1.Janganlah mengganti casing ponsel dengan casing
ponsel palsu
Terkadang, bentuk serta ukuran casing ponsel orisinil kurang pas dengan ponselnya, walaupun bentuknya bagus. Hal tersebut bisa membuat beberapa komponen ponsel cepat rusak. Jadi, ada baiknya Anda mengganti casing ponsel yang asli walaupun harganya mahal karena harga mahal jaminan bagus dan bisa membantu keawetan ponsel anda.
2.Menyeting volume dering jangan ke tingkat maksimal
Memang sih jika kita menyeting volume dering ke tingkat maksimal suara lebih nyaring. Tapi pernahkah Anda sadari kalau settingan satu ini bisa membuat speaker rusak. Dan lebih parahnya lagi, penggunaan yang lebih lama bisa merusak pendengaran Anda. Kalau tidak mau speaker rusak dan pendengaran terganggu, settinglah volume dering di level menengah.

3.Matikan fitur getar pada ponsel
Biasanyan dering lebih diiringi tanda getar. Namun sebetulnya aktivitas seperti ini memboroskan baterai ponsel Anda. Lebih baik, matikan fitur getar ini pada ponsel Anda agar hemat baterai.

4.Installah aplikasi yang bermanfaat
Bagi anda yang menyukai aplikasi game / situs social networking, pastinya ponsel Anda akan dipenuhi dengan aplikasi tersebut. Namun sayangnya, jika kita penuhi ponsel dengan aplikasi tentunya akan berkurang dan kecepatan akses ponsel itu akan lambat. Bagusnya install aplikasi-aplikasi yang bermanfaat saja.

5.Jangan terlalu sering menggunakan ponsel unutk bermain Game
Kalau sedang nganggur, bermain Game tentunya merupakan salah satu hiburan. Namun ponsel yang selalu digubakan unutk bermain Game bisa mengakibatkan kerusakan pada keypadnya. Tetapi, Anda bisa melakukan perawatan pada keypadnya agar tidak cepat rusak.

6.Jangan sering berganti katru SIM
Jika anda sering berganti kartu SIM maka kemampuan dari SIM-card reader bisa berkurang. Alhasil, ponselnya pun akan sulit untuk membaca data pada kartu SIM tersebut. Seperti pada kontak masuk.

7.Jika tidak rusak, sebaiknya jangan ganti lampu LCD ponsel.
Jika anda melakukan hal ini mengakibatkan kebocoran pada LCD. Selain itu, harga jual ponsel pun turun.

8.Lebih baik gunakan anti gores pada layar juga kamera ponsel.
Hal ini tentunya mencegah layar / kamera tidak tergores. Agar hasil pencahayaannya bagus.

9.Gunakan aksesoris yang sesuai pada ponsel Anda.
Penguunaan aksesoris yang tidak sesuai dengan ponsel, dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada komponennya apalagi menggunakan aksesoris berlebihan.

10.Jangan menggunakan ponsel apabila sedang di charging
Mungkin Anda pernah menyepelekan hal ini, namun akibatnya dapat merusak baterai ponsel tersebut. Seperti halnya baterai akan mengembung dan akan ngedrop.

11.Jangan pernah menggunakan ponsel di tempat yang berimbauan nonaktifasi ponsel
Jika terdapat sebuiah larangan menggunakan ponsel di Pom Bensin, Stasiun Radio / TV, Rumah Sakit lebih baik nonaktifkan saja ponsel Anda. Penggunaan ponsel di area tersebut dapat merusak kinerja ponsel tersebut, bahkan alat elektronik pun bisa terganggu kinerjanya. Jadi, jika Anda berada di tempat yang dilarang untuk menggunakan ponsel lebih baik nonaktifkan saja ponsel Anda demi menjaga kinerja ponsel Anda dan alat-alat elektronik lainnya.

12.Lebih baik nonaktifkan ponsel Anda di tempat yang tidak ada sinyalnya
Ketika Anda berada di area tanpa sinyal, lebih baik Anda menonaktifkan ponsel seperti cara yang sebelumnya. Jika Anda memaksakan, baterai ponsel anda akan bekerja lebih keras daripada biasanya. Dan tentu baterai ponsel pun akan cepat habis.

This list sets a goal at $1,000, but you can likely get in for much, much less depending on your needs and what you already have lying around. I personally put a small one together a few years ago for easily less than $200. You probably don't want to spend too much from the get-go—especially if this is more of a hobby. Certain things on the list (like a $150 MIDI keyboard) are probably unnecessary for lots of folks, and other items (like a nice pair of headphones and speakers) are things that you may very well have already.
On the other side of the coin are the things you really do want, like a good audio interface for plugging in your mics and intstruments. You also definitely want a condenser microphone, which is built for studio recording (rather than a cheaper dynamic mic, which is the kind of microphone used for live performances). And, of course, don't neglect your space: you probably won't sink a ton of money to it, but the space in which you record will have a huge impact on how the final product sounds, and you should make sure you've set it up optimally. A long trip in space might leave this astronaut feeling like his great-grandfather.

Because astronauts like the ones on the International Space Station (ISS) are moving so quickly, they're also aging a bit more slowly than the rest of us. Due to a principle of physics known as time dilation, after a six-month stint on the ISS, returning astronauts are just a tiny bit younger than the rest of us. But before you book a ticket that'll take you literally out of this world, understand this isn't exactly a fountain of youth we're talking about. Your six-month effort at age reduction will only garner you about 0.007 seconds of extra life, according to the calculations of one ISS astronaut [source: Lu].
But that's not really the issue we're talking about when we discuss how humans age in space. Let's start with a rundown of how the aging process typically proceeds on Earth. Until scientists muster up a way to make us all immortal, most of us will go through the process of aging. This typically involves metamorphoses like bones becoming brittle, blood vessels hardening, muscles wasting away, joints stiffening up, bowels turning irritable, bladders becoming unpredictable, teeth decaying, vision growing dim, skin wrinkling up, and so on.
While for most people, it takes decades to really start to feel the effects of the aging process, humans stationed in space experience some of them in fast-forward. They're often reversible once an astronaut returns home, although sometimes a few of the changes can be permanent.

A lack of gravity is the main cause for these intense alterations. Gravity is one of the most important forces at work on Earth, and it plays an immense role in the majority of our bodily systems. Take the muscles, for example. Older peoples' muscles tend to shrink and atrophy as they age and become less mobile. Astronauts' muscles react in a similar way because they are barely used. That's why astronauts in space for extended periods of time use special exercise machines to help mitigate this effect.
A similar process takes place in the bones. After a certain age, people on Earth start to lose mass in their bones, typically at a rate of about 1-to-2 percent a year. But in space, those people lose bone mass at a greatly accelerated rate: as much as 1-to-2 percent a month. Because the astronauts' skeletal systems don't need to support their weight, the bones begin to decrease production of new bone material and increase the amount of old bone absorption. Luckily, their skeletal systems usually return to normal once they've spent some time back on terra firma [source: NASA].
Even though they're saving 0.007 seconds, astronauts still experience some of the symptoms of a drawn-out aging process. Researchers are working to figure out the mechanics of why these changes occur, as well as what can be done to prevent them. This information could not only to help make spaceflight easier on the human body, but to help improve life on Earth as well.

Yahoo messenger coming to iPhone and Android with cross-platform 3G video calls

You'll be seeing a lot more of the good ol' Yahoo smiley on front-facing cameraphones soon -- the web portal's VP of Mobile David Katz says that a new Yahoo! Messenger with cross-platform video chat is headed to Android and iPhone. Originally confirmed for the new T-Mobile myTouch, it's presently been submitted to the iTunes App Store for review. It'll reportedly work over both 3G and WiFi connections and freely conduct video calls with any other device running Yahoo! Messenger, including webcam-equipped PCs. Look out Qik, Fring and Tango -- there's a new sheriff in town.

MADRID, KOMPAS.com - Pelatih Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho, mengaku ingin menjuarai Liga Champions musim ini. Menurutnya, selain untuk reputasinya sendiri, ia ingin mengembalikan trofi Liga Champions ke tempat seharusnya itu berada.

Madrid terakhir kali menjuarai Liga Champions pada musim 2001-2002. Meski begitu, mereka masih merupakan tim yang paling banyak menjuarai ajang tersebut, yaitu sembilan kali.

Akhir musim lalu, Madrid mendatangkan Mourinho dari Inter Milan. Selain karena dikenal konsisten memberi tim asuhannya trofi, Mourinho didatangkan karena sukses menjadikan Inter juara Liga Champions 2009-2010.

"Liga Champions adalah kompetisi dari semua kompetisi. Dalam hal kualitas, ini adalah yang terpenting dan terbaik," ujar Mourinho.

NASA caught Photoshopping an image of Saturn's moons. What were they trying to hide?

A conspiracy theorist noticed that an image in NASA's Astronomy Picture Of The Day had noticeable Photoshop brushstrokes in it, when you turned up the contrast. Is there a mysterious object hiding near Saturn's moons?

Check out the official image of Dione and Titan, above. A YouTube user named DominatorPS3 turned up the contrast on the image, and discovered brush strokes. You can just about see a "rainbow aura" around the object that's been blacked out.

As quoted by Fox News, DominatorPS3 said: "More solid proof of NASA/ government cover-ups. And this is recent. You can do this yourself!!"
Dominator PS3's tell-all YouTube video has been taken down, allegedly because he received death threats. But he's put up a follow-up video, which you can watch here.
NASA's Emily Lakdawalla, who was responsible for the photoshopping, explained it over at Planetary.org:

Cassini takes color pictures by snapping three sequential photos through red, green, and blue filters. In the time that separated the three frames, Dione moved, so if I did a simple color composite I would be able to make Titan look right, but not Dione; or Dione look right, but not Titan. So I aligned Dione, cut it out, and then aligned Titan, and then had to account for the missing bits of shadow where the bits of Dione had been in two of the three channels.

She explains the process further here, showing how some other images of Saturn and its moons have been photoshopped — but she didn't post any raw images of the Dione/Titan image that caused the controversy. So at least some conspiracy theorists were not appeased, demanding to see the raw images. Update: She did actually include a link to the raw image feed, where you can grab it.

Body Organs Can Send Status Updates To Your Cellphone

Currently, if a cardiac patient's heart rate gets too high the implanted defibrillator in their chest gives them a friendly remedial shock to avoid a heart attack. But that could soon change—by giving hearts their very own IP addresses.

Dutch research organisation IMEC, based in Eindhoven, this week demonstrated a new type of wireless body area network (BAN). Dubbed the Human++ BAN platform, the system converts IMEC's ultra-low-power electrocardiogram sensors into wireless nodes in a short-range network, transmitting physiological data to a hub – the patient's cellphone. From there, the readings can be forwarded to doctors via a Wi-Fi or 3G connection. They can also be displayed on the phone or sound an alarm when things are about to go wrong, giving patients like me a chance to try to slow our heart rates and avoid an unnecessary shock.
Julien Penders, who developed the system, says it can also work with other low-power medical sensors, such as electroencephalograms (EEGs) to monitor neurological conditions or electromyograms to detect neuromuscular diseases. Besides helping those already diagnosed with chronic conditions, BANs could be used by people at risk of developing medical problems – the so-called "worried well" – or by fitness enthusiasts and athletes who want to keep tabs on their physiological processes during training.
Tied to an Android
IMEC's technology is not the first BAN, but integrates better than earlier versions with the gadgets that many people carry around with them. IMEC has created a dongle that plugs into the standard SD memory card interface of a cellphone to stream data from the sensors in real time and allow the phone to reconfigure the sampling frequency of sensors on the fly. The associated software runs on Google's Android cellphone operating system.
However, IMEC has eschewed common short-range wireless standards such as Bluetooth in favour of the so-called nRF24L01+ radio designed by Nordic Semiconductor in Oslo, Norway. "The problem with Bluetooth is that it will increase the power consumption on the sensor side," says Penders. Using the Nordic system, IMEC's sensors can run continuously, transmitting every 100 milliseconds, for up to seven days between recharges – a Bluetooth system would barely last a day, Penders says.
In the current design, the ECG electrodes are connected to a small necklace that contains the transmitter and battery. The next step will be to use an ultra-low-power radio transmitter, still in development at IMEC, to improve the stamina and portability of the sensors.
With around 18 million people in the UK living with chronic disease, "telehealth" monitoring like this is the way things are going, says Mike Knapton, associate medical director at the British Heart Foundation. Devices already exist that allow people with pacemakers and defibrillators to send telemetry from their implants via a landline to doctors. But using mobile phones would be the natural next step, he says.

Today Is 101010: The Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question

Today is October 10, 2010. 10/10/10. In binary, that's 42. And 42 is The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. Or at least, that's what Douglas Adams says.

Many people wonder what Adams exactly meant by 42, the answer given by the supercomputer Deep Thought in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Why did Adams pick that number? Is there a connection to something the world doesn't know about? Is the CIA and the MI6 involved in all this? Real aliens, perhaps?
On November 3, 1993, he gave an answer on alt.fan.douglas-adams:

The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do'. I typed it out. End of story.

Later, talking to BBC Radio 4 Iain Johnstone, he explained that the number was chosen by none other than John Cleese as the punch line for one of his skits. The famed Python thought it was a funny number, and Adams borrowed it for his book, turning it into a recurring integer through all his work.
But that comment wasn't the end of the mystery. Stephen Fry—a friend of Adams—also jumped into the debate, claiming that the latter explained to him why it was 42. Fry will not reveal the secret, but he says it is "fascinating, extraordinary and, when you think hard about it, completely obvious."

Whatever it is, it sure has had a deep impact in geeklore. One example: The Allen Telescope Array—the radio telescopes system erected by Microsoft's Paul Allen for the SETI program—has 42 dishes in honor of Adams. And in Lost, 42 is the last number in the sequence that has to be entered on The Swan's computer, which is also the sequence picked by Hurley for his winning lottery ticket, and Kwon's number in the cave. In a Lostpedia interview, one of the show's producers confirmed that this was indeed a homage to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Google Kembangkan Mobil Kemudi Otomatis

California - Google bikin kejutan dengan mengembangkan teknologi mobil kemudi otomatis. Ya, raksasa internet ini mengumumkan mereka telah menguji coba mobil yang bisa berjalan sendiri di jalanan California, Amerika Serikat.

Dikutip detikINET dari BBC, Minggu (10/10/2010), mobil tersebut dibekali kamera video di bagian atap, sensor radar dan laser untuk mengetahui kondisi lalu lintas di sekitar. Jenis mobil yang dimodifikasi Google adalah Toyota Prius.

Karena masih dalam tahap uji coba, mobil ini tetap memiliki pengemudi yang terlatih. Jadi jika sewaktu-waktu ada masalah dalam kemudi otomatis, si pengemudi bakal mengambil alih kontrol kendaraan.

Google berharap, mobil ini nantinya dapat membantu menekan angka kecelakaan di jalanan. Sejauh ini, sudah 140 ribu mil jarak yang dilaluinya dalam tahap tes, antara lain di jalanan kota San Francisco.

Periset software Google, Sebastian Thrun, menyatakan bahwa keselamatan adalah prioritas utama dalam uji coba ini. Karena itu, rute kendaraan dirancang secara seksama sebelum dilalui oleh mobil itu. Polisi pun turut mengamati kalau-kalau terjadi masalah.

"Kami yakin teknologi ini berpotensi mengurangi kecelakaan hingga separuhnya. Proyek ini memang masih eksperimental, namun menggambarkan akan seperti apa transportasi di masa depan," ucap Thurn. ( fyk / fyk )

Finalis Indonesian Idol Ditangkap Atas Dugaan Pencabulan

Jakarta - Berita mengejutkan dari kalangan selebritas Indonesia kembali muncul. Kepolisian Resor Jakarta Utara menangkap seorang finalis ajang pencari bakat, Indonesian Idol berinisial WSM (21) di sebuah hotel di kawasan Jakarta Utara.

Kasat Reskrim Polres Jakarta Utara Kompol Susatyo Purnomo Condro saat dikonfirmasi mengatakan, WSM diduga melakukan pencabulan terhadap seorang mahasiswi. "Ditangkapnya Minggu, 10 Oktober pukul 02.00 WIB," kata Susatyo saat dihubungi detikcom, Minggu (10/10/2010).

WSM ditangkap setelah melakukan pencabulan terhadap korbannya berinisial AG (19) di sebuah hotel di Jalan RE Martadinata, Jakarta Utara. Dari tersangka WSM, polisi menyita barang bukti berupa baju dan celana pendek milik korban.

Sejumlah saksi telah dimintai keterangan terkait peristiwa tersebut. Sementara korban sendiri telah menjalani visum.

Susatyo mengatakan, hingga kini pihaknya masih melakukan pemeriksaan terhadap tersangka. "Masih diperiksa," katanya.

Build strong bonds, and better sex will follow

It's been well documented that married people have sex more often than single people do. But it's not always great sex. If you're looking to recapture the manic sexual frenzy of your first months together, fuzzy handcuffs and herbal supplements just won't cut it. In fact, you'll probably feel just as stymied as you did before you tried to amp up the action, says Sandra Scantling, Psy.D., a certified sex therapist. "People think lust is a prerequisite for having great sex, but it's just one biological piece of attraction," she cautions. So what will elevate the ecstasy? Simply being up close and personal, in the share-nearly-anything, build-rock-solid-trust sense. "Comfort is the best aphrodisiac," Scantling says. "It's about the lasting experience of connection." Dive into this guide to keeping your physical and emotional bonds strong, and you'll never fear stumbling into a long-term sex rut.

Track the good times
One way to combat the common trap of longterm boredom is to make sure you're always using your baseline affection as a springboard for exploration and adventure. In a recent University of North Carolina study, people who felt that their partners appreciated them expressed more satisfaction with their relationship. "The key is to cultivate a 'beginner's mind' and look at each other from a fresh perspective," Scantling says.

Your move
Make a list of five to 10 qualities you admire most in your partner. Then, each time you notice one of those qualities in her behavior, let her know how much you value it. As she senses your efforts at showing appreciation, she'll likely respond in kind--and both of you will be happier for it. Another strategy: Start using that vast backlog of digital photos you've been taking and collaborate on a photo album. Do it old-school, printed-picture-style, in a way that memorializes the funniest and best times you've had together. Doris Bazzini, Ph.D., of Appalachian State University, found that couples who laughed and reminisced about good times were more likely to feel more satisfied with their relationship.

Become a sculptor
A man who's in a long-term relationship sometimes says of his partner, "She brings out the best in me." That's actually true. In the best relationships, partners support and encourage each other in ways that help both of them become the people they want to be.

Summarizing results from recent studies, Eli Finkel, Ph.D., a psychologist at Northwestern University, concluded that the more each partner promotes the other's ideal self, the better a relationship functions and the happier both partners are. Researchers call this the "Michelangelo phenomenon," because the famed Renaissance sculptor described his artistry as releasing the sculpture residing in a block of stone.

Your move
Map out long-term goals for yourselves. Doing this allows you to help each other without adding unnecessary pressure. (It's remarkably easy to go from gently prodding your unemployed partner to apply for jobs to berating her because she's not taking the exact steps you think she should be taking.) The best way to make sure you're supporting her without coming across as a stage manager, Finkel says, is to spend time once or twice a year going over those goals. That way you can gain a more specific idea of the kind of encouragement your partner actually wants. Try asking straight out, "What's the best way I can help you?" For instance, if she already has a job but secretly harbors dreams of switching her career to nursing, she might appreciate a gentle reminder about registering for night classes or a celebratory dinner when she does well on a big test.

Trick your brain
When you first fall in love, your brain teems with a cocktail of addictive love chemicals. Brain scans of men and women in the throes of new love reveal high activity in the brain's caudate section--the area responsible for cravings--in addition to its ventral tegmental zone, which produces dopamine. That's the same powerful neurotransmitter that floods the brains of people who are high on drugs.

Of course, a drug-fueled high doesn't last forever, and dopamine levels tend to slide once you're deep into a relationship. But another chemical, oxytocin--a pituitary-gland hormone that promotes sexual arousal and bonding and elicits feelings of attachment and security--takes over as the relationship progresses. It continues to be released long after the initial dopamine high has worn off.

Your move
Your goal is to stimulate oxytocin production. That's an incredibly unsexy way of saying "cuddle and have sex as often as possible," because in reality, both activities produce the hormone. It might seem like a backward approach, but having sex can make the romantic side of your relationship sizzle, says Bianca Acevedo, Ph.D., a social neuroscientist at the University of California at Santa Barbara. "The neural circuitry used for sex overlaps with the circuitry for pair bonding," she says. One easy way to carve out more time together is to head to bed half an hour earlier than you normally would. This gives the two of you the chance to focus exclusively on each other with no outside distractions. And invest in TiVo so you're never derailed by the thought of missing your favorite television show. Mad Men can wait!

Spill your guts
The strong, silent stereotype is the last thing you want to embrace when it comes to building a lasting bond with your partner. In fact, improving your communication skills may have the added benefit of boosting your sex life. In a 2008 couples study at Texas A&M University, researchers analyzed each man's willingness to disclose exactly what he was feeling, as well as the empathy he displayed toward his partner while she was talking. Men who scored well in both categories felt greater intimacy with their partners later on-- a feeling that was reciprocated by their grateful mates. "When you see that she treats you well when you are vulnerable, you feel warmer toward her," says Los Angeles psychologist Seth Meyers, Psy.D., the author of Dr. Seth's Love Prescription. "In turn, when she knows that you trust her enough to be vulnerable around her, she feels more connected to you."

Your move
Every day, start at least one conversation with your partner about a topic that interests both of you. It can be about anything, from Stephen Colbert's latest hilarious sketch to your desire to travel the world with her someday. Don't think of this as a duty but as a way of enjoying the time you spend with her even more. "Do your best to make it fun. And don't force the communication--it will flow organically if your priority is to make each other feel tended to and comfortable," Meyers says. If you can't think of anything to chat about right off the bat, he suggests finding a couples quiz in a magazine or online, and taking it together as you watch television or eat dinner. "The point is to find vehicles to start the two of you talking."

If you're looking for ways to make more money at work, you have a few things to keep in mind. Remember that work is a value proposition: companies pay you for your work because you create value. They purchase work that's valuable to them in the same way they purchase supplies, and part of that process is deciding how much they value the various inputs they purchase for their business. So, using the law of supply and demand, you can see there are a few key ways to make more money. You can become more valuable, producing more work or work that's rare/valuable, or find other ways to raise your employer's demand for what you do.

1: Ask for it

If you're worth more than you're currently being paid, ask for it. If the company agrees with your assessment, you can often secure more money immediately. There is definite tact required in asking for a raise, and you should read up on the process before trying this one. Furthermore, timing is a huge factor, so you should learn the best way to go about asking. Despite all that, many men have started earning more simply because they asked for it.

2: Work late

Studies show that people who work 45 hours a week earn 44% more than those who work 40. Start building that sweat equity; if you're dropping your pencil at 5:00, you're leaving money on the table. Don't just put in mindless hours, however, because the true measure isn't the number of hours you man your desk, but the work that you do. Focus on creating valuable overtime work. If anything, it's easier outside of normal business hours, since the phones stop ringing and you're less likely to be interrupted.

3: Learn to negotiate

Any time you receive a promotion, take a job offer from a new company or just rework your current compensation, you're in a negotiation. Getting to know others’ needs and wants, as well as their interests and passions, will give you a group of people with whom you can work and grow. If people in your network are excellent at what they do, refer them to as much business as you can. The good you do for other people is its own reward, but a strong network will help you for your entire life, often in surprising ways. You don't have to believe in karma, but social karma is the law of the jungle.

8: Change companies

The way to get a truly large pay increase is to change companies. A worker who's hired away to another company is enticed to switch by offers like a bigger office, better working conditions and more money. If you've proven yourself and you have a good name in your industry, you may even find that offers come looking for you. And don't discount the idea that your current employer will counter-offer to get you to stay -- it happens more than you think. Just don't jump ship too often; when your resume shows a history of short employment it looks like you don't invest yourself in your job, aren't reliable, never happy, or don't know what you want.

9: Go back to school

Education is a crucial factor in earning potential, with college graduates earning an average $1 million more over the course of their careers than those without a degree. So a good degree from a known university is a giant head start in a career. If you didn't earn your degree, consider going back to school, at least a few courses at a time. And even if you have your degree, you can pursue a graduate degree or obtain a specialized certification in your field. Either way, devoting your evenings and weekends to increasing your education will gain you new abilities while opening the door to higher wages.

10: Do great work

This is obvious but powerful. All the negotiating, networking and personal branding in the world won't help you if your work is crap. If you spend half your day cruising YouTube or chatting with coworkers, you aren't delivering. If you are trying your hardest but still struggle, read up on ways to organize your work, prioritize and accomplish what's most important. Volunteer for the tough assignments, and find ways to help your company and make your bosses look like superstars. Develop a reputation for great work and develop the know-how to back it up. A common reason single men cite for why a woman chooses one man over another is because he has “the cash.” This idea limits all kinds of things about yourself -- if you believe it. If women do really choose men because of the size of their bank account (i.e., this has nothing to do with you personally), shouldn’t you be thankful and not upset about it? Why would anyone want to date someone who solely relies on materialistic possessions? And how long do you think that relationship will last?

Something interesting to consider is the notion that the more cash you spend on her the less likely the relationship will continue. Consider the possibility that a woman will actually go out with you because her belly is empty, she's bored or nothing was on TV that night. The worst is hearing when a girl is just “passing time” on you until another (read: better) guy comes along. Yes, gentleman, there are women out there like this. Take it upon yourself to read the bottom-line factor. You’ll save yourself time and money.

What doesn’t involve money?

The zoo, the park, a picnic, a long walk by a body of water, coffee, working on an artistic project together -- the ideas here are limitless. Take her to a dinner and movie and she’ll remember you as fondly as every other dude who’s done the same. Taking the time and being creative, however, shows your uniqueness. Separation (from the competition) is welcome.

Drinking and dating

How many drinks do you buy her? If you are meeting at the dive bar for the first time, none. Yes, none. Don’t buy her any drinks. In fact, Mr. Nice Guy, why don’t you be a challenge for once (unlike the other dudes offering their life savings for her) and get her to buy you a drink! Again, different is welcome.

Just look at her and say: “So are you going to buy me a drink or not.” Be dry, playful and witty. Come off as an ass and you’ll miss the intended outcome.

Buying her things is manipulation

When the rich guy is being overly generous with his dollar, in a sense, he realizes that he is saying to his partner: "I’m not good enough for you so I will use monetary resources to compensate." Key word: compensate.

Someone who is confident (like someone who can offer to go to zoos and look at animals all day) doesn’t need to manipulate women into liking him. They have qualities strong enough to hold ground.

what money doesn’t buy

Women do date for materialistic possessions. In the end, it’s up to you to decide if you want to date a professional dater. As the nice guy, if you happen to be rich, be honest with yourself on reading the reality factor. Do not believe that by spending more money she’ll stay around longer. She might. But unlike copious amounts of material possessions, intelligence and confidence cannot be stolen from you.

Anyone Can Have A Digitally Enhanced Body Now

If you dislike the way you look on video, a new kind of image-manipulation software could make you feel better about yourself.
Developed by Christian Theobalt of the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany, and colleagues, it allows professional and amateur movie-makers to dramatically alter how muscular, leggy or heavy people appear on film. Until now this could only be done by laborious frame-by-frame retouching.
Theobalt's team began by generating 3D scans of 120 men and women of varying size and shape in a range of poses. By merging the scans, they were able to create a single model that could be morphed from any body shape or pose to any other.

Turning to the video sequence containing the actor whose shape they wish to manipulate, the team uses a mix of off-the-shelf and bespoke software to track the actor's silhouette through the scene. The software then maps the silhouette onto the morphable model, and tweaks it to generate the required height, weight, leg length or muscularity.
The technology has obvious applications in films like Raging Bull, for which Robert de Niro put on 27 kilograms in two months to portray his character. "The actor wouldn't need to go to all that trouble," says Theobalt.
Cultural preference
It could also be a cost-saver for advertising companies. Because standards of beauty vary across cultures, it is the norm to shoot several adverts for a single product. With the new software, firms could make one film and tweak the model's dimensions to suit different countries.
Although the results are realistic, extreme alterations slightly distort a film's background. To found out whether this is distracting, Theobalt's team asked 15 people to view an unaltered video while 15 others watched a version in which the actor's body shape had been tweaked. There was no significant difference between the number of distortions the two groups reported, suggesting that this distortion will not unduly worry audiences.
Daniel Cohen-Or of the School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, Israel, is developing a similar technique that alters the appearance of people in photographs. He is impressed by Theobalt's software, but notes that it may not always be applicable. "It requires a clear scene, meaning no occlusion or distracting objects," he says.
The work will be unveiled in December at the computer graphics conference Siggraph Asia in Seoul, South Korea.

VIVAnews - Penanggalan Minggu besok cukup unik. Tanggal 10 bulan 10 tahun 2010. Mungkin lantaran keunikan itu, begitu banyak pasangan yang menikah. Suku Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Jakarta Pusat (Sudin Dukcapil Jakpus) bahkan terpaksa menolak pencatatan sejumlah pernikahan lantaran petugas sangat terbatas.
Kepala Sudin Dukcapil Jakarta Pusat, H Mochammad Hatta mengatakan bahwa warga masyarakat yang menikah pada tanggal "keramat" itu sangat banyak. Mereka datang dari banyak agama. Jumlah warga non muslim, 25 pasangan.

Hatta menegaska bahwa "Tidak mungkin mencatatkan pernikahan dalam waktu bersamaan dengan jumlah yang banyak. Proses pencatatan akta nikah tidak cukup waktu lima menit, karena harus melalui tanya jawab dan pemberkasan," ujarnya Hatta, Sabtu 9 Oktober 2010.

Hal yang sama juga dialami sejumlah Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA) di wilayah Jakarta Pusat yang melayani pasangan pernikahan beragama islam. Salah satunya di kantor KUA Kecamatan Senen yang mencatat warga yang akan menikah pada waktu tersebut mencapai 15 pasangan.

Bisa dibayangkan jika delapan kantor KUA yang terdapat di Jakarta Pusat mengalami lonjakan seperti ini, maka dapat dipastikan betapa sibuknya petugas KUA melayani puluhan hingga ratusan calon pengantin yang hendak menikah di tanggal tersebut.

Uniknya lagi, para calon mempelai juga mencocokkan jumlah mahar dengan waktu pernikahan unik ini. "Ada yang mas kawinnya sebesar Rp 10.102.010,” ujar Kepala KUA, Hairuddin Hasibuan.

Sementara itu, seorang calon pengantin mengaku memilih tanggal tersebutsemata-mata karena tanggal itu unik.

Marini tidak mengerti kenapa anaknya bertingkah aneh malam itu, terus-terusan rewel. "Rasanya dia tidak sakit apa-apa." Sudah tiga dokter yang dia temui, semuanya menunjukkan gejala kecanduan yang akut. Tapi kecanduan apa, anaknya belum bisa bicara, bagaimana dia bisa cari tahu?

Sampai akhirnya dia menemukan berita mengenai kandungan berlebihan hidroxylic acid (atau nama resminya dalam format IUPAC adalah hidrogen monoksida) di dalam Teh Botol Sosr* dari internet. Ia langsung ingat, anaknya tadi siang baru saja menghabiskan tiga botol teh yang dibungkus dalam berbagai kemasan dan merk ini. Celaka!

Ya, selama ini orang menganggap Teh Botol Sosr* dibuat dari daun teh alami seperti yang diiklankan. Nyatanya itu semua bohong, daun teh hanyalah sebagian kecil dari bahan utama. Hidroxylic acid lah yang bertahun-tahun telah dipakai sebagai bahan utama teh botol sosr*, sehingga menyebabkan teh ini terasa lebih enak daripada merk-merk lain.

Menurut Scientist dari seluruh Universitas terkenal di Amerika sepakat, tanpa kita sadari hydroxylic acid sudah menguasai industri makanan. Dengan adanya hydroxylic acid, rasa pahit yang sering muncul bila kita memakai pemanis buatan bisa hilang tidak bersisa. Nyaris tidak ada makanan dan minuman olahan yang tidak disentuh bahan ini. Dalam batasan wajar memang bisa berguna bagi tubuh kita, dan tubuh kita punya mekanisme untuk menetralisir kelebihan zat ini. Namun begitu melebihi ambang batas, tidak ada satupun manusia yang bisa selamat.

Gejala kelebihan hydroxylic acid meliputi pusing, diare, pecahnya sel-sel tubuh (plasmolisis) , bahkan jika konsentrasinya di dalam tubuh naik signifikan, bisa menyebabkan rusaknya sel batang otak (neurolisis) dan kematian mendadak. Hal ini telah memusingkan banyak petugas medis di dunia. "Sedetik saja gejala kelebihan ini terlambat ditangani, nyawa pasien melayang," jawab Dr. Priyadi Handoko, ahli kesehatan dari IKDN. Kalau sudah begini, pengobatannya bisa sampai jutaan rupiah. Lalu mampukah orang-orang seperti Marini menyembuhkan anaknya?

Yang membuat masalah ini jadi runyam adalah tidak adanya regulasi pemerintah tentang penggunaan hydroxylic acid dalam industri. Pemakaiannya tercampur baur. Data menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar industri berbahaya memakai Hydroxylic acid. Reaktor nuklir, pabrik pupuk, pewarna tekstil, semua memakai bahan yang termasuk kategori senyawa kuat ini dalam konsentrasi tinggi.

Bahkan beberapa tahun belakangan hydroxylic acid juga dipakai sebagai agen reaktif dalam pengangkatan minyak bumi. Dengan bantuan hydroxylic acid, sumur-sumur tua bisa kembali berproduksi.

Saat dihubungi, Humas PT Sosr* tidak berkomentar banyak. "Kami sudah menggunakannya secara bertanggung jawab. Seluruh lini produk Teh Botol Sosr* sudah lewat pengawasan badan POM". Masalahnya, berapa kadar hydroxylic acid dalam makanan yang bisa dianggap bertanggung jawab? Kenapa selama ini terkesan ditutup-tutupi dari sorotan publik? Saat pertanyaan itu diajukan, "Brak!", telepon dibanting.

Hydroxylic acid adalah simbol keangkuhan industri besar makanan. Penggunaannya tidak melalui transparansi yang jelas. Bahkan bahayanya tidak pernah diumumkan ke masyarakat.. Tutup matanya pemerintah terhadap isu ini wajar jika menimbulkan kecurigaan, berapa besar dana gelap yang sudah mengalir untuk menyembunyikan bau busuk isu hydroxylic acid? Merk apa saja yang sudah nekat memakai hydroxylic acid demi mendapatkan keuntungan besar?

Kini anak Marini masih tergolek di tempat tidur dengan menangis. Marini bingung, apa yang harus dilakukan sekarang. Untuk mengobati kecanduan anaknya, dia tidak punya biaya.

Desainnya sangat futuristik dengan guratan garis lurus membuat Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept terlihat sangat tegas.

Rangka kendaraan menggunakan serat karbon yang memiliki kekuatan melebihi baja, namun ringan. Teknologi ini dikembangkan bersama Callaway Golf.

Sesto Elemento menggunakan mesin V-10 5,7 liter yang bisa menghasilkan tenaga 570 tenaga kuda (hp). Dengan tenaga besar dan rangka yang ringan membuat Sesto Elemento bisa dipacu 0-100 km per jam dalam hitungan 2,5 detik. Genius dan brutal, begitu mobil ini disebut.

Jaguar C-X75 Concept didukung kombinasi dari empat motor listrik yang bisa menghasilkan 195 tenaga kuda pada setiap roda. Kekutan ini dipadu dengan dua turbin mikro-gas yang dapat mengisi baterai. C-X75 Bisa melaju dengan kecepatan 330 km per jam dan bisa menempuh 900 km tanpa mengisi bahan bakar.

Mobil masa depan ini bisa menyesuaikan pengemudi dengan hanya satu sentuhan tombol. Setir, pedal, dan kontrol kemudi, semua menyesuaikan.

Karma menggunakan Q-Drive plug-in hibrida. Mesin listrik Karma dikombinasikan dengan mesin 2.0-L Ecotec Turbocharged yang bisa menghasilkan 204 tenaga kuda. Sehingga total daya kedua mesin ini 408 tenaga kuda.

Mesin listrik hanya mampu berjalan dalam jarak 80 km, sedangkan bila digabungkan mencapai 200 km per jam dengan jarak tempuh maksimal tanpa mengisi bahan bakar 482 km.

Fisker berambisi menjual 100 ribu unit dalam setahun. Rencananya mobil hibrida Karma akan mulai diproduksi pada Februari 2011.

BMW 6 Series Coupe Concept

Mereka menyebutnya mobil konsep, tetapi Seri 6 Coupe yang ditampilkan di Paris Auto Show 2010 akan di produksi segera. Setelah Seri 5 dan 7 Seri diproduksi terlebih dulu, kini giliran Seri 6 dengan versi yang lebih mewah.

Menampilkan lampu LED, kisi-kisi depan-miring, dan krom pada sekitar jendela samping, yang agar tampilan lebih elegan.

Perubahan lain Seri 6 akan menggunakan transmisi otomatis baru 8-kecepatan. Menggunakan mesin turbocharged 3.0-liter enam silinder sebaris, bisa menghasilkan tenaga 300 hp.

Diilhami mobil-mobil F1, Elite memiliki tombol "push to pass" yang memungkinkan pengemudi meningkatkan kecepatan dalam waktu singkat.
