The parking situation in this place will never stop taking my breath away. When do you think LA will start doing this?

Global Citizen Festival!

2012-10-05T07:30:00.000-04:00

This is a video from the show: Fast, Free Video Hosting & Video Sharing - VideoBam

So I got free tickets to the Global Citizen Concert and took my sis, it was AMAZING. I mainly came to see the Black Keys and Foo Fighters, and neither one of them disappointed the crowd. The cherry on the cake was that this was the last scheduled FF show for a while. I've always been a big fan but in the past year have seen them live, 3 times and have become a fan for life!!!

Here's some fun pics form the show:

I had a nice run on Thursday before the weekend of the concert and just seeing all the signs and blockades made me super excited for the show. It made me so happy to have this amazing event just outside my front door!

Liz Lemon's Apt!

2012-10-04T08:00:00.000-04:00

I found it!!!!

I love Tina Fey. Do you know who I love more than Tina Fey? Liz Lemon, the ridiculous character she writes and plays on 30 Rock. And if Liz where a real person she would be my Upper West Side Neighbor at 160 Riverside Dr.

I went by there to take my own photo but the doorman did not look amused. Blerg!

Frankenweenie!!!

2012-10-03T08:30:00.000-04:00

I snagged 2 tickets to a free screening of Frankenweenie in 3D that Kasia and I attended happily! The movie is great and just what I needed to get me into the Halloween spirit!

They gave us fancy GREEN 3D glasses branded with the movie. And in the movie I thought I hear Bean's voice from KROQ's Kevin & Bean show, so I tweeted him and he got back to me! hahah

I want...

you can buy it for me here.

and since I'm spewing demands I want this one too!

Moma PS1 Warmup

2012-09-30T09:00:00.000-04:00

"MoMA PS1 presents Warm Up 2012, beginning July 7 and taking place every Saturday this summer through September 8. Now celebrating its 15th year, the museum's highly anticipated outdoor series will continue its tradition of introducing audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, performance, and DJs. The annual series is held in MoMA PS1's courtyard, which this year will feature a temporary urban landscape by HWKN called Wendy, the winning design of MoMA PS1's 13th annual Young Architects Program. M. Wells will be cooking in the courtyard all summer long."

The whole event is basically a huge outdoor dance party on Summer Saturdays!

The Stone Pony at Asbury Park

2012-09-29T10:59:00.000-04:00

Monica and I hit up The Offspring/Neon Trees show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ a few weeks ago for their outdoor summer series. I really just wanted to check out the venue since its sort of famous and seeing The Offspring wasn't a bad deal either.

Fantasy Football

2012-09-22T08:00:00.000-04:00

Last year I joined Melissa A's all girl fantasy football league called "Girls Rule Boys Drool" and didn't really pay attention. This year I want to watch more games and try to get into it. So far so good.

I'm in the lead for Weeks 1 AND 2!!

week 1

week 2

USC2NYC

2012-09-21T07:00:00.000-04:00

Melissa and her boyfriend Matt got tickets to the USC vs Syracuse preseason game and so of course I went. The USC Traveling Marching band held a rally in Times Square on Friday at noon which was amazing and full of fans! And the game was Saturday. Melissa follows a super fan on twitter so we crashed his Tailgate Party through a Twitter invite. All we had to do was bring some Fireball Whiskey, which is incredible! Joy and I left after half time since there was a crazy Tornado warning and the weather was BAD. So fun!

Do you see what I see???

Grey's Papaya W 72nd St

2012-09-20T08:30:00.000-04:00

This is the Gray's Papaya on W 72nd St. I pass by it ALL the time but rarely ever go there for food.

I stopped in one late night at the end of a long, hard day of watching football with some friends downtown. I like my dog with everything on top and a pineapple juice.

Coney Island

2012-09-19T06:00:00.000-04:00

I am obsessed with Coney Island. I have been since I moved here. I love that it has the oldest roller coaster, one of the first ferris wheels and the feel of Americana everywhere.

So when I found some girls that wanted to go hang out and enjoy it with me I was all over it!

DELICIOUS!

The Cyclone

Opened in 1927!

The Girls (about to barf...)

Now, I'm not afraid of heights. But it was a windy day and when they got down from the swings, they all look a little shook up! Apparently the wind at that height was terrifying!

The 'Mermaid Parade' Ride

Cutest thing ever!!!!

My dad is a huge fan of their work....

The Wonder Wheel!

The Story on Deno:
"Deno often told his wife Luna, that one day he would buy her the Wonder Wheel for her as a wedding present - a ring so big, everyone in the world would see how much he loved her - a ring that would never be lost."

If the wheel looks a bit familiar there is a full size replica at Disneyland.

Freak Show and Bumper Cars with some fun advertising.

my hood: The Upper West Side (81st & Amsterdam)

2012-09-17T07:00:00.000-04:00

The Upper West Side (UWS) is a beautiful neighborhood in Manhattan that lies between Central Park and the Hudson River, above 59th Street. Originally, the northern boundary of the Upper West Side was 110th Street (at the very top of Central Park), but nowadays many New Yorkers consider the Upper West Side to go as far north as 125th Street, covering parts of Morningside Heights, Harlem, and Columbia University’s campus. The neighborhood is known for being primarily a residential and commercial area, but it certainly has its fair share of fascinating history, beautiful parks, and iconic pop culture.

Originally called the "Bloomingdale District," the neighborhood used to contain the farms and country houses of New York’s wealthy. However, development of the area was at a stand-still for decades, even when Central Park was being laid out in the 1860’s and 70’s. It wasn’t until the 9th Avenue elevated train extended uptown and Columbia University relocated to the area that the neighborhood began to change. The Upper West Side experienced a building boom from 1885-1910 and New York’s first subway, which ran straight through the Upper West Side, was opened in 1904.

2012-09-10T07:00:00.000-04:00

I attended this really awesome event Lululemon did last Friday. Basically the premise was that we find serenity in ourselves in the midst of Yoga or a great workout and its relationship to spirituality. The creators of the Wanderlust Festival put the evening together withe some amazing speakers. It was a motivating night listening to some incredible people inside one of the most gorgeous churches in the city, Riverside Church on the Upper West Side.

Well + Good did a write up about the event.

I also got some yummy beverages to take home too! Thanks to Palo Tea and Balance Water.
