1. Our house constantly has cartoon voices in the background. (I'm gonna miss that one day...)

2. A pharmacy was held up and robbed of all of the Oxycontin on Saturday. That pharmacy was only about 10 miles from us. Statistics say that's a rising trend. Scary thought...

3. Potty training, I am scared to start it. I remember Drew's...UGH!

4. Having a hard time watching my husband and my brother-in-law seeing their Mom lying there so sick. They feel so helpless...

5. I used to NOT be frightened of a thunder storm. These days, they're bringing tornados and such. YIKES!

1. Have I told you how MUCH I love my role at Vertical Church? What could be better huh?

2. Been missing my Bboro VGroup for so long due to working late. I AM STOKED FOR TONIGHT! I miss my people!!!!

3. I just wonder why some people just don't get this. I have seen some VERY UGLY examples of people not following this commandment from Christ here lately. C'mon people!!! Isn't there enough of negative JUNK in the world as it is?

1. I am TOTALLY stoked that I get to participate in a craft show with my best friend in Raleigh on the 16th with my rings! Cannot WAIT!

2. Photography class coming up the weekend before with her in Cary. STOKED AGAIN!

4. I cannot say just how much it means to have the friends and family I have. My blessing in that is poured out and overFLOWING! I don't deserve you all.

1. Know what the BEST part of my morning is? Drew loves to take Lydia out of her crib every morning. I love to see her running to me dragging her blanket to get a few extra snuggle minutes. The BEST!

2. I have a new hobby! Check it OUT: WRAPPED UP!

3. Tom's on vacation this week. I love that he is excited to be able to spend more time with his kids and me. He doesn't have to go anywhere.

4. We are going somewhere though. We are heading up to Washington DC for the weekend. (Maybe he can see Obama!) :::snicker::::

1. This is way easier to type on a computer rather than my Droid. But I missed last week!

3. On the other hand, Drew gave me a Crunch bite size candy this morning and cheerfully said, " Happy Valentine's Day Mom!" I then told him to keep his candy. He laid it in my hand and squinched his face while saying, "EWWW, I don't like those!" Awe...the love... hahah!

1. Is it so hard to put yourself in someone else's shoes? Someone ALWAYS has it worse than you. Let's pray to be a compassionate and caring people. I am working on this myself...it isn't easy sometimes...

2. Thank someone today for a job well done.

3. Call someone who is sick and cannot get out. You never know how much they'd love to hear your voice.

4. I spoke with a hurt soul last night. (As you can tell by this post) again I say encourage, encourage, encourage church!

5. Make an effort to reach out. People churched and unchurched need love just the same. We will never know how we can spark a fire in a lonely hurt soul by showing we care about THEM!

Man vs. Jesus

I have to admit. I have been a bit discouraged here lately. Even though I felt the need TO encourage, I, at the same time felt the need to BE encouraged. If I never receive anymore encouragement, that should be alright in my soul. The King of Kings alone has done so much that I could never list it all to show to you. I just stand alone with arms open wide and say, "See, He has changed my life."

But that discouragement probably stems from me doubting my abilities that God has given me. I never feel like I am good enough. I have always felt that way even as child. No one made me feel that way. I had a great childhood. It is SELF DOUBT! In fact, that was my cardboard testimony back in the day at Hyde Park. Even as I type that satan tries to instill doubt in my mind like, "What makes you think you are so great." Well, I am not. HE IS!

As Vertical's kickoff is getting closer and closer, I see that opportunity for me to serve is coming closer as well. I always, always see myself as a failure in so many things. I don't know why I do that, but I do. Fear sometimes strikes my heart as this draws near. I know I have not been given a spirit of fear, but what I feel is real.

But as I read in 1 Corinthians this morning, it revealed WHY I feel this way to me. I am doing it for the wrong reason. I am doing it to please man, not God. I am afraid I will disappoint MAN! Whoaaaa.... I see so many awesome people around me working like busy bees and I feel so incompetant. Their hearts are pointed to God. I see that so clearly. How awesome they are! What a testimony their lives reveal.

But, my eyes are set on the wrong vision. I know this. I KNOW THIS. Why do I drift away once again to things here? My eyes should be looking upward. My focus should be on Jesus. If I do it in Jesus name to honor Him, it cannot fail. Whether it be cleaning toilets, sweeping, pouring a cup of coffee, comforting a hurt child...whatever! He is honored...not man. From the simplest of things that anyone can do, GOD CAN AND WILL honor it and use it for His glory. I can do this! And if you struggle with this, you can too! l

I was hit yesterday from Steven Furtick about my prayer life. He said...."Pray like a Juggernaut". Of course for those of you who read Marvel Comics, you know who Juggernaut is. (I didn't, my husband had to break it on down for me.) He was considered an unstoppable force in those comics. What an awesome analogy!

My prayers have been probably a bit watered down at times. But, that struck me in a way to reform that weakness to try to change it to be a stiff, strong drink to be poured OUT to Jesus. I don't want to be watered down. I want to pray with confidence. I want to be unstoppable and on fire for what I speak and ask of my Father. He is the King of Kings ya know?

I believe He wants that from us. I believe it is showing our belief in Him is all encompassing and not half-heartedly. God is here to hear our hearts, to answer our prayers one way or another. If we pray like a juggernaut, it shows Satan we cannot be stopped because we speak the power of Jesus Christ Himself from our very mouths and hearts.

Would you want THIS coming your way prayer-style? I wouldn't and I believe Satan doesn't either. Pray church! Pray fervently and without ceasing!!!!

4. God is really keeping me on my knees here lately. He has done great things and continues to do so!

5. Struggling with an issue? Find an accountability pal, it WILL keep you in check. Plus KNOWING they ARE praying for you helps too. Not just saying it...but action in action!!!

4. I believe we filled prescriptions for every living soul in Gray's Creek yesterday. Probably for a couple of animals as well! DANG!

I am not going to deny it. I tend to try to write about situations where I feel like God is moving in my life in such a deep way. In those posts, I feel like sharing some elaborate story on how certain life events turn into the 'voice' of God and how He is showing me things. Ok, this post?.... Not like that. Simply, brief and really--I am happy about these things right now. It may not matter to you, but that's ok, at least I am tickled pink over them!

I am happy my laptop opened ALMOST all the way tonight. I am not typing in secret tonight. (Hence, this blog post!)

I am happy about Lydia little teeth are shining all the way from the back. SHE CAN OFFICIALLY CHEW with real teeth back there!

I am happy about this glorious RAIN! Deficit is gone!

I am happy about this cool weather. Isn't it great now? Great hair day's are a comin' folks!

I am happy that my friend Melissa received proper medical care and is on the mend! THANK YOU LORD!

I am happy that Jesus Christ loves me for who I am; with all these imperfections, yet He still loves me passionately! What a Father!

1. I am not going to chance it. I am making my own coffee this morning. Cannot drink the scalded TAR that Hardee's sells. I ain't made of that brood that can drink such stuff.

2. RAIN RAIN....that You Jesus for raining down! We appreciate You watering Your Earth.

3. Still praying for my friend Melissa. She went to Duke Sunday evening and I can hear the positivity in the air of her voice. I feel she is getting proper care now. Her case has been a tough one.

4. Maybe getting ready to take an AMAZING road trip with two of my dearest friends in the WORLD in December! ('cept, it's technically going to be in the air. Would that STILL be considered a road trip?) Something I have always wanted to see.....

5. Today's challenge: Do something kind for someone today. Something for someone that you would NEVER expect to do anything for. And how about this: do it anonymously. But somehow give them the message of Jesus' love in it.
