Acne (acne vulgaris, common acne) is a disease of the hair follicles of the face, chest, and back that affects almost all males and females during puberty; the only exception being teenage members of a few primitive isolated tribes living in Neolithic societies. It is not caused by bacteria, although bacteria play a role in its development. It is not unusual for some women to develop acne in their mid- to late-20s.

Acne appears on the skin as...

congested pores ("comedones"), also known as blackheads or whiteheads,
pustules, and occasionally as
cysts (deep pimples, boils).

You can do a lot to treat your acne using products available at a drugstore or cosmetic counter that do not require a prescription. However, for tougher cases of acne, you should consult a physician for treatment options.

What causes acne?

No one factor causes acne. Acne happens when sebaceous (oil) glands attached to the hair follicles are stimulated at the time of puberty by elevated levels of male hormones. Sebum (oil) is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin. Associated with increased oil production is a change in the manner in which the skin cells mature so that they are predisposed to clog the follicular openings or pores. The clogged hair follicle gradually enlarges, producing a bump. As the follicle enlarges, the wall may rupture, allowing irritating substances and normal skin bacteria access into the deeper layers of the skin, ultimately producing inflammation.

Inflammation near the skin's surface produces a pustule; deeper inflammation results in a papule (pimple); deeper still and it's a cyst. If the oil breaks though to the surface, the result is a "whitehead." If the oil accumulates melanin pigment or becomes oxidized, the oil changes from white to black, and the result is a "blackhead." Blackheads are therefore not dirt and do not reflect poor hygiene.

Over-the-counter (OTC) lotions are generally mild and contain benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid or lactic acid as their active ingredient. These products can be helpful for very mild acne. OTC acne medications may cause initial side effects — such as skin irritation, dryness and flaking — that often improve after the first month of therapy.
Topical treatments available by prescription - If your acne doesn't respond to OTC treatments, you may want to see a doctor or dermatologist to get a stronger prescription lotion. Tretinoin (Avita, Retin-A, Renova), adapalene (Differin) and tazarotene (Tazorac, Avage) are examples of topical prescription products derived from vitamin A. They work by promoting cell turnover and preventing plugging of the hair follicles. A number of topical antibiotics also are available. They work by killing excess skin bacteria. Often, a combination of such products is required to achieve optimal results. A number of benzoyl peroxide and antibiotic combination medications are available, including different dose combinations of benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin (Benzaclin, Duac, Acanya) and benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin (Benzamycin). Prescription topical treatments for acne may cause skin side effects, such as stinging, burning, redness or peeling. Your doctor may recommend steps to minimize these side effects, including using a gradually increased dose, washing off the medication after a short application or switching to another medication.
Antibiotics - For moderate to severe acne, you may need a short course of prescription oral antibiotics to reduce bacteria and fight inflammation. Since oral antibiotics were first used to treat acne, antibiotic resistance has increased significantly in people with acne. For this reason, your doctor likely will recommend tapering off these medications as soon as your symptoms begin to improve, or as soon as it becomes clear the drugs aren't helping — usually, within three to four months. In most cases, you'll use topical medications and oral antibiotics together. Studies have found that using topical benzoyl peroxide along with oral antibiotics may reduce the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics may cause side effects such as an upset stomach, dizziness or skin discoloration. These drugs also increase your skin's sun sensitivity and may also reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
Isotretinoin - For deep cysts, antibiotics may not be enough. Isotretinoin (Accutane) is a powerful medication available for scarring cystic acne or acne that doesn't respond to other treatments. This medicine is reserved for the most severe forms of acne. It's very effective, but people who take it need close monitoring by a dermatologist because of the possibility of severe side effects. Isotretinoin is associated with severe birth defects, so it can't be safely taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant during the course of treatment or within several weeks of concluding treatment. In fact, the drug carries such serious potential side effects that women of reproductive age must participate in a Food and Drug Administration-approved monitoring program to receive a prescription for the drug.

Isotretinoin commonly causes side effects such as dry eyes, mouth, lips, nose and skin, as well as itching, nosebleeds, muscle aches, sun sensitivity and poor night vision. The drug may also increase the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood and may increase liver enzyme levels.

In addition, isotretinoin may be associated with an increased risk of depression and suicide. However, oral contraceptives may cause other side effects — such as headaches, breast tenderness, nausea and depression — that you'll want to discuss with your doctor. The most serious potential complication is a slightly increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and blood clots.

Cervical Cancer

The cervix is a female reproductive organ that forms the lower portion of the uterus or womb. The uterus and cervix lie in the pelvis, on top of the vagina, in between the rectum and bladder. The cervix forms the part of the birth canal that opens to the vagina.

Cervical cancer occurs when cervical cells grow out of control, typically in the transformation zone. When cells grow out of control, they spread and grow throughout the cervix and may invade and destroy neighboring organs or break away and spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Doctors who care for women routinely perform pelvic examinations and a Papanicolaou (Pap) smear to screen for cancer in the cells on the surface of the cervix. During a Pap smear, a sample of cells from the cervix is taken with a small wooden spatula or brush and examined under the microscope. Women may first become aware that they have cervical cancer when a suspicious area is identified during a pelvic examination or an abnormal Pap smear. If a suspicious or a precancerous lesion is found, additional tests will be recommended to determine whether a precancerous lesion or invasive cancer exists.

Symptoms of Cervical Cancer:

Abnormal vaginal bleeding

Bleeding that occurs between regular menstrual periods
Bleeding after sexual intercourse, douching, or a pelvic exam
Menstrual periods that last longer and are heavier than before
Bleeding after menopause

Increased vaginal discharge
Pelvic pain
Pain during sexual intercourse Infections or other health problems may also cause these symptoms. Only a doctor can tell for sure. A woman with any of these symptoms should tell her doctor so that problems can be diagnosed and treated as early as possible.

Stages of Cervical Cancer:

Stage 0: Precancerous lesion involves only the cells on the surface of the cervix.

Stage I: Cancer is confined to the cervix, and may be evident only under microscopic evaluation (stage IA) or apparent by visible or physical examination (stage IB).

Stage II: Cancer has spread beyond the cervix to involve the tissues surrounding the cervix (parametria) or the upper portion of the vagina.

Stage III: Cancer spreads beyond the cervix to the lower vagina or to the sides of the pelvis, or causes a blockage of drainage from the kidney, a condition called hydronephrosis.

Stage IV: Cancer invades structures adjacent to the cervix such as the bladder or rectum or has spread to other parts of the body such as the liver or lungs.

Recurrent/Relapsed: Cervical cancer is still detected or has returned (recurred/relapsed) following an initial treatment with surgery, radiation therapy, and/or chemotherapy.

Three days from now Apple will launch the new iPad 2 as a replacement or modified version of the original iPad. The new tablet, which many Apple watchers are calling the iPad 2, has been a hot rumor-mill topic for weeks now. Reports from numerous sources claim the upcoming iPad will be thinner and lighter than the current iPad original model, which began shipping last April.

The new iPad is dual core, front and rear facing cameras (the latter able to shoot in HD video), an all new A5 dual core CPU and nine times more powerful GPU.

The new iPad is also 33% thinner, with the 8.4mm frame even sleeker than the iPhone 4, and is down to 1.3 pounds (590g) in weight, which is around 15% lighter than the first version. Apple is promising to keep the same 10 hour battery life, The new iPad 2 will be shipping with iOS 4.3, which adds preferences over what to do with the side-mounted rocker switch. The new iPad 2 will be available in black and white colors.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, also known as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, is the most common type of arthritis in children under the age of 16.

The cause of Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is not known.
It is thought to be an autoimmune illness. In this type of condition, the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.

It is divided into several categories:

Systemic Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis - involves joint swelling or pain, fevers, and rash. It is the least common category.
Polyarticular Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis - involves many joints. This form of Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis may turn into rheumatoid arthritis. It may involve large and small joints of the legs and arms, as well as the TMJ and cervical spine.
Pauciarticular Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis - involves only a few joints, usually the hips, knees, or ankles.

There are three main types of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis:

Oligoarthritis - This variety affects fewer than five joints during the first six months of the disease. It also is the variety most likely to feature eye inflammation, which can cause blindness in rare cases.
Polyarthritis - This variety affects five or more joints during the first six months of the disease. Signs and symptoms are usually confined to the joints.
Systemic - Formerly known as Still's disease, this type can feature swollen lymph nodes, rashes and fever — which may come and go quickly. It can also cause inflammation of internal organs.

The most common signs and symptoms of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis are:

Pain
Joint stiffness
Joints may be warm or swollen and sometimes red
Limited range of motion
A child may stop using an affected limb or may limp
Back pain
Eye pain / Red eyes
Increased pain when looking at light (photophobia)
Vision changes
Enlarged liver
Enlarged spleen
Swollen lymph nodes

Tests and diagnosis

Some of the most common blood tests for suspected cases of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis include:

         -Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) test
         - In many children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, no significant
     abnormality will be found in these blood tests.
         -Urinalysis with microscopic examination

Imaging studies:

   -Radiography on affected joints.
         -Bone scaanning
         -MRI
         -CT csaniing of long bones
   -Echochardiography

Other procedures:

      -Arthrocentesis
      -Arthrocentesis
          -Pericardiocentesis

Perform dual-energy radiograph absorptiometry (DXA) scanning to document osteopenia in children with polyarticular juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Medications

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Doctors use these medications when NSAIDs alone fail to relieve symptoms of joint pain and swelling. They may be taken in combination with NSAIDs and are used to slow the progress of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
methotrexate (Rheumatrex)
sulfasalazine (Azulfidine).
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blockers.
Corticosteroids.

NOTE: it's important to follow a doctor's instructions on usage.

In very severe cases of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, surgery may be needed to improve the position of a joint.

PC Tablets is one of the most handy computers or gadget that we can carry every day besides laptops. Like for instance this new technology created by Samsung the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G Verizon", to think that Samsung Galaxy plus Verizons technology together. This is amazing and worth waiting for to be out soon.

The new and improved version of original Samsung Galaxy Tab was unveiled at CES 2011. Samsung’s CEO announced on stage at Verizon’s press conference during CES that a LTE-equiped version of the Samsung Galaxy is going to be released soon. The already best seller and optimized 7 inch tablet now will run on 4G LTE network of Verizon. It has a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. The rear facing camera was boosted to 5MP from 3MP. Very sturdy, lightweight, portable and due to nicely optimized Android 2.2 Froyo OS, the Samsung tablet will be selling in great numbers in 2011 as well.

Dozens of latest gadget will be on the market soon, maybe this year or next year, but we all should choose wisely about the gadgets were buying.

The <input /> element is used to create a text fields, radio button, check box, submit button, reset button or file upload within the form element.

The <input type="text" /> element creates a one line text fields in which information like name and address are entered.

The <input type="password" /> element creates a one line password text field in which characters entered are placed by asterisks (*) or solid dots. This type of input element offers slight security and privacy when a user is logging into a system in which it prevents someone else to peek at the secrete password.

The <input type="checkbox" /> element creates a small square filled with a check mark. This type of input element is used when you want your user to have several options to choose.

The ,input type="radio" /> element creates a small rounded filled with a dot. Unlike the check box, a user can only select one option in a set. In order to have a set of radio buttons, each element should have the same value of the name attribute.

The <input type="file" /> element provides the ability to have a control that can upload a file. It looks like a text field but has a "browse" button beside it.

The <input type="submit" /> element creates a button that will submit all the information of the form.

The <input type="reset" /> element creates a button that will reset all the form controls into its initial values.

The <input type="button" /> element creates an ordinary button that has no default function. This type of input element is used client-side script like Javascript to trigger events.

The <input type="image" /> element acts like a submit button but allows to substitute the standard button with an image.

The <input type="hidden" /> element creates a control that holds data that cannot be seen or viewed by users.

Listed below are the most common attributes you can use for the input element:

checked - sets the states of the check box to be checked.
class - provides the class or classes of the heading. This attribute is used to identify the name of the style class or classes to be used for rendering.
disabled - sets the state of the input element to be disabled in which it cannot be selected or controlled.
height - sets the height in pixels (px) of the input element.
id - provides a unique name for the input element.
maxlength - sets the number of characters a text field can hold.
name - provides a name for the input element.
readonly - sets the state of the text field to be readonly.
size - sets the size in pixels (px) of the text field.
src - provides the Uniform resource Locator (URL) of the graphics file of the image input element.
style - provides a cascading style sheet (CSS) properties to the input element.
tabindex - sets the position of the tabbing order of the input element.
title - privides a text title for the heading. Most web browser displays the value of the title as "tooltip".
type - provides the type of control the input element will create.
value - provides the input element value. For text fields, check boxes & radio buttons, it provides the initial value. For submit buttons, reset buttons & generic buttons, it provides the name that is displayed at the center of the button.
width - sets the width in pixels (px) of the input element.
