I'm really confused as to why you feel the need to lie. As a child I'm sure you used lies to get out of sitting in a corner for taking a cookie without asking. As an adult you use it to manipulate your coworkers, lovers, friends and to cover your ass. Adults that lie, tell half truths or cover up things are not trustworthy. How could I trust you with anything if you can't be honest with me?

It must be really exhausting keeping up with all those lies! Friends will say things to me and a few weeks later when I say something about it they say, "Oh no, blah, blah, blah! Not such n such! You must have heard me wrong." as if I misunderstood the language they were speaking. Unless you were misunderspeaking, I'm pretty sure I heard you correctly the first time. Then to top it all off they go on to heap a few more scoops of lies on there to explain where the "misunderstanding" may have occurred.

Just stop. It's not cute, funny or attractive in any way, shape or form. I don't have time for it. Nor am I willing to make time for it. I don't need "friends" that lie, I'd rather spend my time with strangers that will be honest with me.

Lying keeps you on edge, keeps you irritated with yourself because you are constantly trying to keep the lies in order. It binds you. Ever hear the saying, "the truth will set you free"? Try it sometime. You might even be able to sleep at night.

If you look at my Facebook page you'll see everything that really should be posted here. Lots of pictures from this summer, musings, freebie offers I sign myself and the kids up for and the like. So why don't I post here? Not sure really... but I like having the option :)

Diet Blog Week 1

I started my diet in the middle of the week so I chose to make the first post about the whole first week. Where you see vitamins it consists of 1 multi-vitamin, 2 B12 (1000 mcg), 1 B complex, 1 cranberry, and 2 vitamin D! For an extra boost in the middle of the day I take an Emergen-C packet...good stuff :)

Wednesday was my first official day so here's what I had to eat on Wednesday:

1 Chicken biscuit from Chick-fil-A and a large coffee with half as much sugar as I usually put in, vitamins

1 packet cheese crackers and Coke zero for lunch

1 chicken ranch salad from Mickey D's with one packet of dressing instead of my usual 2!

Thursday:

Egg beaters southwestern style, with a sprinkle of cheese and 2 small link sausages large coffee, vitamins

no lunch, lots of water!

dinner, large salad with diced chicken, sprinkle of cheese, tomatoes, vinaigrette dressing, and about 10 croutons, Coke zero

snack was a handful of tortilla chips

Friday:

peanut butter crackers, coffee, water, vitamins

no time for lunch, coke zero, more water

BBQ chicken sandwiches made with chicken breast, baked beans

snack was a funsize snickers

So, I felt pretty good up until this point. And my lovely BFF who had spent the night with me and the kids explained to me the joys of Baconnaise. If you've never heard of it check it out here. She said she had it at some place in Nashville and said I just HAD to try it. So we looked it up online, did the "where to buy" thing and found out the Kroger right down the street had it! So at 11:15 pm my 12yo son and I hop in the van and drive to the store in search of the yummy goodness. When we found it we were both overjoyed. So we take it back to the house and the BFF and I make ham, swiss and Baconnaise sandwiches at midnight. Now, I'm not a big mayo eater so I used very little of the bacon flavored kind. Never the less I was eating at midnight :(

Saturday

Egg beaters with a sprinkle of "mexican style" cheese and salsa over wheat toast, coffee, vitamins

no lunch, coke zero, water

dinner..... see below

Saturday night I was kidless, the oldest and twin A spent the night at my mom's, twin B spent the night with a little boy from church. So I went and hung out with my oldest son's father (yes we're cool like that). So we ended up at Fellini's Pizza (YUM) at about 9pm... my breakfast had been 11 hours ago... what do you think happened? I ordered 2 slices of pizza, that's what happened! A slice of White and a slice of Hawaiian. Dang it all....

Sunday

2 ham biscuits from church, coffee

rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and baked beans, 2 (yes 2) Pepsi's

no dinner but I did have 2 handfuls of cheese popcorn and a funsize kit kat

Now with all the bad choices over the weekend I think I undid any progress I had made earlier in the week. So I will make better decisions this week and will actually find time to squeeze in some exercising other than cleaning houses. Although I do like the ones with stairs so I can run up and down them a few times :)

Diet Blog aka: Releasing the skinny girl kidnapped by fat!

Ok, so one day last week I saw a picture of myself from 3 years ago, Jan 2007 to be exact. In that picture I was in a size 13 jeans (they were not tight) and I was 155 lbs. I stayed that way for a few months. I bought all new clothes, gave away my size 18/20s and my 22/24s, and eventually got rid of my size 15s and 16s to make way for my 13s, 12s and the 2 pair of 11s I had just bought. I never got into those 11s because, as a friend of mine said, I got "happy" and started eating again.
Today I am just over 200 lbs. I am 204 according to my scale and 210 according to my mom's scale. At any rate, I want to get back into my size 13 jeans and then into my size 11s that are just begging to be worn by somebody and I prefer it be me!
So with all that being said, I have decided to blog about my food choices, my exercise routine for the day, the vitamins I take and whether or not I have fallen off the chuck wagon! Oh yeah and of course I'll be posting the numbers...whether they go up or down! I hope that you will all join me on this journey....

My Prayer

I know that You have the situation under control, but I'm only human and sometimes (most times) my panicky human nature gets in the way of You doing Your work.
I know that You have unlimited patience, but I'm only human and when I hear You say be patient I am (for a little while) and then I stop listening.
I know that You are here to comfort me, but I'm only human and have a tendency to pick up the phone (instead of The Book) and seek advice.
I know that You want only the best for me, but I'm only human and can't seem to make the best decisions (the right decision) for myself.

So I guess what I'm asking for is self control, patience, wisdom and peace. I need Your guidance to get me through these days. I am not well. I can't stop the tears from staining my face. I'm not even sure how I ended up here or why. I'm in the valley and I can't see the sun. You never said it would be easy, You only said I'd never go alone. I need You to hold my hand and please don't let go.....

Dear NASA,
I think you've run out of things to do. Though you have amused us for the last 40 years with your "missions", we have decided that the money you use for those "missions" could be better spent on improving the conditions here on Earth. Please understand the funding for these such "missions" will no longer be approved. No more flying rockets into space to search for ice particles. No more sending space bots into black holes or any other nonsense you can come up with.
Funding will however still be provided for maintenance on satellites as that is something that is actually important to the people here on Earth. Please do not even consider asking for funding for anything other than that.
Now don't be upset, there is a lot of good that will come out of the money that United States will save by cutting the fat....I mean streamlining the Space Program. I'll give you just a few examples of what the billions of dollars you waste could do if used properly.
1. Old buildings in the inner cities will be renovated to help the homeless families get back on their feet. We understand some people prefer to live this way but I'm sure children would prefer their moms and dads have the skills necessary to get a job to get them off the streets.
2. Teachers will get a pay raise. These unsung heroes have our future in their hands on a daily basis. They will be compensated accordingly.
3. Members of our armed forces will receive a raise in pay as well. They fight for our freedom because they choose to. We will make sure to make it worth their while. Their families will be able to save in case the unimaginable happens.
4. Programs will be put in place to help single mothers who are working and/or going to school to make sure they have affordable healthcare. Did you know most states will give their kids Medicaid while the mothers get nothing? If the mothers of these children get sick and can't afford to go to the Dr, what will happen to the children? They will go into the system and the cycle will continue.
These are just some of the things that will happen with what used to be your money. I'm sure we will be able to sit around and think of other ways to help this country much like you sat around thinking of frivolous space "missions".
So with that being said we have a lot of work to do.

We had been planning this yard sale for more than a few weeks and I still wasn't ready! That's how much stuff I have in my garage right now. So my friend and I quickly changed plans and decided to have it at her house instead. All it would take to be ready there would be to move the cars and set up tables. So that's what we did. I loaded up what I had and took it over there.
The kids and I get there Thursday night and help her unload her storage room, then we unloaded my van. By this time the kids are hungry so we pause for hamburgers and hot dogs. We have 7 boys between the 2 of us and that dinner always goes over the best with them!
Once we got dinner over with we go back out to the carport and survey our excess possessions. That's when we realized we had too much stuff. Not to mention the stuff neither one of us pulled out yet! So now we have to start pricing. We got about an hour in before I had to leave to get the kids in bed. So we wrapped up the night and the kids and I left.
The next morning I got the kids off to school and made my way through the traffic to get to her house. My mom pulled up behind me. We had to use her folding tables since neither of us thought about the fact we didn't have any ourselves! So since mom was there she helped us set up and we fed her and Egg McMuffin and gave her some coffee for her help. She seemed happy with that payment. I love my mom. :)
Ok so now we are officially open for business and our first customer bought a garbage bag full of paperbacks and various other things. We were stoked! If all the other folks would have bought like she did we wouldn't have had to hold it again Saturday! The rest of the day was slow and go all day. We stopped about 2:30 and I headed home to get the kids.
I waited until my middle schooler got home and was just about to head back over there for clean up when the TV guy called and said he was on his way! So we waited until he got there and headed back over for clean up. Her and her husband had already pulled everything in under the carport so we were ready for the next day. We stayed for dinner then headed back home.
Saturday we got a late start. We were supposed to be at her house by 7-7:30 and we left home a few minutes till 8! So we get over there and wait for the "slew" of people that we were sure were on the way. Well they were.....but apparently they didn't want any of our vast array of treasures. A BUNCH of people left empty handed which is odd to me since my mom and I have yard sales at least twice a year and we make a ton of cash. I guess it all has to do with location?
We did have our share of interesting characters come through to browse our belongings. We even had an old friend of ours from another lifetime (about 8-12 years ago exactly) come through with what we guessed was his girlfriend. Neither one of us said anything to him. She leaned over and said "Is that?" and I said "Mmmm hmmm". She said "You sure?" and I said "Mmmm hmmm". He did the "I think I know them but I'm not sure" glance a few times. They left and we had to get our other friend on the phone to tell her all about it! That alone was worth the whole ordeal because back when we hung out with him he made fun of yard sales! And here he was shopping at ours!
I did learn a few things to make it easier on ourselves and our shoppers.
*I grouped small toys together and put them in a ziplock bag with one price for the whole bag.
*Pricing each individual piece of clothing keeps confusion down.
*Sitting in the shade makes for a much more comfortable day!
I will be having another one, most likely in the spring. I have a lot of things, toys and clothes to go through, socks to match, drawers to raid, boxes to unpack and puzzle pieces to find. I will be successful at the next one! I have a new plan, to price things as I find them so setting up will be a breeze!

Hmmmmmm

Not any real reason, I just haven't done it. Well it's become apparent that I am getting more traffic due to my "Tami is quite needy these days" post. Again, not any real reason, but I'm kind of enjoying the attention. Never mind the fact that I posted it just over a year ago!
At any rate I felt the need to go ahead and mention that little fact about my blog and vow right here, right now, to post a little something each day (I know I've said it before but this time I mean it!) to see where this blogging thing takes me.
It is very cool to know that people from every corner of the US and a few from Singapore & the UK have taken a few minutes to read my post. Some have even gone on to read a few more!
So thanks to all of you who happen upon my little slice of the blogging pie and hopefully I will post some funny, quirky, sometimes thoughtful things to keep you coming back for more!

Google yourself

I told her I used my name as the search terms. Well she thought that was funny and said "Haha, I'm gonna Google you!" So she did. She says "WHOA!" and proceeds to tell me the first thing that pops up under my name is a forum where they were talking about my dad's death from 2 1/2 years ago! So I check into it and sure enough there were well wishes for our family from fellow drivers he never knew. By the time I got done reading I felt the overwhelming need to say something to them. The following is what came out:
Hey everyone, I am his daughter. I know this thread is 2 1/2 years old but I felt the need to let you know that your kind words for a man and his family that most of you never knew are a great comfort even now. Thank You all from the bottom of my heart.
The actual cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. It happened when he lost his footing and fell. We used to joke and call him a tank on 2 feet but we soon realized how fragile that tank was. When my mother and brother, the one that Krash met, got to the hospital in SC, the doctor told my mom that he had no brain activity all night long. About 2 hours later she made the decision to pull the plug. I think she would have held on except he had told us many times if anything like that ever happened he did not want to be kept on a "damn machine". So at 9:35 AM he was officially gone.
My daddy and I were never close, I was not "daddy's little girl" but he was my daddy and I still miss him reminding me to get the oil changed, air up the tires, and tinkering around in the garage or the yard.
My dad thought he didn't have any friends but as many drivers that showed up on Christmas Eve to say goodbye to him proved differently. Everywhere I turned were Kroger and ABF drivers and Teamsters he'd known for years. Some of the Kroger drivers I hadn't seen since I was a kid. But they still remembered me and told me stories of the Terry they knew, who wasn't a whole lot different from the one we knew.
He was known for his Papermate pens and his calculator. He was quirky and smart and sometimes annoying but I guess that's what daddies do.
My mom and I used to ride with him before my brothers were born. They taught me math and my ABC's while going down the interstate in the truck. I grew up on the road and in truckstops and learned how to talk on the CB as soon as I could speak. My handle was Little Gem, his was Diamond Turtle and my mom was Diamond Lady. I could tell you how to get to Raccoon Valley from GA and OH by the time I was 4 and it's all because of him. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Little Gem

Chchchchanges

It has been a long time since I've posted! And a lot has happened.....so much in fact that as I'm sitting here trying to think of it all, I know I am forgetting quite a few things.
The biggest thing is that the kids and I have moved into a house! We LOVE it! It has everything we wanted and everything we need. Lots of storage, great fenced in backyard, fireplace and a kitchen that looks right into the living room over the island where the boys sit and eat their meals on occasion!
If that wasn't awesome enough, there is a flock of Canadian Geese that come in the yard and eat out of your hands! The kids were thrilled to pieces to be feeding these geese. One of the twins was so "in the moment" that he wanted to hand feed the squirrels! Which is probably not that far off for him, he loves animals.
My oldest made 2 friends the day we moved in and he is a different kid (in a good way). He didn't want to move at first then the more we came over to work on the house the more I heard about how he couldn't wait to make new friends. Thank God! I thought I'd have to pull him out of the trailer kicking and screaming! The little booger was the first one to have his room set up and he was out the door playing.
The twins tell me at least once a day how much they like living here. They have their own yard to play in, and a cul-de-sac to ride bikes in and lots of trees to play in. Their toys have barely been played with! Oh yeah and they have bunk beds now!
I love my new room, my new closet and my new bathroom. But what matters the most to me is seeing my boys smiles and hearing the laughter echoing through the house....I pray it stays that way forever.......

Saturday 9: Almost Famous

Have you ever been told that you look like some famous?
I was once told I look like Julia Styles, which I don't at all, but think she's beautiful so I was flattered anyway!

2. Name a celebrity that shares your birthday.
Miley Cyrus, Harpo Marx, Boris Karloff and Billy the Kid

3. Tell us about your first kiss.
My first kiss was HORRIBLE! It was with the totally wrong guy! I was in love with his brother and he wanted to take me out. So we went out and then went back to the house sat around and talked for a while and then he kissed me....YUCK! Still gives me the heeby jeebies!

4. When you meet someone attractive, what do you notice first?
Eyes, or smile if they are wearing sunglasses! LOL

5. What was your biggest mistake ever?
I don't see many things as mistakes but I guess not going to college when I had the chance!

6. Give us one random, but candid fact about you.
I LOVE the fact that my 5 year olds still want to sleep with me even if we are running out of room in the bed!

7. What about your current or most recent lover excites you?
seeing him grow as a person

8. What really annoys you?
People who don't think before acting or speaking, kids stepping on things instead of picking them up, an 11 year old boy who thinks he knows everything, and my mom flipping out over little bitty things.

9. How many other Saturday 9’ers answers do you usually read?
I usually pick about 10-15 randomly to read.

Randomness

Is there someone you'd like to be kissing right now?
The same person I'd like to be kissing for the rest of my life but I'm not that important to him.

2. When you're being extremely quiet, what does it mean?
I'm extremely angry or sleeping

3. What are you listening to right now?
The Jungle Book

4. Are you a big fan of thunderstorms?
I love them especially at night!

5. Do you believe in perfect?
Everyone has their own idea of perfect. I think there are situations that are perfect for certain people.

6. Are you a jealous person?
Not anymore

7. What was the first thing you thought this morning?
It's Sunday, my kids are still sick, my throat hurts and I would love to sleep all day, but I have to pee....that was all in the same amount of time it took you to read it....

8. What do you think about when you are falling asleep?
How I wish I were not falling asleep alone and wondering if I ever will have someone to fall asleep with again.

9. Are you satisfied with what you have in life?
Stuff, yes. Home no. My trailer is literally falling apart. Other than that I don't need fancy stuff as long as my kids and I are happy

10. Do people ever think that you're either older or younger than you actually are?
younger

11. Do you think men truly understand women?
nope not at all, most don't even try

12. How about women understanding men?
for the most part they are fairly simple creatures

13. Did anybody ever call you handsome or beautiful?
yes

14. What is one fact about the last person that called you?
She is my mom....

15. Other than your current one, what’s the longest relationship you have had?
Never had a real one

He wears an "E" on his chest.....

He spotted the twist ties that came with my little blue trash bags I got from the dollar store. He says "Mommy what's these?" I told him they were twist ties to close the garbage bags. He asked if he could play with them and I said yes. I mean really what trouble could he get into with some little twist ties? Just then E comes in and they are looking at the twist ties together. They sit on the floor and start taking them apart. Within a few minutes I hear E telling J "NO" and J was screaming back at him "MOVE". So I turn around to see E's hands covering the outlets! J had 4 twist ties still stuck together and was pushing E's hands out of the way trying to stick the ties in the outlet! I go over and thank E for looking out for his brother and immediately scold J for trying to put those in the outlet! Not sure what he was thinking because he normally does not mess with the outlets! I thank God that E walked in the kitchen when he did and knew enough to stop his brother! J could have been seriously hurt or worse. About a minute later E jumps up and goes right back to playing as if nothing happened......

I Want......
