Salman refuses Ghai's movie?

2012-08-26T01:15:00.000-07:00

Ever since Yuvvraaj tanked at the box-office a couple of years ago, Subhash Ghai has been planning to make another film with Salman Khan.

At the actor's Eid party at his Bandra home on Monday, the filmmaker, who was also invited, is believed to have broached the topic of teaming up together again. According to our source, "Subhashji told Salman that he had an interesting love story to make a film with him, and even narrated the concept. Also, in keeping with his action image, they'd have a couple of thrilling sequences too." However, it is learnt that Salman declined saying he wasn't too enthused by the idea. Our informer further reveals that Salman told Ghai that currently, he has a couple of other commitments. So depending on the director coming up with a subject he finds interesting by the time he fulfills his commitments, he couldn't say about later at this point.

Subhash Ghai's all set to direct Salman again

2012-08-26T01:09:00.002-07:00

Subhash Ghai and Salman Khan

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has decided to wield the megaphone again and team up with Salman Khan for an action packed masala entertainer.

Ghai had stopped directing films to concentrate on his film school Whistling Woods International. But now he will soon be getting behind the camera. He has two films at hand- one with Salman Khan that will roll out next year. "I am returning to direction. I have two films.. one with Salman that I will start next year and other I will start shooting this year," Ghai told PTI.

Earlier, the duo came together for Yuvvraj in 2008 but it was a box office failure.

Ghai admits that he made a mistake by making a romantic-musical film with Khan. "After Wanted he has emerged as the new action hero. Audience likes to see him in this zone. It would be foolish on my part to make romantic kind of films with him. We made a mistake by casting him in Yuvvraj," Ghai said.

"I have signed Salman for my film. Considering Salman's superstar status and the love that he has got for doing action films, I would be making an action-masala kind of movie. He is Superman Salman. We are working on the script," he added.

The superstar, who is basking in the success of Kabir Khan's spy flick Ek Tha Tiger, has his hands full with several projects like Dabangg 2, Sher Khan and Kick. "He has other commitments. So once he is done with all of them. We will start working next year," Ghai said.

Ek Tha Tiger First Day Opening Day Total Net Collection

2012-08-25T20:09:00.000-07:00

History Created ! Ek Tha Tiger performed above expectations. It broke all the opening records in every circuit, every city, every town. Almost in every cinema, the occupancy was 100% which is a record itself.

Ek Tha Tiger have collected around 32-33 crore on its first day. But according to Taran Adarsh, the opening collections are around 35 crore. There is always some difference between Taran Adarsh and Official Box Office Websites. Its up to you who you want to follow. I personally follow the Box Office Websites.

This is still not the final figure because the release of Ek Tha Tiger is very wide around 3300 screens in India so it will take some time to count the actual amount but this is confirmed that collections are 30+. HUGE RECORD ! Ek Tha Tiger have also performed very well in Overseas.

Records broken by Ek Tha Tiger

With 30 crore+ opening day, Ek Tha Tiger broke two records on its very first day of release. Ek Tha Tiger broke Agneepath's opening day record of 23 crore. Second record which Ek Tha Tiger broke is the Ra.One's highest single day collections record. Ra.One earned around 25 crore including Dubbed version on its second day of release. Ek Tha Tiger have beaten both the records by a big margin.

UPDATE: It's final, Ek Tha Tiger first day collections are 32.92 crore. Komal Nahtha and Taran Adarsh Tweeted.

During The Tiger Shooting !

Why Shahrukh Khan is Popular in Overseas ? Due to PROMOTIONS !

2012-01-10T07:30:00.000-08:00

Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Are Being Release in Overseas with Proper Promotion and Marketing Since His Initial Years. Whereas Aamir And Salman Khan Did not Focus in the Western Countries like USA, UK, etc. All These Actors Have Same Popularity in Middle East, but its the Western Countries Where SRK has an edge.

SRK’s Films, especially the ones with Yash Raj Films (YRF) were Greatly Promoted with right stretegies in Overseas.

Conclusion : Salman Khan is very Popular in India and Middle East Countries whereas SRK is popular in Western Countries BUT Salman Khan is popular without any BIG PROMOTIONS !

Note: This is not my personal statement. Someone asked question on Box office Report Website and this is the answer which they gave.

Sonakshi Sinha Talks About The Dabangg Khan Salman Khan

2012-01-10T07:21:00.000-08:00

" Ever since I debuted, things have been going great for me. I have been acting with a variety of senior actors who have taught me much. I feel blessed to be surrounded by such talented people from whom I can learn so much, especially since I never planned to become an actor and I came here knowing nothing. I picked up the ropes from Salman Khan. He really groomed me well. I couldn't have asked for a better co-star to begin my career with. He was very patient. He taught me how to not take things too seriously and be myself. Now that I am working with Akshay Kumar on two of my projects, I have realised that he too is an absolute professional. He is always on time and makes sure that his schedule completes on time. And even though he's so strict about deadlines, he makes sure that he enjoys his time on the sets. After working with Ajay (Devgan) I've seen how much an actor can contribute to the whole process of filmmaking. He is so involved in aspects of the film that I'm not even aware of. But he helps me understand those aspects. "

Sonakshi Sinha Ranveer Singh VS The Tiger Salman Khan on Eid 2012 !

2012-01-10T07:18:00.000-08:00

Actress Sonakshi Sinha seems to have become superstitious.

The actress, who made her acting debut with Dabbangg, now wants history to repeat itself, and has requested the producers of Lootera to schedule the film's release for Eid.

Salman-Sonakshi-starrer Dabangg released on Eid, and Sonakshi is hoping that the magic works for her again. However, Salman Khan, popularly known to have a release on the auspicious day of Eid, this year to will have Ek Tha Tiger releasing!

Now, the producers of Lootera find this to be tough competition and have informed Sonakshi that they'll try and release the movie on Bakri Id and not along with Salman Khan's film.

Well, you can't push the 'Tiger'. You simply move away from him, right ?

Why Salman Khan missed Farhan Akhtar's birthday party !

2012-01-10T07:15:00.000-08:00

Farhan Akhtar's birthday party was a housefull affair literally, as everyone dropped by at his residence to wish him.

While Shah Rukh Khan came with wife Gauri, Priyanka Chopra came solo and after greeting each other cordially, both chose to keep a distance. Wonder what happened to the pretty Katrina Kaif, who came sans make-up and looked dull in a pale yellow outfit. Shabana Azmi, who's very close to both Farhan and Zoya, was spotted with hubby Javed Akhtar. Hrithik Roshan came straight from the sets of his next film where he's playing a superhero. Maybe that's why he's growing his hair. Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap, Queenie and Farhad Taraporewala, Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani among others were present at the do.

While Farhan was spotted at Salman Khan's birthday recently, Salman was missing at Farhan's do. Is it because Farhan's supposed to be closer to another Khan ?

2012-01-10T07:12:00.000-08:00

The tinsel town is abuzz with rumours of Sonu Sood being back in the cast of Dabang 2. According to reports, it was Salman Khan who insisted that Sonu should be part of the film, as the climax fight between the two hunks was one of the biggest attractions in the first part.

Salman Khan to Play a Police commissioner in Dabangg 3 !

2012-01-09T09:02:00.000-08:00

Salman Khan in DABANGG 3 !

Salman Khan still dint start shoot for Dabangg 2 but he promised to his fans that he will play Police commissioner in Dabangg 3.

For Dabangg fans Arbaaz has said Dabangg 2 will be more bigger and better, but Salman Khan go ahead of Arbaaz thinking and commited Dabangg 3 will be more big fun not just from the sequel but the franchise per se.

During Mumbai Police Umang Show Salman Khan who played Cop role Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg was been a huge hit amoung Mumbai cops when asked about Dabangg sequel Salman said "In Dabangg,Chulbul was a cop from a small town. In Dabangg 2 he will be promoted to a city and will be playing a senior cop from Lucknow". Also from his corrupt ways in the prequel, he would turn more honest in the sequel.

But Salman Khan didn't stop there. He promised his fans, "In Dabangg 3, Chulbul Pandey will be posted in Mumbai. Also with each part, his seniority will rise so the third part will see him as the Commissioner of Mumbai Police". Of course the third part is nowhere in picture as of now but it was the most witty and apt tribute that Salman could give to the Mumbai police at the event.

Interestingly Salman Khan said this in presence of the real Commissioner of Mumbai Police. And before the Commissioner could object, Salman in his trademark style said. "Ek baar jo maine commitment de di, toh main khud ki bhi nahi sunta".

It is Official - Bodyguard is The Biggest Blockbuster of year 2011

2012-01-09T08:54:00.000-08:00

Salman Khan's Bodyguard is the Biggest Movie of year 2011 in Bollywood !

The year gone by saw a total of 229 new films releasing, quite less as compared to the number of releases (250) in 2010. Of the 229 films, 72 were dubbed in Hindi from English or other Indian languages. There were 8 English films too, some of which were dubbed in Hindi too; and two were made in Hindi-English. In other words, there were 147 straight Hindi films. Of the 229 new releases, 220 were live action films, seven were animation films and two were live action-animation films.

Bodyguard was undoubtedly the highest grosser and also the biggest hit of 2011

2011: Hits & Flops

Bodyguard was undoubtedly the highest grosser and also the biggest hit of 2011. Ready, Singham, Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture were the other big ones. Then there were Yamla Pagla Deewana and Ragini MMS also. If there were big-budget extravaganzas like Bodyguard and Ready which made the public go wild with excitement, there were also small and medium-budget fares like Ragini MMS, Murder 2, Tanu Weds Manu and The Dirty Picture, which brought smiles to the faces of the paying public as well as the industry people. Thankfully, the year did not have too many big bombs although there were a few like 7 Khoon Maaf, Patiala House, Aarakshan, Rascals, Thank You and Game.

Only 17% of the films released in 2011 did not lose any money

2011: Net Result

Although the year is being touted as having been great for the trade, in reality, only 17% of the films released did not lose any money. In other words, the percentage of films in the red continued to be high – 83%. The industry’s final report card did not show a net profit. But it did not show any losses either. Although a large number (around 115) of Bollywood films – not taking into account dubbed Hindi versions – lost money as against those (30) which either made profit or broke even, the industry’s total gains offset the total losses. Hence, the overall net result was: no profit, no loss. If in spite of such a high failure rate (83% if all films, including dubbed, are considered), the industry’s report card still did not show a net loss, it was because of two reasons: some of the plus films made huge profits; and there weren’t too many big disasters. Following is the detailed list of films which made money for their producers/distributors.

Super-Hit (AA): Bodyguard

Hit (A1): Ready, Singham, Murder 2, The Dirty Picture.

Semi-Hit (A): Yamla Pagla Deewana, Ragini MMS.

Overflow (BB): Tanu Weds Manu, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.

Commission-Earner to Overflow (B1 to BB): Mission: Impossible – Gupt Vidhaan (dubbed), Harry Potter Aur Maut Ke Tohfe Part 2 (dubbed), Delhi Belly (Hinglish & dubbed), Samunder Ke Lootere: Ek Anjaan Rahasya (dubbed), Tintin – Karname Kamaal Ke (dubbed; animation), Don 2, Ra.One (losing in some circuits), Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, Double Dhamaal.

Commission-Earner (B1): Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dhobi Ghat (Hindi-English & dubbed), Haunted, No One Killed Jessica, Fast & Furious 5 (dubbed), X-Men: First Class (dubbed), Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Rise Of The Apes – Vinaash Ka Aarambh (dubbed).

Coverage to Commission-Earner (B to B1): Desi Boyz, Chalo Dilli, Bheja Fry 2, Yeh Saali Zindagi, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Stanley Ka Dabba, Damadamm!, Transformers: Chand Ka Andhera (dubbed).

Average (B): F.A.L.T.U., Force, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.

Interview of The winner of Big Boss Season 5 Juhi Parmar to Times of India

2012-01-09T07:58:00.000-08:00

The winner of Big Boss-5, Juhi Parmar, is ready to start life afresh after walking away with big booty of Rs one crore. In a chat with us, she speaks about pangas, bachchas and more...

After Shweta Tiwari, you are the second woman to make History in Bigg Boss...

Yes, it feels great that my fans voted for me and made me the winner. I can't thank them enough !

But, internet is flooded with 'hate Juhi' comments, where people have tagged you as being biased towards Sky (Akashdeep Sahgal) and his 'angry outbursts'...

I know I came across as biased. But then, after being with Sky 24x7, I came to the conclusion that he has no control over his anger, but at least he is honest! There were quite a few people in the show who were completely fake, but they projected themselves as virtual saints! There were ladies who were shouting louder than Sky, and not really being very dignified. So, I decided to stay back when such slanging matches took place. But later, I always told Sky that he was in the wrong. The fact is that he was very respectful and caring towards me and treated me as his sister. Then why would I break my relations with him without any rhyme or reason?

Pooja Bedi has gone on record to say that Salman was biased towards certain people. Did you feel like this anytime?

I don't know what was being shown outside. But Sunny Leone, who came much later in the show, said after entering the celebrity house that Mahek Chahal was her fave character because she did not fight with anyone. Within a week Sunny saw Mahek's behaviour and changed her opinion and said 'Mahek was my fave character, but I don't like her as a person !' At that time many of us did wonder as to why she was projected like that on telly. Inside the house, Mahek was very difficult to get along with and she poked her nose in every affair and fight! So, we did wonder if we were imagining things!

How do you plan to spend the prize money?

I plan to keep most of it aside for the kids that we will have in future. But for next 12 months, I just plan to focus on work.

And lovey-dovey plans with your actor husband Sachin Shroff?

Yes, I am ready for my second honeymoon! Sachin told me that he has just started a new show on Sahara, so it will be difficult for him to take out time, but I have clearly told him that we have to go for the second honeymoon right away. After all, I have met him after almost 100 days and lost 5 kilos inside the celebrity house. But before the honeymoon, I need to go in for a Spa and body massage! I need it badly because I am completely tired !
