[CAT] Aquí la perduda de nou...un parell de mesos out i intentant agafar el ritme...s'acosta el final de curs i entre una cosa i l'altra això ha anat quedant enrere...i és que admiro a aquella gent que té temps fins i tot de fer posts setmanals (i no diguem diaris)...molta disciplina...
En fi, jo aprofito que Delaviuda m'ha endulçat la setmana per parlar-vos de què es tracta.
I és que qui no coneix els mítics turrons de Delaviuda?...i tot sovint només ens quedem en això...Doncs no!
Ara acaben de llançar botiga on-line on pots preparar regalets personalitzats com el que m'han fet arribar...és super fàcil de fer.

Primer vas i esculls el tipus de caixeta...
Després tries quina de les delícies hi vols dins...difícil...pots escollir entre bombons, figures de massapa, ametlles farcides, bombonetti o florentines (que és el que jo vaig triar).
Finalment ho dediques (tenen diferents temàtiques i tipografies a escollir) i ja apunt per enviar...

I no sabeu la ilu que em van fer! Com ja he dit estem a recta final de curs i tot és un pèl estressant...què millor que arribar a casa i tenir unes caixetes de bombons apunt per menjar!

Here it is! Handmade Festival 2015

[CAT] Que sí, que ja ha passat un any, i que ja tornem a tenir aquí el Handmade Festival..."menus" mal que passar anys endavant també ens duu coses positives com caps de setmanes crafty per excel·lència amb aquest tipus de fires...ufff.
I és que ens esperen tres dies d'expositors, tallers, masterclass, xerrades, concerts, mercats, demostracions, i activitats vàries!!
No sé si ho recordeu, però l'any passat ja hi vaig anar, amb Las Niñas Antiguas i el duet de trempades de Demodé Books. Aquest any encara no sé amb qui hi aniré perquè les anteriors estàn tant ansioses que ja hi van demà, i una menda curra, que algú ha d'aixecar el país senyors...

Jo m'ho vaig passar teta i a sobre em vaig firar amb uns quants tresors que tinc com a "oro en paño", amos!

Aquest any, que sembla que ja tenim més embranzida, la cosa promet i molt, doncs la llista d'expositors ha anat creixent i tenen com a padrins uns bons amants del DIY...sinó, passeu per l'exposició de les coses fetes fins ara al Ja t'ho faràs!

I és que...falten hores als dies i més si només disposaré del diumenge per poder anar a fer l'excursió...entre que demà aixeco el país i que dissabte tinc compromís familiar...

He descobert amb alegria el nou apartat del món DIY Japonès...i em moro per fer-ne tots els tallers...quina pintorra tots! (I encara m'encanta més quan descobreixo que per allà també rondaràn els de la fabulosa cafeteria Usagui...moro d'amor directament).

Que encara voleu més novetats? Doncs prepareu les llanes el dia de la vostra visita i gaudiu d'una sessió de Cine Knitting amb pelis com Little Miss Sunshine!!! Crec que m'està apunt d'agafar un atac...

Abans una s'havia de preparar per assistir a Festivals Musicals...ara...ens preparem per Festivals DIY! Toma ya!

[ENG] This last week has been a slow one...I didn't want to run at all times so I took my time...and at the very last minute I prepared the post for today...But everything is going back to normal and I want to keep this up to date, at least for the couple of people who come around, ehehh.

I don't quite know how I discovered Bored Panda, but I saw this pictures of babies in disguise, and since I saw the new trailer for the new Star Wars movie...I thought it would be a good idea to show it here. It is a series of different pictures, and they all look to cute and geek...You'd better have a look.
I'm bringing two ideas from Tilly and the Buttons this week; the first one is this lovely skirt pattern...

[ENG] It doesn't matter how organised your life is, or how organised you are yourself, life is just filled with misteries and surprises (good and bad ones) and sometimes you just have to go with the flow. As I am doing right now. I'm still on easter holidays this week (so lucky you might think) and my super plan was to knit three thousand hours in order to continue the KAL, I wanted to cook loads of things and I wanted to post thousands of interesting things...But I did something else instead and now I'm healing at home... I'm surrounded by people who loves me, and that makes things easier. Oh yes...I'm a little bit dizzy and bruised but I feel grateful. THANK YOU.

Anyway... I have a little time now, and writing also helps me to relax so I want to show you some cool stuff...I hope you like it

[CAT] No importa com d'organitzada tens la vida, o com d'organitzada és una mateixa, la vida és simplement plena de misteris i de sorpreses (bones i dolentes) i a vegades l'únic que pots fer és deixar fluir. I és el que estic fent ara mateix. De fet, jo encara sóc de vacances de setmana santa (afortunada jo deureu pensar) i el meu super plan de dona super organitzada era poder teixir mil hores per tal de continuar el KAL, també volia cuinar un munt de coses xules i escriure un piló de coses interessant per reanimar l'activitat del blog...però en comptes de tot això he fet algo diferent i ara sóc a casa recuperant-me...i me n'he adonat que estic envoltada de gent que m'estima (molta), i això ho fa molt més fàcil. I tant... ara estic una mica grogui i adolorida però em sento agraïda. GRÀCIES!

De totes maneres...ara tinc una mica de temps i escriure també em relaxa, així que us intento duur una selecció de coses xules, a veure què us sembla

Easter Eggs

[ENG] Well, well, easter is gone but I still have to show you part of my easter eggs (remember I had to prepare four of them!). These are the ones I did using this recipe. It takes a while to do it but the results are amazing. The brownie was delicious and my nephews were thrilled with the surprise.

[CAT] Bé doncs la pasqua ja ha passat però jo encara no us he ensenyat part de les meves mones (recordeu que n'havia de fer quatre). Aquestes son les que vaig fer utilitzant aquesta recepta. És una mica entretingut però els resultats són "estupendus"...el brownie estava boníssim i els meus nebots van flipar amb la sorpresa (i amb el llit de "quesitos" que dèia l'enano).

[CAT] Potser és perquè estic de vacances o potser és que no estic tant inspirada, però aquesta setmana he de confessar que m'ha costat una mica més...ains...amos, que m'hi he trencat un pèl més (o menys, depèn de com es miri) les banyes...i potser algunes propostes haurien anat millor la setmana passada...però llavors no les tenia!

Let's eat...."Brunyols" de l'Empordà

[ENG] Yes, I didn't even bother to translate the recipe's name...but you know what? I guess that some things like our own name shouldn't change...

For those who are not familiar with Easter recipes, this one is popular around the Empordà, in the north east of Catalunya, and they are just delicious...especially the recipe I'm bringing today, from a family friend. I haven't reached yet her level but at least I have her recipe...

Ingredients (for 1 kg)

1 kg hard wheat flour

4 eggs

2 spoons aniseeds

2 lemon zest

200 ml milk

8 spoons soda water

75 g yeast

1/2 cup anise liquor

30 g salt

150 g sugar

180 g margarine

Mix warm (not hot!) milk with yeast (to dissolve) and then add enough flour to have some dough...leave it growing meanwhile preparing the rest of the ingredients.

Mix the rest of the ingredients: first flour, sugar and salt; add the lemon zest and aniseeds; finally add the margarine, the eggs and the liquor... knead it with the dough you previously prepared, long enough so the yeast will have some warmth, enough oxygen and energy in order to respire (oh yeah, in fact it is like making a chemistry/biology experiment. Knead it thoroughly, otherwise it won't rise and they'll be hard as stone...and we don't want that!!

Let it rise for 2 hours (you'll know it's ok when pressing it a little bit, it'll go back to the original position).

Fry it in sunflower oil (not to hot) and then pass them trough some sugar.

[CAT] Fa temps vaig decicir que apart de fer receptes super hipsters i molonguis d'aquelles que veus per Pinterest també faria el possible de seguir fent coses tant nostrades com dolços de setmana santa. Jo, que consti, sóc atea, però una cosa és la religió i l'altre és l'estòmac...i amb aquest últim no s'hi juga...jajaja

En fi, una d'aquestes receptes són els "brunyols" (amb R doncs a Girona som així de fins i ben parlats) que els faig des que vaig aconseguir LA recepta. I LA recepta ve d'una amiga de la família, la Joana, que els fa boníssims...tinc la recepta però a mi encara no em surten igual...seguirem practicant!

Ingredients (per 1 kg)

1 kg de farina de força

4 ous

2 cullerades de matafaluga (la clau)

Pela ratllada de 2 llimones

200 ml de llet

8 cullerades de gasosa (uns 50 g)

75 g de llevat fresc

1/2 got d'anís (de fet, va una mica a ull, però en tot cas els podeu ruixar més un cop fets)

30 g de sal

150 g de sucre

180 g de farina.

Per una banda barreja llet tèbia (no calenta, que no volem matar el llevat) amb el llevat i una mica de farina per fer una bola de massa que comenci a créixer...(atenció, només una mica de farina...no sé...uns 200g?)

Per altra banda barreja la resta d'ingredients, començant per secs (farina, sal, sucre, matafaluga i llimona) i tot seguit els líquids (margarina, licor, ous) i anem fent una massa a la que afegirem la bola que ja tenim creixent.

Ho hem d'amassar MOLT BÉ sinó seràn pedres...el cas és que el llevat ha d'estar calentó i ha de tenir prou oxigen (per això anem plegant la massa, per atrapar oxigen a dins) perquè comenci la festa... No escatimeu "munyeques"...però si teniu amassadora elèctrica, us ho facilitarà.

Deixeu que llevi un parell d'hores (sabreu que està llest quan apreteu una mica amb un dit i la massa torni a lloc).

Fregiu en oli de girasol (si utilitzeu d'oli el sabor és massa fort) i un cop escorregut arrebosseu amb sucre per fora....

I visca el règim!!!

Sempre que veig massa creixent penso en la peli del Dormilón...no sé per què...ejejej

[ENG] I've just realised that inspiration never stops...although it is time consuming to find cool things to bring you every week, I always end up with a pretty nice selection, or at least I have this feeling. And in fact, any selection of any other blog you check has always good stuff too...So, ideas everywhere!

The Makery sell differnt kits to create different things, but the one about the knickers is just perfect! It comes with the cherry!
Since I discoverd them I've always wanted a Blythe doll, but I'm not sure if I would be able to take care of her properly, so having this mug from Alice Blice instead isn't a bad idea...

[CAT] Me n'acabo d'adonar que la inspiració, o si més no les idees, no s'acaba mai...tot i que et pren molt temps el fet de buscar idees, penso que al final sempre acabo amb una llista prou xula de coses, si més no és la sensació que en tinc jo. I de fet, si mires qualsevol selecció de qualsevol altre blog, sempre hi trobes coses xulíssimes també (i diferents!)...així que...idees arreu!

Let's eat...crème caramel

[ENG] Oh my god, I've just looked for the english translation for "flam" and I'm amazed...crème caramel...oh la la!

Well ladies, as you know, I'm pretty busy for easter preparing the easter eggs and surprises so I decided to start emptying eggs today (I'm doing this recipe for my nephews) and so I had plenty of raw eggs...and I decided to prepare the crème caramel I'm showing you today.

You'll need:

3 cups of warm milk
1/2 cup of sugar
6 eggs

For the caramel:

100 g sugar
4 spoons of water
patience... ;)

Mix the milk and sugar into a pan and stir it until dissolved meanwhile in low heat.

Whisk eggs for about 2 minutes and add them to the milk + sugar (slowly because we don't want to cook the eggs yet).

On the other hand, use a pan to melt sugar with water, not too strong fire until melted and brown but not too dark (otherwise it will ruin the taste). Once done, quickly pour it into the mould.

Add mixture into mould too and put into 180ºC preheated oven, cooking it in bain-marie for about 30 minutes.

Let it cool down on the kitchen and refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.

[CAT] Jajajj, que bo, mai hauria dit que del Flam els anglesos en dirien crème caramel...el que aprèn una porai...

En fi, com sabeu noies, ja vaig una mica atabalada amb el tema de la setmana santa i les mones que he de fer, així que avui he pensat en començar a adelantar feina i buidar ja uns quants ous (vull fer aquesta recepta que ja us havia comentat) i clar, m'he trobat amb un munt d'ous...així que, flam s'ha dit!

I aquí us en duc la recepta.

Necessitareu:

3 tasses de llet calenta
1/2 tassa de sucre
6 ous

Pel caramel (sí, sí, aquest també l'he fet!)

For the caramel:

100 g sucre
4 cullerades d'aigua
un pèl de paciència...

Barregeu la llet i el sucre a un pot fins que es dissolgui mentre ho manteniu a baixa temperatura. No volem que arribi a bullir, només que estigui calenta.

Bateu els ous un parell de minuts i barregeu-ho tot però a poc a poc doncs no volem que l'ou se'ns cogui de sobte...no cal córrer.

Per altra banda, prepara el caramel posant el sucre i l'aigua a un pot al foc i deixa que vagi fonent-se i canviant de color (compte perquè del daurat al torrat/cremat) hi ha un no res! Un cop llest aboca-ho ràpidament al motlle.

Afegeix l'altra barreja i posa al forn (prèviament calentat a 180ºC) i cuina-ho al bany maria una mitja horeta.

Deixa'l refredar al marbre de la cuina i tingues-ho a la nevera unes 6 hores abans de servir.

Bon profit!

DIY or die...oh yes...great name for a web page, isn't it? This diy seems very,very easy...it all depends, I guess, on how good you are drawing nice faces on lamps...ejjeje
Melkatsa. Oh, yes, I am obsessed with Totoro and when I saw this one I just had to check who she was...and appart from popular characters, she creates wonderful plush toys.
Mimi Kirchner is a fiber artist that had the idea to sew lumberjacks, as incredible as the one in the picture. I love the tattoos they wear!
What a discovery! A pair and a spare has an amazing diy and I just love the lace trimmed top, don't you?
This recipe from Kanela y Limón makes me thing about the one my mum and I used to prepare for my birthday parties when I was a kid...lovely memories.

Melkatsa. Que encara no sabíeu de la meva passió per Totoro?! I clar, al veure aques ninot fantabulós, automàticament vaig haver de buscar qui era la seva creadora, i resulta que fa unes coses xulíssimes!

I res, per acabar, una recepta de Kanela y Limón que em recorda mogollón al pastís que feia amb ma mare quan preparàvem les festes de cumple de quan era petita...segur que vosatres també havieu fet alguna vegada el pastís de les galetes sucades en llet...boníssim!

Let's eat...Two Colour Bread

[ENG] You might already know Iban Yarza, a bread lover and a very good teacher. Today I'm bringing you one of his recipes. It is easy to prepare and not very time consuming. What makes this special is the red colour from the mashed strawberries.

You'll need:

White flour 300g

Water 85-90g

Milk 85-90g

Butter 30g

Sugar 15g

Salt 6g

Fresh yeast 6g (2g if using dry yeast)

here we go...

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until homogeneous and let rise for 10 minutes. Afterwards, keep working on the table surface for 10 more minutes (a little sticky at the beginning) to make a soft and silky dough. Let it rise in a bowl 1'5-2 hours (until a finger leaves a trace). Punch doughs down and place the final loaf (seam side down) into a greased loaf pan (about 22 cm long). Let the loaf rise for about 2 hours (until doubles its volume). Bake in a preheated 220ºC oven for 35 minutes. For the last 5 minutes remove it from the loaf pan and late it bake evenly.

What about the colour? Easy, take half of the ingredients and change the liquid ingredients for fruit puree (raspberry here). Mix the two doughs just before the loaf pan rise.

Et voilà!

[CAT] Segurament, a aquestes alçades, no hi ha cap "cocinillas" que no sàpiga qui és Iban Yarza, un panarra per excel·lència i un molt bon divulgador.

Doncs bé, avui, la recepta que us duc és el seu pa de motlle de dos colors. Super fàcil de fer i boníssim. A part de tenir una posada en escena molt, molt xula pel fet del color vermellós de part de la massa.

Necessitareu:

Farina panificable 300g

Aigua 85-90g

Llet 85-90g

Mantega 30g

Sucre 15g

Sal 6g

Llevat 6g (2g si utilitzes llevat sec)

Amos pallá...

Barreja tots els ingredients fins a tenir una massa homogènia i deixa-ho reposar tapat 10 minuts. Un cop passat aquest temps treballa la massa a la taula (que s'enganxarà una mica al principi però amb un parell de minuts ja no s'hauria de passar) uns 10 minuts fins que estigui fina i satinada. Tot seguit deixa-la fermentar a un bol 1'5-2 hores (fins que al pressionar amb un dit, quedi una petita marca). Llavors posa-la a la taula i desgasa-la apretant els costats de manera homogenia i plegant finalment els extrems com si de les solapes d'un llibre es tractés, segellant bé la massa amb els polzes. Posa-ho al motlle (d'uns 22 cm) untat en oli i deixa que fermenti un parell d'hores fins que dobli el seu volum de sobra. Pinta'l amb llet i forneja a 220ºC durant uns 35 minuts. Cinc minuts abans d'acabar, treu-lo del motlle i cou a la reixa perquè quedi tot dauradet.

I on està el tema del color?? Bé doncs, fins ara seria per un pa de motlle blanc. Si voleu donar-li un "toque" agafeu la meitat de la massa i la part líquida (o sigui, llet i aigua) la substituiu per purè de fruites...jo he fet servir frambuesa en aquest cas. Barregeu lleugerament les dues masses just abans de posar-les a fermentar al motlle.

[ENG] Another monday, another How cool is That?! and today, as you can see...no recipes! I'm trying to control myself... What is present for sure is orange colour and foxes...wonderful creatures...knitted, paper crafted, as brooches or as pillows...I just love them!

Brocheteando; Marta is a crafter lover and everything she creates is 100% handmade. Brooches, necklaces, earrings...adorable.
Tilly and the Buttons was on the first season of The Great British Sewing Bee, a BBC program. The one in the picture is the Françoise pattern and I'd love to sew it some day (another thing on the list...)
Paper Wolf is a Stuttgart-based designer (Wolfram Kampffmeyer) who creates geometric paper sculptures that range from taxidermy trophies to standalone animals that come flat-packet with detailed instructions on how to fold and assemble yourself. Isn't it great??
Darling Clementine consists of designers Tonje Holand and Ingrid Reithaug. Since 2006 they have created timeless stationery and homeware. And I just love the animal pillows...
Den Dennis...well, the most amazing thing (after the amigurumis he creates) is that he is a HE!! Oh yeah, a man using crochet hooks to built up super wonderful amigurumis.

DIY, Faux Taxidermy Paper Rabbit Head

[ENG] A couple of weeks ago I so this wonderful Paper Rabbit Taxidermy and I thought it would be a good idea to use it as an Easter present. As you might know, I already have 2 godsons and 1 goddaughter. Tanit its about to be 6 months in some days and as you can imagine, she doesn't know of the existance of chocolate easter eggs so...how about a paper rabbit?

The original pattern is from Chloe Fleury, a paper artist, and the pattern and instructions can be downloaded here.

It is very easy to do, and the result is wonderful.

I just added a green background for my pink rabbit and crocheted a motiff all around to give it an extra touch.

[CAT] Fa un parell de setmanes vaig veure aquesta falsa taxidermia que representa un conill i obviament ja em va venir una idea al cap...setmana santa! i la mona! Com potser ja sabeu, a aquestes alçades ja tinc dos fillols i una fillola, i per la mona se m'acumula la feina doncs sempre procuro fer algo a mà...Total, la meva fillola, no té ni 6 mesos i encara no sap de l'existència de la xocolata amb lo qual vaig pensar que això seria una bona idea, i seria un record de la seva primera mona...(algo de xocolata caurà, no patiu...que els seus pares sí que en mengen!).

El patró original és de l'artista Chloe Fleury i el seu patró es pot descarregar aquí.

Com veureu és molt fàcil de fer, i el resultat és molt xulo. I té infinitat de possibilitats; tot depèn del toc que li volgueu donar. Al meu li he fet un fons verd (per no fer-ho massa cursi) amb un ribet de ganxet que el fa un pèl barroc (espero que el seu pare no me'l foti pel cap).

[ENG] One of the things I remember the most from my summers in Tamariu, are the flour omelettes my dad use to cook there, a real heavenly delicacy, believe me.

It was a sort of tradition to cook them there and nowhere else, so now that we don't go there any more, he doesn't cook them either...and amongst this one, so many other unstablished rituals such as taking sparkling water and chips on our sailing days...(I can feel the pinch in the heart right now....)

Anyway, the thing is that you might not know this recipe but it was very common during the spanish postwar when there wasn't much and families where big (like my dad's with four other brothers and sisters). The plan was to create a large omelette by using only 1 egg and adding flour...so everyone could eat. It is like a french crepe but with much more flour.

It just came to my mind today so here I bring you the recipe. Try it and tell me!

You'll need

2 spoons of plain flour

1 egg

water

salt

oil

Mix flour with water until you get a silky paste, not to watery, not to dry, and then add the egg and a pinch of salt.

In a big pan, add a little oil, and when hot enough pour the mixture and start cooking gently, turning the omelette around from time to time until the flour is cooked. Use medium to low fire because you don't want to burn the outside, leaving the inside uncooked.

You see? It is very easy and cheap! But just one tip, you must eat it while still hot, otherwise it isn't that good.

[CAT] Una de les coses que més recordo del món mundial dels meus estius a Tamariu, eren les truites de farina que feia el meu pare, un autèntic "manjar de dioses".

Era com una espècie de tradició fer-les a Tamariu i no enlloc més, així que ara que no hi ha Tamariu (ains, punxada al cor) doncs també s'han acabat les truites de farina (així com molts dels rituals no establerts amb el meu pare, com sempre agafar una ampolla de Vichy i patates fregides per anar amb barca...ics...super punxada al cor i llagrimeta).

Anyway, el cas és que no sé si les coneixeu però es tracta de menjar de postguerra que el meu pare se n'havia fet un fart però que és absolutament exquisit. A casa del meu pare eren 5 germans i per tant, igual que a moltes altres cases i també per escassetat de menjar, les truites s'allargaven amb farina. Vindria a ser com una crep però amb molta més farina i més gruixuda. I no sé perquè m'ha vingut la nostàlgia i les ganes de fer-la i compartir la recepta amb vosaltres.

Amos pallà; necessitareu:

2 cullerades de farina

1 ou

Aigua

Sal

Oli

En un plat fons poseu 2 cullerades de farina (o més, tot depèn de quant la volgueu allargar) i afegiu una mica d'aigua just per fer-ne una pasteta i que ajudi a desfer la farina. No us passeu d'aigua, tampoc no volem que quedi massa líquida. Rotllo papilla està bé. Un cop llest, afegiu l'ou i barregeu bé.

A una paella gran (la truita és rodona i no es plega) hi poseu una mica d'oli i un cop calent aboqueu la barreja i aneu coent poc a poc fins que quedi rossa. El truc és anar-la girant (a casa meva el meu pare feia servir un plat metàl·lic que conservo jo ara, i que m'encanta) diverses vegades. Penseu que s'ha de fer amb calma perquè la farina es cogui.

Et voilà!

Ah, sobretot, mengeu-la calenta!! I em dieu què tal!!!

[ENG] I don't know why but weeks seem to be shorter when you have a purpose in life...and as you know, my new purpose is to reach a new week and be able to bring you new cool stuff, which as I already said, it is not that easy. But here we are again, fourth week in a row...and counting!

Here we go!

Marie Polet is a new fashion brand but not only this, it is handmade and just super wonderful, or what do you think about the Pinocchio's blouse?!
Another thing on my "things to learn" list is to learn how to embroider like Yumiko Higuchi or at least something close enough...but I might be asking for a big thing...
We are close to Easter holidays and as you know (or might know it now) I always prepare the easter eggs for my godsons and I think this year I will surprise them with this chocolate brownie eggs from La Receta de la Felicidad.
Do you like pompons? What about this pompon toy playset tutorial?
So in love with this crocheted caravan from Greedy for colour.
And another recipe today...(I should reconsider looking for cool stuff meanwhile I'm hungry), some parmesan baked popcorn shrimp. Yummy.

[CAT] Jo no sé vosaltres però les setmanes sembla que passen més ràpid si una té un propòsit a la vida...i com bé sabeu, el meu nou propòsit a la vida és arribar a la setmana vinent i ensenyar-vos un pilonet de coses noves i xules, i com ja us he dit, no és gens fàcil (amos, si més no a mi no m'ho sembla). Però aquí estem de nou, ja la quarta setmana seguida...i contant!

[CAT] Qui de totes les "crafteres" que ronden per aquí no ha vist mai la revista Labores del Hogar? És més, qui no ha comprat mai algún dels seus fascicles de temes de manualitats? Jo, personalment, i fa mooooooooolts anys, vaig començar a fer la col·lecció de punt de creu, quan encara no en sabia massa i em començava a agradar el món "crafty", tot i que llavor li deiem manualitats (així, a pelo....que agosarades!)
Bé, doncs el cas és que us duc una oferta molt interessant i que a més val molt la pena. Ni més ni menys que una subscripció anual a la revista amb un 40% de descompte! Ah, i no només això, a sobre, us regalen, segons la oferta que et faci més gràcia

[ENG] Third week in a row!! I seems to be working, isn't it?

I'm a little bit obsessed about finding super cool stuff in order to have something nice and creative every week, but I think this week is (again) a cool one, referring to this section. Just have a look and judge for yourself!

Shall we?

From left to right and top do bottom we have...

Manomine creates these wonderful felt creatures. I was planning on putting a ginger fox but the one in the picture it's just gorgeous. I wish I had her outfit!
The second one is a tutorial on how to make anb edible peony using rice paper... it may not be the easiest thing, specially because you need specific edible material but I thing the result is pretty amazing.
As you now I want to learn and do loads of things, and sewing (or at least sewing more) is one of them. The other day I saw this blouse form Delphine et Morissette and I immediately fell in love. They also sell other pretty patterns. Have a look at their page and decide which one you love the most. Oh, and they have tutorials on how to follow the patterns and so...
A tv recommendation, In the Flesh. I just had to. A zombies series...(yes...) but nothing to do with what you are thinking right now. It is a drama that focuses on a reanimated teenager and his return to his local community.
Have you seen this lovely mug? Well, you can make your own by using the tutorial from Kireii magazine.
And the last one for to they a series of illustrations called women in Science (oh yes, women do GREAT science too...others, like me, teach it..jejeje) . I especially like the one on Marie Curie.

[CAT] Tercera setmana seguida!! "Nem" bé, "nem" bé....

Resulta que ara de cop estic obsessionada en trobar coses xules per poder posar aquí coses prou adequades cada setmana, però crec que aquesta setmana (de nou) me n'he ensortit (modèstia apart)...Sinó, mireu què us duc avui i em dieu el què.

Comencem?

D'esquerra a dreta i de dalt a baix tenim...

Les criatures de feltre de Manomine son una passada de xules. En principi volia posar una guineu pèl roja però és que aquesta és taaant xula. Ojalà tingués el seu estil!
Aquí la segona aportació de la setmana, un tutoria per fer peonies comestibles utilitzant paper d'arrós...potser no serà la cosa més simple de fer, bàsicament pels materials que es necessiten (que tampoc no són rars, però si no ho utilitzes, implica que ho hauràs de comprar) tot i que crec que si una es decideix a fer-les el resultat és molt xulo.
Com bé sabeu jo vull fer i aprendre un munt de coses, i una és cosir (o sí més no cosir més). Així que quan l'atre dia vaig veure aquesta camisa de Delphine et Morissette em vaig enamorar de cop. Apart d'aquest patró en venen d'altres també molt xulos. Sinó mireu la seva pàgina on a sobre trobareu tutorials per fer les peces amb ajuda, encara que sigui virtual.
Ara una recomanació de la tele, In the Flesh. Havia de, ho sento. Una sèrie de zombies...(si...) però res a veure amb el que ara mateix esteu pensant. És un drama que es centra en un adolescent "reanimat" i la seva reinserció a la societat. Durilla però impressionant.
Havieu vist abans aquesta tassa tant xula? Bé, doncs ara la podeu fer seguint el tutorial de la revista Kireii.
I l'última idea de la setmana són aquestes il·lustracions xulíssimes titulades dones a la Ciència (oh sí, les dones fan una GRAN ciència també...d'altres, com jo, l'ensenyem...jejej). M'agrada molt aquesta de Marie Curie.

[ENG] Have you ever wondered what to do with that awful amount of oil that's left after cooking? Well, one thing is for sure. NEVER, EVER down the sink! Are we clear? As you perfectly know, water and oil don't mix together, and here is the reason why you should think about another solution. And one is to make homemade soap that it turns to be the best one in order to get rid of difficult stains...

And today I made my very first homemade oil, thanks to Tres Pompones...again! Please check her recipe because it is very easy to follow. You just have to be careful while mixing the final solution because and to work somewhere ventilated since lye can harm your respiratory system (it is corrosive)

[CAT] Us heu preguntat mai què fer amb les quantitats ingents d'oli que us queda de cuinar? Bé, doncs una cosa és segura, MAI, MAI, MAI per la pica!! Queda clar? Perquè com bé sabeu, l'aigua i l'oli no es barregen, i aquesta és la raó per la qual heu de pensar en una altra solució. I una, que té més anys que la tinya, és fer sabó a partir de l'oli usat, que a més, no us ho perdeu, neteja que no vegis!!

Jo avui he fet el meu primer sabó, gràcies, altre cop a Tres Pompones i la seva recepta fantàstica. No us la perdeu. Molt fàcil de fer però amb algunes precaucions...alhora de barrejar-ho tot al final perquè no es talli i que s'ha de treballar a un lloc ben ventilat doncs la sosa càustica és corrosiva i els seus vapors poden danyar les vies respiratories.

Com si ho hagués fet tota la vida!

Pleased to Meet You: Kate Hindley

[ENG] Today's Pleased to Meet You should also be on the How cool is that section?! but I just want to spend a little more time with this wonderful illustrator and show you a little bit of her work.

Kate Hindley is a british illustrator settled in Birmingham (not far from the chocolate factory, as she says).

She studied illustration at Falmouth College of Art and went on to work for two years as a children's print designer in Northampton, whilst working freelance on children's books and greetings cards.

She has exhibited her work across the UK and has published different childs books.

Her illustrations are so cute! You can buy her work on etsy (although she's having a short vacation lately) and on Society6 .

[CAT] El Pleased to Meet You d'avui potser hauria d'anar a la secció de How cool is that però és que us volia ensenyar amb més calma la feina tant xula d'aquesta il·lustradora. La Kate Hindley és una il·lustradora anglesa afincada a Birmingham (prop de la fàbrica de xocolata, com diu ella).

Va estudiar il·lustració a l'escola d'art de Falmouth i va anar a treballar per un parell d'anys com a dissenyadora infantil a Northampton, mentre treballava d'autònom fent llibres infantils i postals de felicitació.

Ha exposat a diferents punts del regne unit i ha publicat llibres infantils.

A while ago I did some gluten free cookies because a friend of mine suffers from coeliac disease and last week she asked me to put the recipe here...I haven't found the one but here you'll get a similar one. You must change the flour for corn flour and problem solved! They were yummy!

El problema és que espero ser prou constant i per tant procuraré portar-vos les novetats cada...setmana? Em sembla una mica difícil coneguent-me però suposo que encara estic amb el "subidón" dels propòsits d'any nou i penso que si d'altres poden...jo també!!!

De l'esquerra a la dreta i començant per dalt, avui us porto tot això:

Patró i tutorial d'aquesta preciosa balena feta per Valaan Villapaita. No us sembla la balena més preciosa del món?!
Galetes de romaní i formatge cheddar. Fan pintorra i a sobre no semblen gens difícils.
Idees per reutilitzar. Trobareu diverses idees al link que no semblen gens complicades.
Colour me Good. Aquesta troballa s'endú la palma. Com dir que no a res que impliqui a Ryan Gosling ni que sigui per pintar?? Es tracta d'il·lustracions fetes a mà per Mel Elliot i que després cadascú pinta com vol. El repertori de llibrets la veritat que mola molt!

Let's go Shopping: Mokuba

[ENG] The other day I went (again) to the shop I want to talk about today, Mokuba, a shop where you can find any ribbon you are thinking of...and it's great because I had a vague idea about what I was looking for but not a clear one, so I had the chance to spend a little while there trying to find the good one.

At the end I bought a turquoise cotton ribbon that I used to sew my fabulous vintage bag. I'm super happy with the result.

Anyway, the thing is that we have this shop in town and if you need a ribbon, you definitely must go there.

[CAT] L'altre dia vaig anar (de nou) a la botiga de la que us vull parlar avui, Mokuba, una botiga on pots trobar qualsevol tipus de cinta imaginable...això sí, només venen cintes, així que no espereu trobar-hi res més.

I és que el lloc és una passada, amb passadissos de cintes on triar a remenar. Guai si no tens una idea clara del que vols, però si no tens idea en absolut t'hi pots morir abans no trobes allò que vols, perquè en realitat ho vols tot!

Jo tenia una idea aproximada del que buscava. Una cinta de "viu" per poder cosir a la bossa super xula que m'he fet. Com la tela és una mica com de sac, vaig tirar per una espècie de cordonet de cotó turquesa. Super guai.

Però "benu" només cinc centimets del lloc perquè si sou a Barcelona no us la deixeu escapar si mai necessiteu una cinta. Allà la trobareu segur!

I per mostra...un botó! Vull dir...una cinta!

[ENG] You'll have to excuse me today... no english translation yet...

[CAT] Recordeu quan portar bambes Puma o New Balance era de "mercadillo"? Arribaves al cole arrossegant les sabates perquè tu el que volies era duur unes J'Hayber.

Doncs això és senyores i senyors, el que fa la moda...crear necessitats. I el món handmade i la revolució que està patint, és també producte de la moda.

Recordo quan amb 10 anys em tirava hores amb la meva cosina dins la seva tenda al càmping la Coma fent punt de creu. Erem de lluny les més rares de la zona. Però a ella i a mi ens molava i punt.

Amb el temps vaig arribar a Barcelona i jo seguia fent cosetes però la gent em seguia mirant com un bitxo raro o et posava l'etiqueta de "que hippie!" perquè està clar que els hippies són súper de fer les coses a mà (tot i que el seu ventall per aleshores eres els penjolls bruixa amb pasta de paper, i les samarretes destenyides super de tripi).

Anyway, per allà a l'època que vaig començar el blog, vaig passar pel meu petit moment de glòria. De cop i volta tot allò que havia fet durant anys va passar a estar de moda...i què va passar? Que tothom s'hi va aficionar. Coincidïa amb la greu crisi que arrasava (i arrasa) el món i per tant van començar botigues com a bolets. I cursos. I caps de setmana craft. I xerrades. I yarnbombings.... I clar, jo no podia ser menys...vaig començar el blog. Super encantada de la vida, perquè a sobre per fi havia conegut un grup de noies que els agradava el mateix que a mi, i quan quedàvem als bars la gent ens mirava així una mica com amb enveja...Meravellós per l'ego, claro està.

Però això també va venir lligat a la distorsió i ridiculització de l'idioma i van començar a aflorar paraules com "bonitismo", "bonitista" i què dir dels eslògans edulcorats d'empreses petites que han fet un imperi.

I poc a poc de ser la pera, ara és "de hipster", amb les mateixes connotacions negatives que quan em deien "de hippie". Graciós, no?

Metropolis (Fritz Lang)

I tot s'uniformitza (com molt bé van somniar Fritz Lang o Aldous Huxley), totes volem tote bags absolutament inútils per poc pràctiques, duem llavis i ungles vermells, camises de floretes i no podem viure sense el chai latte del Cosmo. I recalco que JO TAMBÉ faig totes aquestes coses però penso que em comença a aborrir una mica. Estaré reaccionant?

Ara sembla que això, igual que la bombolla immobiliària, s'està desinflant i la conseqüència d'això és que cada dia llegim que algún d'aquests negocis tant xulos abaixa la persiana (Del revés, I love kutchi, Nido de abeja). I tot això genera polèmica...perquè en el fons som humanes i tenim el gen de la crítica molt ben arrelat. Totes. JO també. Però penso que és ben normal. Durant un temps determinat ha anat molt bé però la gent no té els calers per gastar el que a vegades demanen a depèn de quins llocs; potser el ganxet no és tant fàcil com sembla; ho he intentat i em sembla aborrit...és igual, ja sortirà una altra cosa.

I aquí és quan continuo. Un cop perdi definitivament l'estatus de " de hipster" i tornem a passar a l'anonimat podrem fer sorgir la originalitat i la creativitat de nou. Si a mi m'agrada aquesta nova via de comunicació 2.0 és pel fet de seguir aprenent. I per conèixer gent. A mi m'encanta fer coses. Em relaxa i em motiva. Vull seguir, però no cal a aquest ritme tant perfecte i de color de rosa.

My (crafty) New Year's Resolutions

[ENG] Isn't it funny that I want to talk about my new year's resolutions precisely today, the day supposed to be the blue monday (there is a name for every day nowadays) and the day they say it's the saddest of the year?

Well...I don't really care.

I've been reading other friends resolutions and I decided I'd do the same. Let's see if I can achieve any of them.

1. The first one...I want to be as creative as Tres Pompones. Well, not really...in fact...I want to be Tres Pompones!! Her knowledge level goes from crocheting to preparing these furniture wax, and in between she also tells you the best way to keep your cd's in the minimum space possible. And yet, she would hesitate to knit herself a princess Leia bun hat and wear it with all that glamour.

But, let's be realistic, the first resolutions is already hard to reach...so let's try to figure out something else...Let's start again.

1.b. I want to finish my f******* blanket! After two years (two!) I think it's about time to do so... Well, because if you are thinking on crocheting a blanket for your bed (not your child's bed)....FORGET IT!! It is a nightmare!!! And if you see some amazing offers for cheap yarn...Run!!

I once read "Life is to short to by cheap yarn"...do you want to know why someone said it? Because you end up buying 3kg of yarn and after 2 years you still cannot see the end of that once loved blanked.

Oh yes, and if you want to make it even harder...don't use the typical granny squares, no, no, no, just use the african flower crochet pattern.

Did I say two years yet?

2. I want to knit a jumper! And not just any jumper...I want to knit one Kate Davies designed. The one with the owls...

But I guess that if I wanna knit a jumper like this, I'd better start practising...but if I do so...when will I finish the f****** blanket, previously mentioned? Oh lord...give me strength...

3. I've been following Isabelle Kessedjian for a long time now, and I knew about her crocheted dolls book. But that was the end of the story until mid summer when I found it in spanish and I also saw the one Tricotoseando did...with that amazing ginger hair... (by the way, on my third life, I want to be her...remember, the second one is already taken by Tres Pompones).

It is a clear example of "culoquierismo"... I couldn't stop it.

4. I want to have my blog a little more active...it seems to be working (so far...)

My gosh, I already feel tired...and I just put four resolutions...I think I'll just leave it here and try to get these ones by mid year...oh no, I forgot one is the f****** blanket!

I'd better go and continue with the bitchy african flowers.

[CAT] No és una mica curiós que precisament avui us vulgui parlar dels meus propòsits d'any nou? Avui diuen que és el blue monday (si és que ara per ara posen nom a tots els dies) i diuen que és el dia més trist de l'any.

Jo de fet és que he estat llegint els propòsit d'altres i he decidit que faria el mateix, toma ya! A veure si aconsegueixo assolir-ne algún...

1. Allà va el primer... vull ser tant creativa com Tres Pompones. Bé, no exactament...de fet...jo vull ser ella! El seu nivell de coneixements van des del ganxet fins a preparar una fantàstica cera reparadora de mobles, i entremig a sobre et dona consells de com guardar els teus cd's en el mínim espai possible. Ah, i a sobre no dubtarà en teixir-se un barret de princesa Leia i dur-lo amb tot el glamour...

Pero siguem realistes, el primer ja és impossible d'aconseguir...així que intentaré abaixar les aspectatives...tornem a començar.

1.b. Vull acabar la p*** manta! Després de dos anys (dos!!!) crec que ja va essent hora per fer-ho...Bé, si per alguna raó estàs pensant en teixir una manta pel teu llit (que no parlem d'un llit petit, per més inri)...OBLIDA-HO! És un malson!! I si per casualitat veus una magnífica oferta de llana barateta (que a sobre serà acrílica)...Corre!

Un cop vaig llegir una frase que deia "La vida és massa curta per comprar llana barata"...i voleu saber perquè és així? Doncs perquè acabes amb 3 kg (literals) de llana i després de dos anys encara no veus el final del que una vegada (molt llunyana) va ser el teu adorat projecte.

Ah sí, i si a sobre et vols complicar més la vida, no facis un simple granny, vés a per el patró de la flor africana.

He dit ja lo dels 2 anys?!

2. Vull teixir un jersei! I no un jersei qualsevol...què va! Vull fer-ne un de la Kate Davies. Aquell dels mussols tant repreciós.

Però imagino que per fer una cosa així millor seria que comencés a practicar...però si ho faig...quan acabaré la p*** manta, que ja he citat anteriorment? Oh déu, dòna'm força...(que no tinc clar que em quedi paciència ni quan acabi aquestes ratlles...em sulfuro per moments.)

3. Fa temps que segueixo a Isabelle Kessedjian , i també sabia del seu llibre de nines de ganxet. Però fins aquí arribem al final de la història...fins aquest estiu quan vaig trobar el llibre en espanyol i a sobre vaig veure la que va fer la Tricotoseando...amb aquell fantàstic cabell pèl-roig...(per cert, a la meva tercera vida vull ser ella...recordeu que a la segona seré la Tres Pompones).

És un clar exemple de "culoquierismo" però és que no ho he pogut evitar.

4. M'agradaria tenir el blog una mica més actiu. De moment sembla que funciona...

Mare meva, estic esgotada...i això que m'he quedat només en quatre propòsits...em sembla que em planto aquí i potser m'ho proposo per a mitjans d'any,..ai no! que tinc la ditxosa manta!

Millor que vagi a fer les floretes africanes dels nassos.
