Anyhow, I believe it's right about time I do another one this week. For our featured artist of the week I went back to my early college days when I had my binder notebooks covered with bible verses and pictures of contemporary bands. During those times, when instead of an iPod, I had my trusty walkman play DC Talk and Jars of Clay.

Christian Contemporary music has come a long way since the 90s and one particular band stood out from my playlist. Kutless is a Christian rock band from Portland, Oregon formed in 1999. Since then the band has made a strong name for itself currently selling 2 millions records. The one thing I love about this band and why I think they stand out from the rest is how their songs "reflect the ways these men are growing in spirit, in creativity, and into one of today’s most exciting, thoughtful rock-meets-worship collectives".

"Strong Tower" was the first song I heard from the group and it talks about how we can find strength in our Lord. The album of the same title peaked at No. 87 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Their song "Sea of Faces" from their second full-length album of the same name talks about how every man is special in the eyes of God that no matter how vast the world may be and how many millions of people there are, God sees each and everyone of us.

Recently, the band released their 7th album Believer on February 28, 2012. It topped the iTunes Christian albums sales chart. It debuted at No. 36 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart for the week of March 17, 2012.

The fourth single from the Believer album, "Even If", talks about waiting on God and trusting Him even if the we don't get all the answers we want.

Kutless is Jon Micah Sumrall on lead vocals, occasional rhythm guitar, and piano, James Mead on guitar and backing vocals, Dave Luetkenhoelter on bass guitar, Nick DePartee on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Kyle Peek on drums.

The name Kutless came from Romans 6:23 "Christ took our beating and paid the wages of our sin". He took our cuts for us leaving us..."Kutless".

Kutless - Strong Tower

Kutless - Sea of Faces

Kutless - Even If

If you want to know more about the group, please check their website at www.kutless.com

Sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk
www.clickbank.com

Organize Your Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

How To Organize And Preserve Your Entire Photo Collection In As Little As 10 Days -- Even If You Have Years And Years Worth Of Photographs And Absolutely No Idea Where To Begin.

giromehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05889162787199699449noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3454117480053813817.post-28770546590463074212012-11-02T17:51:00.000-07:002012-11-03T21:28:18.775-07:002012-11-03T21:28:18.775-07:00I'm probably too old to believe in Santa, but just in case somebody really is taking notes I made myself a grown up Christmas list.

Nikon D600 (a D7000 will do budget-wise)

Nikkor AF-S 24-70 f2.8

Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f2.8 (or a Sigma)

Macbook Pro

Iphone 5

Hamilton Ventura watch

Studio Lighting Equipments

Unlimited supply of vanilla latte

a US Visa

Peace on Earth

Some (alright, maybe all) of them may be quite off-budget but I figured if someone can make 8 reindeer fly, an overpriced camera shouldn't be much of a problem. This is my second English proficiency class since I graduated from the academe; the first one being my training class on my previous job. However, I'm still amazed how much I have forgotten the rules on basic English.

On the second day of class, our lecturer made us write essays on two topics he had chosen. The first one was a bar graph that we had to explain in 150 words or more, and on the second one we had to write our opinion about the increasing number of cars in the United Kingdom in 250 words or more. Now, I consider myself as a fairly opinionated man and I don't mind writing what I think, but what I don't like is being told what to write about with a deadline. The pressure somehow pushes my mind into overdrive and I end up with a blank sheet of paper.

Normally, it will just take me a couple of minutes to compose something worthy to be called an essay; but that's just when I write almost gibberish-ly without any consideration of proper grammar. When I do, it takes me almost an hour or more and I find myself sweating on the 30-minute mark. As a remedy, I thought I'd write more often in this blog to loosen them rusty brain gears. I might abuse my poetic license from time to time, but then again, how many of you actually read what I write in here?

Sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk
www.clickbank.com

Organize Your Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

How To Organize And Preserve Your Entire Photo Collection In As Little As 10 Days -- Even If You Have Years And Years Worth Of Photographs And Absolutely No Idea Where To Begin.

giromehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05889162787199699449noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3454117480053813817.post-65263374765044217742012-10-20T23:08:00.002-07:002012-11-03T21:29:19.262-07:002012-11-03T21:29:19.262-07:00

"3.0"

NEW DIVISION. The first time I heard of Tyler was when I looking for the music video of Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" and the first video that was on the search result was Tyler Ward's cover. Curious, I opened the link and became a fan ever since.

Personally, I like how Tyler arranges his covers and make it his own. Fans even say that some of his versions are way better than the originals and I agree with them. His collaborations with other independent artist and fellow Youtubers such as Megan Nicole, Alex G, and Julia Sheer to name a few are among the most viewed videos in Youtube.

A self-confessed Taylor Swift fan, Tyler wrote a song entitled "Tyler Swift" after he had met the country singer in a radio contest which he had won. The video currently has 792k views and Youtube and is one of Tyler's best originals.

On the 25th of September 2012, Ward released half of his new upcoming Official Original Album titled "Hello.Love.Heartbreak" on iTunes. After 12 hours it had already reached #1 in the Singer-Songwriter charts in the USA.The Album features 6 new songs while the other half will also feature 6 new songs and will be released in February 2013.

Tyler Ward's cover of Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie"

Tyler Ward's original song "Tyler Swift"

Tyler Ward's original song "Dashes" from the album "Hello.Love.Heartbreak"

If you want to know more about Tyler Ward, you can visit his website at www.tylerwardmusic.com or you can visit his Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/tylerwardmusic.

You can also purchase Tyler's album at <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; So, supposing you already have a nice girl with you and you want to keep her around for a little much longer. And we all know that nothing impresses the ladies more than a guy who knows his way in the kitchen. But sad to say we can't all be chefs and bakers. So here's a little something you can cook up for that special someone and it'll only take you less than 10 minutes to prepare.

Here are the ingredients and materials that you will need: A box of Pancake Mix (preferably the one that only needs water), a microwavable container, a mixing bowl, spatula, and a microwave.First, prepare the pancake mix batter according to the box instruction (most often you will just have to add a certain amount of water into the mix and you're done). Do this using a mixing bowl and spatula. Make sure to mix the batter properly until it reaches a fine consistency. Transfer the batter into the microwavable container. Make sure to fill only 2/3 parts of the container to allow space for the batter to grow when baking. Then, put the prepared mixture into the microwave and set it to bake for 8 minutes at 70% power. When done, transfer the finished product into a plate and serve it with maple syrup (which usually comes along with the pancake mix) and you're all set.

Now considering that the pancake mix is meant to be pan fried and not baked much more in a microwave, you'll probably end up getting something like my girlfriend - sweet on the outside, awfully tough on the inside". With that said, you're probably better off ordering take out than chewing rubber. But nevertheless, your effort (or lack thereof) will certainly impress any girl and you might just be lucky enough to use that left-over syrup somewhere else.

Sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk
www.clickbank.com

Organize Your Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

How To Organize And Preserve Your Entire Photo Collection In As Little As 10 Days -- Even If You Have Years And Years Worth Of Photographs And Absolutely No Idea Where To Begin.

giromehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05889162787199699449noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3454117480053813817.post-47506909368281855382012-10-11T20:52:00.004-07:002012-11-03T21:31:57.594-07:002012-11-03T21:31:57.594-07:00
"Growing Pains"

ELENA’S WORST NIGHTMARE - Elena awakens on the morning after the accident to find the thing she dreaded most has come true - she died with vampire blood in her system and now must go through the terrible transition to become a vampire…or face certain death. (looking at Juan) How about you Juan, do we have a deal?
Juan: Sweet deal demon but I shall wait upon the Lord.
Demon: Suit yourself.

And the demon vanished in thin air.

The following morning Pedro received a call from Kate Upton where the supermodel proposed her undying love for him and asked him to marry her. And before Pedro could even ask how she knew he existed in this world, the doorbell rang and outside the door stood an agent from the Department of Foreign Affairs who personally handed Pedro his fiancée visa. That night Pedro bid goodbye to Juan and boarded a plane bound for the US. Pedro married Kate Upton, became a multi-billion dollar magnate and had everything he ever wanted in his life. But then the 10th year came and the demon showed himself again to Pedro and dragged him to hell where he is to burn for eternity.

Back in the far away land south of the Philippines, Juan kept waiting upon the Lord. But after sixty years of waiting in vain, Juan on his death bed finally bid goodbye to his American dream.

In heaven, the Lord welcomed Juan as he entered the pearly gates. Sensing a bit of sadness in his eyes, the Lord asked Juan:

God: Juan, is there something that you want to ask me?
Juan: Yes Lord. I'm really happy that I am finally here with you now. I waited patiently and faithfully on earth but Lord, why is it that my visa never came?
God: My child, I loved how you patiently waited for my will, but the reason why your visa never came was because you never reapplied.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

New International Version (NIV)

16 Therefore we do not lose heart.<sup class="crossreference" style="font-weight: bold; line-height: normal; vertical-align: top;" value="(<a href="#cen-NIV-28876A" title="See cross-reference A">A</a>)"> Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly<sup class="crossreference" style="font-weight: bold; line-height: normal; vertical-align: top;" value="(<a href="#cen-NIV-28876B" title="See cross-reference B">B</a>)"> we are being renewed<sup class="crossreference" style="font-weight: bold; line-height: normal; vertical-align: top;" value="(<a href="#cen-NIV-28876C" title="See cross-reference C">C</a>)"> day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.<sup class="crossreference" style="font-weight: bold; line-height: normal; vertical-align: top;" value="(<a href="#cen-NIV-28877D" title="See cross-reference D">D</a>)"> 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,<sup class="crossreference" style="font-weight: bold; line-height: normal; vertical-align: top;" value="(<a href="#cen-NIV-28878E" title="See cross-reference E">E</a>)"> since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk

www.clickbank.com

Unseen Apps For Iphone And Ipod Touch

Access To 50+ Most Useful And Unique Apps For Iphone And Ipod Touch. Biased with rock bands with girl fronts, I quickly researched about the group and I was surprised that they are actually a Christian band.

Formerly known as Breaking the Silence, The Letter Black actually started out as a praise team at their local church with Sarah Anthony and her husband Mark Anthony as a duo on vocals. Later when they were signed to Tooth and Nail Records (P.O.D., The OC Supertones, FM Static) they changed the name of the band to "The Letter Black". During an interview with author Rebecca Cicione, the band explained that the name "The Letter Black" actually came out of a joke. Their manager was joking around with the guy from [the band] Helmet. And he was like “a band name doesn’t have to be some deep, meaningful thing.” And they were like “it could be the letter black!”.

The song I heard, Hanging On by a Thread, came out from their debut album of the same name which was released on May 4, 2010 through Tooth & Nail records and it placed The Letter Black as number 8 in the iTunes rock section in the same day. Currently, the video of the first single out of their debut album Fire with Fire has 600k+ hits.

In a nutshell, if you rock with Evanescence, We Are The Fallen, and Paramore, you'll definitely rock with The Letter Black.

The Letter Black - Fire with Fire

for more info about the band, please visit their website HERE

sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk

www.clickbank.com

Unseen Apps For Iphone And Ipod Touch

Access To 50+ Most Useful And Unique Apps For Iphone And Ipod Touch. And as you may have noticed, my updates on these shows have been absent.

Last night, I received a message from a friend of mine and here's how our conversation went:

Angel: Oist! Buhi paka? (Hey, still alive?)
Me: Yup: mustamus ginamos? (Yup, how are you pinoy caviar?)
Angel: Been better. Why haven't you been posting new episodes of Glee and the other shows?
Me: Just because I don't watch them anymore. And basin masotto ko (and maybe I'll be sotto-mized {in reference to the new Cybercrime Law})
Angel: Bullshit. Just because you don't watch them doesn't mean we have to stop too!
Me: Wow demanding haha! Alright, due to YOUR persistent demand, I'll have the updates posted on the blog soon. :)
Angel: Good boy! I'm going to sleep.
Me: Sweet dreams!
Angel: worst nightmares!

The old hag did have a point since its my blog and I did start somewhat of a following by posting those videos. So, just to show how much I love you guys, I have decided to put myself at risk of being Sotto-mized by updating those videos plus I will also be adding new shows (those that I am currently following myself) soon. The entire movie was said to have been shot behind a green screen inside an abandoned warehouse that provided the dark mood of the film which, basing on the trailer, had some influences in HDR.

Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles follows the story of Makoy (Dingdong Dantes) who after visiting her pregnant girlfriend Sonia (played by the ever sexy Lovi Poe) in her remote hometown, gets into trouble with a group of townsfolk who transform themselves into terrifying monsters called Tiktik. I'm not sure why they named the monster after inguinal dirt but apparently that's what they call them in the Bacolod where Director Erik Matti is from.

The plot of the movie is simple enough clearly a sign that the producers wanted this movie to be more visually entertaining among other reasons. However, kudos to the writers and the rest of the creative team for coming up with a monster movie with more than the shock factor.

Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles is set to be released on October 17. As the title not-so-obviously states, I will be featuring one artist per week may it be a singer, band, or a photographer, etc. My choice will solely depend on my personal taste or lack thereof.

So to start with, I first heard of Marissa Dattoli from her cover of Paramore's Monster in Youtube and thought that she was just awesome. After her first band, Good & Broken, seemingly vanished into thin air leaving a large following of fans craving for more, front woman Marrisa quickly found herself a new band through mutual friends and Crystalyne was born.

Crystalyne are a Toronto based pop-rock quartet composed of Marissa Dattoli on vocals, Josh Givens on lead guitars and back-up vocals, Scotty B on drums, and Justin Niece on base guitars. Their first song "Weapon" gathered 13k+ hits after only 6 months from its release while their latest video "Wolves" reached over 7k views in it’s first week on Youtube, and currently has 35k+ views.

In a nutshell, if you like Paramore, Hey Monday, and VersaEmerge, you'll definitely like Crystalyne.

Crystalyne - Wolves

Crystalyne - Weapon

Connect with the band:

www.crystalynemusic.com
www.crystalyne.bandcamp.com
www.crystalynemusic.tumblr.com
www.twitter.com/crystalynemusic
www.youtube.com/crystalynemusic

Sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk
www.clickbank.com

Organize Your Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

How To Organize And Preserve Your Entire Photo Collection In As Little As 10 Days -- Even If You Have Years And Years Worth Of Photographs And Absolutely No Idea Where To Begin.

giromehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05889162787199699449noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3454117480053813817.post-7811782069397636432012-10-02T01:27:00.000-07:002012-11-03T21:34:02.141-07:002012-11-03T21:34:02.141-07:00A trending topic circulating around Juan's cyberspace lately is the implementation of the Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. Facebook alone is flooded by status messages voicing out their concerns and people 'black'-ing out their profile pictures as a sign of protest against the said act. It makes me wonder how many of these netizens have actually read the entire act before joining the protest band wagon. Wipe that silly grin off your face and read it HERE.

There have already been six petitions filed against the Cybercrime Prevention Act which basically revolve around it being unconstitutional due to vagueness of some of the sections (specifically sections 4, 5 and 6) and how it curtails the constitutional rights to due process, speech, expression, free press and academic freedom.

The two main concerns regarding the Cybercrime Act are provisions that (a) allow authorities to collect data from personal user accounts on social media and listen in on voice/video applications, such as Skype, without a warrant and (b) libel which can possibly land you behind bars even if you just re-tweet or comment on an online update or blog post.

Being a casual netizen myself, I understand where all these hostilities come from. But I sincerely believe that the intention behind the act is for the protection of the Filipino people. So from one netizen to another, let me try and discuss a few pros and cons as well as some arguments regarding this matter from a casual internet user's point of view.

PROS:

Remember those pesky hackers who invade our personal and business emails, changing our passwords, stealing important data, etc? Well, now we can finally sue their asses.

Have you ever had those 'posers' in your social networking accounts? Instead of just ranting about it 'til kingdom come you can now throw them and their insecurities in jail.

Are you a kid, or a parent of a kid, who's a victim of cyber bullies? Guess what, payback's a bitch.

Have you seen those poor lil' kids on the telly who are victims of child pornography/cyber sex? Finally, we can hang the perpetrators by the balls and serve them on a nice cold dish of justice.

How about those annoying text message scams trying to con you of your money? Yep, jail time for you buddy.

CONS:

Say goodbye to tweeting that lying-cheating-piece-of-crap Girome Medio an "ASSHOLE! DIE IN HELL! #anticybercrimeact! Or else prepare to face a libel suit.

Fond of sending naked videos or pictures of yourself to your Amerikano boyfriend? Careful, you can be punished with imprisonment of prision mayor or a fine of at least Two hundred thousand pesos (PhP200,000.00) but not exceeding One million pesos (PhPl,000,000.00) or both.

No more torrent and file-sharing.

Looking at the list above, do you think it's just a little bit selfish that you're protesting against the act just because it prevents you from ranting online? I'm not a hardcore internet geek, just a casual user as most of the people are in this country, and from updating my Facebook page, my photography website, blogging, and checking my emails, I really don't have any other need of the internet other than these. And if you ask me, I do appreciate the security the government is trying to establish with this Cybercrime Act.

With the internet's capability to spread anything in cyberspace in just milliseconds, I believe that the penalty imposed to anyone posting a libelous comment online, be it on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else, (which is a maximum prison sentence of 12 years and a fine of one million pesos ($24,000) as compared to the penalty imposed to newspaper editors and other trained professionals working in traditional media (who can only be imprisoned for just four years and fined 6,000 pesos for defamation), is just fair. Besides, who still reads the newspaper? Ninety-percent of the country gets their news either from their mobile phones or their computers.

Contrary to the protesting beliefs, the Cybercrime Act is just an overdue extension of the government's duty to safeguard and protect its people. Comparing it to Martial Law is just childish and absurd. While Martial Law takes that lollipop away from you, the Cybercrime Act merely watches over you so that you're not gonna poke anyone in the eye with that lollipop stick.

I am not on anyone's side here. I understand the concerns being debated regarding this law but I also have faith that the RA 10175 is the much awaited step needed for a developing IT country such as ours. Try putting yourselves on the shoes of those who have been victims of Cybercrimes and imagine their renewed hope as they see a glimpse of justice through the Act.

I understand that the RA 101 75 might still have a few dinks here and there, but instead of trying to go against the entire act itself, why not give it a try and together we can polish out those rough edges and help it improve. What are we to lose, one or two of those rants and mumbles on Facebook? Personally, I think we all deserve a rest from those. Seriously, who really wants to know how Luzviminda "Hates that fcukng whore @Apolonia! XoXo"?

Unless you're that someone who intends to commit those offenses, you really don't have much reason to complain about. But for those who do intend to break the rules, a little jail time does boost a hacker's reputation so it's still a WIN-WIN situation.

Finally, for those who remains skeptical about all these, just rest assured that we are still in the Philippines and last time I checked policies don't really get implemented around here. And if you still think that I'm talking shit, well then, sue me.

Sponsored by:

www.grmphotography.tk
www.clickbank.com

Organize Your Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

How To Organize And Preserve Your Entire Photo Collection In As Little As 10 Days -- Even If You Have Years And Years Worth Of Photographs And Absolutely No Idea Where To Begin.

giromehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05889162787199699449noreply@blogger.com0
