HDMI is an acronym for High definition multimedia interface. When you use a HDMI cable along with your home theatre, you are promised of a superior experience compared to the standard analog cable connections like S-video, composite and component video. Using these cables, you can connect different digital audio video sources like HDTV, monitor, DVD players etc. With such a user friendly interface like these cables, you are bound to have crisper audio/video quality. Here we will discuss the rules you need to consider when you purchase HDMI cables for amazing picture and sound in your home theater.

Customers who have recently bought a HDTV or a home theatre also purchase a HDMI cable. The simplest thing to do is go to your nearest electronic store and purchase the first HDMI cable the salesman sells you . The fact is that the price range of the cables can vary from as low a few dollars to a couple of hundred dollars. Many of you might wonder about this large scale price variation. The common thought process would be that costlier the cables, must mean more advanced features.

The fact is you need to ignore the price of the cables. In fact experts recommend that you can safely ignore cables over the 10 dollar price range. The reason, experts say, is simple. These cables have to perform the simple task of sending information between the devices it is connecting. This information is in form of a string of zeros and ones. And that is basically what goes in the cables. So it does not matter what the price of your cable is. The zeros and ones have to safely travel where they are supposed to go and a good cable will transport them properly. If you purchase from a reliable brand name you will get a functional cable that is affordable and also does its job sincerely.

The second rule is that such cable manufacturers are selling the cables under the banner of Gold plated cables. Experts again suggest that other than increasing the price, the gold plated cables do not make any difference to the picture quality. You can however consider it as an worthwhile investment since gold plated HDMI cables do last a lot longer than regular HDMI cables.

The third rule is the length of cable is going to increase its price. The standard size of the HDMI is about 6 feet. But if you want less "tangling of wires behind your HDTV" then you should opt for the shortest cable. You must also remember that the size of the cable does not in any way diminish the picture quality of the cable.

The fourth rule to remember while purchasing such a cable is to ignore gimmicks that are used by salesmen. But do note that the latest version in these cables is the 1.4 HDMI. Using this knowledge you should shop confidently for any cable of HDMI 1.4.

Armed with this knowledge you can go ahead and purchase the HDMI. This cable is sure to give you many advantages like enhanced picture and sound quality for an amazing home theater experience with your brand new HDTV.

A Better Understanding Of What Are HDMI Cables

A lot of people now walk into an electronic store with a common query on their mind that is what are HDMI cables exactly. The exact technical definition of this cable is that it an audio and video interface medium, which transmits data in the digital form. It has proved to be an enhanced option to the standard analog connection. It supports all the latest devices that have an input port and even older devices with DVI port.

This wire can support any type of PC or TV video format, over a single type, including high definition data. It can also support 8 different digital audio channels, either compressed or uncompressed. It can also carry the Consumer electronic control connection. This allows user to control various devices with a single remote control.

The technology was globally introduced in the year 2003, when the world first came to know what are HDMI cables. All the digital equipment these days support them with at least one dedicated slot or output port for them. Gradually, they became more exciting than DVI cables, as they supported backward compatibility.

In the year 2002, work began on designing a transport medium, which could carry high definition data both ways from one device to another. It was required that it supported backward compatibility so that it makes it more practical for use. The world finally witnessed the launch in 2003. Televisions have been one of the first devices, to have housed a slot for this type of cord.

The popularity of these cables can be guessed by the fact that a leading technology magazine awarded it with an annual award. It also defined it as the innovation that has revolutionised the entire digital equipment industry.

High definition video and audio capability has now become a standard feature on all the latest devices and equipments. These hence allow interconnectivity and communication between these equipments. The popularity of these has helped in understanding, what are HDMI cables.

Detail Guidance On HDMI Extender For You

With the HDMI standard continuing to grow in the marketplace with now over 850 adopters worldwide, growing adoption of the
HDMI specification by both consumer electronics and PC manufacturers further strengthens its position as the worldwide standard
for high-definition digital connectivity. Cablesson is proud to add the NEW Cablesson KAISER 1.4 HDMI cable to our product range.
We are one of the first company in the world to introduce the NEW HDMI 1.4 cable to our consumers. The Kaiser 1.4 HDMI cable
is CL3 rated for in wall installation and will future proof your High Definition setup.
The HDMI 1.4 specification will offer the following enhanced functionalities:
HDMI Ethernet Channel
The HDMI 1.4 specification will add a data channel to the HDMI cable and will enable high-speed bi-directional communication.
Connected devices that include this feature will be able to send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready
for any IP-based application.
The HDMI Ethernet Channel will allow an Internet-enabled HDMI device to share its Internet connection with other HDMI devices
without the need for a separate Ethernet cable. The new feature will also provide the connection platform to allow HDMI-enabled devices
to share content between devices.
Audio Return Channel
The new specification will add an Audio Return Channel that will reduce the number of cables required to deliver audio upstream for processing
and playback. In cases where HDTVs are directly receiving audio and video content, this new Audio Return Channel allows the HDTV to send
the audio stream to the A/V receiver over the HDMI cable, eliminating the need for an extra cable.
3D Over HDMI
The 1.4 version of the specification will define common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices. The specification will standardize
the input/output portion of the home 3D system and will specify up to dual-stream 1080p resolution.
4K x 2K Resolution Support
The new specification will enable HDMI devices to support high-definition (HD) resolutions four times beyond the resolution of 1080p. Support for
4K x 2K will allow the HDMI interface to transmit content at the same resolution as many digital theaters. Formats supported include:
3840x2160 24Hz/25Hz/30Hz
4096x2160 24Hz
Expanded Support For Colour Spaces
HDMI technology now supports colour spaces designed specifically for digital still cameras. By supporting sYCC601, Adobe RGB and AdobeYCC601,
HDMI-enabled display devices will be capable of reproducing more accurate life-like colours when connected to a digital still camera.
Specification
Length: 7.5 Metres.Speed: Ultra High-Speed (Cat 2).AWG: 24AWG.CL3: Rated for In wall Installation.Metal Die-cast casing.Nitrogen gas-injected dielectric with quad-shielding for maximum signal strength. Delivers Up to 4k 2k resolution.15.8 Gbps (120/240 Hz)24K Gold-plated Connector Plug Contacts.Mylar Backed Foil.HDMI 1.4 - Ethernet Channel, Audio Return Channel, 3D over HDMI , upto 4k x 2k Resolution Supported and Expanded Support For Colour Spaces.
