Sony Ericsson recently(17th June,2008) launched C905 it’s first Cyber-shot slider and most advanced camera phone yet. Stockholm, Sweden – April 30, 2008 – Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication today announced plans to release a new technology that, for the first time, bridges the Abobe® Flash Lite™ and Java ME™ development platforms. The new technology and tools, referred to as Project Capuchin, make it possible to combine the richness of Flash Lite and Java ME technologies allowing developers to utilize the best attributes of both software stacks to create content-rich mobile applications. Sony Ericsson has plans to make the technology available during the second half of 2008 and will demonstrate Project Capuchin enabled applications at the JavaOne Developer Event in San Francisco, May 6 – 9, booth 718 in the Pavilion.

Start xs++
Turn of the phone.
Press the button connect.
Hold "C" button on the phone and connect the DCU-60 cable.
if CID is lower then 52 xs++ will ask you if you want to upgrade CID press yes.
Tick flash main firmware and browse for your main.
Tick flash file system and browse for your fs.
Tick customize file system select phone model and region.
Press the flash button and wait.

Upgrade CID
Start xs++
Turn of the phone.
Press the button connect.

Make the patch
Start patch generator.
Open firmware in the patch generator.
Press the button make patch.

Press the button add and browse for the main file.

Terms to know

Firmware: The software that makes up the entirety of your phone. The firmware consists of:

GDFS: This piece of firmware contains the settings, attributes, and essential components needed to make the phone fully functional. Damaging this will automatically corrupt it, rendering your phone useless. This guide will explain how to backup this necessary component incase it becomes corrupt. Backup of this is necessary because this component is unique to every phone, meaning that no two GDFS will be the same. Flashing a different
GDFS, whether it says it is clean or not, will result in an automatic death of your phone .

FS ( FileSystem ): This firmware file contains all the files that run your phone (Sound files, menu files, etc.) Every time you flash a new FS onto your phone, you will need to customize
the phone, or you will experience an error.

MAIN: The Operating System (OS) of your phone. Without this, the phone will not run, and will not turn on. After a MAIN file has been flashed, the phone does not need to be customized.

Custompack ( Customization, Custompack ): This is usually a directory that contains files the initialize, or activate, the phones FS. Without this, you will get an Error whenever you start up your phone. Every time you flash a new FS onto your phone, you must flash a Custompack. Flashing a new MAIN, however does not require you to flash a Custompack. However, flashing a MAIN and a FS at the same time will require a Custompack, because you flashed a FS.

XS++: A program that is very useful and easy to flash your phone with. I personally prefer this over SETool 2 Lite, because as many people say, SETool 2 Lite is a GUI minefield, in the sense that all the buttons are crammed together, and if youâ€™re not careful, pressing the wrong button will kill your phone. XS++ is the prime tool for flashing and customizing your phone, because you can flash a FS, MAIN, and Custompack in oneflashing session. This guide is now using XS++2.x, with updated loaders, which now results in fast customization.

SEUS. Sony Ericsson Update Service. This free online service from SE will update your phone to the latest firmware available for your operator. Sometimes your operator may not have signed off on new firmware releases, meaning branded handsets often don't get the latest firmware when updated via SEUS.When you update your firmware using SEUS, all your settings, user files and call history are preserved. Most other methods that will be mentioned here will wipe user settings and files.

Safety Tips

Don't flash corrupt main into your phone ! XS++ flashing process may be get stuck in between !
So Use the Generic Main given here which is tested and works !!

Keep the battery at 90-100 % charge...!! This is necessary...

A Physics Lesson : As battery charge goes down the potential across the terminals falls down...!! Its Obvious from conservation of energy . Enjoy You learned something new !! Lesson ends..!

While using XS++ don't load your computers processor !!
Your Computer should not hang in between !!
And also Power should not shutdown !! ( i mean computer must not shutdown )

Plan Of Action

First backup GDFS and Then We Flash in a W580 Main !!!
Flashing the FS is very much possible but not recommended because we have tested and been successful only with w580i Main
Last time when a phone was flashed with both Main and FS .. It worked for 10 days and crashed and its EROM was damaged ( not much because woton does free repair ) but still we don't take risk

While mirko750 has flashed his s500 with a w580 Main and its working flawless to date !!

Guide Starts :

0. Install SEUS ! Reason >> It install all the required drivers for flashing !! which will be used by XS++ !!

1. Backup GDFS ! >> Thanks To Rekoil !

Backing up the GDFS isn't something which necessarily has to be done when flashing firmware, but it is a very good way to ensure you don't damage your phone beyond repair.

Step 1.
Take battery out of phone and put back in (do not turn phone on). Open XS++ and click Connect. Hold down the C button on the phones keypad and connect the USB cable.

Step 2.
Click on the GDFS tab as shown in the picture.

Step 3.
Click Backup GDFS and wait (shouldn't take more than about half a minute).

Step 4.
Done

Flashing The Main !

Now the real flashing
Turn off your phone. Start XS++ . Select USB
Remove the SIM and Memory Card . Reinsert battery.
Click on connect in XS++ and then holding C ( as in SEUS update ) connect your phone to

the USB cable ( with in 30 seconds )
it gets detected then release the C key
The left screen will display your phone details including your firmware version

EROM CID should be CID52. OTP CID should be 51. ( Your Phone Must satisfy this condition for flashing )

Click ' .â€¦â€™ and select the firmware file W580_R6BC002_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn
( keep other options unchecked)

hit the flash button and relax !! it will show finished after loading
when done Exit XS++ and disconnect phone........
well u can now start your phone no problems( insert sim first)

Information :

Radio won't work because the phone does not have a radio tuner.. the phone just searches for stations !
Even the shake feature won't work .. !

Rest everything should work..!

(Tutorial from se-tuning and se-nse forums)
This guide will help u convert your k550i into a Cybershot-Walkman Phone !!
Flash k550 to w610 easily and also make it the coolest phone out there in the crowd !
Then u will have w610i
k550i+w610i best of both worlds and popularly know as Cybershot-Walkman
Flash at your own risk ! I don't know if this voids your warranty !
many say it does voids warranty
my idea in that case is flash back to k550

A Word of Caution !

Its very unlikely and rare that your your phone might get damaged !
In case of your bad luck am not responsible ! i don't want to be shameful !
READ Safety TIPS at the end FIRST !!!

This tutorial is general.. all flashing and hacks can be used for any db2020 CID52 phones
but u need the FS and MAIN of the phone that u want to flash to..
examples K550, K610, K790, K800, V630, W830, W850, W610, W710, W880, Z610, Z710 W660 etc
for examples digitzen flashed his s500 to w580i by following this tutorial !!

Don't get scared that this tutorial is really long !
Just flash in W610i Main w610i FS and Customize it ! you will have a wonderful new phone w610i

I have flashed my k550i to w610i appropriately and now i hv
1) cybershot camera drivers

Picture quality does not decrease !! So don't Worry !

Cons: Camera does not start automatically when u open the shutter
u hv to press the cam button after opening shutter.

START :

0: backup all contacts !! ( find a way, there are many ways, if u dont know stop right here this tut is not for u ) yes back up everything in phone..ur ringtones etc.etc

1. First update your phone via SEUS.

this is easy just follow the on screen instructions given by SEUS program !
Reason XS++ supports CID52 flashing and SEUS will update your phone to CID52
don't worry this is absolutely safe and works great ! and this does not void warranty
If your phone is updated then SEUS will says its already updated.. this is the case with all new k550i sold in august and there after ! ppl who got phones before july will hv EROM CID 51 phone !
Installing SEUS is compulsary even if your phone is updated ! because it install drivers required for flashing which XS++ will use !
( if you get that Flash Player not installed message then check this post ! )
Backup of GDFS ! ( to be done only after updating phone )

Now u can use XS++ 2.2 to backup GDFS..

Connect phone..
Shutdown phone .. Reinsert battery ! Remove SIM and M2..
Start XS++
Click on connect in XS++
holding C connect phone to USB cable ! don't leave C untill XS++ says ready for operation !

In configuration select GDFS..
Click Backup GDFS...!
wait for few seconds..!! you get your GDFS back up file !
Keep the GDFS safely !!!!
Backup GDFS only for the first time !!

Done !!

Flashing Main :

2. Now the real flashing
Turn off your phone. Start XS++ . Select USB
Remove the SIM and Memory Card . Reinsert battery.
Click on connect in XS++ and then holding C ( as in SEUS update ) connect your phone to the USB cable ( with in 30 seconds )
it gets detected then release the C key
The left screen will display your phone details including your firmware version

Now Flashing FS:

now restart XS++...reinsert battery...remove sim
connect the phone ( usual method holding c key etc etc )

now select this FS 'W610_R6BC002_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52.fbn'
( unrar it first and get the .fbn file )

check flash FS option !!
keep other option unchecked and hit flash !!
after its done just restart xs++ and reinsert battery

this time u can't start u r phone u will get an error because if your flash FS then you must customize it and that's what is our next step... relax. !

Different FS have Different language files and T9 dictionary files .. and everything else is the same

You must use the FS that has your language.. English is present in all FS by default..!

Now this is a list of what FS has what language..

FS language list... !!

and Cent Europe FS has following languages.. EN CS HU PL and SK.... ( EN is eglish and so on )
if lucky u might have one here see it !! if u not getting an FS...just ask me..!
APAC FS
has got following languages. English, Indonesian-Bahasar, Malay, Philippine-Tagalog, Vietnamese, Chinese simplified
T9: English only !!

You can flash both Main and FS together in one go...!!
now finally customization

download a cust pack from hgetis collection..! if not available for your region... then ask for it..!
i shall creat one for you !!

connect phone ( usual process )
unzip the customization pack ( use the cust pack which goes with the FS of your choice or create one which is very easy )

you will find a folder named "tpa" in it

now in xs++ directory on PC, in the directory where u have xs++.exe create a new folder named "own_custpack"

copy the "tpa" folder into this "own_custpack" folder the path of custom files should be like own_custpack/tpa/preset/custom...

open xs++ and connect fone check only customize file system

now under phone model select 'Own Custpack'
under CDA and Region, select '/own_custpack'

now hit flash...
now in few seconds custom files will be added to your phone and done
Start your phone !! Wait for some time !!

INFORMATION :

You Can Flash Only Main and leave it.. and be on the k550i FS !! This Good for people who are unable to find FS for their Region and Langauge !!
Or People who don' t know how to add languages to FS ( which is tricky )

By Flashing Main You get everything .. Just that you must then separately flash skins and flash menu and nothing else...!
Because FS contains only Media Contents Acoustics Drivers etc .. Which is same for both phones .. But w610i FS has different ringtones and wallpapers..that's all and no difference.
if u flashed only main then your phone says k550i in phone status.. but u flash w610i then its always identified as w610i and also shown as w610i in many places !

But XS++ 2.2 will always identify your phone as k550i .. its because every phone has unique IMEI number ! Even SEUS will identify your phone as k550i because they know very well what IMEI number is what phone..!

inside the own_custpack folder create a new folder named flash
here exactly tpa/preset/system/desktop/

so that u hv own_custpack/tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash/**** .swf files here****

inside this 'flash' folder copy the swf files only
then open XS++ and use customization
upload the same way u uploaded customization files.. ( using breakxs wayin setting as usual )

remember seperate the .swf and .thm in the rar file given below and send only the .swf files using xs++
copy the .thm files as usually u do in file transfer mode when phone is woking in normal conditions

extract them to some other place and see them there...because if u check them out then windows will create thumbs.db files in each of the skins folder ! and u don't want to upload junk to your phone's FS !

While using flash menu in (k550i FS and w610i Main phone) u wont have the radio option in the phone.... ( ignore this if you flashed completely to Walkman !)

while flashing customization delete all .itm files and send only those Customize.xml and preloaded_config.xml
find them in the customization pack in tpa/preset/custom/
this way u won't have Sony Ericsson links all over the phone in games apps pics themes etc !! i hope u guys get it

or otherwise there is an option in XS++ saying Don't upload SE wap links in Customize File System Option.. just check it !

UPDATE : Not Getting the FS for k550i and w610i of your choice ??

Don't worry !! the only difference in FS is language files and of course some preloaded settings of Operator WAP and MMS settings that's!!

So U need to get your language files and its t9 dictionary file and upload it to the phone FS and enable that language !
get your language files form any SE phone FS..it may be for k800 or w810i or any phone.... here is the download list of many FS files

Using this list find out in which FS u might get ur language files

Get the FS and extract its contents and get the language files and upload it your phone... i have given the link to the tut about how to extract contents from an FS file !

then upload the files using XS++ to \TPA\PRESET\SYSTEM\LANGUAGE\** here **

the files u need to upload is EN.LNG and EN.T9 for english
if ur your language code is XY then get that XY.LNG and XY.T9 file and upload it..

then edit that customize.xml in notepad to enable your language ( which is very easy once u look into it.. as its not a big file.. contains max of 20 lines )

This Method to add new language works very well !! Verifed by jommarn on this forum !

SAFETY TIPS !!

Don't flash corrupt main into your phone ! XS++ flashing process may be get stuck in between !
if XS++ gets stuck in between then your phone is dead for good !

You can use XS++ any number of times... ok now that does not mean you use it 100 times a day in 365 days a year on the same phone.. !

Removing the SIM Card is not at all necessary while using XS++ !!
But that u reinsert battery after every succesive flash is very important ! if your remove your sim card ensures that you have reinserted battery !!
incase u forgot to reinsert battery ! your phone won't start ! reinsert battery and start ! it should start this time !

And You can Flash Main FS and Custpack all in one Go ( direct from k550i to w610i in one go ) ! which would be better and is recommended !
but if u want to start your phone after every operation then u should not flash all three in one go..
How to Revert back to k550i !

There are 2 ways !

1) Use XS++ 2.2 and flash both k550i Main and k550i FS
2) Use SEUS to flash k550i Main and XS++ 2.2 to flash k550i FS

But i recommend u to flash back k550i Main using XS++ 2.2 becasue in case CID53 update is released for k550i then in future u can't use XS++ anymore ! becasue XS++ does not support CID53

And u will have to wait for months for XS++ to support CID 53 flashing !!

Using FAR Manager/SEFP find the FS/tpa/system/layout/layout.xml file.
Highlight the file and hit Edit (F4).
Just remove the following out of the object "StatusIndication":

Save (F2) and Quit (F10) editor.
Exit FAR Manager (remember to move to the top of the filesystem and answer YES to close the CSFSloader).
Disconnect and restart phone again.

Sony Ericsson W910i wins 2008 Best Handset award

Sony Ericsson’s feature packed W910i smartphone has beaten all others in winning the ‘Best Handset’ award at the GSM Association’s 13th Global Mobile Awards for 2008 !While Sony itself still makes Walkman music and video devices, the true successor to the Walkman is clearly the Walkman phone, or mp3/media player and phone combination, something that has also been popularised thanks to the iPhone and Nokia’s N95.
Feature-wise, as seen at Sony Ericsson’s website, the W910i has it all, from accelerometer, to 3G and video calling, to mp3 and media playback, expandable memory, Bluetooth, blogging, Track ID feature, gaming, shake control, camera, media manager, video recording, voice recording and plenty more.Although better phones are on the way, with some previewed by Sony Ericsson and Nokia at the 3GSM World Congress, the awards clearly are designed for phones on the market during the awards period, and when the judges examined all the entrants, the W910i was their choice.
Sony Ericsson’s president said that: “We are very proud to receive such a prestigious award for what has proved to be a very popular product”.
Other phones in the race for consideration for the ‘Best Handset’ award were the 3SkypePhone, the LG Viewty, the Nokia 6500 Classic and the Samsung SGH-G600.
The N95 and the iPhone weren’t part of the list, which is curious, as they would have given all the other phones listed a run for their money, although whether they would have won the ‘best handset’ award is clearly up for debate.
So, what’s our view on this new award for the W910i, and what was likely one of the considerations for the judges especially considering the other phones that it was compared against? Without knowing precisely what the judges were considering, this must have been one of the judges’ factors in choosing the ultimate winner.
Sony Ericsson note that, since the launch of the W800 Walkman phone in August 2005, more than 57 million Walkman phones have been sold worldwide.
They also note that the Walkman range is yet to see further expansion, with Sony Ericsson’s W980i due later this year, although it only comes with 8GB of internal memory compared with the upcoming Nokia N96’s 16GB of internal memory, while the iPhone is already sold in a 16GB configuration.
While the W910i is certainly a feature packed phone, and is worthy of recognition, the simple fact is that it’s already out of date for mobile phone aficionados who simply must have the latest technology.
There’s also no doubt that N95 and iPhone fans would dispute that the W910i was the best handset on the market.
But we were not one of the judges, and happily acknowledge that the N95 and the iPhone would be even better phones if they had all of the features the W910i offers as standard.
So, congratulations, Sony Ericsson, on winning this award. We look forward to even more vigorous competition in the future, as mobile phones converge even further to become ultra advanced and yet ultra easy to use computing and communications devices.

The main question Sony Ericsson asked when designing PSP phone was - what is the main problem with using your phone for mobile games?
And the answer was - gaming controls.The numeric keypad is just not good enough to control the action in games. But who says all the keys on the numeric keypad have to be identical?
Sony has already designed very good game controls on PSP. So now they just made a few keys on numeric keypad into a game controls and the problem was solved.
The other problem was that most of the good games are played holding PSP console with both hands and using two thumbs to control game characters. And the phone is operated usually with a single hand and thumb.
Rotating screen came to the rescue here. When the device is in a phone mode, all you have is a simple mobile phone with numeric keypad , menu and function keys. Turn the screen around 180 degrees, your menu/functional keys are transformed into game controls and you have a perfectly good portable gaming device.
Oh and why not use the screen turned 90 degrees to make this device into a mobile TV station as well?
The beauty of it all is that Sony will not have to worry about the games for the PSP phone. Just make it compatible with the standard PSP games and Nokia will have a really tough time catching up with it’s next gen N-Gage platform.

Now obviously, before proceeding here you're going to want to find the largest grain of salt you can locate and keep it nearby. According to SEfanatics, a page in an issue of Sony Magazine (an office favorite over here) makes passing mention of a "PSP-Style phone" which is supposedly in development, then casually suggests the device could be "in shops as early as February." Of course, we've been hearing hushed conversations about this topic for some time now, though it does strike us as slightly odd that it's referenced in what is essentially a multi-page Sony advertisement. Sure, it's possible that something like that patent we recently saw could be headed our way -- obviously the company is still capable of throwing a few curve-balls in our direction, though we're going to need to little more evidence than this to start cracking open our piggy banks.

Most Sony Ericssons tend to be on the pricey side, but every now and then the company gives us a more affordable model for the masses.

Last year it rolled out the W200a, and at CES 2008, the company announced the W350a. At 0.41 inch wide, it sports a design we haven't seen for a while. The keypad is covered by a flap that folds down when you're on a call. The flap not only protects the keypad when it's not in use but it also allows you to get the feel of a flip phone. So in essence, it's a candy-bar handset with flip-phone elements.

But the W350a's design offers another quirk as well. When closed you can access convenient Walkman controls to play your music and shuffle tracks. You also get a choice of four colors: electric black, ice blue, hypnotic black, and graphic white. Beyond the music player, the feature set is pretty average. There's a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, messaging and e-mail, an FM radio, a 262,144-color display, a speakerphone, and personal organizer applications. The triband (GSM 850/1800/1900) W350a should be available in the fourth quarter of this year.

Found a out a nice site for downloading sony ericsson Firmwares,patches,eroms etc...etc...almost anything for any SE phone. Also tutorial downloads,wallpapers,themes.etc for free download..

All you need to do is to register.Registration is free.You just have to enter your username,password and email address.

The only drawback is that the site is in a non-english language.But that is not much of a problem because you will easily be able to register and download stuff with some common sense.

Also ,just like any other sharing program..you will have to wait for a particular time after each download,for your second download...and that is tedious sometimes...

Working with Basic Tools

2 basic tools are enough to do a number of modding in K750/W800i.
• XS++
• FAR Manager
So, now lets learn how to work wih these tools!

Working with XS++
XS++, is a customization tool. This tool can be used to Flash ur fone, with the files, which can help you access programs lke FAR and others. Another main usage of this tool is that, this is used to Flash your fimware. Basically, to work with this tool, all you need is,
• A DCU-60 cable, connected to ur PC
• The files that you are about to Flash
How to make ur phone accesible by XS++:
1. First, Switch off the fone.
2. Hold the ‘C’ button of ur fone and connect the USB cable to ur fone.
3. A “New Device Found” message ll be displayed. This device is the USB FLASH DEVICE.
4. Now, select “Yes, this time only” from the list of options.
5. In the next screen, select “ Install from a list or specific location”
6. In the next screen, “include this location in the search”
7. Now,” browse” the folder SONY ERICSSON, u ve downloaded from the net and go to USB Flash
Drivers folder and select the USB file from there.
8. Now, your fone can be flashed with XS++.
9. Close all the applications.

How to make your phone accessible by FAR:
1. Now, open XS++.
2. Hit start.
3. Press and hold the ‘C’ button and connect the data cable to your phone.
4. On the left side,you will be able to see all the info’s like CID, FIRMWARE, CDA etc.
5. Now, tick “Flash Main Firmware” present in the right hand side of the screen.
6. Now click the ‘…’ button (browse) and go to the folder, that you have downloaded(i.e the files which you want to transfer to the phone).
7. In the folder, go to Far -> Plugins -> k750w800_r2e_dcu.49r.ssw.
8. Now hit FLASH.
9. Your phone will be flashed and XS++ wil display FLASHING SUCCESSFUL or either hang.
10. You pone is now ready to be accessed with FAR.

Working with FAR:
1. Now that you have carried out the things as mentioned above, let’s see how to work with FAR
2. Open FAR from the downloaded folder and hit F11 on the keyboard.
3. This will bring up a popup window called, Plugin Commands.
4. Now, hit S in ur keyboard to select the SEFP plugin.
5. Here, you have 3 columns. Set Ur
• Device - DCU-60
• Speed - 921600
• Boot Script- K750_W800_CID 49. (If ur phone’s CID is 36, select K750_W800_CID 36).
6. Hit, “ENTER THE MATRIX”
7. Now, connect your phone, holding ‘C’ button, as you did before.
8. Now, you will see the window divided into two halves. The left side is your phone’s and at the right side is your hard disks.
9. On the left side, you will see two options, to get into your phone. FLASH, FS.
10. Flash, deals with patching, unpatching and reloading the the firmware after customizing FS.
11. FS deals with ur File System. Knowing the roots, you can mod the drivers and stuff.
12. After all, its very important to shutdown the loader. For this keep on clickin the ‘…’ in the top left hand side window of FAR. This will take you back to the prev screens and finally confirmation to shutdown will be asked. Click Yes.
13. And finally, after everything is done, shutdown the loader. Open FAR again and connect the fone to it. Now, select FLASH from the menu. On the right side, go to FAR -> PLUGINS-> REST -> [Your firmware. Mine is K750i/ R1Ca021. so, I'll select rest_K750_R1CA021]
And that’s all about Modding your phone with FAR!!

What to do next is:
Go to phone memory/pictures.
Create a folder name gfx.
copy all the sysgfx inside this gfx folder.
Restart your phone.

Obviously we need an antenna for reciever.
so we are going to use any small metal part to act as antenna like aluminium chocolate foil, bike key, jump clip, a wire bit at the second pin from left of our data interface
(The place were we connect our charger/headset, there will be totally 12 pins and the 3nd corresponds to the FM antenna)
Place it such that it is not disturbed and then your phone will play FM without headset!!

Change images and sounds at startup and shutdown of your SE phone.!

Start up/shutdown image/sound change
The images must be in 176 X220 resolution,the file name must be like this
Boot image: SPLASH
Startup Image: STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC
Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC
Startup Sound: STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC
Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC

And you must know to use FAR and XS to do this changes.
Startup and shutdown images and sounds are located in various locations. To change, simply delete the existing file, and copy in your file with the same name.

Here are the various names, file sizes, formats and locations:
Boot image: SPLASH in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image displayed at boot up, called the Splash Screen.
Can be in gif, bmp or png format.
Animation not supported.

Startup Image: STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image shown after the Splash screen.
This image can be chosen by the user in settings/display/start-up screen so you don't need internal file system access to change this image.

Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image that is shown when the phone is shutting down.
Can be in gif, bmp or png format.
Animation is supported, but total number of frames should be kept low, and gif should not be set to repeat animation, as this will slow down the shutdown.

Startup Sound: STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mid or STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone starts up.

Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mid or SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone is shutting down.
