Ok, so a few weeks ago I was having my dinner in KFC and suddenly some thoughts came to my mind. So I decided to put them into my Facebook "About Me" column. Previously I put "Has found the important things in life".. What the heck is that? I mean that doesn't describe anything about me at all right? Nonetheless, I have found out what are the important things in life for me. I'll write about that some other day...Erm, maybe like about a year from now? haha...

The reason being why it's hard for me to fill up that particular column is that I have a hard time writing about myself.. Even if you check my blogger profile you'll see that it's just one sentence. That's all. Maybe I'm too lazy to think? hmmmm...maybe...but I feel uncomfortable writing about myself most of the time, and that's why there are so few updates on my blog too I guess. I prefer to keep my emotions to myself.. but I do find it enjoying reading stuff about others, that's why I like blog hopping =D

Anyway, about the thoughts that I had in KFC that particular night, I'm gonna share it here. It's not really about describing myself, it's just things that I believe in and how I live my life.. Just to share =)

- We should be ourselves and accept others for who they are
- We are who we are because of the choices we make, not because of what others made us to be
- True beauty comes from within
- It is not about how you look, it is about self-confidence and how you bring it out
- Religion is a very important element in my life
- Everyone deserves a second chance
- People can change if they really want to
- Everyone is special in their own way
- It is our imperfections that make us special
- No matter how busy you are, always make time for your family, friends, and yourself
- Work hard, play harder
- Always look at the positive side of things
- Things happen for a reason
- Don't take things for granted

Wow, it's been a year since I've posted on my blog. Is it time to get it going on again? Hmmm...I'm not sure...We'll see...in the mean time, I have something to share with you. It's a note which was posted by my friend in Facebook which I found to be very meaningful and true. Hope you'll like it too.

All About Love

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel, and then regret it.

2. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

3. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, and the romance in a relationship -- and find out that you still care for that person.

4. A sad thing in life is, you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be , and you just have to let go.

5. When the door of happiness closes, another opens. But often times we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

My Wisdom...Could it be gone?

Had my two of my wisdom teeth removed on Friday. It has been bothering me for 3 years now. The right bottom one was actually growing but couldn't grow out completely, so it was kinda painful for the past two years. Then suddenly it wasn't so painful anymore since it found space to grow out but it was way off tracked from where it was suppose to grow, so I had to go to the dentist. Both upper and lower had to be removed because if not, the upper tooth would cause pain to the bottom wound. It was a bit painful when the needle was stuck several times into my gum for the anesthetic. After that I felt nothing but the most painful part of it all was when I was paying for the bill. I was like..Wtf??? How could be pulling just two teeth cost so much. You wouldn't believe how much it cost. It was RM1010...OMG..when I told my mum she was totally shocked too.. but apparently the doctor explained it was because my teeth had to be surgically removed that's why it cost so much.

I still have two more to remove on the left side in two more weeks time. This time will be more complicated because as you can see from the X-ray below the teeth is like rotated or something. Weird how it can turn till like that. According to the doctor there would have to be an operation to cut the flesh to get the tooth out. Ouch.

The Man with Great Vision

Today we had Dato Tony Fernandes, the CEO of Air Asia to come to our faculty to give a talk entitled “Surviving a Downturn”. He even bought Jason Lo along. It was really entertaining listening to the Dato as he cracked a lot of jokes. The hall was full and we even had to stand. Usually, we’d be making noises during talks and stuff, but you know, you’d really pay attention when someone like him is speaking in front. He talked about how he first got the idea to start Air Asia, how he worked towards it, and how he managed Air Asia and made it as it is today.

He’s really a man with vision and I admire him for that. He sees the bigger picture and he’d think of all those things that others wouldn’t. He goes down into the field, carry bags, check in and do those things most CEOs would not. He would seek opportunity in times when people back out. Boy, I wish I had a brain like him.

I had a discussion with some of my friends today and we all agreed that studying has limited our creativity. We focused too much in our studies, our textbooks and exams. We study just for the sake of our exams, or at least most of us do. And we’ve became so caught up in our studies that we don’t know what’s happening outside our walls. Ask us anything about what’s in our books or in the uni, we’d probably be able to answer you, but if you ask us about the recent headlines, we’d be completely blanked.

If we didn’t have to worry about our studies so much, we’d probably had more time to think, to dream, and that’s what’s important. To be able to dream, because dreams do become reality. That’s how Dato Tony Fernandes started it all. So does this mean we should all stop school and day dream? Probably not. Maybe the schooling system in our country needs to be revised. We need more practicality. We need more than just thousands of words on few hundred pieces of paper. We need passion.

Movies Movies Movies

I've been to a lot of movies recently. This has become my favorite past time eventhough I don't really have much time to past, and not to mention the money I've spent on it. Grrr.. Nonetheless, it was worth it for some, others a disappointment. But still, I love watching movies, just to know how the story goes, is it a good movie? So here are my opinions on the movies I've been to again. You can read it or ignore it, and go watch it or not watch it. As you like, the choice is yours. Besides, we may not have the same opinions. Here it is starting from the most recent one:

(1) Tsunami at Haeundae - It had a good story line. Beginning quite boring actually, not much action, just talking..bla bla bla...it got better in the middle when the Tsunami came, finally! Although the effects weren't so good or shall I say the software they use is out dated already, but bravo for trying Korea! Some parts were really touching. Overall, I kinda like it and I give this movie 3.5 out of 5.

(2) Where Got Ghost - I find this movie quite ok eventhough I've heard some less than good comments before watching it. It was kinda funny, not funniest, but still, funny. Effects were kinda fake as well, but can't complain much, it's an Asian movie, and we're still behind, but not too far. I like the fact that they included some moral values in it. My rating for this movie is 3.25 out of 5.

(3) Gamer - Not bad at all. Instead of watching The Ugly Truth (another movie with Gerard Butler), we opted for Gamer. Lots of actions (I like action movies), but sometimes I get confused who is who when there's a battle. All you see is people dying but you don't know which is the good guy and which is not. And the problem with watching in the cinema is that some scenes are cut when there's explicit contents. For this, too many cause this movie has got a lot of those xxx scenes. Lol. I would recommend this movie. 4 out of 5.

(4) Final Destination 4 - Was anticipating to watch this movie. But after watching it, felt a ping of disappointment. Not up to my expectations. I thought the previous ones were better. And the effects were unreal as well for an American film. And there were flaws in the story line too. But I'm not gonna complain much. So I give it 3 out of 5 then.

(5) Kung Fu Cyborg - Don't watch this movie, it's stupid. This is hard but I think I'll give it 1.5 out of 5.

(2) Accident

Here and there

Once again I've left my blog unattended for quite sometime. Sorry bout that especially to me readers (if I have any). Have been really busy nowadays. Once again a holiday does not feel like one at all.. Although I've been traveling around these few days, but work still keep bugging me.

Let's see, last Thursday I went up to Genting to meet up with my mum. God knows how many times I've been up there this month alone. My aunt rented the suite room. I don't know how much it cost, but it was damn gorgeous. Show you some pictures afterward.

The next day we went to Singapore for my mum's business trip. Sort of. Went to this new Multi-Level-Marketing thingy called Grand Royale International. Seems to be very promising. You can check it out here.

What else? My uncle thought me how to gain the 'Qi' (energy) from around you by meditating. The best time to do this is 3am on every 1st and 15th day in the Chinese Calendar. Zzzz... but very interesting. Felt on fire the next day even though slept for only few hours. What's more, I managed to grab a handsome lucky draw that day too. Guess this energy thing really works. The most important thing about my trip to Singapore is that I managed to get back in touch with one of my close relatives there. "Other things may change us, but we start and end with family". And my aunt Doris treated us to some delicious meals around Singapore. Many thanks to her.

Right after I got back from Singapore on Sunday night, I was on the road again to the Historical City of Melaka with my friends. It was an unplanned trip so it cost us a lot. We did not know the way around so we ended up driving round and round the city for places we cannot find. The hotel room was expensive too since it was public holiday. Luckily we did managed to go to Jonker Street and eat the infamous Chicken Rice Ball. Lesson learned: always plan your trips before going.

Was up in Genting for the Independence Day countdown yesterday. Descriptions:

Beautiful fireworks
Missed out on all the performances - I had no idea what was happening actually cause I was so far from the stage and the sound system was really lousy
Human jam, car jam, jam, jam, jam!

Malaysia is still far from perfect and we must admit that most of us still have the mentality of an underdeveloped country, which is really sad. But we are improving and someday, we will make it there.

This may sound mushy, but I do love this country of mine very much. This is where I was born and raised, and the country has given a lot to me. We may not even be close to the best, but we are so much better than some of the rest. So, Happy Birthday Malaysia!

A Must Watch

So I went to the movies again on Friday with my friends. We watched Orphan and I must say, it was a great movie! Who would have expected a story about adopting a child could turn out to be so intriguing, chilling and thrilling. The story started off slow but became more panicking as it went on. It has a brilliant story line and ooh, I bet you can't guess what Esther's secret is until you've watched the movie for yourself. Unless, of course, your friend tells you what it is. It's a sick movie and I would definitely recommend you to watch it.

The poster looks boring I know, bad marketing tool. But again, it's a brilliant movie. Worth every penny to watch it..so what are you waiting for?

They say you learn a lot in your university life, and I absolutely agree on that. I've learned a lot so far. And one the things that I've learned is How to Play Mahjong. My friends taught me how to play it and although I'm literally Chinese blind, but it's actually quite easy to learn, not to mention addictive. It started when one of my friends bought a set of miniature Mahjong. They're so cute! So ya, we started playing it a few months back during our free time, or not so free time actually. We would rather play it than do our tutorials or assignments. Nonetheless, possessing this skill can really be beneficial, such as:

Providing a platform for socializing especially during festive seasons such as Chinese New Year
An effective way to earn money
Training your critical thinking skill
Improving your Chinese
A good way to relax, release pressure and pass your free time

Chilling Out

I've been going out a lot with my friends lately. Movies, drinks, outing... It helps me keep my mind off things. Except for my wallet, which is currently bleeding to death. So here's another two movies I've watched for the passed 2 days:

(1) On His Majesty's Secret Service (009): Very very funny movie..although most of it doesn't make any sense, but I had a good laugh.

(2) The Screen at Kamchanod: Do not watch this movie. Do not! The story line is so not understandable. The whole cinema went like "What the heck?!" when the movie finished. Lol. Wasted my money to watch this piece of crap.

Last night we went to 1 of the hot spot for Uni students around here to hang out, which is Station 1 Cafe in Jaya One. Quite a nice place. Free WiFi, singing performances on Saturdays and delicious F&B, although the price is a little bit above average.

OMG...sem break's almost over but I still haven't gotten anything done yet. In fact, I din feel like I had a holiday at all. Spent two days doing Charity Car Wash. It was damn tiring but it was fun at the same time and for a worthy cause. and I got so dark my hairstylist couldn't even recognize me when I went to the saloon.

The shampoo girl said: Why do you look so different? Did you get dark or something?"

Grrrrr...shitzzz...I'm gonna be a vampire these few days. The sun is my biggest enemy. Nevertheless, it was worth it cause happy to say we made a fortune during the car wash =D

And then for the passed 2 days I had to wake up early to do telemarketing for my Accounting Camp Project. Hopefully everything works out fine. and I pray to God I'll get lotsa lotsa sleep for these remaining few days. Cause after that it's gonna be hell for me again. and I practically look like a vampire now - a dark vampire that is, with heavy eye bags.

Assignments? I didn't even know I had them until yesterday...arghhh...haven't started any yet. and tutorials + mid sem tests too. God help me.

Oh ya, watched some movies lately:
(1) The Proposal: nice and funny. and ooh Ryan Reynolds! arrrrrr
(2) Ghost of Girlfriend's Past: Quite ok, but I felt The Proposal was better
(3) G.I. Joe: Damn good movie although some parts are kinda fake and exaggerated. Seriously, can there really be such thing? and the love story...hmmm
(4) Overheard: not bad, and I liked the story line

Looking forward to watch Orphan and The Screen at Kamchanod next. Unfortunately my friends aren't so keen to watch horror movies.hmmm....

Dead and Alive Again

Hey, it’s been a long time since I’ve updated my blog. Waaaay too long. Been really busy lately, and even if I’m not, just couldn’t find that inspiration to write anything. I would spend my time lazing around, or even when I’m inspired, it’s all at the wrong timing, either I’m about to go to sleep or my computer is not with me. The next time I’m available to write, I’ll be in no mood to write mode.

But today I went to this talk; it was about insurance, quite inspiring I must say. A young man gave his talk, he is only 28, but he’s earning more than 20k a month, married, enjoying a wonderful life and traveling around the world. He managed to achieve all this in just 6 years. He made me think, what my goal in life is, and I realized I don’t have one. I just go with the flow, hoping someday it will take me to somewhere I can succeed. Apparently, he mentioned that one of the reasons that people do not succeed is because they do not have a goal. So I guess I’ve got to set my aim, what do I really want in life? I wish I can be like him someday; young, happy and wealthy. He also mentioned this quote that I find quite meaningful:

“We can give our selves 1000 excuses to not do something,
but all we need is 1 simple reason if we want to succeed”

Based on the figures he gave, the insurance industry is probably the easiest way to get everything you want, besides doing business. But to do business you're gonna need a start up capital as well as risks, and you'll need at least a few years to get your returns, unless you're some kind of genius like the founder of Facebook. For insurance however, you don't need any capital to start with, just a few hundred dollars to take the tests, the return is fast and the pay is really good, provided you work hard and have a really thick face. Of course, it'll all be worth it in the end. Although insurance isn’t exactly my thing, but I’ll put it into consideration.

My Lullaby

I know it's slow and frequently late, it's usually crowded and more often than not, you'd hear about pick pockets and theft. But who can blame it, it's old and longer than others, it's the train that offers the widest coverage of locations in Malaysia, including intercity and international destinations. Plus, the ticket price is waaaay cheaper than the others. Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM).

Sometimes I have trouble sleeping. I think I have minor Insomnia. I wish my bed rocks me like the KTM. It's slow and steady movement would put me to sleep any day. No matter how energetic I am, even after the adequate amount of sleep, I'd get drowsy...sleepy...and fall asleep once I hop into the train, provided I have a seat lar...oh, and did I mention the cushions are comfy? Ya, they are.

I know KTM does not have the best reputation, but I love it cause it takes me to work at half the price and time. If I were to take the others, I'd have to walk a farther distance, double the money and time. And ya, I have time to rest...but have to becareful though, cause I almost missed my station due to sleeping...

I must admit I regretted buying my Sony Ericsson C905 when I saw the new phone SE's gonna release by the end of this year (picture above). Currently, it's concept name is Idou. whatever that means. It has a 12.1-megapixel camera. wtf? I feel like killing SE. Grrr... Should have waited for this one instead...not that I don't like my phone, the 8.1mp camera is great and everything, but the keypad is going nuts. My advice - buy the original phone people, although it's more expensive, at least you won't have to go through all the problems like the AP ones...but if you constantly change your hp, then you can go for AP, since it won't make much difference anyway.

Manila Trip

Okay, I'm finally here to update about my trip to Manila during Christmas. Honestly, Manila isn't exactly the perfect place for a 'dream vacation', but it's definitely an eye opener. It doesn't have the best scenery nor the best food or even the best shopping malls, but I'm definitely glad I've been there to see it for myself.

It could have been both the worse and best time to be there, during Christmas I mean. Christmas is a huge celebration in the Philippines, might I say the largest, since 90% of the population are Christians. Everybody comes out during Christmas time, causing massive human jam. The total population is 20 million in Manila alone, so it's like all the ants coming out to feast during that time. It's kind of hard to visit places when there are too many people and uncomfortable shopping when you're bumping into people most of the time. The best part about Christmas there is that it's such a big celebration that they put up all these beautiful decorations and all the big Christmas trees that it lights up the whole city. It's overwhelming to celebrate Christmas there.

The Filipinos are extremely polite people as well. Courtesy is very important to them. There must be a "Ma'am" or "Sir" in every phrase they say. I love the warmth the people there make me feel. I've also learned some Filipino language: "O-po" means "Yes" for higher ranked or respected people while "O-o" goes for people with the same rank. That's all I've learned from my visit there..LOL

While the rich is getting richer, the poor is getting poorer. Riches would have huge homes and would even build houses as graveyards for the dead, play Mahjong and have parties there. The poor on the other hand, would beg and sleep on the roadside. It's a sad thing really, but that's how it is there.

There are a lot of unique things in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I could not visit all since I was there for only a few days. Things I managed to do was:

- A horse ride to see the world's smallest volcano
- Watch the lady's show where everything came off - let your imagination run wild
- Watch the Transvestites show - Fuhh, were they gorgeous (you'll see what I mean)
- Spa (very nice and soothing)
- Shopping (a lot of shopping malls there, including South East Asia's largest)

Oh ya, a tip if you're planning on going to Manila,be prepared for heavy tipping. Everyone expects a tip or two there. It's a necessity to them since their wages are not high, they rely a lot on tips.

I think Manila is a wonderful place to go to. The warmth of the people there, the historical monuments which makes you ponder for a while and especially - the eye opening experience

Well, I celebrated my New Year this year by going out with a few friends and counting down at The Curve. There were so many places to count down but we chose the one safest and easiest to get to.

I read in the news that spray foams are strictly banned this year - so not.. Everyone (including us) were spraying nuts at each other. I even got some in my mouth - yuck.. The fireworks were beautiful and it lasted for so long that my neck started to hurt after staring too long at the sky. Correct me if I'm wrong but they say it's the most beautiful fireworks in the whole of Malaysia.

Okay, here goes my New Year's resolutions:

1. To be a better person
Which includes more patience & kindness, less selfishness & gossip, and other essential things to be a good person. I make this every year but never seem to achieve..hmm

2. To concentrate on my studies and get stunning results
Since I'm quite disappointed with my results last semester, I have vowed to study hard this semester and get the results I want. Less play, less activities, more books! Lol.. and since attendance is part of the continuous assessment, I want to get 100% attendance - by all means, whether it is signed by me or not..hehe

3. Save more money
I have so got to save more money or else I will be really broke next year. I may get a part time job to accommodate my big spending habit.

Okay, it's time for an update.. Been really busy these past few days, flew back from Manila on the 27th and back to KL again on the 29th.. Phew..

Will update on the trip soon.. In the mean time, I saw this last Sunday on my way to One Borneo:

We saw a lot of bystanders, an ambulance and a fire truck.. Curious, we stopped by and join the sakai people.. Lol..

I read it in the news and it happened to be three Taiwanese in car. The driver lost control of the car and it skidded and crashed into the trees.. Luckily, there were no casualties and no serious injuries

Hey people, I'm thinking of changing my template soon..Well, guess I'm gonna have to do it since I noticed the picture of the egg in my template is gone..Is it my computer or it's really gone for good? I'm not sure why..but if you do see it, let me know. Thanks

In the meantime, things might get a little chaotic around here since I suck at these html stuff... and I'm still considering the hundreds of templates out there, apart from finding the un-laziness in me to renovate this site..so soon might not be that soon
