I set it to 71 and it kept it at 71 with a low burning flame. I know it was only 32F outside, but now I can sleep better at night knowing that the pellet stove can handle heating the house.  I was really surprised at how much it lights up the living room. Currently we heat by #2 fuel oil which is currently $4.78 a gallon. We decided to get a pellet stove. It's 85% efficient, pellets cost $239 a ton, and it will take about 4 tons to heat our house for the winter. That's only $956 for a heating season.
