So you've decided your mudroom, entry, or coat closets really need help. Where do you start?

Step 1 - Define your storage needs. What you really need to be stored at this location (most)? What is handy to have when you walk in the door (hand)? What are the elements that you use only occasionally or seasonally that can be stored elsewhere (in season)?

Step 2 - Assess your storage area.
Ridding the region of all the tricks, then look at the empty space. What areas do you have for storage? Can you add furniture in the room? Is there wall for more storage space? The space can be improved, redesigned or reconfigured in some way to meet your storage needs? Use the checklist below format to take notes.

Step 3 - Measure and plan. Is there room for a second machine private? A chest of drawers in the corner? Where can you suspend a mirror? How much room is there for hooks? Is there added to the space built in cabinets? Is there room behind the door for a period? Will be suspended organizers assist in the closet or simply take instead? Wall space: Install two levels of hooks for children and adults. Purchase of 1x4 lumber, 11 hooks, long and 8 screws. (Use the wall paint for the board.) Hang a mirror behind the door. Getting a bench for space under the hooks.
In Front Coat Closet: good waterproof Move forward mantle private. Use the mantle tree only for guests. Find a fabric suspended organizer to hold gloves and hats.
