In case you missed the Neapolitan Party video…

First off, is the video of our Neapolitan party! Lindsey and Ann Marie, my friends and designers at American Crafts, helped make the decorations and we spent the day scrapbooking while Collin filmed all the fun. The video is a fun display of the products and a splendid idea for a scrapbook party with friends. Collin did an amazing job on the video! Thanks babe!

Here are some of the new Dear Lizzy products and even the packaging is pretty…! Check out the every last paper and button over at the American Crafts blog.
This line was very much inspired by ombre and watercolors. I love the addition of mason jars. Isn’t that stamp set so fun? I can’t wait to use that on a card. Once upon a time I made cards and that stamp is just what I need to get back into it. The layered ephemra flowers are inspired by my Thanksgiving place cards. I love the mix of the printed numbered ribbon, sequins and fringe ribbon. The wood buttons are one of my favorites… some are painted and some have epoxy shapes inside. Cute!

These are the Flutterbys. They come in this shape and butterflies. They are printed on both sides so when they are hung if the other side shows-even better. They are sewn together and have that handmade touch. 

Two words: Ruffle paper!! You caught a glimpse of the ruffle paper on the blog hop… I’m kind of obsessed with this product! Even more so when I sat down and scrapped with it. I couldn’t help but add a little ruffle here and there on my projects. Definitely my favorite piece from the Neapolitan collection. It also comes in pink/orange!!

I am not a morning person, and since our kids wake up at the butt-crack of dawn, most often I am missing my pillow. There are mornings when I want to hide under the covers and drift back to dreamland not ready to face the world. But not today. Instead of slushing around in my slippers drinking a cup of sulk. I strapped my camera around my neck and embraced it. Capturing the chaos, the coziness & fresh feeling. The rush to get Avery to school then the calmness of our mornings.
These will be fun in my Project Life when I start on mine after CHA… but for now I’m going to hold tight to the certain marvelous found only in the morning.

We still have balloons floating around from the Neapolitan Video shoot.  

Seriously? I can’t believe this baby is that trained that she even smiles at self-timer shots. haha! jk… she’s such a cheerful girl. A cheerful girl who climbs up everything… the ladder to the bunk beds, chairs & here to the kitchen table to eat the last few bites of her sister’s oatmeal.

Toes and shoes on the wrong feet.

If you are ever looking for something to lift your spirits… spend the morning with 30 five year olds and make Valentines.
It’s even more funny when they proudly try to pronounce your last name the whole time.
It will make you smile when they happily show you their hand-cut heart which really looks like a banana or a guitar.
How about when one of them gives you a valentine? (sigh) How sweet… but too cute to accept so I politely persuaded him into giving it to his momma.
Or when Avery was SO proud after the boy next to her said: “Your mom has a lot of yarn.” Avery: ”Yes, she does!!”
Yep, aside from all the nose picking, it was just what I needed!

Today I am elated to share with you my new Dear Lizzy line! It seems like I started this forever ago because in the secret keeping timeframe its felt like forever…! Neapolitan started with inspiration from watercolors, I knew we had to have watercolor! Then after we chose our colors and designed with the watercolor everything had a bit of a summer haze feel to it. Which I love! Tie in some jars, ice cream cones, pinwheels, balloons, word banners, fringe ribbon, vellum & ruffle paper and it was a dreamland. Did I say ruffle paper??! Why yes I did.

① We played at the park over the weekend… I cannot believe this weather! Don’t tell my snowboarding friends but I kind of love this sunshine.
② I heard someone sneak out of their room after bedtime… and I found this cutie. She didn’t make it very far. At what age do kids realize how amazing sleep is?

Quite thrilled to be teaching in France again! Last year I was in Paris and had a magical time. How could I not?–It was PARIS?!! I taught 4 different workshops and met so many wonderful ladies. This year the event will take place in Lyon, France on March 1st-3rd. Come and join me! I will be teaching 3 different workshops, a layout class and 2 mini album classes.

 Version-Scrap does an incredible job putting their events together! They find great locations and include lots of vendors so you can go shopping like mad in between your classes. Since I don’t speak French I had an interpreter, Andrea, who was so lovely and beyond helpful & they also include my detailed instructions printed out in French.

I met some of the sweetest people in Paris! Seriously a few of them had me in tears and I couldn’t even understand what they were saying. Kisses to my friends!! xoxox Hope to see you there! More info here: Version-Scrap

Lately I’m soaking up every second with the kiddos because I am leaving for almost a week later this month and again in March. Even though the kids will be in amazing care I always struggle with being away. You’d think I’d jump into a heel-click and then shout, “freeeeeeeedom” as I enter the airport but I’m usually wiping or holding back tears. They have the time of their lives when I’m gone with lots of fun adventures and I return home refreshed and missing them so it’s happy in the end. Or at least that is what I am trying to convince myself… 

Closer: Each year I feel like I grow a tiny bit closer to becoming the wife, momma, sister, friend that I want to be…
I made this layout challenging myself not to use the typical elements I gravitate towards: butterflies, circles, hearts. Instead I used: triangles, stars & zigzag stitching and stamps. I did sneak a couple circles in there. Speaking of sneaking I added something small from my new line! Can you guess what it is? I’ll show you sneaks and small reveal next Monday.

Last night I had this layout on my desk and Collin looked at it… “Honey, that’s sad. Why would you say that?”
I was so confused then I looked over and the “C” for the title detached leaving the new title LOSER. haha I was dying laughing.

The star background is the negative stars from the Studio Calico sticker sheet. The tiny stars are handcut and I added some pearls and rhinestones.
The zigzag stamp is from this set: Hello, There (peachy keen line) I love it. Stamped it on the envelopes for my Christmas cards too.
One of my favorite parts of this layout is the date stamp in the top right corner.
