Things you need to know before reading this:

3. Manchester United is the most successful English team in the history. Top 2 in the world. I'll give credits to Barcelona (in 1st place)

In my opinion of the Barclays Premier League (BPL) thus far, Manchester United has been performing below expectations. I would not say "below par" as that term usually implies the meaning of "below the standard". Their standard is still high and intact. Heck, no games lost after the 6-1 local derby defeat to the "Noisy Neighbors"? That has to account for something. That is the standard.

But, for fans who watched them transform from the golden generation of Beckham, Scholes, Keane and Giggs era to the Ronaldo and Rooney era, till now, the Nani, Young, Rooney and Hernandez era, I am at least in the position to say that Manchester United is performing slightly below expectations. What I actually expect from Manchester United is to win convincingly and not churn out 1-goal-margin victories.

Obviously, there are a few problems. First and top of the list would be the central midfielder position left by the legendary Paul Scholes. Paul Scholes has been a playmaker and pretty much the brain for Manchester United the past years. In the past years, he would leave the hard tackles to his former central midfield partner-in-crime, Roy Keane, and chart out attacks for the forwards and other teammates. He might not have the hard-tackling nerve Roy Keane has, he may not have the fast dribbling feet Ryan Giggs have, he may not have the free kick talent and pin point passing ability David Beckham has, but he definitely has the brains to plan attacks. Other than that, he is one of the hardest working players on the pitch with a very high work rate. A central midfielder is pretty much the centre of the team in terms of position. Of all the attributes a central midfielder has to have, the most important would be creativity, which is the ability to create chances for other team mates or himself to score.

Ever since the retirement of Paul Scholes, Sir Alex has been on the hunting for someone to fill the gap left by the midfielder. The current crop of central midfielders, in my opinion, do not have the same level of flair and creativity. One stands out slightly more from the rest. Manchester United's very own Tom Cleverly. When I say very own, it means that he is a product of the Manchester United Academy and was not bought from other clubs. Just like legends David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and many more. Tom Cleverly (22 this year) has been phenomenal until his injuries struck him. Started for Manchester United in the notable wins over Tottenham and Arsenal earlier this season.

Another outstanding player is Anderson (23 this year), who is currently injured. The combination of Tom Cleverly and Anderson in the heart of midfield is one of the reasons why Manchester United did not drop points and form until recently. However, both of them, although being in good form for Manchester United, have yet to prove themselves as a playmaker for the team.

Rumors have linked Manchester United to many players to fill the playmaker role. I personally have my favorites and will state my top 4 choices here.

1. Wesley Sneijder

Age: 27 (as of 2011)
Current club: Inter Milan (Italy)
Playing position: Attacking midfielder
Squad number: 10
Country: The Netherlands

One of the most heavily linked player to replace Paul Scholes in Manchester United. His performance in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa was remarkable and at 27 years of age, is one of the most suitable players to fill the gap left by Paul Scholes, with just the right amount of experience in the past and just the right amount of time left for the future. The style and playing technique of The Netherlands' national soccer team is very alike Manchester United. Even the current Netherlands national soccer team coach, Bert Van Marwijk, has said that Wesley Sneijder's move to Manchester United would be one that would benefit him, Manchester United and the Dutch national soccer team.

2. Bastian Schweinsteiger

Age: 27 (as of 2011)
Current club: Bayern Munich (Germany)
Playing position: Midfielder
Squad number: 31
Country: Germany

Was once heavily linked to Manchester United even before Paul Scholes retired, Bastian Schweinsteiger is still one of my favorite central midfielders and has been at the heart of operations of the German national soccer team. Slightly more defensive in nature, but definitely still have the brains and creativity to assist the team in scoring.

3. Mario Gotze

Age: 19
Current club: Borussia Dortmund (Germany)
Playing position: Attacking Midfielder
Squad number: 11
Country: Germany

Claimed by Matthias Sammer, technical director of the German Football Association as "one of the best talents we've ever had", it is no surprise why the scouts in Manchester United placed him top on their "shopping list". Do not be fooled by his age, at 19 years of age, he is already playing in the senior team of the German national squad.

4. Christian Eriksen

Age: 19 (as of 2011)
Current club: Ajax Amsterdam (The Netherlands)
Playing position: Attacking midfielder
Squad number: 8
Country: Denmark

With 2 honors to his name, the Dutch Football Talent of the Year and Danish Football Player of the Year, this Danish player certainly has what it takes to play at the highest level of football. Frequently compared to Danish soccer sibling legends Brian Laudrup and Michael Laudrup.

The midfield department is not the only department that needs new signings. The defense department, what Sir Alex Ferguson hailed as the major factor of his past years success, has been shaky. Phil Jones, who was bought over from Blackburn Rovers has been exceptional. Recently scoring his first Premier League goal for Manchester United, he is one of the most offensive centre back I have ever seen. It is because of this reason, he has been deployed as a midfielder by Sir Alex in a few games.

Traditionally, the defense department comprises of 4 defenders. The 2 centre backs and 2 full backs (right back and left back). The 2 centre backs of Manchester United are currently in their prime age, or should I say, slightly pass their prime. Rio Ferdinand (33 this year) and Nemanja Vidic (30 this year), one of the best centre back defense combination in the world, is already starting to slowly make way to the upcoming ones. Chris Smalling, Johnny Evans and Phil Jones would have to compete for the 2 spots. However, it is still possible to see all 3 of them at the same time in one game as Sir Alex has started to rotate his players in the recent years. Chris Smalling can be deployed as a right back. Johnny Evans has been deployed as a left back in a few occasions whereas Phil Jones can be deployed as a central midfielder and right back if needed. Other defense options at Sir Alex's disposal are the da Silva twins (Rafael and Fabio) as well as Patrice Evra. Rafael and Fabio are both full backs, with Rafael on the right and Fabio on the left. Rafael has been the 1st choice replacement for Gary Neville (retired) until his recent injury woes. On the other hand, Fabio is also seemed to be the replacement for Patrice Evra (30 this year). To make things more perfect, Rafael and Fabio has been deployed as wingers before (Rafael as the right winger and Fabio as the left winger). This versatility makes them even more valuable to Manchester United.

What Manchester United needs now is a new left back. With the centre backs covered by Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Johnny Evans, right back position covered by Rafael da Silva, possibly by Chris Smalling as well as Phil Jones if needed, left back is the only position left for a replacement. There were at times where Ryan Giggs (Yes, the Welsh left-footed winger wizard) was deployed as a left back. With Fabio da Silva the only viable replacement for Patrice Evra, Manchester United need to have another left back in place for worst case scenarios.

Manchester United are rumored to be linked with many left backs. Only have 2 choices in my mind though

Current club: Valencia (Spain)

Playing position: Left back, Left midfielder

Squad number: 17

Country: Spain

Being the upcoming first choice left back for the La Roja (The Red One, nickname of the Spanish National soccer team), it is undoubtedly he is being hunted by the top clubs in the world. With his versatility as a left back and also as a possible left winger, Jordi Alba Ramos would be a very valuable inclusion to the Manchester United squad.

2. Christian Fuchs

Age: 25 (as of 2011)

Current club: Schalke 04 (Germany)

Playing position: Left back

Squad number: 23

Country: Austria

An impressive performer for the Bundesliga club in the summer after being on loan, Christian Fuchs has been attracting interest from European clubs. And Manchester United is one of them.

As a Manchester United fan, I do hope I would be able to see some new signings in the coming transfer window.

SO, I was watched MAMA Awards last night. Held at Singapore's very own Singapore Indoor Stadium. Boy. If I was there, I might actually faint for real. Even through the television, everything seemed awesome. Only 2 possible reasons. Maybe my television enhanced the broadcast. Or, IT REALLY IS AWESOME. Okay. I am not going to pretend like I know what MAMA Awards before last night. So, I did some research. Power of Wikipedia.

MAMA Awards, known also as Mnet Asian Music Awards, has always been held in South Korea itself until last year (2010), where for the first time, it was held in a venue out of South Korea. Macau it was. This year, it came to the heart of South East Asia, Singapore. Did not really catch the opening parts. But it did not really matter, except for the part where Big Bang won the Best Music Video Award through the music video of their song "Love Song".

There really are no cons that I can point out for this year's MAMA Awards. The lighting was awesome. Graphics were very well themed. Well, like every marketing scheme, the program saved the best for last. The 3 Grand Awards, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, were the last awards to be given out on that day.

Well, I was actually rooting for Big Bang to bag the awards in the categories they were nominated in. But I guess the Kpop scene has grown not only in the size of its fan base but also in terms of competitiveness between the artists in the Kpop scene. One cannot be definite to win all 3 or maybe even 2 of the 3 Grand Awards (exception to 2ne1, who were able to do so in the 2010 MAMA Awards by bagging both the Artist of the Year and Album of the Year award)

Okay. Enough of introduction. I'll only write down a few awards that I FEEL ARE MORE IMPORTANT. Haha. SO, THE AWARD GOES TO........

Artist of the Year: Girls' Generation
Album of the Year: Super Junior (Mr. Simple)
Song of the Year: 2ne1 (I Am The Best)
Best Male Group: Super Junior
Best Female Group: Girl's Generation
Best Music Video: Big Bang (Love Song)

The performances were great too (other than the song performed by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg). Performances from Girls' Generation, Beast, 2ne1 and others were nothing less than awesome when coupled with the awesome lighting and stage backdrop. My sister went gaga when Girl's Generation performed their latest hit The Boys. I was amazed when Beast performed their latest single Fiction.

Speaking of Beast, they were nominated for quite a number of awards. But they just couldn't make the cut when the likes of Super Junior, 2PM, 2AM, Big Bang and TVXQ is in contention. A number of notable artists did not attend the MAMA Awards. One being 2PM, who were in Japan for a concert or tour. I was also not able to spot Big Bang.

One thing I noticed is that, as opposed to the award ceremonies of the western world like the Grammy Awards, the Academy Awards and what not, the artists and bands in South Korea are very supportive of each other. When one group wins the award, even the nominated ones would stand up to congratulate them. In a few occasions last night, I saw Super Junior cheering and congratulating Girl's Generation when they won an award. The same happened to Super Junior themselves when they won. This might be the case because they are under the same record label, SM Entertainment. High 5s, hugs, courteous bows and handshakes were always present. They (artists and bands) are like brothers and sisters under one family (record label). It was not as serious as the ones in the western world where only the few people seated around the award winner would stand to congratulate him/her while the others just sit and clapped hands, having the "each man for themselves" mentality. In some instance, artists of the same label would collaborate together to produce music. An example would be G Dragon and T.O.P. of Big Bang who collaborated with Park Bom of 2ne1 (both under YG Entertainment) for the song Oh Yeah.

All in all, it was a good award ceremony to watch. It also showed me what Singapore can do. Everything was top notch and it is definitely on par with the famous stadiums in the world. Okay. Maybe not the Wembley Arena la. But it is getting there. Singapore is definitely the happening spot now and definitely will be for the next few years.

So, I recently made up my mind regarding what axe I would save up for. Oh, when I mean axe, I mean by guitar. Electric guitar to be exact.

If you have seen a recent post, I was considering 2 brands. ESP/LTD or Schecter. 2 models from each brand. Which means 4 models to choose from. 4 singlecut models of both brands. I love singlecut guitars. After a long time of pondering, and weighing my options, I have chosen to play safe in this investment and go for ESP/LTD. In all respect, Schecter is one hell of a brand and it has made their mark in the guitar scene in every way possible. Hats off to them.

A very interesting fact i found out about ESP/LTD and Schecter are that the are owned by the same entrepreneur. A Japanese entrepreneur by the name of Hisatake Shibuya. In fact, Hisatake Shibuya started/founded ESP/LTD. As for Schecter, he bought them over from a group of Texas investors. Other than these 2 guitar brands, he also own Musicians Institute in Hollywood.

The pool of choices that I was choosing from consists of the LTD EC-1000, LTC EC-401, Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 and the Schecter Damien Elite Solo 6. I cut this pool into half by taking Schecter out of consideration. Which leaves me with LTD EC-1000 or the LTC EC-401.

I've decided to go for the LTD EC-1000. To be exact, LTD EC-1000VB (Vintage Black)

So, people might ask WHY THIS ABOVE THE OTHERS!?!?!??!?!?!

Well, firstly, the availability of the guitars. Official distributors of ESP/LTD electric guitars in Malaysia, Guitar Collection Sdn Bhd, actually HAS THE GUITARS THERE AND THEN FOR ME TO TRY OUT. I managed to try both the LTD EC-1000 and the LTD EC-401. However, Schecter distributor in Malaysia, Ultimate Music, DO NOT HAVE THE 2 Schecter models I wanted to try. This puts the Schecter models in the bottom half.

Then people will ask again BUT, YOU CAN BUY FROM SINGAPORE AND SHIP THEM IN WAD RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, those that ask me this stupid question is either a non-musician or a really lousy one or is a hardcore Schecter fan (which I proudly am btw) or a rich spoilt brat or maybe a combination of all of the factors mentioned. As a musician, the equipment CANNOT and SHOULD NOT fail us. Other than being reliable, which both ESP/LTD and Schecter are by all means, the equipment has to also "speak" to us and resonate with us and our style. We have to love playing our instruments. The instruments SHOULD be more than just an instrument to us. It should be like an extension of our arms and hands.

This all boils down to personal touch and also how well the guitar plays TO ME. You can tell me that the 2 Schecter models play as good (or maybe even better) than the LTDs, and the fact is, it might even be true. However, if it does not speak to me or resonate and sync with the way I play, I am going to have to put extra effort in playing. I am might even need to change the style I play guitar slightly just to accomodate the guitar, which will hold me back in my playing. An instrument should get the best out of the musician and vice versa. Not hold it back. What's the point of buying a guitar if I do not like how it plays and I am not comfortable with it?

I've personally tried the 2 LTD models and they play like a dream. Mind you, the LTD EC-1000VB is a Korean made guitar whereas the LTD EC-401 is an Indonesian-made guitar. These are not the USA made models and yet, they play very well.

Then why the EC-1000VB and not the slightly more cheaper EC-401?

Ahh. This comes under the term of quality, a slight little bit of preference and a slight difference in specifications. Like I mentioned above, EC-1000 is the Korean made whereas the EC-401 is the Indonesian made.

Technically, the Korean-made EC-1000 has more attention to detail and also higher grade of wood compared to the Indonesian-made EC-401. I feel "safer" with the Korean-mades. Thus, i'd prefer the Korean-mades. Maybe it is also due to the influence of my current guitar. I currently own a PRS Tremonti SE (without the bird inlays. bummer) which is a Korean-made guitar too. Korean-made guitars are of high quality (slightly behind US-made and Japan-made, above Mexican-made and the rest) and well-known brands like ESP and PRS which have subsidiary guitar factories out of the United States, would keep a close eye and tight quality control on the instruments assembled. PRS SE is a subsidiary to PRS. Just like how LTD is a subsidiary to ESP.

In terms of specs, the fingerboard on the EC-1000 is an Ebony fingerboard whereas the EC-401 spots a Rosewood fingerboard. The EC-1000 has locking tuners whereas the EC-401 has standard tuners (by Grover, which is a good brand). Other than that, the bridge of the EC-1000 is supplied by a well-known maker of guitar parts by the name of Tonepros whereas the EC-401 only has standard bridges made by ESP.

So, I have pretty much a lot of saving to do. LIKE A LOT since this is like number don't-know-how-many on my shopping list. I won't be expecting to get this anytime soon. It's around 5 grand. =/

1. Beats Solo HD by Dr. Dre (coming all the way from US)
2. Gucci belt (long awaited and postponed)
3. Harmon/Kardon Go + Play 2

and a few more not so expensive stuff like
1. Shades
2. New guitar pickups (EMG/Seymour Duncan. Not sure yet)
3. New shoes (Macbeth currently leading the way)

These are a just a fraction of the things between me (my wallet actually) and the LTD EC-1000VB

After a long wait, I've finally got my hands on a very delightful surprise in church today!!!!!!!!!!!

As some people might know, I lent my Blackstar amp to the wedding ceremony of 2 of my good friends. As in, 2 of my good friends got married to each other. Sweet right? Somehow, they forgot to return me my footswitch last week when they returned me my amp. They did not even know it came with a footswitch =.=. But i guess the wedding ceremony did not need the punch and overdrive of channel 2. xD

Thus, I waited for another week. The bride, Ju Ann, is the cousin of Busco's frontman, Samuel Oh. Got to meet him and talk to him in person in the wedding dinner. He loved my amp. He has good taste =) So do I. hahahaha

Today, Darren (the groom of the wedding which I lent my amp to) came to me and.........

Darren: Yea. It's in my car. Haiyo. So gan jiong la you

Bullet For My Valentine. To me, the 2nd best thing thus far to come from Wales (the first goes to Ryan Giggs). Their new album's been slamming. Well, it's not like NEW. But, their latest la k...many songs caught my playlist on the replay button. some were typically angry. but they have great ballads too.

The last fight. This song is mainly about people who thinks that they are the ONLY VICTIMS because they APPEAR to be the only victim when they are not. Also a exclamation saying "THIS IS IT!!!!! THE LAST TIME I WILL FIGHT FOR YOU". An example would be, a drug addict would always think that he is so destroyed. so broken. so pitiful. But has he, or anyone for the matter, thought about the people around him? the ones that were/are close to him? the ones that gave their time, energy and even money to help him. the ones that fought for him. Not many people think about that eh

Many people think that the victims that are hurting directly because of a particular problem are the only victims in the whole scenario. But guess what? That is not true. Family and friends suffer too because of the problem. They suffer not only in financial terms but also in emotional terms and many more. These are also known as collateral damage. Family can be there for you everyday. Friends can fight with you till the death. They all can be there for you till the end. But there is a limit to everything. No matter how big the forest is, if we keep cutting down trees and not replanting them back, the forest IS going to be wiped out.

When you are in trouble, family and friends can be there for you. But if you are the one who push them away, how can they be there for you then?

I've personally been in those 2 parts before. Not a good experience. The direct victim part and also the collateral damage part. I am very thankful that some friends did not let go of me and went through my problems with me. But it is also through these sort of situations, you'd find out who are real friends to you and who will desert you in your lowest point of life. I was also pushed away by many friends before. I tried, but it just did not work. Some of the situations still linger till this very moment. like a thorn. Small but so significantly irritating. All I can do is just try to keep trying i guess

Hey baby. D-day's pretty close huh. I know it's gonna be tougher for us. I'm going to miss you like crap. Honestly, I do not have a clue as to how am I gonna keep myself occupied. Like I am out of ideas or something like that. Right now, I do not even know how I feel. It's all mashed up. I don't even feel like doing this post with paragraphs. So, yea. People said I'll be fine. Even your best friends said I'll be fine. But, honestly, how do they even know that I'll be fine? I myself don't even know. I know a few things for certain though. Like, my guitars might get more attention now? My phone's battery might last longer? The time I spend with my laptop would be like double or maybe more? I dunno. I really don't know. I never tried this baby. Remember when we got together in form 5? A lot of people said we would not last. Doubts were more than faith. Even I doubted at times. But look at us now. Almost hitting 3 years without a break up. That's a feat that stunned many I believe. We went through a number of transitions. But this upcoming one's the biggest by far eh. I cried in church today. I just couldn't hold back. This post might strip me of any pride and ego I have or whatever. But at this very moment, pride and ego is meaningless to me. I know I will cry when I think of you or look at your cards or look at pictures of you or pictures of us, or go to literally every shopping mall we've been, or even hear emo songs or think about you when I am about to sleep or when I see your name in my mobile phone's contact list and stuff. You're like a tattoo stuck in my mind and heart. I might even wake up to dreams of you. But regardless of how long this post is, nothing is gonna change now. It never will change in the first place. I can only blame myself for being bad at times and not taking every opportunity I had to be with you. I cannot promise you anything but my raw love and my effort to really work hard to go to University of Queensland. I'll be strong for us here while you be strong for us there. I'll work hard for our future. I place my love and heart in your hands. Because all I ever want is for you is to be happy. Remember that.

so, for the past 2 months, while i have been working in KL for my internship, Pavilion and KLCC have been the shopping complexes i frequented the most. Thus, shopping cravings multiplied like a billion times. However, priorities first. I would need new shoes. New training/running shoes. basically a versatile shoe la. the best would be if the shoes are pretty enough to be worn out while hanging out with friends and stuff.

Why in the world would i need new training/running shoes?

First off, my futsal shoe (a shoe that i used for badminton and gym and other sports related activities) finally died. Well, technically, "he" is injured and i decided to let it be. And as you can see, i use it for badminton and gym, i would need a pretty versatile pair of shoe

Secondly, i would need to train (seriously. i will train) for my Mount. Kinabalu conquest. Yes. I would be climbing Mount. Kinabalu in the middle of June. By then, I would be OFFICIALLY stripped off of the TEENAGER title (means i am officially twenty by then already la).

So, the usual me did some shoe hunting in Pavilion for the past few trips there. And 2 models from Nike caught my eye =) The Nike Mercurial (futsal boots version) and Nike Elastico. As I got home, I checked the website and I instantly fell in love with all of them. If I had the cash, I would actually buy all of them just to keep and own them.

Some of the pictures below are football boots but they are also available in the futsal version too =) However, only the football boots have ambassadors/spokespersons for each particular model. There are 4 football boots and 3 futsal shoes.

i have thoughts on upgrading my guitar in certain ways =)

1. Pickups. Changing the bridge pickups to Seymour Duncan JB. Getting them from Matt (A Ruthless Cleansing)

2. Bridge. Changing them to TonePros AVT-II (Advanced Version Tailpiece II). The original Chrome colour would do just fine =)

3. Straps. Colours which stand out from my guitar's body colour (black). white or grey or red possibly? a slightly thicker strap would go better with the Tremonti SE i have.I would also prefer those that also comes with the cliplock.

4. Straplocks. Of course, so that the guitar would not slip from the strap. Heard Dunlop guitar straplocks are good =) Black ones or Nickel ones? hmm...

5. Locking Tuners/Machine head. Honestly, i do not know if i need it or not. But i still did some research and the good ones were Sperzel, Tonepros Kluson, Gotoh and Schaller. But this is not much of my worries as my PRS Tremonti SE stays in tune well unless the gig bag plays around with it =)

Mood currently: Sad. Not for long I hope =/

So, I have been working for the past 2 months to complete my internship. I worked in Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia and it was really an eye opener to the corporate world out there.

Honestly, through this experience, I've learned a lot of stuff. When i mean stuff, it includes theoretical knowledge and also practical skills. Other than knowledge and skills, i learned some lessons in life. The cyber world, can only tell you that much. For certain things, you have to experience it for yourself.

There were times where i actually loathe going to work. Especially during the days at the end of the first month and the beginning of the second month. Knowing that i have another month more to keep up with the "hectic" lifestyle kills me inside for a period of time. This is because i dislike waking up early. Sleeping at 12, waking up for soccer at 4 and sleeping back at 6, and waking up an hour after that at 7 for work is not fun. However, if mine's hectic, the job my other colleagues are doing would be a living hell for me.

Out of 10, i would rate my internship this time at 7. The 7 does not reflect my own performance on the job (that was already rated generously by my supervisor), but how much i like the job itself. There were a variety of task and all were different in nature. At first i thought that people in the office would be pretty dead and boring. But I was so proven wrong. The loudest and most outspoken people are the ones in my floor (other than Careen and Carmen in June's floor).

The colleagues that i got to know through this internship were Pooi Fong (my supervisor), Chiou Yoke (Pooi Foong's assistant), Ooi Peng Chuan (but seriously, everyone just calls him Ooi), Ryan, Eddie, Kevin, Quinnie, Carmen and Careen (both at June's floor), Mazlene, Corrine, Cye Sum and Hooi Li.

We worked really hard together although i never stayed back for any overtime before. I do feel guilty at times when i see Chiou Yoke work so hard and yet, i can't really help her much.

2 months passed really fast and as i look back now, all was worth it. it was never about the pay since the start. It was originally about completing my internship successfully (Yes. We can actually FAIL our internship).

But in the end, internship grading aside, I've gained so much more compared to what i expected in this 2 months. Knowledge, skills, wisdom (through failures and mistake), souvenirs from the company (haha), my salary (whatever the amount is), and most importantly to me, friends and memories.

As i reflect upon my 2 month tenure there at work, i realise that i am quite attached to my working place already. Undoubtedly, i would miss my colleagues (i am already missing them now). They took me in as their own and guided me. On the last days of work, they treated to a lot of meals and drinks which i am very very grateful for. They have became a part of me and i (proudly), have become a part of them too.

Today was D-Day. The day where i hand back my working pass to Pooi Foong. The day where i clean up my desk and take all that belongs to me back home. The day where i finally can say to myself "i finished the race". The day that i finally leave those that have been there with me on the 2 month battlefield to fight on while i carry on finding and carving my own future. The day where i leave those that brought laughter and noise to the cold (temperature-wise) office. The day where i finally wrap up all my memories of them in my brain into one folder called "My Life at Allianz" or something like that.

I nearly cried when they sent me off and gave me their blessings. All of them told me to study hard. Like parents saying to their children as they go off to further their education else where. I managed to take pictures with the ones at my floor. All of them were taken by Quinnie with her phone (other than the picture of her and I. Obviously). Personally, the closest to me was Chiou Yoke. I knew her since day 1 and she introduced me to most of the colleagues i know. She sits at my right and she was a great deal of help. Sometimes, i wonder if she gets frustrated at me for asking so many questions (sometimes asking the same questions twice or more). She has been like a big sister and more to me. She is the first ever colleague i ever worked with (yes. i never had any jobs before this). Allianz is where i got my first official paycheck. And, this bunch are the first colleagues i ever had =)

As much as i would like to continue working there (till i get really bored of the job), i know that i would have to cross that thin line from fantasy back to reality. It has been a good ride with you guys. One that i will not forget. It has been an honour.

I miss you guys. We MUST meet for lunch =)

Gear 101: Effects (Part 2)

i've been caught up with work recently. so this blog has been neglected

this part of my gear list would still be the effects part. in fact, this is just the 2nd of dunno-how-many-there-would-be parts. this time, it would be the chorus and delay pedals =)

first part, Delay pedals =) I THINK that there are 2 major types of delays. the analog delay and the digital delay. The MXR Carbon Copy would be my choice for analog delay whereas the BOSS DD-7 would be my choice for well, digital delay? hahaha

MXR Carbon Copy. Jim Root of Stone Sour and Slipknot uses this in the studio for recording and on the road for live shows and tours. He claims that this is by far the best analog pedal he uses and owns.

Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay.

One of the classic pedals produced by Ibanez. definitely a nice colour xD

BOSS DD-7 Digital Delay.

another song by We Are the Fallen's debut album, Tear Down the Walls. this band is awesome and sounds similar to Evanescence. i believe this is because both the guitarists and drummer were the original members of Evanescence. this is basically the core of the band's sound. so, it is no surprise that We Are the Fallen sounds similar to Evanescence.
