So how many times have you seen someone offer you a
free trial of something or other, but to get started
you need to provide a credit card number, or use your
Paypal account to sign up.

A lot of services or products even ask that you pay
ONLY $1 to start any sort of trial and act as if you
are getting an incredible value.

But what they are really doing is getting your credit
card number or PayPal account locked into their auto
re-billing feature and hiding behind their real motive
simply by telling you that it is for your convenience.

It is a well known fact that many people who offer
products or services are making more money due simply
to people forgetting to cancel these auto re-bills.

Now I'm not in any way speaking for all marketers.
Many do in fact provide great value and are trying to
make things easier, but it is also an overly abused
marketing tactic to make the product or service owner
a lot of extra recurring income.

You see a lot of unethical marketers know that most
of the time you will forget about the trial and a few
months later you will finally notice that you have been
charged XX dollars every month. Guess who makes a pile
of money that way. That's not cool man.

So it is something to watch out for when signing up
to any free trials of anything.

On a total flip side, here's an example of a guy who
has an insanely good free trial offer, but you don't
have to give your credit card or Paypal account up
front. It's just a free trial, because he believe it
works and is not hiding behind anything!

is Ian and he's been an online marketer for over a
decade and claims he will make you money through
affiliate commissions just to prove his service is
worth paying for!

With no credit cards or Paypal account stuff upfront,
I'd say that's a pretty rock solid and safe free trial.

Beware of Gagabux

Gagabux is a fairly new PTC site (online since 2009) but if you are one to join every new PTC site that comes up, it will not be new to you. Gagabux has been called the "Neobux" in addition to comments like "Better than Neobux!" However, it is not better than Neobux for several reasons.

Here are some reasons why clickers like Gagabux:

lots of ads - 15 or more a day for regular standard members
low $2 minimum payout (1st only)
Reach 1st payout quickly (within 2 weeks)

Example
$0.01 per click X 15 ads = $0.15 each day
$2 (minimum payout) / $0.15 daily = 13.333 ~ 14 days = 2 weeks

Low upgrade price - starting at $9
Accepts all countries

Although Gagabux looks very profitable compared to other PTC sites, it is questionable if it is even legit. Payment proofs can be found in several places, however, Gagabux has yet to prove itself as worthy PTC site.

The reasons listed below are why you should watch out for this site.

1. No instant payments.
Unlike Neobux, Gagabux supposedly pays within 5-7 business days after request. I have yet to be paid but requested my payment on May 16, 2010 as you will see in the screenshot. It has almost been a month and no payment.

2. Complaints and Negative Feedback

Neobux is a PTC site.
Online since 2008, Neobux is considered the "best" PTC on the internet. Many new sites are compared to Neobux. There are only 4 clicks a day for standard members so it only takes about 5 minutes to click. Standard members earn $0.01 per click and $0.005 per referral click. Myfreeshares is a site that pays you a percentage of their earnings everyday for according to your shares.
You earn shares by clicking on links daily, referrals, and buying upgrades/referrals at the site. It is free to join and requires signing in every 60 days or so to prevent account deletion. Just sign up, confirm your account, and click a few links. Minimum payment is $10 via Paypal.

SponsoredTweets is a Paid to Tweet site.
Advertisers will pay you to Tweet their ads. It is fairly simply and can be really profitable if you have many followers. Each ad tweeted is worth between $0.50 and up. You can set the minimum amount you want to receive for your tweets. $50 minimum payout via Paypal.

Linkbucks is one of the many link shortening sites.
You shorten your link to a special link with an ad in it and you get paid when people click on your link. $5 minimum payout via Paypal.

BeRuby pays you to use their site.

There are no tool bars or anything you have to download to use their site. AppRebates is a site that pays you for reviews of Appstore apps. These are the apps that work on the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad. You write a review and they check it by verifying your iTunes username (the name you use to review products on iTunes). Most apps are paid, but some are free and others offer bonuses. You can request payout at any time to your Paypal account or request a $10 iTunes gift card. However, you must have a US iTunes account.

So how do you earn at Apprebates?

2. Verify your iTunes account by choosing and submitting your iTunes username

2010 looks to be a great year. With a new year, comes some changes. As this blog has not been updated in while, I will be working on bringing new content as much as possible. Here are my plans for H.E.M.O. Expect to see these features in the upcoming weeks and months, and before the end of the year.

Yes, I know, I've been promising it forever, but it will be here.

-Quality Content
I kind of stopped posting after the summer. Although I will not be able to bring to you content every day or week, when I do post, it will be high-quality and worth reading.

-Different Sites
Almost every blog about making money online is about PTC sites, trying to gain referrals. I will not do this. I will post about PTC sites from time to time, but there are other ways to make money online. Notice the title of this blog is "How to Earn Money Online" and makes no mention to PTC or GPT sites. As such, I will be sure to include a variety of sites.

2009: Year in Review

2009 was another year without anything different. The PTC sites came and went and the paying PTC sites such as Neobux stayed. New people came online looking for money online and old clickers finally gave up, moving on to different things. Sites that people thought were legit turned out to be scam. PTC Site owners sold old PTC sites and built new ones. New PTC sites popped up like weeds, and the masses joined them. A popular bux script was found to be used in many of the new sites and aurora sites, sites that give less than or up to one cent, became more popular and were used with bux scripts. Overall, it was another year of clicking. However, for those who found other sites, such as myLot, Microworkers, Amazon mTurks, Chacha, and more, they found their earnings to be much higher and less boring. So as we head into 2010, I will try to focus more on earning at sites other than PTC and GPT. So look for new sites in the coming weeks!

I realize that I have not been doing such a good job of updating the blog as often as many readers and I would like. This weekend, I was on an expected and unplanned trip that caught me by surprise so I was unable to post anything. This is a public apology that I would like to make for not keeping my word. Things have been hectic and more PTC sites go scam each day, more than I can keep up with.

This blog will (hopefully) undergo some major changes during the summer months so that it is more user-friendly and loads faster. I cannot promise these things, but I can guarantee you will not be disappointed again.

So I decided that an earnings tutorial was unnecessary due to the ease of earning. Here is the FAQ section on the site as it is hard to find. The second question explains very well how to earn credits.

Earning Credits & Paid to Play

Q. Do I really get paid to play games?
A. Yes. We credit you for valid game plays only. Any cheating, naughtiness, or unfair behaviour will not be credited.

Q. Ok, so how does the credit system work?
A. Well, firstly you need to sign up for an account at BTArcade.com. Once you've done this, and have verified your email address, you can immediately start earning credits. A credit is earned for a "valid" game play. Basically, you navigate to any game page, and start playing. You will see a timer below the game counting down from 60 seconds. Once this reaches 0 (obviously after a minute of playing), the timer will change to a "claim credit" button. Click on this, enter the security code, and press enter or click OK. Voila! You have just earned 1 game credit. EASY!

Q. Are there any other ways to earn credits?
A. Yes - we are always running a number of promotions and specials! These are included in the weekly newsletter, and can also be found in the newsletter archives on this forum.

Q. How much are my credits worth?
A. Good question. Basically, the site works by displaying ads to our users, and then paying out a large proportion of that advertising revenue at the end of the month to any users who have credits. We take the total number of credits issued, and work out how much 1 credit is worth. Then we assign that value to your credits for a particular month, which gives you a $ value for your earnings each month.

Q. Is there a limit on how many credits I can earn?
A. No. Currently, we credit you for each and every valid game play. There is no intention to change this in the future.

Q. I have 25 game plays, but only 3 credits. Why?
A. A game play is recorded when you open a game page. You can refresh and refresh all you like, which will increase your "game plays" but not earn you any credits. To receive a credit - you must follow the instructions in the section above entitled "how does the credit system work".

Q. When are credits converted to cash?
A. On the 3rd of each month.

BTArcade is like any other game site but even better; it pays you to play their games! However, it is much like a PTC or PTR sites. You choose a game, the game loads while a timer counts down 40 seconds. You play the game and enter a verification code when the timer is done. In this way you earn "credits" which are then automatically converted to cash at the end of the month. Each credit is worth about an average of $0.004. This value changes daily and is updated as it changes. In addition to playing games, you receive credits for sending traffic to your referral link. You are rewarded if you are in the Top 5 Referrals at the end of the week. The minimum payout is very low at $0.10, which is very easy to reach as I did it in less then a week. They have four payment options, Paypal, E-Gold, Liberty Reserve, and Moneybooker. It takes 24 hours to receive payment.
