Caught up with my old Graphic Design class buddies Kezia and Darina :)

There were great DJ's and my friend was on the Bar (Ben, who I hadn't seen in years <3 )

Well hello there and good bye January...

I can't believe this my first post of the year. It's a bit of a disgrace, since its the last day of the month :P. I woke up really early, I have quite a bit on my mind. January has been quite intense, finally pulling up my socks and facing the music. Hopefully in February things will develop to be much easier and I WILL BLOG MORE HERE! I do blog at other places, read my post on 500 Days of Summer here.

The music video I will be reviewing is Free by Natalia Kills

Natalia Kills, her voice sounds good, she also looks great in all that make-up and whoever dresses her has great taste.

Anyway the video. When it starts, Im thinking, what? no budget? why is it just Will I AM's talking head, talking not rapping, also talking allot of nonsense -

I got some money in my pocket and I wanna go shopping
An go, buy me some things I like
I saw some kicks up in the mall, that I just gotta be rocking
I love to rock them tings I like
I'm no material guy, I just wanna look fly
Cool suits, dope boots
doin' them tings I like
'Cause when I get my gears straight
Them honeys gonna be shocking, shocking, yeah shocking yeah

My reaction? -

Shocking? Yes very shocking. Moving on...
This video goes is a fashion video. Nice clothes, pretty people, no clear narrative but allot of poses. Its like Madonna's material girl but it... sucks? Listen to the lyrics they don't make sense. She has no money, but she's buying things at the same time she's free and these things are making her money. There a point in the video where its says "buy for freedom" does she mean "buy your happiness" There's point in the video when money is on fire and her hair is on fire? Theres a nude woman trying to put heels near there vagina? What is going on?

For the the optimists that like to see messages in things, my friend said it may be satirical, making fun of people attitude to money. If you watch the video pretend shes purposely acting like a deluded idiot that doesn't understand the value of anything it may seem that way HOWEVER this song is going to be playing in the cubs, and is going to be the backing track on fashion show-like tv programmes, many people are not going to take notice of what utter rubbish is going on here.

And to prove this optimist view is not the case here is what she said about the song:
"I'm so excited to promote my new single "Free" now. It's a good representation of my music. I wrote it a few years ago when I was a waitress and all I just wanted to do was go shopping no matter how much or little money I had."

Has she not noticed the economy?

SusuanaLove: Film for Uni project

Was going mad last month and into the first week of this month with my contemporary art project, so glad now its now handed in. I worked in a group witch I named Team Saatchi. The coursework was an 1500 essay, a short film and an installation and a portfolio. Our Idea was based around e-reader vs books.

This the film ... which was only 10% YES 10% of my mark 0.o

2 weeks of prep (making the back drop, the dress, the umbrella, the book, the sound effects and the trees) all for 10% - (just for the term) I could almost Cry

This the installation chilling in my front room, they are computer symbols hanging btw

What it looked like in the exhibit, we bad made a dark room and put a vintage armchair in front so you could watch it like a tv

SusuanaLove Photography: Winter in Turin, Italy

These are some of the digital photos from my interesting time in Turin. Cant wait to get enough money to get all my film photos printed, I think took over 100, and most of it was using expired black and white film so Im sure its going to be really expensive. Thanks to my friend Phil for getting me 2 rolls of coloured film just before I headed off. Literally loosing yourself in a foreign city produces good work lol. Right now Im at my uni trying to get essays done before I head home for Christmas. So far 1000/10000 words done lol. Wish me Luck Lol. And I haven't forget about my give away I will do a post on it very Soon! Enjoy the photos!

SusuanaLove: New Lens :3

Hi all

This has been one of the busiest week of my life, from hospital appointments to student protests to my exhibition 2moro!!! Im at home trying to finish of my portfolio, so many things have gone wrong already. But one thing has gone right :) I now have a new lens for my film Camera!! :D Its a CANON EF 28-80 MM F3.5-5.6 USM. Just in time because I'm heading of to Italy Tomorrow night. I have quite a bit of work to do over the Holiday, but I'm trying not to think about it, I just need to get through the exhibit and on that plane!!!

Hey, Just wanted to do a quick post about the Bloggers London meet yesterday. It was great! thanks to the organisers. I got to mingle with plenty of other cool bloggers and made new contacts and got plenty of goodies. It was nice to share blogging experiences and meet successful businesswomen too. The place itself was lush,.I had travelled from uni to the Fawcett 50's inspired march straight to the meet which was in this lovely venue called the Warwick, just off Regents street. I will do a blog post soon on all the lovely goodies - which right now are making my room smell heavenly.

2. The most expensive piece of item of clothing i bout was my duffle coat which I got last week which was on sale £70, I HAD TO HAVE IT

3. Im going on a my own little photography tour of Europe to build up my portfolio

4. I plan to live in France for a year

Ok So I was thinking, falseys are cool for nights out, but I dont want to paying loads. I don't normally do review make up like things but I thought this would be handy, plus I'm starting to develop my make up art skills for more extravagant fantastical photo shoots. So anyway, if you ebay false eyelashes on ebay, you can actually get big packs for really cheap. So I got a set of ten natural looking ones (you get to pick the style too!) all together with postage £3.08! then i got some black glue (yes black!) I was expecting one but I got 2 for 1.73. All together under £5!

I trimmed them and stuff and I got away with it, especially with black glue which just looked like eyeliner :) Have a nice week

This has been the week for good food :)

It all started with my friend Su from Korea and Paulina from Germany. Invited them over to dinner and decided to invite some neighbours to, we all made a dish for the table and had a lovely feast :) Bumping up my hostess and cooking skills a bit :P I still need to working on cooking time and quantity and so on but it was a good night.

The gave us a present and bought us dinner afterwards :)

Ok so this came out last week but I haven't really been on campus till today :P my first day of my second year of term.

Well here it is, my photo on the first page, in the first issue of of the academic year. EXCITEMENT.

Im actually glad lectures have started Im really looking forward to getting everything set this year :) I have allot on this week, I'll tell you at the end if it all turns all right. Been a bumpy few days but this has made me a happy bunny :)
