Born in Africa and raised in Europe, Rui Gaudêncio starts showing his music passion in the early age of nine by collecting 80’s and 90’s records, influenced by artists like Depeche Mode; Duran Duran; INXS; David Bowie; and many more.

In 2005 the electronic music movement starts in his life, by the hand of Michael Mayer - Kompakt, the first of many performances he had the opportunity to follow; In 2007 Rui was invited to join Minimaland, the best minimal-electronic music blog in Portugal, as a blogger, and after two years he decided the creation of his own project, Techno Minimal Senses, witch achieves 200,000 visitors in the second year and becomes supported by some of the most important labels in Europe, such as AMAM; Bpitch Control; Cadenza; Crosstown Rebels; Fabric London; Minus; Traum; and more…and some special interviews with Alex Celler & Anthea; Max Cooper; Moderat; Freshkitos; Heartthrob; and Alex D’Elia.

He starts playing in 2010 when he was invited to join White Label Agency at Porto, and he played in some of the most important clubs in Portugal, Industria Club; Pitch; and TSB; some bars and beach parties too, and he share the decks with artists like Alex Under; Tadeo; Damian Schwartz and national artists such as Freshkitos; Zorgan; Pedro Gonzaga and a residency at Canto.Vivo - Aveiro.

Rui is now in Switzerland presenting his new project, WANKALA, witch he describes with one single phrase “Just drums, bass-lines, funky grooves and only what’s essential to make people move”. Now in Atum Records, Yann Detroit released a mega bomb for the dance-floors composed by three amazing tracks, Hipnotize Mens Like; Human Circus and Mental Machine.

Hipnotize Mens Like is a highly disciplined minimal techno, squeezed between endless successions of a sequenced theme treated with a slight reverb and delay to enhance the experience. The techno beat in this one, is almost unnoticeable at first, but soon carves its way through an amazing and hypnotic journey, transforming your moment into an austere dance floor club, offering at the same time hypnotic cuts which will guide your mind straight to the future.

Human Circus, which gives the name to the EP, its sure it will kick you out...bouncing and echoing as it progresses, without ever losing the dancey vibe, even despite its raw, minimal nature... this music creates a deep and spiritual nature with a spacious atmosphere augumented with small sounds and moved by arctic Wind, eched synth noise reflecting the sounds reverberating in caverns and between the barren rocks.

Always on the hunt to recruit and push new talent, Subb-an and Adam Shelton have been quick to snap up Yamen & EDA to be part of the One Records crew, "et voila" :)

Yamen is a emergent artist from south of France who started music during his childhood by playing drums He is now delivering a deep house and sexy music influenced by jazz, disco, and funk roots. 2011 was for him a plenty year, in fact he launched the label Unpleased Records with his friends Jan Hendez, EDA, and Superlate and released several tracks on his label.

Eda began to pay attention to digital music in 2005, when the minimal techno wave from Germany a few years earlier was at its peak in France. Full of creative ambition and boiling, the young musician distills personal music compositions main house intermixed with minimal and atypical elements. As a modern shaman, Eda instils into his music sound conjurings where the rhythms wander, kink or break at counter tempo, from a light tone to a deeper and abyssal sound. His musical universe was influenced by Seth Troxler, Audiofly, Loco Dice, Luciano, Robag Wruhme, Maetrik, Butch, Mathias Kaden, Luna City Express, David Squillace, Ray Okpara, Martin Buttrich, Loko, Tini, and so many others...

This shows how France really begins to develop his musical level...gret work guys!

Those two guys were fencing each other up and down the stairway. They took 20 steps, back to back, then they turned around, smoothly from the hip, firing magazines at each other. Then t10 steps and then 5, both were still standing and then they beat each other to a pulp until the blood came out and then until no blood came out and still none of them hit the ground...but it's an incredible work...congratulations guys!

Ryan Davis history's of releasing music with labels worldwide leaves marks of a musical journey rich of emotions, dreams and desires.” We couldn’t have said it any better". Ever since his first release came out (Transformer – 2006), Ryan Davis has been releasing a steady supply of tracks defined by a great deal of atmosphere and self-expression: soothing pads, euphoric synth waves and heartwarming vibes are just some of the melodic aspects that mark his music, while thumping kickdrums and organic percussion assure packed floors.

Pan/Ton original compositions take in the outer realism of pulsing techno, vivid electro and evocative retro fuelled soundscapes. From the dark refrains of ‘Nomad’ to the near euphoric synth melodies of ‘Bag of Bliss’ and onto the arpegiated 80’s rhythms of ‘Trans-Am Radio’ there is a genuine diversity here, yet the whole things is tied beautifully together by Thompson’s rock solid production and vision for the sound as a whole.

With no presentation needed, Ellen Allien returns with two stripped-down driving tracks, here remixed by Redshape, Jesse Perez & Snuff Crew!

The Miami-based DJ/Producer Jesse Perez has reworked The Kiss, bestowing the straight-up beat with a healthy dose of Caribbean flair. Jesse's talents are no secret, especially in his home country. His tech-house sets and contributions for MTV are legendary in the USA.

The Germany-based Snuff Crew takes a noticeably less extrovert approach, but their credits speak for themselves: two albums on Gigolo, plus releases on Killekill and their own label Snuff Trax, founded in 2010. They have appeared as remixers for artists including Alex Vazquez and BPC's owner Dance Disorder. Their trademark crunchy, old-school acid sound leaves a clear impression on their version of The Kiss and creates an intense, atmospheric after-party hit.

The man with the red mask, Redshape, cuts an altogether more mysterious figure. Redshape's musical affinity with the best of Detroit techno is exhibited on his two superb albums on the Frankfurt label Running Back as well as his numerous tracks on Music Man, Delsin and Styrax Leaves. Yet his identity remained the subject of speculation for a long time. These days we can say with at least some certainty that Redshape is officially known as Sebastian Kramer and resides in Berlin. He sets the playful Need original on its way very gradually and carefully before bringing frenzied tribal drums into play and transforming the track into a kind of 'evil twin' of the original.

Alejandra Del Pilar Iglesias Rivera was named Dinky by her sister at birth! Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, as a child she studied ballet and the suzuki method of piano before relocating to New York to become a contemporary dancer...Dinky soon became one of the most popular female DJs in new order techno music. As well as DJing, producing and working in record stores she also ran her party in the heart of Chinatown together with her friend Magda.

In 2005 Dinky got signed by Sven Vaeth imprint Cocoon records, with her massive hit "Acid in my Fridge" burning dancefloors all over the world, the single became a top seller and was rapidly signed to international compilations like Ministry of Sound and Fabric and featured in mix compliations from Timo Mass, Toni Rios and Death in Vegas etc...working now together with Visionquest, the label jointly run by Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson, Seth Troxler and Shaun Reeves. For the 60th release, Dial prepared A Greater Administration Of Lower Interests in collaboration with Carsten Jost and Lawrence, the fathers of Dial Records. Mosso is an intimate project, born out of the natural desire to present one’s work in one’s own home. It is a private space in which the artist picks and displays his own favored pieces, enabling an unconstrained and harmonious blend to unfold.

Alejandro grew up in Mendoza, Argentina, and has been producing electronic music for over 10 years. Following the use of various aliases, Funzion being the most celebrated one, he decided to pursue his experiments under his real name. This was a simple decision, made possible through his creation becoming the honest rendition of his very inspiration.

Alejandro Mosso’s music is the humble exploration of the ample musical heritage our planet has to offer, side by side with an ever-expanding and personal definition of the electronic medium. This isn't something that you can physically reach out and touch, or smell, or hear, or taste, or see. The meaning of an abstract thing will change depending on who is thinking about it...being able to recognise the difference between abstract and concrete things will improve your ability to analyse what other people write, say or show, and also improve your control over your own mind!

This project will consist in a series of set's that will be released regularly to all of you, no date or regularly scheduled planed but these set''s will be the beginning of a future catalog of Techno Senses.

BOMB TIME...

Frank has been successfully DJing in for years and has been a force as the resident DJ in the Butan club, Wuppertal, maybe the most prominent club in Germanys coalmining district for techno. Frank Sonic has just recently released a 12" with Tube & Berger on MBF, here they are releasing a much more techno focussed release. For his Trapez release he has teamed up with his mate Mike Maass.

With their production Trapez is starting a new series of harder techno releases following Roland M. Dill’s Trapez 122. Frank and Mike have created with their original of Blizzard a kind of sci-fi monster that skilfully creates a perfect pace and feeling.... sneaking in FX sounds creating a breathing sound within the track.

The Secret Cinema remix of Blizzard is a rollercoaster of a track, we don’t want to say to much here, but imagine a solid hour of genuine techno compressed in a trax playing time and you can guess how strong this remix is. A. Mochie, who had his breakthrough internationally with Len Faki’s Death by House mix, has here given Blizzard his treatment...creating a cool static feeling that is intensified with each step, he builds up a feeling of urgency, Trapez family like to call it, the ambulance feeling! House Soldier in it’s original version is a bit of a tongue in cheek affair using the sample house in a harder techno context. The track has a mesmerizing flow, while building up a musical inertia that is impossible to stop. House Soldier is last but not least a bassline driven force into modern techno. Alexandro Trebor, is an upcoming French artist and has remixed House Soldier in a really tight way...there is virtually no element that does not rock hard in this track, this is power techno at its best. Van Bonn, already a bit of an institution for his techno dub remixes has chosen to give House Soldier a Berlin feeling. Van Bonn’s remix stands for a hybrid of old school techno and new school attitude, combing slashing Speedy J sounding snares with elevating experimental soundscapes.

RECONDITE - PLAN 2

NEED MORE, NEED MORE!

2010 is the release date of a new label, Plangent Records, with only one EP on the market till last 15th, called Plangent 01, now they had released the second EP, entitled Recondite and it is recommended by some top dealers and artists on the electronic music scene.

Recondite continues with further explorations of the sonic scenerie. The three tracker EP gets out with a lovely post basic channel, dub techno interpretation of a techno track for the warmer days. The B side does a great job fusing soft beats and low key melodies with raw structure,drive and pressure.

Plangent Records slowly becomes the face for the otherside of Berlin techno together with a label such as Giegling. Gritty deep techno, with some influences from Dubstep here and there... slowly moving away from the much abused Detroit reference. Definitely worth the listen!

Seeing Through Shadows was his first apparition on M-nus, in 2006, since that he have released only on labels like Cadenza; Cocoon; Ovum; and his own Desolat imprint. Now Loco come again bringing Knibbie Never Comes Alone / Loose Hooks which represents an effort by the artist to further explore the sparse and cerebral territory.

Having found time to get back in the studio with long-time studio collaborator Martin Buttrich, Loco Dice explores an abstract and cerebral techno template. Composed by two incredible tracks, this release will be pleasantly received by the minimalist community.

Their A-side, entitled Welcome To My House was produced and written by a whole team including M.in; Jonas Fahz; Peter Eilmers and featuring Nick Maurer on vocals. Bringing together old and new school, this track transport us into another world...the alienated and twisted voice of Nick Maurer adds a psychedelic feeling that keeps your mind distant!

Delgardo and Elephant Blues composes the B-side.

Delgardo "has been a long time favourite of M.in and Jonas and it is an approved dance floor track, and indeed a slow moving... but funky rocker. Hello mates!

First of all, step by presenting me, my name is Pedro, also known as ZORGAN, I am a DJ / Producer and I can say I am a true lover of good music, and today it's a great day for me by have the privilege of starting to write for this excellent blog. From hundreds of names requested, suggested, and even required, the organization gave his best and chose one international alignment that is undoubtedly a constellation of stars.

TECHNOSENSES - GUSTAVO

The first ANTIPOP in 2007 marked a revolution in the music scene in Portugal. Two years later there was a transformation, NEOPOP was created. Do you consider that NEOPOP was responsible for a new revolution? Why? Well I think Neopop and Antipop were both a revolution for the Portugal electronic scene. Antipop never died and the spirit is almost the same, we keep doing it for the love we have for music and for the pleasure of having here our favourite artists playing for a big family. The change for Neopop was needed as it was missing some other details like visual concept for the festival, communication,animation, some technical details and other small details that we wanted to feature at the festival.

No doubt there has been a huge evolution year after year. This year will not be different... Can you tell us a little of your selection criteria for the line-up? We´ve been always looking for a balance in all ways, kind of music, history and hype. So we have to manage to have a bit of every kind of electronic music, a bit of history booking artists that are part of the electronic music history and hype as we also have to pay attention for who is getting a big hype because we also need to survive. This is a non-sponsored festival and we always need to ensure that we are having the "most" desired artists in what we do.

Your project is already undoubtedly establish in the annual tour of the true lovers of electronic music. It is well known to us all that there are festivals that take years to grow...What do you feel knowing that NEOPOP it is a few levels above from many international festivals? And what message you leave for all fans of the festival? We feel happy to know that of course and to be recognized like that as our main goal is to produce a quality festival , with quality artists, quality service, quality venue and crowd. In the end if we are having a good feedback from everyone we feel of course like our mission is accomplished. Our message to our fans is to keep coming in peace for the search of good music and some new things, we will keep receiving you as always, like a family.

All projects have a meaning and a philosophy...What is the true meaning and philosophy of NEOPOP? As I said before and in short words, LOVE FOR THE MUSIC with no interference.

It's notorious the growth of the movement towards Viana do Castelo at this time of year, I dare say that most of this movement is due to the festival, which has grown remarkably year after year, congratulations to all of you ...Can you tell us a little of your secrets? Viana do Castelo is a beautiful place and it was an excellent choice, but why take risks at Viana do Castelo and not in Porto or Lisbon, cities considered "capitals"? Because there you can have our philosophy lost because unfortunately there is a lot of people on this cities that don´t come for the love for music and if you do a festival that people need to get there and know how to get there, to plan it and make for it, in the end you will have mainly the ones who come for the artists, the festival and the music. We want to keep it special but we never know...only the future will tell if we will keep doing it only at Viana.

It is normal in festivals of this magnitude there is always a DESIRED that in most cases never comes...Confesses to us, you also had one DESIRED? Who? Yeah of course we have our idols and our goals to achieve but we´ve been happy with the artists we´ve booked and we still have other editions to bring the desired one´s. Laurent Garnier is unquestionably one of them, Aphex Twin also, Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath and one or another are artists that will have to come to play in our festival sooner or later as they are not only references for us as for all our fans. SEE YOU THERE!
