Barney Frank, a Short Synopsis.

Wow, it's been a while since I have posted a blog. Life, work and commitments sometimes get in the way of fun pursuits, like blogging. I am now making the time to blog because there are several important races that are heating up in Massachusetts.

One race that I would like to take a look at today is, the 4th District race. Barney Frank is currently the Representative of this district. Barney has been in office for almost 30 long years. Frank is known throughout the nation as one of the people who helped set in motion, the financial crisis.

Frank has championed many causes lately like, Internet gambling, lax laws for marijuana possession and the health care bill. What Barney Frank has failed to do is champion the causes of the people in the District in which he is supposed to serve. Record high unemployment plagues many of the big cities in the district. This situation has been ongoing, it was in place long before the financial crisis took place. Repeatedly, Mr. Frank has turned a blind eye to the needs of his constituents, while selfishly pursuing his own personal agenda.

Speaking of constituents, Barney Frank has no respect for them. It is well documented that when challenged or questioned, Barney Frank lashes out like a mad man. Barney Frank's pompous, elitist attitude is shocking and should cause the voters in his district some serious concern.

Barney Frank also has trouble getting along with news commentators. For some odd reason, Barney just cannot answer a simple question.

Barney Frank's lashing out isn't just reserved for news commentators or his constituents. Look what happens when Barney is asked a question by a Harvard student.

If you are a small business owner, making over 250,000, you are rich in Barney Frank's mind, he is after you too. Watch as Barney Frank suggests that spending be increased, and that rich people should be taxed more to pay for it.

Tomorrow, we will take a look at Barney Frank's challengers in the 2010 race. I will look at who is running, their experience and who can actually match wits with Barney.

U.S. Troops Not Important On Obama Itinerary

Obama has finally finished up his Middle East and European Tour De Farce and now is under scrutiny for snubbing our U.S troops. Apparently, Obama was scheduled to make a stop to meet and greet with our American troops but instead he opted to spend his time at the gym pumping iron. Turns out the Pentagon did not want camera's rolling when Obama visited the troops, so the trip was scrapped by the Obama campaign. It is obvious that Obama was just using our troops for a photo op, shame on him. How can any sane person consider Barack Obama to be Presidential material, after passing over our troops and not visiting them, I am not sure if Obama is even American material...

McCain, Just Say No To Mitt Romney

According to an article by Robert Novak that was posted on Humanevents.com, McCain will be picking a VP this week.

"Sources close to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign are suggesting he will reveal the name of his vice presidential selection this week while Sen. Barack Obama is getting the headlines on his foreign trip. The name of McCain's running mate has not been disclosed, but Mitt Romney has led the speculation recently".

That's terrific that McCain is picking a VP, HOORAY! I think that most Republicans can agree that McCain needs a real conservative to balance out the ticket. But the mere mention of the name Mitt Romney as a possible VP pick, causes me serious gastric distress. Apparently Mitt Romney has the other 57 states fooled into thinking that he is a true conservative but those of us who suffered through his term as Governor know the real story. Let me share some facts with you about Willard Romney, yes that is his real name, just like the rat movie.

1. Human Events reported that "Romney was probably the most pro-abortion and pro-gay rights Republican official in the nation for the last decade.

2. Willard won a ranking as one of the Top 10 RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) by Human Events 12/27/05 - (Mitt Romney is ranked #8)

3. While Governor of Massachusetts, Romney imposed $283 million in business “loophole closures” and $501.5 million in increased fees on marriage licenses, gun registrations, gasoline deliveries, real-estate transfers and more. Under Romney, the Tax Foundation calculated, Massachusetts fell from America’s 29th-most-business-friendly state to No. 36.

5. When he was Governor, Romney teamed up with Ted Kennedy and John Kerry to enact The Massachusetts State MANDATED health care plan (Commonwealth Care). This Romney brainchild is a government subsidized health care plan that requires citizens to register with the state, slaps working people with tax penalties, and provides $50 abortions on demand. AS of right now this huge branch of government that Romney created is millions of dollars in the RED.

I could go on and with a list of hundreds of Romney misdeeds & blunders (do a google search, investigate for yourself) but you get the point right? This is only a fraction of the kitchen sink that the Democrats will be able to throw at McCain if he chooses Mitt Romney. Willard "Mitt" Romney was a nightmare for Massachusetts and he will be the nail in coffin for the Republican party if he is chosen as VP. Write John McCain and beg him NOT to choose Mitt as VP because Romney comes in as a close second to Obama as one of the most disingenuous politicians to walk the planet.

McCain and The NRA Take On Obama

Kudos to John McCain for being the first to release a contrast ad in this General election cycle. McCain's ad takes shots at Obama's lack of foriegn policy experience and his flip-flops on key issues like the war in Iraq. I think the timing of this ad is perfect, perhaps it will leach some of the press spotlight that Obama has had due to his middle east pandering expedition.

Speaking of taking shots, The National Rifle Association, announced that it will spend $40 million during this election season, $15 million specifically to persuade gun owners to vote against Barack Obama.The Illinios Senator really ticked of the NRA when he made that comment earlier in the year stating that the people in western Pennsylvania were bitterly clinging to guns and their religion. Anyone want to bet that we will see a quick move to center by Barack Obama on the issues surrounding the second ammendment? Don't be suprised if you see photos of Obama in the near future, wearing his new favorite color, blaze orange...

Maybe we could ask Charlie Gibson, Katie Couric or Brian Williams, after all they are the three anchor people or "journalists" that were chosen to cover Obama's Middle East trip. Wow, talk about soft, liberal journalism, images of little kittens and butterflies come to my mind when I think of how these "journalists" will cover Obama's trip. The American people will not get the full story, as usual we will get only the liberal slanted version but hey at least it will be perky. I can read the headlines now, "The People Of The Middle East Fall At Obama's feet", "Obama Finds Iraq On The Map, He Is A Foreign Policy Expert", "Hamas and Hezbollah Have A Picnic With Obama", " Ahmadinejad Adds Obama As His MySpace Friend". Ok, I know I am stretching it a little but the coverage and success of Obama's trip will be much like his Presidential credentials, EXTREMELY exaggerated.

John McCain was in the Middle East recently and the three major networks hardly gave his trip a mention. Odd how McCains trip was backpage news and Obama's trip to the Middle East is being played up like the Second Coming Of Christ. The mainstream media has no limits to its biased liberal reporting. The American people need to wake up and realize that the news media is altering reality, it is reminiscent of Communist State sponsored TV, you are only told what "they" want you to know. The best way to fight back its to turn off ABC, NBC & CBS, do not watch their news or any of their shows. Maybe if their ratings drop even lower than they already are, they will start listening to what the American people want instead of shoving their liberal agendas down our throats...

McCain Talks To The NAACP And Praises Obama

I am starting to get a little ticked off at John McCain with his "hands-off Obama" attitude. Whenever I hear an interview with John McCain he is usually ends up bashing his fellow Republicans and patting Obama on the back, a very odd strategy. What happened to the "straight talk express"? Many Conservatives are scratching their head's wondering why McCain has passed on the many opportunities he has had to give the American people some "straight talk" about Obama. Yesterday, McCain appeared to talk education at the NAACP in Cincinnati, instead of pointing out the political differences between him and Obama, again McCain was ready with a line of BS, that I am sure the entire crowd at the NAACP could see through.

The headline of this article says it all:

McCain talks education to NAACP, lauds Obama"Don't tell him I said this, but he is an impressive fellow in many ways," McCain said. "He has inspired a great many Americans, some of whom had wrongly believed that a political campaign could hold no purpose or meaning for them."

Nice statement right? I do understand that McCain was in front of a largely black audience and McCains statement was meant to impress but he had nothing at all to gain from this making statement, except the crowd saying "Gee, isn't he nice", its not like they are going to vote for him. McCain needs to stop being so politically correct and get some courage. If McCain does not start pointing out the clear differences between him and Obama on a consistent basis, then the Republicans are going to lose this race for sure. Perhaps, the "Straight Talk Express" should take a detour to the Emerald City, maybe a visit with Wizard will set McCain "straight" .

I apologize to the few readers that I did have for not keeping this blog updated. Life has kept me busy but I am now planning to focus my full attention on this blog. Looks like Obama has a problem with telling the truth, pretty scary to think that this man could actually wind up being our President.

Rev. Wright Digs Himself a Deeper Hole

Rev. Jeremiah Wright made the HUGE mistake of speaking before the National Press Club today, his comments were infused with the same old inflammatory rhetoric that we have all heard in his infamous sermons. Jim Geraghty from the National Review online touches on the important points of the speech:

Wright: This Wasn't an Attack on Me, It Was an Attack on the Black Church

Watching Wright at the National Press Club, I thought the headline would be that he said we have witnessed an "attack on the black church, not an attack on Jeremiah Wright." But he's hitting a wide variety of notes... hitting the Bush administration for "cutting billions in food stamps to pay for war in Iraq." Wright mentions his Goddaughter arrived in Iraq last week; he declares that those who questioned his patriotism used their positions to avoid military service.

Hits those who "worship Sunday mornings in a black clergy robe, then burn crosses on Sunday evening with a white Klan robe."

"The Christianity of the slave-holder is not the Christianity of the slave."

UPDATE: Wright says, "launched by people who know nothing of the African-American church"...

On Farrkhan: "How many people do you know who could get one million people on the mall? Farrakhan is like E.F. Hutton. When he talks, black America listens. Whether they agree with him or not, they listen."

On Obama's reaction: "We both know that if Obama had not said what he said, he would never get elected."

A genuine laugh: "I'm not running for office... I am interested in being vice president."

Asked about God d*** America: "I'm not a spiritual mentor... I'm his pastor. I told him that if he's elected, on November 5, I'm going after you, because you're now a representative of a government (check transcript?)... It's about policy."

"We have never apologized for slavery. We have never apologized for Japan."

I missed it, but I understand that he said, "You can't do terrorism, and not have it come back to you."

"He had to distance himself from those statements because he's a politician."

On the Government created AIDS: Have you read "Medical Apartheid"? I read different things.. Cites the Tuskeegee Experiments. "I believe our government is capable of doing anything."

Obama denies likening Israel to apartheid. Says that was Jimmy Carter. Says he believes Israel has a right to exist, and that Israelis have a right to exist, and but that "reconciliation" is necessary.

"In Biblical history, there isn't a word between Genesis and Revelation that wasn't written during one of six eras of oppression. Says he was comparing oppressions... Imperialism was going on in Luke... We have troops stationed all over the world. We rule the world." (A smattering of applause.)

Wright reiterates two key points — one, not that he was not attacked, but that the entire "African-American church was attacked." I wonder how many African-American churches are comfortable with Jeremiah Wright being the national spokesman for their entire religious community, elected circumstance.

Second, Wright keeps emphasizing that his critics know "nothing of the traditions of the African-American church community." But how much must one know about the African-American church in order to decide whether or not something is offensive? Is the declaration that the U.S. and al-Qaeda do the same acts under different color flags — do you or I need to have extensive background in that field of study before rejecting that argument? Declaring that our policies "grind people under"?

Are only historians of the black church entitled to criticize Jeremiah Wright?

**From CWS- Apparently, Rev. Wright has had threats to his life, so now he is being protected by the nation of Islam. There is a lot of security companies out there, so Wright choosing the Nation Of Islam to protect him speaks volumes. Can you smell what the Rev. Wright and Obama are cooking?

I usually cannot stand to read Anne Coulter articles but her take on Barack Obama's book seems to be be pretty accurate:

If characters from "The Hills" were to emote about race, I imagine it would sound like B. Hussein Obama's autobiography, "Dreams From My Father."

Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read "Mein Kampf" ...

Nearly every page -- save the ones dedicated to cataloguing the mundane details of his life -- is bristling with anger at some imputed racist incident. The last time I heard this much race-baiting invective I was ... in my usual front-row pew, as I am every Sunday morning, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

Obama tells a story about taking two white friends from the high school basketball team to a "black party." Despite their deep-seated, unconscious hatred of blacks, the friends readily accepted. At the party, they managed not to scream the N-word, but instead "made some small talk, took a couple of the girls out on the dance floor."

But with his racial hair-trigger, Obama sensed the whites were not comfortable because "they kept smiling a lot." And then, in an incident reminiscent of the darkest days of the Jim Crow South ... they asked to leave after spending only about an hour at the party! It was practically an etiquette lynching!

So either they hated black people with the hot, hot hate of a thousand suns, or they were athletes who had come to a party late, after a Saturday night basketball game.

In the car on the way home, one of the friends empathizes with Obama, saying: "You know, man, that really taught me something. I mean, I can see how it must be tough for you and Ray sometimes, at school parties ... being the only black guys and all."

And thus Obama felt the cruel lash of racism! He actually writes that his response to his friend's perfectly lovely remark was: "A part of me wanted to punch him right there."

Listen, I don't want anybody telling Obama about Bill Clinton's "I feel your pain" line.

Wanting to punch his white friend in the stomach was the introductory anecdote to a full-page psychotic rant about living by "the white man's rules." (One rule he missed was: "Never punch out your empathetic white friend after dragging him to a crappy all-black party.")

Obama's gaseous disquisition on the "white man's rules" leads to this charming crescendo: "Should you refuse this defeat and lash out at your captors, they would have a name for that, too, a name that could cage you just as good. Paranoid. Militant. Violent. Nigger."

Both Reagan and McCain are supporters of federally funded embryonic stem cell research, which is a viewpoint that does not fly with true conservatives. In fact John McCain credits Nancy Reagan as the one who changed his mind on the issue. The last thing America needs is a President that is influenced by the thoughts and ideas of a liberal leaning Nancy Reagan. So, I see the endorsement by Nancy Reagan of McCain as a further testimony of his moderate to liberal leanings in other words, this is not helping McCain's case that he is a true conservative.

In light of today’s news of Nancy Reagan’s endorsement of McCain -- the two will appear together this afternoon, the campaign said -- McCain has credited Nancy Reagan, in part, for his change in position on federal funding for stem cell research. He explained her impact on Meet the Press in 2005, and reiterated his support at the MSNBC presidential debate (with Nancy Reagan present) in May 2007.

TIM RUSSERT: Let me turn to another ethical, moral, political issue, stem cell research. In 2000, John McCain and 19 other senators wrote a letter which said "Since 1996 Congress has banned federal funding for `research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed.' ...we support [this law]."

You've changed your mind.

McCAIN: Yes, I have.

RUSSERT: Why?

McCAIN: For a large number of reasons, ranging from getting briefed by very smart people on this issue and including discussing this with Nancy Reagan who, as you know, is a very strong advocate for stem cell research. I want to make it clear that those of us who support this do not believe that it has anything to do with human cloning and all of us are against human cloning. I look forward to the debate. It's a very complex scientific issue. But for us to throw away opportunities to cure diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's and many others I think would be a mistake. I look forward to the debate. It's interesting that more than two-thirds of the American people support stem cell research.

RUSSERT: There is a discussion now in legislation which would say that embryos created in fertilization clinics that are not used by the couple to have another baby could be used for stem cell research. Others say, no, no, they should be given to other couples, so-called snowflake babies. Where do you come down on that?

McCAIN: I think that--first of all, I don't claim to be an expert. But, second of all, I think that should be up to the couples that--whose embryos they are. I think that's a decision that they should probably make.

The story of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection has deep meaning to Christians for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, it is the defining moment of the Christian faith. But for the resurrection, Christianity would be nothing more than a legend, not unlike the stories from Greek or Roman mythology. As the Apostle Paul notes in I Corinthians 15:17-18, "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is in vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished." Indeed, our very hope of eternal life depends upon the resurrection of Christ!

Beyond this, however, the resurrection is the supreme reminder that the biggest victories can come from the greatest defeats.

When Jesus walked the land of Palestine, the Jews held fast to God's promise of deliverance. Oppressed by the Romans, the children of Israel eagerly awaited the coming of the Messiah—the Savior who would overthrow their tormenters and restore the Throne of David. Many of the Jews who followed Jesus believed that He would do just that. However, when He died by the most humiliating way—death on a Roman cross—their hopes were dashed. Even as Jesus' blood poured down the tall, wooden cross into the parched ground below, their hope of salvation slipped away—or so it seemed.

We know the rest of the story. Jesus rose again. He overcame the grips of Death and Hades. Caesar did his worst, but it was not enough to keep Jesus down. As a result, salvation from sin and reconciliation with God became available to all who choose to come to Christ in faith. What was meant for evil, God turned to good. Jesus' humiliating defeat became the vehicle for the greatest victory in all of human history.

Today, our nation is going through a difficult time. The ever burgeoning number of home foreclosures have created an economic crisis not unlike the Great Depression itself. And with gas prices at record highs, the dollars in our pockets have been stretched to their limits. If this weren't bad enough, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—although necessary to preserve our national security—have taxed the patience of our people to their limits. To borrow from Thomas Paine, "these are the times that try men's souls."

As difficult as these times may be, though, we may look to the story of Easter for hope. Just as God used the greatest evil (the death of Jesus on the cross) to birth the greatest good (salvation for mankind), so will God use the problems we now face as a springboard for our greatest victories.

You may be going through a difficult time right now. Maybe you have lost your home, or perhaps your loved one is serving our country proudly in a war zone. You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If so, just remember that God knows right where you are. If you will only trust Him, He will lead you through this time of testing and deliver you from evil. Like a woman in childbirth, the heartache and pain you experience today will precede the greatest happiness you will ever know. Just believe.

Obama Needs Some Schooling From Bill Cosby

If you didn't catch the Obama race speech, you can read the transcript [Here]. As I watched this speech, I was appalled that Obama pulled out the race card to try and focus the attention on race instead of focusing on Obama's affiliation with Rev. Wright.

If Obama was truly serious about looking at the issues that black community is facing, he would stop claiming racism at every turn and start listening to people like Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby has the courage to take a look at the real issues and urge the black community to examine themselves.

Cosby put it so well in his now famous speech given in 2004 on the anniversary of Brown vs The board of education:

Ladies and gentlemen, these people set -- they opened the doors, they gave us the right, and today, ladies and gentlemen, in our cities and public schools we have 50% drop out. In our own neighborhood, we have men in prison. No longer is a person embarrassed because they’re pregnant without a husband. No longer is a boy considered an embarrassment if he tries to run away from being the father of the unmarried child.

Ladies and gentlemen, the lower economic and lower middle economic people are not holding their end in this deal. In the neighborhood that most of us grew up in, parenting is not going on. In the old days, you couldn’t hooky school because every drawn shade was an eye. And before your mother got off the bus and to the house, she knew exactly where you had gone, who had gone into the house, and where you got on whatever you had one and where you got it from. Parents don’t know that today.

I’m talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was two? Where were you when he was twelve? Where were you when he was eighteen, and how come you don’t know he had a pistol? And where is his father, and why don’t you know where he is? And why doesn’t the father show up to talk to this boy?

The church is only open on Sunday. And you can’t keep asking Jesus to ask doing things for you. You can’t keep asking that God will find a way. God is tired of you . God was there when they won all those cases. 50 in a row. That’s where God was because these people were doing something. And God said, “I’m going to find a way.” I wasn’t there when God said it -- I’m making this up. But it sounds like what God would do.

We cannot blame white people. White people -- white people don’t live over there. They close up the shop early. The Korean ones still don’t know us as well -- they stay open 24 hours. I’m looking and I see a man named Kenneth Clark, he and his wife Mamie. Kenneth’s still alive. I have to apologize to him for these people because Kenneth said it straight. He said you have to strengthen yourselves, and we’ve got to have that black doll. And everybody said it. Julian Bond said it. Dick Gregory said it. All these lawyers said it. And you wouldn’t know that anybody had done a damned thing.

Fifty percent drop out rate, I’m telling you, and people in jail, and women having children by five, six different men. Under what excuse? I want somebody to love me. And as soon as you have it, you forget to parent. Grandmother, mother, and great grandmother in the same room, raising children, and the child knows nothing about love or respect of any one of the three of them. All this child knows is “gimme, gimme, gimme.” These people want to buy the friendship of a child, and the child couldn’t care less. Those of us sitting out here who have gone on to some college or whatever we’ve done, we still fear our parents. And these people are not parenting. They’re buying things for the kid -- $500 sneakers -- for what? They won’t buy or spend $250 on Hooked on Phonics.

It is time for the black community to distance themselves from people like Rev. Wright, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and all those who continually add fuel to the racial fire and start listening to people like Bill Cosby. Cosby has the courage to look at the real issues and he gets the concept of personal responsibility. Jackson, Wright, Sharpton will forever live in the past and will continue to keep the members of the black community in a emotional torment with nothing but anger for a solution..

John Kerry Plays The Race Card

Martin Luther King Jr. said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." In the video below you will hear Sen. John Kerry state that Barack Obama is best suited to deal with Muslim nations because he is "African American". Kerry also said "it would be an affirmation of who we are as Americans, if we elect an African American President." Now correct me if I am wrong but aren't we supposed to judge somebody by their merits and experience not by the color of their skin?

John Kerry and many black leaders are making a mess out of the message of Dr. King. Looking beyond skin color is supposed to be the ultimate goal . Everyone is the same regardless of race, gender or creed, yet it is ok to use the issue of skin color as a selling point to gather votes for a candidate. How does this statement sound: John McCain is best suited to deal with European nations because he is a white man, a statement like that sounds very racist and would be immediately chastised by Black leaders, Democrats and most of America.

I think that Dr. King would have been very upset to know that the race card is being used as a means to get Barack Obama elected. Would it make the Black community proud to have Obama win the election just because he is black? America has taken steps backward if we are using race or even gender to determine who is best suited for the job of President.

If McCain Wants Support From Social Conservatives, He Needs To Pick a VP Soon

I am a Huckabee supporter and coming to the realization that I need to support John McCain has not been easy. Sure, I will check the box in November for McCain but I will be voting with my head not my heart. In my heart Mike Huckabee is and always will be the perfect choice for President. That being said, McCain needs to choose a running mate quickly if he wants people like me to even attempt to emotionally take a step onto the straight talk express. McCain needs a VP choice who can gather up some enthusiasm for his candidacy. I would say at least 60% (unscientific, of course) of Republicans are supporting McCain because they have to not because they want to, so this VP choice has to be someone really special. Of course I would like that special someone to be Mike Huckabee but the chances of that are slim to none so we need to look at other options.

Here are some other names being mentioned for VP: Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Sam Brownback, Michael Steele, J.C. Watts, Mark Sanford, Jeb Bush, Condi Rice, Sarah Palin, Charlie Crist, Haley Barbour, Lindsey Graham.

McCain’s age “inevitably invites questions about whether his running mate would be a suitable president,” said Gerald Seib in The Wall Street Journal, so youth and experience will be crucial in picking the perfect VP. McCain’s “vice-presidential sidekick” will have to be “a younger politician who is viewed as a potential president, and also can help win the South, woo social conservatives, and shore up Sen. McCain's weaknesses on economic policy. Oh, and being a woman would be nice, too.”

The pick should also make front-page news, said Star Parker in the Boston Herald, because it will be tough for McCain to get free publicity while the Democrats brawl. Selecting former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee as his running mate would do the trick. And the choice would also “shore up the large evangelical base and give positive content to a campaign defined primarily by fighting terrorism.”

No, Huckabee would only magnify McCain’s trouble with conservatives, said Fred Barnes in The Weekly Standard. The list of “plausible presidents” is short, and includes just Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Tom Ridge, and Joe Lieberman. At the top of the list: Governors Tim Pawlenty, of Minnesota; Charlie Crist, of Florida; Jon Huntsman, Jr., of Utah; and Mark Sanford, of South Carolina. “What shines through this list of names is the banality of the calculations behind it.” If McCain really wants to “refurbish his maverick image,” “galvanize the attention of the press, the nation, and the world,” and “make a bold play for the center without seriously alienating ‘the base’” — he might choose Condoleezza Rice.

McCain will have to be “bold,” said William Kristol in The New York Times (free registration), but that doesn’t mean he’ll face a shortage of options. “He could pick a hawkish and principled Democrat like Joe Lieberman,” or “he could reach beyond the usual bevy of elected officials by tapping either David Petraeus or Raymond Odierno — the two generals who turned around the Iraq war. Or “he could persuade the most impressive conservative in American public life, Clarence Thomas, to join the ticket.” That would make headlines.

Should the emails and text messages of State & Government officials be available for public viewing?

I think that any emails and text messages written on Government/State owned computers should be available for public review unless it is classified or sensitive material. If Government officials would like to write emails to their family, friends or mistresses it should be done on their own private phones or computers.

If I am at work using the company computer, my boss can very well monitor my computer use. After all it is his computer and I am working for him. Should it not be the same for the people that work for the state or Government? We paid for the computers they are using and we as citizens are paying their salary..

I am of the thought that what goes on in the Government should be an open book after all these elected officials are in office supposedly doing the peoples work, so why can't the people see the work that they are doing?

Some reading this may think that my opinion is not a conservative point of view. I do realize that most of this issue is spearheaded by Democrats who just want to bring down President Bush and his administration but Democrats will also be subject to having their emails and text messages available for public review. Transparency in Government is needed so that we the citizens can keep an eye on members of both parties..

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- In New Jersey, the governor's e-mails might shed light on whether he inappropriately conferred with a labor leader he once dated. In Detroit, the mayor's text messages revealed a sexually charged scandal. In California, a fight rages for access to e-mails sent by a city councilwoman about a controversial biological laboratory.

Even the White House has been under pressure from Democrats in Congress over its problem-plagued e-mail system.

While e-mail and text messaging has become a hugely popular way to communicate throughout society, governments at all levels are often unwilling to let the public see the e-mails of their elected officials.

Officially, e-mails in all but a handful of states are treated like paper documents and subject to Freedom of Information requests. But most of these states have rules allowing them to choose which e-mails to turn over, and most decide on their own when e-mail records are deleted.

"There seems to be an attitude throughout government - at all levels - that somehow electronic communications are of its own kind and not subject to the laws in the way that print communications are," said Patrice McDermott, director of OpenTheGovernment.org.

"So we keep hearing reports of governors and mayors who decree that their e-mail records can be destroyed, in six weeks or six months, with no appraisal for permanent value and no review by an independent body," she said.

Open records advocates contend by keeping electronic communications private, states are giving their elected officials an avenue to operate in secret - they use taxpayer-funded computers to send and receive e-mail but with little or no obligation to make such communications public.

"The public needs to realize that is their possibility for accountability and historical review that is being put through the electronic shredder," McDermott said. read more >>>

Word has it that by the end of the week this 22 year old will be a millionaire. Dupré has posted two songs on the new music-discovery site Amie Street obviously this young women is out to capitalize on all the news surrounding this scandal.

I have to wonder what type of message this is sending to young women? You can become a high class prostitute, get caught, not get in in trouble, become famous and make a couple of million dollars for your efforts.

If Ms. Ashley had an ounce of moral dignity she would denounce what she has done and appear sorry for her choice of profession not for her sake but for the millions of young women who are watching how this whole story unfolds.

Ashley should be given a new wardrobe for all her efforts, a bright orange jumpsuit with the designer label "property of the state of New York" that she can wear while paying her debt to society for the crimes she committed..

Barack Obama Earmarks $1 Million for Wife's Hospital

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has released a list of $740 million in earmark requests he made in the past three years, and it includes $1 million for the hospital where his wife Michelle is a vice president.

The request for $1 million for the University of Chicago Medical Center was to help pay for construction of a new pavilion.

“I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that Michelle Obama was not part of our lobbying over the request, not in any way,” Kelly Sullivan, another vice president at the medical center, told the New York Times.

In any case, the 2006 request for the hospital was not approved by the Senate, as was about $7 out of every $10 the Illinois senator asked for in earmarks.

Bud he did manage to secure $1.3 million for a high-explosive technology program for the Army’s Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The program was overseen by General Dynamics, and one of Obama’s top supporters, James Crown — a member of Obama’s national finance committee — serves on the board of General Dynamics.

Obama also secured a $750,000 earmark for renovation of a space center named for Crown’s grandfather, Henry Crown, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

And Obama secured several million dollars for a project at Chicago State University. Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones Jr., a close personal friend of Obama and one of his benefactors, has been a strong supporter of Chicago State, according to the Times.

Other earmarks sought and secured by Obama include more than $10 million for a military arsenal in Rock Island, several million dollars for research on soybean disease and livestock genes, and $100,000 for after-school programs at the Chicago Jesuit Academy.

Michelle Obama is on leave from her job while her husband campaigns for president, but after Barack was elected to congress, she received a big raise.

USA Today reports that officials at the University of Chicago Hospitals told the Chicago Tribune that Michelle is "worth her weight in gold."

"She's terrific," added Michael Riordan, who was president of the hospital in March 2005, when Michelle Obama was promoted to vice president for external affairs and had her annual salary increased from $121,910 to $316,962.

Hospitals spokesman John Easton told the Tribune that Michelle Obama's salary is in line with those of the 16 other vice presidents at the not-for-profit medical center.

Racism Runs Deep With The Democrats

"If Obama was a White man," Ferraro said, "he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman of any color, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." Is this really a racist comment,maybe but comment is mild in comparison to what Barack Obama has listen to for the past 20 years..

Watch as Barack Obama's mentor, Jeremiah Wright of Trinity UCC (United Church of Christ) preaching on the notion of a black Jesus being oppressed by white people and his tirade against Hillary Clinton stating that, "Hillary ain't never been called a...."

Barack Obama has been a member of the Trinity UCC (Church Of Christ) for the past 20 years. Jeremiah Wright just left the church in Jan. 08. Obama has become fully indoctrinated in the concept of black separatism. Wouldn't a person remove their family from that church and find a new place to worship if they did not agree with the comments made by their pastor? This can only mean one thing, Obama agrees with what has been said by Jeremiah Wright. Obama can distance himself from these statements all he wants but still every Sunday for almost 20 years, he showed up at this church. Obama has some explaining to do...

Being Mrs Eliot Spitzer

It must be really torturous to be Mrs. Eliot Spitzer right about now, how horrifying and humiliating to find that your husband has been cheating on you with a prostitute. I watched the Eliot Spitzer news conference yesterday, he had Mrs Spitzer standing by his side. You could tell that Mrs Spitzer had been emotionally destroyed, her eyes were clearly swollen and puffy from crying. I feel really bad for her but what kind of message are women like Mrs. Spitzer, Hillary Clinton and other's, sending to all the other married women out there who find out their husbands are low life scum?

Its all well and good to stand by your man but geez have women lost all their dignity? From the prostitute that Spitzer slept with to Monica Lewinsky, Hillary Clinton and Mrs Spitzer, their behavior is setting women back a hundred years. Giving men sex for money and standing by your husband while he sleep's around reduces women to second class citizens, again.

I feel that people like Eliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton and all the other politicians that have fallen from grace, should have been chastised by their wives in public. Maybe a good public slap across the face will discourage men from treating women like dirty dish rags.

The public behavior of the humiliated politicians wives needs to reflect to the ground that we have gained as women over the years, we do not need to revert back to this way of thinking:

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the home just before your husband arrives, gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.

Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair, and if necessary change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad he is home.

Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day. Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

Listen to him. You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

Make the evening his. Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

The Goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.
