Last weekend we went to Tagaytay with my friends.Actually, its my birthday treat so I invited some friends, of course I have so many friends but since some of them are out of the country and away from Manila and some are simply too busy like my cousins!(leni and Amy),
I finally recruited 8 people including the foreigner bf of my dear friend Myra which is a true blooded carnivorous and fastfood freak!Im sure its a curse for him and if not for Myra, Im sure he wouldn't waste his time, sorry ROBERTO you don't have a choice but to tag along with us LOL...Luckily after a seemingly endless rain for almost a week, we finally had a sunny weather just for my birthday. A pure bliss for me.. Everyone was excited, although its my 3rd time in Sonyas Garden, but it's always a new feeling for me. Tagaytay was always breath taking and majestic.. I admit I love the whole place! Tagaytay was so amazing that it was always a jaw dropping, always a big AHA for me..its really my dream to have a house in Tagaytay, Im just so in love with the place, no wonder for 3 consecutive christmas and new year we're in Tagaytay just driving around, eating out in every resto, overlooking the scenic view of Taal volcano, waited till dawn then go back to Manila we're we feel fresh and recharged. Lunch in Sonyas serves a very light meal, especially if your a vegetarian or trying to be a health conscious freak. The menu composed of dalandan juice, fresh salad (lettuce, arugula leaves,slice ripe mangoes,cubed melons,sliced cucumbers,pineapple,popped beans,anchovies,black olives,kesong puti in ilive oil,mushroom pate,and pesto and of course with edible flowers) freshly baked homemade breads, pasta with sauces like sundried tomatoes, ratatouille, chicken in cream, mushroom, capers and they have added fried salmon. I think its new in the menu because I don't remember eating it 5 years ago. They also have a very light dessert which are sweet potatoes, turon, and chocolate cake. Best of all we ended our meal sipping their signature tarragon tea!

Our next stop after a healthy lunch at Sonyas Garden, we proceed to Caleruega the place was so peaceful and divine, you can just lounge around, meditate and cleanse your spiritual being or you can just simply sit and read books beside their Koi Pond( that's my next plan) and there's a garden leading to a hanging bridge, its really a secret getaway ...Its like a never ending adventure, one place would lead you to another different amazing scenery.
What better way to describe our trips are through pictures right? here we go... .

Pink Sister Convent although some says that if you bring your romantic partner to this place you will soon breakup?Is that true May? How about you Ida and Nono any comment? or just a coincidence?hehehe Caleruega a very peaceful ambiance 30 min drive from Tagaytay proper.
Mahogany Market a wide choices of local fresh vegetables and the beefs in a very cheap prices compared to manila usually we bought 3kls of beef for steak and tapa!
Coffee-Bag of Beans or Starbucks or in Taal Vista they all access view to the majestic view of Taal volcano.
Resto: Like JOsephines,Leslies, RSM, Cliffhouse, Carlos Pizza, Antonios. or if you wanted a dessert try Amiras and Rowenas for your pasalubong

It's my birthday today..First thing I've done--checked my iPhone, hoping to read all the text greetings, well it was just from my mom telling me she offered a mass for me, how sweet....actually I woke up this morning uninspired, sad and somewhat unessential- I really can't explain it. I just felt emotionally tired and weak....not even a kiss and hugs coming from my husband while holding our cute doggy can put a smile on my face. He ask me what my plans for the day, I just said nothing....-I'll probably hear mass at Quiapo church this afternoon and proceed to New Manila to attend meditation classes...unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the meditation class because I'm late and I didn't want to interrupt the whole class so instead I just go home frustrated...that's it in short my so called birthday is a mess or a jinx? or maybe its what we called Law of Attraction I invited bad thoughts so it came out bad also hahhaha! ugggghhhhhh unforgettable bday! disaster!

Hey by the way 15th is my birthday it's monday and and we wanted to celebrate it on weekend so yesterday (14th) we went to Tagaytay with some friends. Its an early celebration of my birthday just wait for my post next week coz downloading pictures with my internet card connection takes hours grrrrr!.... Its our Tagaytay runaway at Sonya's Garden and Caleruega and in fairness it went well naman...

I've been so lazy this week that I couldn't even pick my pen and make a new entry.I was just feeling down and cannot figure out why...must be the birthday blues I think...ugghhh. The day is passing by, there's no patient to attend to, no household chores to do and definitely no plans to go out because of heavy rain. It has been raining straight for about a week already, almost every road is flooded and you can imagine how terrible the traffic is . So I just decided to grab a book ( yoga secrets for business success) and let's see if I can make a blog out of it...we'll see.......I hope!

iPhone mania has already arrive here in manila !!! Last month Globe Telecom launched the Apple 3G iPhone and actually drawn a long lines of techi phone fanatic just to have that phone. To those who got iPhone welcome to the club:) mine is the first generation iPhone not a 3G phone but so far Im very satisfied and love it soo much that I couldn't ask for more, although If I've got an extra budget I would love to trade my old iphone to 3g iphone wish ko lang!!!! Anyway , how did I get my iphone? Last year my husband wanted to trade his old cellphone-N91 to higher version and it happened that his client is into trading business from latest GSM phone to Laptops and she offered the iPhone which my husband eventually agreed to buy the phone without even thinking if it suit to his personality! (he's always on the go and texting while driving might be the main problem on iPhones, you cannot text immediately barely using one hand nope u cant! and besides his finger is too big LOL! should I blame it to his fingers?) to make the story short he got so pissed off that he handed it to me!!!who am I to resist? Beggars cant be choosers:) yes that's really true!!

What has iPhone got that the other cellphones havent? for me it holds the best features that a mobile can have, it has a huge touchscreen display, you can zoom in and out the picture in your photo gallery with a touch of your fingers. The iPhones is an ipod too! it plays music and videos (with stunning big lcd) and can download songs from itunes. Other great features include the safari web browser (built-in WiFi support),Google Maps, YouTube (its cool as you can watch videos on the go), iFlicker, actually you can download application designed specifically for the Iphone.. You can also syncs all of those things that your laptop content they would appear just exactly like your computer...a modern wonder huh? Its 3 in 1..a cellphone-computer-ipod!

There is also downside though..nothing is perfect as they said..you cant' forward messages (what I've done is add some application called SMSD-thanks to greenhills!) And its basically for US customer only bacause it is locked to AT&T so you have to unlocked it thanks again to greenhills LOL!!! I have no choice it cost me 3k just to unlocked (nakakapanghinayang) but now a big applause to Globe its no longer a problem. And also it does not allow to send music files and other files to another device as we do on other phones using bluetooth ..Yes in this aspect iPhone isn't perfect..Anyway having an iPhone is simply an amazing experience and I agreed that once you owned an iPhone its hard to imagine ever going back to a normal phone please don't get me wrong :)

Do you have pets? Don't you know that our beloved pets can have a big C also. Yes I'm talking about cancer. Last week my partner Dr Myra, and I had a client, a Black, Male Cockier Spaniel 8 years old. A year ago, Quaid (name of dog) had already undergone a surgery-excision of small wart in his upper lip..and now he's back because it recur although that time we didn't subject it to biopsy we just incised and eventually the dog recover easily and back to his old routine..Since the incidence of recurrence of tumor cell in dog is very high we're not surprised that it recur, and the owner wants us to have their dog undergo surgery for a second time but this time we insist a complete laboratory exam with a biopsy of the tissue sample.. A biopsy however is the only sure and accurate way to determine exactly what type of tumor is present and if it is benign or malignant in origin..

Here's the result of the Biopsy: (LoL boring:) )
Diagnosis: Malignant Melananoma,Excision Biopsy of Lesion taken
from the Upper lip
Gross Description: The specimen consist of Tan Brown Tissues
aggregately measuring 3.0 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm
Microscopic Description: Microsections shows a malignant neoplasm
composed of solid sheets of tumor cells with well
defined cell membranes and vesicular nuclea grooves
and folds are atypical. The pattern of growth is
trabecular and pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia is
seen in the overlying epidermis.

Owners commonly asked "What caused it?" Unfortunately, we just don't know nor can we ever be exactly answer the etiology of such mass that grows spontaneously. It has been determined that radiation, poison and toxins, viruses, hormones in male and female, chronic irritation, internal and external parasites can cause neoplasia. Most importantly it seems that genetic factors are probably the single most important reason, any individual will get a certain tumor. In other words our dogs will all have certain inherited genes which either help to protect the development of neoplasia or to some degree increase the chance that certain tumors will form. Tumors are common in dogs older than 5 years old. As what I mentioned a while ago it may be common in certain breeds (genetic) and in dogs with certain colors. Boxer and Cocker Spaniel seem to have a slightly higher rate of tumors, the beagle and mixed breed dogs also has higher rate. Skin tumors are the most common type of neoplasia in dogs. By the way NEOPLASIA or NEOPLASM are the proper term used to describe any new and abnormal growth in the body. The word BENIGN means the chance for recovery while the most dreaded word is MALIGNANT it is a kind of tumor is one likely to become worst enemy of all, it may ultimately leads to death.

Today is Sept 3, 2008..I'm sitting in front of my laptop doing nothing just surfing the net..not much client today and it is soo hot outside sighh..Is this the effect of global warming???I'm a sun person:)I'm the type of girl that doesn't carry an umbrella on my bag except if its raining but now I cant stand the heat..and I don't use sunblock either.. then...
Someone knocks at the door and its a postman..I thought it was for my partner Dr May and I'm surprised it was meant for me...yes a very early birthday card..geee I cant believe 12 days from now ill be turning 31y.o...

 I love to read.  May it be books, magazines, brochures,pamplets, or anything and everything that catches my attention or  interests me ,definitely I would read it. Last month I went to Powerbooks to buy a new book ,and for no reason, it really struck my attention, the title of the book is "Loving The One You're With"..and the headings says If you cant forget the one who got you away,can you?...hmmm It remind me of someone so dear to me.... 

Here's a list of paragraph that i really like....

Hey did I bored you? It's a long story but I'm sure like me you also enjoyed reading my post..Its striking, sensationally intriguing and everyone can relate to it...sadly I'm not one of it because the only boyfriend I had, turned out to be my otherhalf. Yeah, Im fortunate enough not to experienced the confusion that the character had. What it is to have a relationship then break-up without a closure? Im sure it's a huge baggage, that somehow will haunt you if it will remain unaswered. And for me, It is ok if u contact or talked to your past relationship theres nothing wrong about it, as long as you know your limitation and there are no feelings involved..I dont have an ex but I dont mind being friends again with my ex or either be friends to my ex-bf wife sounds weird but its true...LOL! as if my husband ex-gf would let me...why not?Im not the jealous type. And one thing more, there are certain people in our lives that had left a deep emblem in our heart, and in our mind that we often wonder how could've, would've and should've been....Wondering...u keep on wondering? for how long? It must been a horrible feeling but I think if you would have the guts to face and meet that person again, Who knows? you might find the answer that youre looking for?*sigghh*

Waiting...waiting and still waiting...

When I married my husband I looked forward on having children, I cannot wait to be a mother and have a big family, but due to my studies a second courser nursing student, I delayed my pregnancy.  So right after  I finished my local review and board exam, which luckily I passed in spite of my age (29 y.o.)  we decided to have a fertility check up.

While I underwent fertility treatments, my other friends got pregnant time after time without trying...some who have no trouble conceiving often flaunt their fertility as if it were a measure of their worth...(or I am just being paranoid) . Sometimes I feel ashamed that I cannot do what seems so natural and easy for everyone else. I didn't ask for this delay, for the heartache and the frustration....of course not..

My OB Gyne told us to hold on, pray and have more patience. Besides my husband was still on his medication to increase his sperm count, because it was too low and lots of non motile sperm. There are also other options,  if we wanted to get pregnant faster, my doctor suggested us  to try Artificial Insemination or   the In Vitro Fertilization which is way  expensive, that would cost 350k! and while AI will just  cost us 10k (it will drain your savings I'm telling you:). Anyway we tried the AI or the intrauterine insemination(IUI), even with a doubt in our minds just to satisfy our longings. The procedure was painful for a first timer like me, in which "washed" sperm are inserted via catheter directly into my uterus. It is originally considered the best for conception provided that you have a good quality and enough number of sperm. Then, after the IUI, you have to be  at least  2 -3 days  bed rest, but how could I do that  if we had no housemaids.?!.  As a natural stubborn, I still do the cooking and some household stuff..sighhh... The following morning,  something came up we had an emergency case in  Makati branch , its a ceasarian section (I'm the vet surgeon in Makati) so I have no choice than to stand for almost an hour,  I know its forbidden especially if you just had an AI.... deep inside, I'm crying and wanted to shout!  this should not be happening, I should be resting on my bed but I had no choice its my job!!!! so after 3 weeks of waiting .... my menstruation came...bloody s@%$%!!!!! lesson learned?! prioritized...give time...never mixed fertility workup and work...

Now there are days that it takes more energy for me to get out of bed... the agonizing , repetitive nature of infertility. How about the weekly doctors visit and blood test, medications, the repeated prayers and the same strained hopes.....waiting for the end of a cycle and waiting for the beginning of a cycle....Its very tiring, sometimes I just  wanted to give up and just think if its really our destiny so be it and well accept, or try the  simple and inexpensive option which is, just forget the fact that we are infertile....just enjoy life anyway were just on our 30's but anyhow,  I am waiting and I'll be waiting still .....

weekend getaway

I love to travel especially along with my family or friends.This time we planned to visit Grande Island in Subic.This is not my first time here in Subic. Actually my first time was 8 years ago together with my cousins(cousin Arnie,Laila,Amy,Leni and Ivy) we stayed at Legenda Suites though we don't have enough money at that time we managed to pay for our overnight stay and maximize our stay in Subic even in a tight budget, yes that was 8 years ago when we were young..^,^

OUR GROUP...

We decided to bring our car for our convenience,we left exactly 11:am from Manila and we opted the newly opened SCTEX (subic clark tarlac expressway) with a speed of 120-180kph we reach Subic almost 1.5 hrs ! We were lucky because we didn't get caught by the highway patrol since they have installed a radar to monitor the speed of all motorist passing tru SCTEX.

Once inside the SBMA, we drove to Grande Island resort terminal and park our car in their parking area. Since all of us were already hungry, we had our quick lunch at Gerry's Grill just beside the ferry terminal. As much as we wanted to bring "baon" we cannot do that because it is not allowed to bring any food or drinks inside the Island. The travel time going to Grande Island might take 30 minutes via ferry ride, they have a private ferry just for the guest.

Personally the whole resort was beautiful and magnificent. The staffs are friendly, rooms are large enough for four person(we got the beachfront chalet), beds are spacious and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. We even have a free 1 hour massage, exactly what our aching body needs after a long drive and a week of working in Manila. But best of all or I should say the bonus is that, the resort had a free Wifi connection we didn't regret carrying our laptops(me and Amy)

The resort has an awesome restaurant, the Orchid Garden Restaurant, they offer an oriental cuisine. As expected before eating our dinner we have to take several pictures, we are not camera shy:).

If you're the beach goer type remember to bring a comfortable sleeper or aqua shoes. The beach water is calm, no big waves and clean. They also have a banana boat ride, kayaks , or go fishing along seawall and other beach activity which I already forgot the name of it.

Actually the resort has many activities to offer if you don't like the beach you can use their huge swimming pool or the outdoor sport or just explore the island, just follow the path I'm sure you'll never get lost. One more thing that you should never forget before leaving the Island is to try the ATV, it is highly recommended by me LOL... really my "AHA" moment!!! If you're like me who seek adventure and wanting to take a break from busy and stressful life Grande is a way to go...

FLOWERS FOR YOU

Lets say you have this green thumb and you're aching to create a garden in your home, the problem is you don't have enough space for the garden you want?!.. that question is no longer a problem to me because Ive already got the right spot..
It doesn't matter if its in our roof and besides our window, for me this shouldn't deprived me of having a garden on my own version.

It all started with this very simple euphorbia, when my Mom-in-law handed me a 3 variety of euphorbia 3 years ago, since I love flowers without second thought I accepted it and besides I always believe that in every household it is a must to have a living organism like animals or plants aside from human resident.

I remember way back my college years,I used to go to Manila Seedlings located along Quezon Blvd just to buy a cactus and if I'm not mistaken I have 12 different variety of cactus's, unfortunately I didn't have a picture of them and they are gone already and I don't know what happened!LOL. If you're a garden enthusiast and happen to live here in Philippines try Manila Seedlings its a shopping haven and definitely will brighten up your day!

Anyway,here's some pretty picture of my flowers.

This are Petunias my favorite, they are easy and fun to grow, they prefer full sunlight but will bloom in partial shade and take note, no over watering, just allow it to dry (not bone dry!). I had a confession my first set of petunias died because of over watering, I felt bad but I've learned my lesson..

My ever loyal euphorbias! And it surprises me until now it's still growing and flowering a lot.

In the course of learning, a few plants may die which is a common occurrence, but do not be discourage:) it is a through experience that one may became an expert gardener.

OLAH!
My blogs are random thoughts that pop into my head, it may be events in my life, my relationships, its about my family, friends, pets, books, foods, hobbies, news, adventures or it may be travelling's I've done and some other things I feel like writing about. I am hoping that through my own journey, others might be carried along with me. I love being able to to look back and find out what is going on in previous years because sometimes its all those tiny seemingly inconsequential details that really mean the most. Even just a photo can mean a thousand words or simply be nice to look at so expect to see a lot of photos in these blogs.
I have once said that blogging is not for the faint of heart. It requires the blogger to peel herself before an invisible audience and let raw emotions come home to boost. Some blogs are more fun oriented ,filled with dear diary moments that generations ahead of us would never even think of sharing or writing down for stranger's to read. Maybe some people who knows me better will be amused that all of a sudden I became a member of social networking -called bloggers!!!!
Along with my journey as blogger, I am hoping that my old fashioned values with the modern communications tools, may gain a window on an ever changing world. Not that it changed me into different person but rather make me more better and smarter woman. I just hope that I will find a time to post entries and have a topic that is provocative or interesting enough to grab some attentions.
