Go back to work and make 14 thousand dollars for your company, for what!?

I went back to the old grindstone in February, after my accident in September, to find out that I had been miraculously transformed into a money magnet for my company. For March, I earned a total of about 14.5k for the company when their projected "good month" would have been around 11k. On top of that when I went in for my recertification test, not only did I pass the test I previously passed (type 1), but also the other two as well! Ok I feel like some of you reading might be thinking WTF does this guy do? I am a Fire Extinguisher Technician, simply put I service and maintain fire extinguishers for businesses. So what is the Certification about? That is how the Fire Marshall determines who is capable of doing what in this industry. Passing all three makes me.....UBER EMPLOYABLE! With the combination of the licencing upgrade and the fantastic month, wouldn't you say that merits a raise? Granted, I do make a small commission from the sales and labor that I do, but I made all that without the third licence and without the "comebackfromthedeadandmakeakillermonth" bit as well. Not only did I NOT get any goodies other than a pat on the back and my manager telling me I did better than he did, but I actually have had my integrity called into question three times in the last week. Now I really am not a greedy person, but I figured that someone might be a little happy that I came back from an almost 6 month period and jumped right back into things. BTW I am not the only person who feels like no matter how much good they do, they only hear about the little bad things. This is a common occurance in this office. In fact, I would settle for continuing the compensation package that I recieve now if we could get a little respect. One off day does not constitute a supervisor questioning why you have "slipped off". ONE EFFING DAY does not constitute an attitude from a supervisor that would offend even the roughest of roughnecks. REMEMBER FELLAS, TEAMWORK IS NOT JUST FOR WORKERS BUT MANAGEMENT AS WELL!
Just my thoughts, if I were to run a company my priorities would be Customer, Workers pay, Reinvestment, Boss' pay. Anyone who runs a company where they put their own pay before that of those making the money for them should not be running that company! I think that everyone has kinda started to sip on the Wall Street Kool Aid lately. Everyone wants to earn these HUGE bonuses, but rather than putting in the hard work to make it happen, they rely on bullying and pressuring their staff to increase their productivity and workload. Maybe I am the wrong one, maybe I have it all backwards. So what that means is all you have to do to get ahead in life is make sure to push your way to the top, then grind your boots into the faces of those supporting you. Thanks for the life lesson, and the creation of yet another greed fueled totem climber willing to stab, slash, and stomp their way through the competition just for a little taste of what "The Real Housewives of blah blah blah" call reality.

Become.com: Shopping Made Easy

      Just took a look at http://www.become.com/, what I found was a shopping extravaganza. These guys have great prices on just about anything that you can think of! That includes a wide variety of video games at excellent prices! Even though game prices seem to float at about the same dollar amount no matter where you go, it is nice to find someone to give you a few pennies off :)
       While you are game shopping you can take care of shopping for your girlfriend as well. What better way to make up for the fact that you are going to be lost in a video game for hours on end? Ian Wright stars as Globe Trekker

    One of the best travel shows on TV right now is Globe Trekker, with one of my favorite hosts, Ian Wright. He brings a wonderful energy to the show as he goes from country to country. The best part about the show is that he knows adventure and is always willing to take it on, no matter how crazy it might seem.
Going from Nigeria to Thailand to Brazil, this travel host takes on the local culture and environment head-on. It's great to sit back and watch Ian from the couch with my Satellite TV and just relax as he takes adventure to new heights.
    Each show is hilarious and extremely memorable. Ian puts on stunts, joins in with all the festivities, and just has a great time during his travels. This is one show that does not get boring as more episodes go by, with the same boring setup for each one. Every country he visits is a completely unique experience, and is truly a joy to watch and experience.
    If you are interested in travel or even just seeing the different cultures of the world, Globe Trekker comes highly recommended by me as one of the best travel shows available to watch.

Donald Trump for President?

According to his speech at the CPAC Confrence this week, Donald Trump may be considering running for President of the United States of America in the next election. "The Donald" made some pretty bold, yet thought provoking statements at the CPAC Confrence."By the way, Ron Paul cannot get elected. I'm sorry to tell you." is what Donald Trump said near the end of his 13 min speech. As well as continuing to say "If I run" and telling us what he would be looking to do for our country with his administration. So what do you think people? Do you think "The Donald" has what it takes to go to Washington and tell all the slime "Your Fired!"? I would have to say that with all options considered, and seeing the evident failure of the status quo, I would have to seriously consider putting my vote behind one of the most successful businessmen in the U.S. If you have a few minutes, take a look at this speech. Maybe he can convince you too?

StarFront app mirrors Blizzard's StarCraft game

So I am browsing the web for new and interesting things to blog about related to video games, and I came across Gameloft's StarFront. This app looks like they simply cloned everything StarCraft and put a new name on it. I am really suprised that this hasn't recieved more attention in the news. Does Blizzard really just make so much money that they don't care if another game company uses their ideas? Why hasn't Blizzard put some money into the R&D for app games themselves? I see only another avenue to a:) make more money and b:) reach a broader audience. It would be awesome to see the brain's behind Blizzard start working on mobile games as well. I am sure that they would take that market just as they have taken the computer game market. Take a look at the trailer below:

Blizzard Entertainment Celebrates 20 Years!!

On Feb 8, 2011 Blizzard celebrated their 20th year in the video game industry! In that time they have released fantastically successful titles such as: Warcraft (1-3), Diablo (1-3), World of Warcraft, and StarCraft (1&2). For the full story check out The Orange County Register.

On a side note, it seems that Blizzard Entertainment is a company who is about keeping their employees happy and satisfied. Pictured above is one such Blizzard employee, Sarah Dobeler, who is taking advantage of one of the Blizz employee perks. That's right, they will let you bring your pup to work with you. If Blizzard isn't on the list of top companies to work for, they definitely should be.

Here's to 20 more years of excellence Blizzard! I cannot to see what your creative department will come up with next. By the way, by my calculations your company is pulling in roughly $89,700,000 per month in subscription fees alone, any chance you wanna just lose a few of those zeros in this direction? I think that the U.S. Government should speak to Michael Morhaime and Frank Pierce to get some ideas about how to go about reducing the national debt!

I have been playing this game since release. The one thing that I am always in need of, no matter how much I play, is in game gold. I have plenty of friends who believe that buying their gold from third party sellers is worth the money. I think that is rediculous. Why would you spend real money to get fake money in game? Especially when there is someone on the net willing to show you how to do it!

Seriously, if you are going to spend your money, why not learn how the pro's do it? Spend a fraction of what you would spend on gold over time, as well as have enough gold of your own to sell! That's right, push your gold to your friends for real life money, and make money playing the most addictive game on the planet!

Ahh Socialists, When Will You Learn?

I thought this was a fitting audio clip for those of us that still believe that Socialism and Obamacare are the answer. This clip sums it up pretty well in my opinion. If only there were another Ronald Reagan waiting to step up and bring the U.S. back to it's former "Star Wars" era greatness. Instead we have a jackass who thinks that by changing the words of JFK's famous "It's not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" quote to try to make himself sound more profound than he actually is...Click Here for more on that.
For now it seems that we are safe from the oppression of big government. Luckily the Supreme Court finally saw how the sheer principal of this proposal is fundamentally opposed to our Constitution. To add insult to injury, Obama says he didn't raise taxes, yet there are numerous tax increases that have left his desk with his signature on them... Hmm perhaps he has someone sneaking into his office late at night, forging his signature on tax proposals, yeah...yeah that's it, thats the ticket... Really, if it weren't for the fact that we might open a Pandora's Box filled with nightmare zombies, I would say that reanimation would be a viable option.

Upcoming Titles I Am Looking Forward To

All the gamers I know are very skeptical about new games coming out, and they like to see what other people think about them. I am definitly in that group, but I do like to look at what is coming up every once in a while. Sometimes you get the obvious "hooray" when a top game company is releasing the sequel to their last awesome game as is the case with EA's Dragon Age 2. So I took the time to put together a few of the ones that popped out at me, hopefully it helps you in your game shopping experience.

Dragon Age II

Releases: 3/8/11

This one looks to be an awesome game to lose yourself in for a while. I played through the first Dragon Age, and I was very impressed. Dragon Age puts you in control of your world. Every choice and decision you make shapes the way that the game world acts toward your character. You can be the evil scary bad man, or be the knight in shining armor. The choice is yours. Dragon Age II seems to offer a similar experience. Here is what GameFly.com has listed for the description of Dragon Age II:

"Dragon Age II creates another epic world where you'll have freedom to choose and opportunity to make your mark. A once-penniless refugee known as Hawke has made an improbable rise to power and become the most vital person in the land. Duke Nukem Forever

Releases: 5/3/11

So this is probably the most anticipated sequel in history. Why is that? Well let us start with the fact that the first Duke Nukem 3D game was released in 1996. Since that time, they have been murmuring about a sequel. So I guess 14 years isn't so long to wait right? I haven't been much of a first person shooter fan lately, but I remember Duke 3D being one of the best games I ever played as a teenager. Let's hope that they actually make it to release this time! I have not seen much on this game other than a few screen shots and the release date. I just hope that it lives up to the hype.

L.A. Noire

Releases: 5/17/11

I am hoping for another home run from Rockstar Games. This will be the third game that they use their Grand Theft Auto game play style in. I have played and love the whole Grand Theft Auto series, as well as the Red Dead series. If this game is anything like it's two older brothers, it will definitely be worth playing. Their website describes the game as follows:

"L.A. Noire tells the story of WWII hero and aspiring young detective, Cole Phelps as he solves cases and climbs the ranks of the LAPD. Focusing on Cole's experiences working the various desks of the LAPD and attempting to solve a series of potentially linked gruesome murders."
