Everyday Life with our son

He is 3

2014-07-14T22:36:00.001-04:00

Where did the time go? Yep my little boy turned 3 back in July and it's been a great journey. So much has changed since he turned 3. So much fun to have toddler conversation. It's such a blessing and I am enjoying every minute of it. To celebrate his big day we had a small party for him at the park near the house. It was a great day as he spent it with family and friends. I'm so lucky and bless to have him as my child. Lord I thank you for your blessings everyday. My Dear Ayden we love love you so much.

Fleet week

2014-05-28T23:28:00.001-04:00

As we all know Fleet week has become part of New York culture and I am so proud to my support to the military family for protecting us and the country. Every year different ships paraded on the East river along the five Boroughs and we the civilians visit the ships to see the wonders. For a period of week the city held various events as the sailors and guardsman participated in those event. I went into two different navy ships: the USS OAK HILL 51 and the Coast guard Coleman. It was such a great experience and I'm glad I stood online in the hot sun for 1 hour to get in. I salute all the military personnel.

Holiday trip to Brooklyn

2014-05-28T22:33:00.001-04:00

We had a fabulous four day weekend. We visited the amusement park in Brooklyn, the New York Aquarium and spent sometimes walking along the beach and the board walk. It was our first time going to the amusement park since they opened about 2 or 3 years ago. Ayden loved every minute of the adventure. The trip to the aquarium was cut short because of the hurricane that had passed last year in Brooklyn it had destroyed majority of the place. As a result most the animals were transported to other places throughout the states. Most of the exhibits are close until 2016. We were able to go the beach, then went on the rides since it's in the same area.

Coney Island was so crowded since it was a hot day and the unofficial start of summer so to speak. About those rides, I am not a big fan of them at all but my son loves them, besides he has no fear. I screamed so much I lost my voice for the rest of that day but it was worth it.

On that note: I hope your holiday weekend was fun as well.

Photo recap!!

2014-04-29T23:16:00.001-04:00

This post is about pictures that I took of our son. I am so greatful for The Lord and for our son. I understand there are parents who are against sharing pictures of their children on social media but for me I know my limits, I know exactly what I should and should not post. In other words parents should be mindful about what they sharing.

Enjoy!!

A Yankee game

2014-04-29T22:07:00.001-04:00

The Yankee game started our weekend. We were excited because we had great seats very close to the field. We really tried to enjoy the game but it was way too cold to be at a ballpark to begin with. The way the weather was going these past few weeks I really thought it was going to be a warm Friday night. I was wrong, we did not even stay past sixth inning besides the yankees played poorly and got stomped on by the Angels. Even with the cold breeze I was able to take a few pictures and saw Dereck Jeter at a close range. So worth it!

He could not take the breeze.

We were so cold.

I was surprised to find a healthy stand at the stadium.

Easter Recap!!

2014-04-21T23:36:00.001-04:00

I hope you all had wonderful Easter. We had a great time reflecting on the meaning Easter and spending quality with our love ones. We went to church then gave Ayden his Easter basket with some goodies. We spent the rest of the day at home as a family.

Ayden and my neice and their baskets.

In church.

The milestones with this little guy. Such a blessing.

Back to work

2014-03-23T23:32:00.001-04:00

Hope you had a fabulous weekend. It's so to speak spring season but this week feels more like winter all over again. The inconsistency in the weather is driving me nuts for several reasons. There's a snow storm making it's way to the East cost for Tuesday and Wednesday. The allergy has gotten worse, I can barely sleep at night, I am exhausted from wearing layers upon layers. On the bright side I'm hoping this week will the last week of the cold front.

Today is back to work for after a full week of recooperating from the surgery. I feel good and I am so blessed to be going back to work. I seriously miss going to work.

Since we sort of had a taste of spring on Saturday so I took Ayden to the park. He had a great time even though he was coughing uncontrollably. For some odd reason Ayden tends to get sick when there's no consistency in the weather. Hopefully he will get better in time for the summer.

Brax our puppy.

Have a wonderful and positive week.

Another surgery!

2014-03-20T22:46:00.001-04:00

It was a week ago today that I underwent surgery to remove a cyst, a mass in the fallopian tube and scar tissues that were around my ovaries. It was the second time that I went for the laparoscopic cystectomy, the first time was in fall of 07 and a lot has changed since then. Back in 07, because part of my fallopian tube was removed; I was told it would be a lot harder for me to conceive. However by the grace of God and my strong faith I was able to conceived three years later with one tube. This year I faced the same issues. It was after I had my son I started experience sharp pain in the lower abdomen, I kept putting it off like the cyst would really go away or like my doctor said it would shrink on its own. That did not happen, as a matter of fact it got bigger, and the good tube that i have was blocked with fluid, making it a lot harder for me to conceive again. With this surgery the doctor was able to drain out the fluid, scraped away the scar tissues, and the complete removal of the cyst.

I was so anxious going in this time around just because I have a son, a hubby, a dog, I'm not living with my mom and I am working at a good job, This is a lot of responsibility on my shoulder. The surgery went well and I had the best team from Presbyterian hospital. I took a week off from to recover and it's been very lonely being at home resting. How much TV can I watch? My body is doing well and I feel wonderful. My family has been by side and my hubby is a great caretaker. Even though I am getting better I still have to take the recovery one step at a time, especially when it comes to heavy lifting, this is out of the questions. It's really impossible when I have a very active 2 and a half year old who needs his mommy.

Here we go!

A very painful and swollen belly

With this surgery wearing fitted clothings are out of the pictures for now.

And the Oscar goes to...

2014-03-03T22:23:00.001-05:00

So you all know the most festive day in holiday was Oscar Sunday. It was big lavalish celebration full of sequence, beads and varying types of shades. For us civilians it was a day to stay glue to our TV set and see who wore it best or who see we all can relate to through acceptance their speeches. Who's who on the red carpet, any gossip we can find to make twitter goes crazy. The red carpet event went well and the award show was fantastic. I really enjoyed it and I hope you did too.

Photo of the day. Most retweet ever. That was epic!

Pizza boy is so lucky. He collected $1600

Sesame Street Live!

2014-02-19T23:06:00.001-05:00

I hope all is well. Just came back from a 3 day weekend filled with crazy cold weather and snow. I'm seriously so over the snow and the cold weather. However, I did not let that stop me from taking my little man to see Sesame Street live. We saw the early morning show just to avoid the crowds since school is out. The show was at Madison Square Garden in NYC. The Sesame Street gang put on a good show. We had great seats and it was so awesome to see him sit through the performances. He was calling out Elmo, trying to conversation with all the characters. We really had fun and I can't wait to take on the next event.

All I want is SPRING!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

2014-02-14T22:20:00.001-05:00

I hope you guys are having a great Valentine's day with your loved ones. We are spending the night at home in our cozy sofa cuddling. Whatever you have plan for enjoy it with the family.

Much love!!!

This morning before heading to school. He really enjoys the card.

Another storm!!

2014-02-13T18:22:00.001-05:00

Another storm is upon us. This time we get three part of the storm: snow, heavy rain, strong wind and possibly thunder and lightning. Puddle after puddle. It is a nightmare to be traveling by foot in this blizzard, yep I walked to the train station. The streets are in no good condition but I made it to work this morning. My little guy went school this morning even though the school is just a block away, we were able to have a little bit of fun in the snow.

The city did not shutdown unlike the other cities or states. Transportation was very slow and I had to report to work, since we are going to have a 4 day holiday weekend we have to make sure we completed our projects through Tuesday. It's never fun when working in advertising. At least I was able to leave work early.

I snapped some pictures this morning on the way to work. it's winter wonderland when it snows. I hope you stay safe in the storm.

Super Bowl ready!!!

2014-02-01T00:25:00.001-05:00

I'm sure by now you all know that my city New York is hosting the Super Bowl. It's the biggest party of the year so far and it's less than 72 hours away. So many things are happening in midtown and all over New York, a Superbowl Bouldvard is created in the middle of Times Squares with football activities. All major television networks have settled in Times Square. Macys dedicated half a floor for everything related to football. It's a big event for sports fan and I know there are so much on the line for both team. I'm sure by now you should have an idea who's is playing (well in case you don't it's Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks ) it's Payton Manning Vs Russel Wilson. Some people are going to watch the game mainly for the million dollar :30 spots that are very popular and the half time show. We all know how last year half time went down with Beyoncé and this year it should be the in the same level with Bruno Mars.

Mike and are planning a little tailgating in our living room, like we did last year. I hope you are doing something fun too.

Go #Broncos

Snow day!

2014-01-21T18:57:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone lovely holiday weekend. After having an extra day off now we are back at work only to leave early because of snow storm in NY. Yep it's been snowing non stop here and it really took me by surprised, because I thought it was going to snow in the evening. I did not wear my UGGS as a result my feet were freezing in the cold. The roads are horrible and with the wind chill it's very dangerous. We managed to do our work early and left by 3p. If anyone is out there please take it easy. I hope you are at home and enjoying a cozy warm night.

MLK day!!!

2014-01-20T23:10:00.001-05:00

Today is known as MLK day. It's a day for reflection on our lives in this country, how society has changed. What we need to do to make our lives better. I'm very thankful for all that Mr. Martin Luther King had done for me and my family. Because of his fight I am able to be a US citizen, I'm able to shop anywhere I please. I'm able live my dream and have bigger dreams. My son can freely can go to any parks, Has many friends to play with.

We have come along way and it is our duties to continue teaching our children, neighbors to appreciate one another. Violence does not resolve anything.

Free at last!free at last!

Road to the SuperBowl!!!

2014-01-19T15:27:00.001-05:00

HAPPY SUNDAY!! In case you don't know this but Today is the biggest day in the NFL for us the fans, advertisers , the teams and more. Today's game determine who gets to go to NEW YORK for the big game. It's the SuperBowl and this what all the players dream off from the first day off the season to today. The games are even more special because for the 4 teams it's a rivalry that's big and so much to loose. It's old school vs new school. Payton Manning vs Tom Brady will be playing their biggest game today. Legacies are on the online, history in the making, stakes are high and it's now or wait for next year. When you're that close to the big game, you're thinking about playing well, make great plays, standout and be hero for you and your team. All the hard works will be put to a test today and I'm very excited to see who really wants it more.

Side note: I won tickets to the superbowl party that Magic Johnson is hosting in the Time Warner building. I'm beyond excited and great way to start celebrating my birthday.

Who wants it more.

Legends will be made.

Enjoy!!!

A light winter look!

2014-01-06T16:17:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone had a great weekend despite the wild weather across the border. This morning I woke up to a surprising 50 degree weather, it feels like spring, it made me tempting to wear a light spring jacket. Yep that's how deceiving this weather is. The meteorologists from all the networks have warned us about the cold front that is fast approaching. I had to put a scarf and gloves in Ayden's backpack for later today. In the evening the temperature will be in the 30s and windy.

I know it's winter but I don't think I should wear only dark color. I gotta keep it light. After the holiday I started doing a little shopping and I got this sweater from Banana Republic it was on sale with additional 50% off ( that was a great bargain). The skirt is a light purple corduroy that I got on New Year's Eve from GAP it was super cheap only $7. The boots are FRYE from 6pm I got them at a great deal also under 130. By the way these boots are super comfortable. If you're on a hunt for a great bargain now is the time to look because the stores are cleaning their stockroom to make way for spring and summer merchandise.

Weekend Snow storm

2014-01-04T22:52:00.001-05:00

The new year comes with a BANG, a cold front and lots of snow. Yep we had snow, strong wind, and the deep freeze that made things worse to start the weekend. Due to the heavy snow overnight through the Friday morning. Lots of people did not made it to work, from my team only two of us showed up. We managed to stay for a few hours then headed home. I was able to take a few pictures that morning.

Happy new Year!!!

2014-01-01T22:31:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone is having great new year. Let's hope for health, prosperity, security, unity, hope, peace, happiness, love and many blessings. Let's this new year things get even better. I was blessed and thankful to ring in the new year with my two leading men, friends and family. We stayed home to watch the ball dropped in Times Square. The bitter cold winter does not allow me to join the folks in Times Square NYC to celebrate. Since I had to work for half a day on Tuesday I was able to visit Times Square as the crowd begin to ensemble and settle in their spots. Times Square is the place to be but it comes with it's consequences.

I'm not big on setting plan aside because I don't want to start something that I can't finish. On that note, my goal is to continue eating healthy, stay away from the "bad" food. To continue be a God follower and stay stress free.

My niece Cydney her first new year.

Happy happy new year 2014!!!

There was long lines and people everywhere at Times Square

Merry Christmas!

2013-12-25T15:37:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone is having joyous Christmas with their loved ones. May your Christmas Day be filled with joy, peace, hope, laughter, and love. While we are sharing gifts, and we are also praising The Lord and celebrating Jesus Christ. In this holiday we give thanks and continue to care for one another, and think of the less fortunate. I'm very blessed to share this holiday with my family and friends and social media friends.

Have a bless and merry Christmas Day!!!

Weekend!

2013-12-23T22:45:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone had a great and hopefully you're done or half way there with Christmas shopping since the big holiday is only 2 days away. In this festive season it's all about giving and sharing. We bought gifts for my niece, Ayden's friends and the teachers at the daycare. We did not get a lot of stuff but I'm hoping one day I can get him the iPad to help him out with schooling. I got him educational toys along with a car and other gifts from my mom and my sister.

We got the presents wrap and place under the Christmas tree. I sent out the cards to the friends and family. I think this year I did better than last year in terms of having the presents wrapped and sent out.

Saturday was unseasonably warm, the temperature was in the 60s and we loved it. so we headed to macys to view the window display for the holiday. It was a gorgeous day for some outdoor activity and the little guy had a great time going from window to window.

Below are pictures that capture our weekend.

2013-12-16T23:26:00.001-05:00

We saw Santa and went on a pajama party with CowBella from the pajanimals. We had Great with CowBella with all the kids who attended.

Holiday update

2013-12-03T21:45:00.001-05:00

I hope everyone had a great time with their loved ones over the holiday. Im so thankful for my wonderful family, they are an amazing team. Mike and I were hosting thanksgiving this year that means we had a lot to do. We did some of the cooking the night before then finish the rest before the guests arrived. We kept it small just like last year, My sister came with her family and my mom. Although it was small we had a great time. We watched some football game but had major plan on doing big Black Friday shopping. Since we don't live too from Toys R Us my sister and I visted the store to purchase diapers and wipes that were on sale. Other than that I stayed away from the stores with the long lines and chaos. Besides I had no desire on making any big purchase since money is very tight for me right now. I'm beyond great full for my family and I hope you're of yours as well. I really hope you had a wonderful memorable holiday weekend.

My niece Cydney who is almost 6 moths.

Grandma and her two grand kids. Such a blessing.
