance concealer dual set (This was also highly rated in blind tests!) I want to find a good concealer, especially for acne and dark circles!

Tony moly- crystal blusher 7 bronzing brown. I also heard good things about their blush, but I already have like 3 or 4 blushes that I haven't finished.

I've really been into rain boots lately, I would even wear them when it wasn't raining > . > Lame, I know. It's gotten a bit colder where I am and I'm always looking to stay warm and comfy, so these American Eagle jeggings are a lifesaver. They look like real jeans but they feel like pajama pants so these are a total win in my book. I also bought another pair of regular skinny jeans from American Eagle, and those are so much less comfortable than these, so I end up rarely wearing them TT_TT

This two tops I thifted from Goodwill! I've been so addicted to thrifting thanks to Jenn Im (clothesencounters). The collared top has a daisy print in a light black/greyish outline all over (very subtle) and then I bought this dark navy blue vest with a speckled pattern. It reminded me of an American Apparel sweater I had really wanted years ago, which is what initially attracted me to it.

I have way too many pictures on my phone that I've been meaning to put up on my blog, so here they are.
So my friend bought me lip tints from Tony Moly, which are life savers for lazy people like me (who hate reapplying lipstick and have a habit of biting their lips)

This one is called Lovely Me:Ex milky tint, and my absolute favorite!
It gives your lip a really really light pinkish orange tint, and is just a very lovely color. Because it is a lighter color so it does wear off a bit faster. But I love how it's not super obvious or too bright. Also, I love having corals in my makeup these days as you can see in my pictures. I think it looks a lot better on me than darker reds or nudes.

This next one is called CatChu Wink and I just love the packaging because it has a little cat on the top, ho ho ho.
I had another similar lip tint by Etude House, but I think I like this one better. A little goes a longg way with this, as it's super dark.
I usually dap a few dots on my inner lips and rub together for a slightly "dolly" effect.
One complaint: after two hours or so, if my lips are dry the tint kind of settles into the crevices of my lips and looks dry...I don't really care because I'll just reapply or wear some lip gloss, but just letting you guys know.

This is me with the 1st lip tint...Had super good lighting by my window! :) Beautiful day today.

So I've been doing summer school all summer. Soo tiring, I haven't gotten a break this year from studying. And when I do have time, I end up watching some korean dramas, or trashy TV (pretty much anything on TLC or MTV).
But I have lost some weight due to
a.) lack of money ㅠ.ㅠ
b.) walking around in the hot sun
c.) working out more. I've still been eating normally mostly, just eating less junk food.

Ah, best nachos ever. Making me hungry again. It had chili, cheese, guacamole, lettuce, japalpenos, etc. Yummmmmm~

The cutest cupcakes EVER. My friend made these for me, and they were red velvet! My favorite type of cupcakes! Ben & Jerry's made an ice cream in that flavor and it's one of my favorites now.

An outfit I tried on at a thrift store! I ended up buying the shorts. The picture does no justice because the shorts are mad cute! They are scalloped on the top and at the bottom, and flare at the bottom. The top was way too big for me and awkward so I didn't get it, haha.

So a lot of people really thought the make-up tutorials I found were helpful so I decided to put up a few more! （´・ω・｀）

This just popped up on my newsfeed for YouTube, but this make-up artist has posted soo many make-up tutorials on her channel. She actually does make-up for a lot of celebrities like BoA and Kim Tae Hee, so they're very informative. This one is called "Summer Red Lip Point Look" so she utilizes red lipstick but in a subtle and really pretty way! I would totally do this! I really liked this look because it's minimal but the slight red lip really makes the model's face pop.

This look is BoA's make-up from K-POP Star which many of you may or may not have seen... It was a show kind of like American Idol (but looking for more "idol" like singers). JYP, YG, and SM entertainment were all featured on the show as judges and BoA always had AMAZING makeup! So I was excited when I saw this tutorial up~

This is one of the girls I posted in my last entry Eugene from the old Korean idol group SES. I really liked this video because it showed a couple simple steps and instantly she looked a lot brighter and woken up. Simple but efficient! Also, kind of an advertisement for benefit products, but I myself use Benefit a lot so definitely check it out! It's a bit expensive but there is A LOT in one product so I've been using my Benefit blusher/bronzer for over a year. I'm almost done with the blusher so I need to get a new one soon! Or Benefit often does package deals with Sephora which make it more affordable as well!

This video is more for people who like the "ulzzang" look. These 3 girls are actually pretty famous ulzzangs who were featured on the show Ulzzang Generation. Their make-up skills aren't "pro" but it's really interesting to watch! This show is more about ulzzang looks and the more trendy make-up looks! The concept of the show is turning a normal girl into a cute girl (kinda shallow but...it's still interesting haha)

Makeup tutorials + update on life ＼(＾▽＾*)

Hello everyone!

So I've started summer school, which shouldn't be too bad (I only have it on Tuesdays and Thursdays) but it is a bit long ....three and a half hour classes (’-’*)

Anyways, I'm finally moved into my temporary summer apartment! I have to share the kitchen with like 8 other people (it's actually more like a home-share than apartment because I have my own room but share the kitchen area..) so I have to now make my own food. I just made omurice today! It came out okayy, I used the "cooking with dog" recipe mostly.

Except I used pasta sauce instead of tomato sauce so my boyfriend who ate with me was complaining that it tasted werid....took me like an hour to make it!! And flipping the egg was super difficult haha. \

OH!!!

I forgot to mention, last week while I was home for a couple days I got two major things done on me..

1.) DIGITAL PERM

2.) FRAXEL LASER TREATMENT

All on the same day too...For those who are curious, fraxel is an acne treatment/laser thing-y...I'm obviously not a doctor so not an expert, but it kinda rebuilds the skin where there are scars and helps alot with acne and the acne scarring. While I've been in college my skin has really been flipping out and just going crazy. I really hope that this works, I'll make a full blog post on it after my results (it'll probably be a couple months later as I can only get 1 treatment once a month, and it takes around 4 treatments for my acne scarring to disappear!)

My hairdresser permed my bangs to the side because I told her I want to grow out my bangs to the side! ( ･ω･ )

I'm loving this hair, it's soo comforable to wear around and I just need to scrunch my curls or I can even make my curls more bouncy by drying them a certain way.

Anyways, I was looking at youtube at certain makeup tutorials and I really think these are super helpful/really good to watch! Especially for asian skin and people who like "baby-faced" makeup!

These tutorials are the more "hard to find" tutorials, especially for those who don't type in Korean haha.

This one is hosted by old idol star (SES) Eugene. She's sooo naturally gorgeous and I used to loovee her as a child haha. This video is an example of "baby faced" make-up which is really in right now in Korea. You can tell especially from how actresses in kdramas do their makeup these days.

This was a super useful tutorial for me, especially because I have acne scars from before and it's harder for people with acne/troubled skin to pull of "water-like" make-up because it ends up usually making the pores look bigger....Anyways, in this video half of the face is made up by herself and the other half is bare in the beginning, but this famous make-up artist ends up giving her the "water-like" make-up in a way that is suitable for acne prone skin. :)

This girl was also on Star King before, she's soo good at transforming herself. This video is mostly about making a smaller face illusion. I think she obviously does the normal shading technique, but I think that lining her eyes bigger and using eyelid glue is also important for this effect, because enlarging the eyes can make the face look smaller in proportion as well. I've noticed that when my double eyelid goes away sometimes it always makes my face look wider because my eyes have "shrunk."

For any foreginers or south-eastern Asian skin types, the show "Get It Beauty" actually did a special on this, and it's pretty useful! This is the super short version of it though, they summarized all the steps.

Seriously helped me with applying foundation and other basics....I'm pretty young right now (durr) but he gives a lot of tips for older people.

For people who don't understand Korean, his main point is that most people wear makeup that makes them actually look older than they actually are.

EXAMPLE: He takes a napkin and wipes it on several celebrities faces and shows them that they're makeup comes off.

The other people all chime in, saying that is normal for everyone who wears foundation and such, but the makeup artist claims that he can do makeup that will not come off like that.

Also he notes that most people put makeup on while kind of "smearing/tapping" it into the face, which is not good because it doesn't spread evenly.

He says that the correct way is to actually put makeup on through the "lines" of your face (like the lines on the tips of your finger, he claims that your face has similar "lines") and after applying it as he has, you gently press down with your fingers to set it. Then he attempts to wipe and it does not come off. Super simple but amazinggg. Anyways, he also gives tips on how to draw eyeliner and mascara as wellll~

I hope these videos might help you guys with makeup skillz cause it sure did help me! Let me know if there are any tips your liked/disliked :) Alsoo, if you guys like it, I can try to find some more later! I've actually watched SO MANY of these videos when I'm bored, I just posted some of the ones I thought were more interesting! :)

So lately I feel like I've lost track of what I really wanted this blog to bee...I have a vision in mind, but it's really hard for me to pull through especially because I feel very....low of self esteem these days I guess? And it doesn't help that I've gained a lot of weight and have been having more acne lately. I need to get my act together and just do what I need to do but it is hard at times....
Anyways, I'm trying really hard to become more fit and get healthier, because I think all these things correlate to each other..
I went to Boston Anime with my close friend recently, and we took a lot of pictures!

Spring is here~ Dun dun dunnnn

So Spring is here, and I am actually DREADING it. For those of you who have spring allergies, you know what I am talking about...It's really the worst. I get runny nose, nasal congestion, light headedness, itchy eyes, sore throat/coughing THE WORKS. TT-TT So I looked up some spring tips in order to make the most of my spring...so far I haven't gotten that sick but I know it will probably get worse as more pollen gets released into the air..
SO, tip number 1:
1.) Always take a shower when coming back from being outside: this will clear out any pollen that might be physically attached to you, and obviously has a "refreshing" effect

2.) Keep your windows closed; this is harder for me because I have a roommate, but I live on the 16th floor of my dorm so I don't think I'll be in THAT much danger of pollen coming in

3.) Use salt water! I take natural sea salt and mix it with warm water to gargle and sometimes my eyes as well. It stings alot at first, especially when your nose is raw from blowing into tissues and much, BUT afterwards you feel alot better!

oh my...looks like cocaine LOL.

4.) Clean your room! Vacuum at least every week and get all that dust off the surfaces!

5.) Nasal Mist/Allergy medication; Ok well this is my first year using nasal mist, because usually I used the warm salt water (yes, I would basically like snort salt water -_- ) but honestly that was such a hassle, so I bought some...hopefully it will work! But the allergy medication I am very iffy on, because I feel like using medication brings down your immune system in terms of fighting allergens later. Maybe its an asian mom thing, but my mother always prevented me from taking allergy medication (she would make me deal with the symptoms directly). I would take them from time to time though, mostly if I knew that I had to be outside for most of the day.

6.) The mornings have the WORST pollen count! You can definitely tell, because my symptoms would always get worse T-T ALSO, rainy days are the best, because the pollen is not floating around in the air as much I guess? My super nonlogical reasoning ha. But I don't know why but on rainy days I always had less problems with allergies~

I first saw her in this indie movie that she was in with Joseph Gordon Levitt and I first thought she was Katy Perry....no joke they sometimes look EXACTLY the same, especially when Katy Perry used to look more normal lol! Anyways yea after that I started to take more notice of her, like in the movie Yes Man and of course 500 Days of Summer!

I love her use of girly dresses and tights! I used to wear this types of outfits often but these days I've been SOO lazy T-T

Late Merry Christmas/Upcoming New Years!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas day!

I didn't do much, but it was a relief from the hectic school schedule I had. Thank god, it's all over...(for now...)

I did do some shopping, in which I invested in a really nice skirt from BCBG Max Azria! It was also on sale, which helped my wallet a lot, but it was a lot more than I would care to put on just a skirt :)

I've been thinking about some New Years Resolutions for myself. As my 3rd grade teacher would put it: "Turning Over a New Leaf." Some of my main goals for this year:

- Read the Bible more

- When studying, focus!!! a.k.a Don't Procrastinate!

- Lose all the extra weight I gained from the past school years (aka go to the gym [think about the wasted membership money T-T) , don't eat greasy/unhealthy university food)

- Find myself a style that fits me!

- Don't stress :)

There's probably a lot that some of you may agree with....
I know that I definitely need to get a hold of my life, even though I have been for the past couple months, I know I can try way harder.

Anyways, I've been kind of MIA for the past month or so, and I apologize! I've been winding down from school, but then something came up and I had to help my parents out at work and I've literally have been getting up at 5 AM and sleeping at 8 PM when I get home...So I basically had no life for about a week haha. But I don't mind too much, I did get paid for my work! :D which is nice so I can use it for my computer repair!
Anyways I shall post up some pictures from the beginning of the school year!

What's New?

Once again, being pulverized by finals and essays ㅠ_ㅠ when does the madness end? I planned out my week and I literally like a final draft of an essay, Psychology exam, organic chemistry online assignment, and a psychology experiment all scheduled for the 12th. Good-bye free time ㅠㅠ. And in between I have a Korean presentation to make and a lab. AHHHHHHHHH. Wish me luck guys.
Anyways, just wanted to update with some yummy food pictures and such~
Went out for sushi with the boyfriend at a place nearby and got the Christmas maki! Was beyond delicious!

We also went to this place where it was all you can eat sushi buffet for 15 dollars :DDD I took pictures but they're on my other camera so.....next time~

Had a mini BBQ party at my friend's apartment! We ate lots of samgyupsal and the likes~ It's super yummy with the samjang and lettuce!! As you can see we had too many people and not enough tables so we just ate on the floor with the newspaper lol! Also had an mini adventure because the fire alarm in the room kept going off >.>

Again here out at a resturant eating some gam ja tang....Which means potato stew...But oddly it isn't because there are potatoes in the stew, but because the meat in the stew is also called "gam ja." Fun fact, ha.

It's a itouch 4th generation! Bought at Best Buy and one for me one for my boyfriend ^^ It was my early gift for Christmas since he got me the DSLR. :T alittle expensive, but I had been saving up for a while~

IU came out with a new song last week! Boys at my uni are going crazy (well the Korean ones at least). Funny though, my friend told me the "true nature of IU" which I thought was super interesting. So my friend's cousin goes to the same school as IU but she obviously does not come to class often being that shes a huge celebrity. But she does come once in awhile and she came into class and happened to sit in front of my friend's cousin. They were there that day to take a test, and in Korea to take a test apparently you use special markers. IU didn't have a marker I guess or forgot it, so she turns around to my friend's cousin and tells her to give her a marker. The cousin was like, "I'm sorry I only have this marker" and obviously at first is very starstruck since it was the first time seeing her upclose. However, IU gives her a blank look and was like, "But I'm IU....give me your marker." The cousin was very shocked and still apologized and said no to her, and IU kept trying to argue that she was "IU" and finally just gave her a dirty look and looked away.

I was like .....WTF?! IU...? That cute and innocent looking girl?

But her story about IU's attitude was again confirmed by another guy I know who also met her in real life himself. So shocking! I still like her music, but it's weird knowing for sure that IU is not all cute and bubbly in reality.

I actually got a lot this year! I was so surprised, but my freshman babies gifted me with so many~ I feel spoiled with pocky, thank you all~~

And my boyfriend got me like 15 pockys! I was soooooooooooo emotionally distressed and basically on the verge of tears the day I got them, but then I went into my room and my boyfriend secretly got my keys and left pocky all over my room and had sticky notes all over them saying super cute things!!!!

So I won't go into TOO much detail about Taobao, but basically I used a site called

TAOBAO SPREE: http://taobaospree.com/

They are very kind and reliable, and they always e-mailed be back within a day, or even within hours! I seriously love this site! By the way, I'm not like being sponsored by them or anything hhaha although I'm not sure how you could get sponsorship from a site that basically agents Taobao for you.

So for people who are like "What is an agent???" To put it simply, it is a company/person who buys stuff in China off Tabao and put your desired order together and send it to you. You just contact them with a form and put everything you want inside that form...and they will check up on that seller and see if the items are in stock, etc. Taobao is very similar to ebay and many thing sell out very fast~

I was given options about the shipping like EMS, China Post, etc etc. But I took EMS. It cost about 40 bucks and I got like 10-ish items, so I think that was a pretty okay deal (although on the expensive side).

The socks from Taobao....W <3 C . I thought these socks would be super low quality, but they're super cute and comfortable. Wouldn't recommend them for people with feet size bigger than maybe 8 though. My feet are 7 and they were a tight fit.

Not much has happened this past week...Except MIDTERMS T-T

I died and came back to life...Thank you Columbus Day weekend! Refresh!

Gonna be a quick post!

Just on the outfits I wore for the past couple days :) I kept forgetting to post, so sorry to bunch them all in one post!

Sorry it's so dark...In my offense, it was a gray dress and black leggings...

I love this knit top! I wish I had taken a picture without the jacket....I got the knit from free people, which is one of my favorite US shops!

....Hmm, and I am also recently starting a renewed diet. Few posts ago during the summer, I wrote about how I was losing weight (and I did) but I've been pretty stagnant (not gaining but not losing). Mostly due to lack of exercise and control of what I should be eating. Should I start writing about my diet plans on this blog, or would you guys think that's too random and not relevant? Be truthful! Keke I won't be hurt!

Birthday Fun

So it was my birthday earlier this month (yay- 19 years old finally...when did I get so old?) and my boyfriend set up a surprise birthday party for me. ´ ▽ `
I was reallyy shocked and just felt so loved <3 haha I also got an amazing gift from him....(it's my birthday+1 year gift).

It's a Canon Rebel TI? (I think thats the right name...) Anyways....so emotional and sooo sweet! (･ω･)

I mean I seriously felt like it was too much for me, but he was adamant in getting it. (For reals.)

He initially didn't tell me, but I somehow found out with his hints a little earlier. I told him just to get me a smaller digital camera if he really wanted me to get a camera, but he surprised me while we went out for sushi <3

I feel so blessed and I'm really glad to have him in my life, even though he drives me insane sometimes. Sorry for all the corniness....

Anyways, moving onto the actual surprise party....I had no idea!!!

After getting the present, I wanted to go home and study for organic chemistry (nerdy, I know..) but for some reason my bf wouldn't let me go!! I kinda actually got a little mad at him, because let me be honest, I REALLYY had to go to the bathroom as well. But FINALLY when we got there, I opened my door and ALL of our friends were standing there with a cake!

NYC （´∀｀）

Soo, I went to NYC last week with my dear friend Yumi :3 we walked so much around the city and my feet were definitely crying after the mini-trip. But still it was so much fun so it was worth it!

Started out eating at a Takoyaki stand near St. Marks Square! So delicious! In case any of you guys wanna go visit there, here's the address:

Since it was so hot, we went and got some shaved ice! We had the options of getting 3 "additions" so we got red bean, aloe, and condensed milk. SUPER good, but might have been just because we were sweating and gross. Haha ( ´ ▽ ` )

Probably the cutest condoms I've ever seen. Yumi told me it said something like "we are a couple" on it ＾▽＾

So many O.O but sooo cute!

Super cute figurines! They're actually so tiny, but when me and Yumi took pictures, they looked like a real life set of food. Haha we wanted to fool people that we ate this great feast with Rilakkuma scattered around.

Finally at the end of the day we stopped by a bubble tea store...I think I got lychee flavor (I usually get Taro, which is also really yummy), but lychee flavor was soo refreshing! And yumi got grapefruit flavor which was super tangy (and not too sweet).

Ah, I shall post a college post later, but it's almost 3 AM here....post more later!

So today was an odd day to say the least...
Started out so normal, it was the last day of my summer classes (whoo~) so I decided to meet up with my best friend and we just lazed around for a bit, because I had to pick up my brother from his art lesson.

THEN as we're going into the apartment complex of my art teacher I see this creepy looking old man. Imagine this: a white old man with a big belly and a little short, with greyish hair. And just the weirdest stare ever.
So me and my friend are trying to ignore him because obviously he's just being SO creepy and as we pass him he's like making all these racial jokes towards us. (Obviously because were both asian) and he's like saying stuff like "Aren't you going to say Konichiwa or Ahn yeong ha saeyo?" and like asking us if we were American (which we both are). I have NO clue why I even answered his sorry ass, but I said "Yes, I'm American."
Then he's like, "No you must be Korean or Chinese." and I was just so shocked about this random CREEP trying to talk to us that I didn't really say much and just stood there. I've heard racial jokes/comments so I actually thought the whole situation was pretty ridiculous, but nothing serious. But then, out of nowhere, the man is like,"Do you want to make love?"
and I was like
what the hell?
totally out of the blue and just SO inappropirate. I got freaked out and was like "NO" and we just walked away. When I got to my teacher's apartment doorbell, I was like ringing it frantically, just sooo werided out by what happened.
We reported it to the supervisor, but omg....I really hope that guy gets kicked out of the apartment, because he's been known for having that kind of behavior around the apartments I guess...
So next time a random man comes up to you like that, RUN. Haha, well that might not be the best idea, but seriously cut him off and walk away. (´Д｀)

Anyways, I did have a good day besides that whole werido man almost ruining it.
I bought my friend his graduation gift~It's a cute cat key-ring, because of his slightly odd obsession with CATS. ´∀｀
Then I went to my friend's ice cream place, and got a free banana spilt dazzler! Was actually the best ice cream I had in a LONG time. <3
Finally to top off the day made some buffalo chicken with friends and watched the eternally trashy JERSEY SHORE.

POTD...I love my summer shirt from Lucky Brand! It's so light and cute! And I got it in a really good sale whoo~

Sometimes it's a little inconvient having two laptops because I have different things on each computer...so I'm thinking of buying a usb or something to transfer my files with...My friend had this really cute hello kitty one so I'm also searching the web for anything I can find!

Hi, guys~

Doing a mostly outfit post today! I got a Macbook Air (ﾟ∀ﾟ) It is soo thin, compact, and pretty! ´∀｀

My current computer is a Toshiba 19 inch (which is HUGE). and it was always soo hard to carry around for college. （　´_ゝ`）so after so much struggle I finally bought a new 13.3 laptop :) And the webcam works AMAZING.

Weridly enough, I think my whole outfit except my tanktop is from forever21. The shirt and skirt I bought together! So cute, and really comfortable to wear to class. My turquoise ring and necklace are also from forever21. :)

Really simple makeup look...mostly because I was lazy lol. Just some blush, foundation, and mascara and lip stain. :)
