Seven Friday Cafe (Jakarta)

prior to dinner, we made it to the Seven Friday cafe for bites coz i remember this place had one of the better food i've had in Indo. Importantly also, they love Seven Friday watches!

They had fun and we had a nice sharing meal!

The mushroom soup was thick...

the chicken caesar salad was good too and it has kale!

and i must add, the food was cheap! like seriously cheap. drinks were like about S$1.50 - S$2 equivalent. This angel hair beef pasta was only S$7 plus....

importantly, it was not kao kei nice, it was very nice! The beef was juicy and had that beefy taste. the pasta was al dante! so worth it! so much so that bunny wants to come back for brunch tml before we fly off!

Straits Clan

Company lunch at Straits Clan! First visit!

Starters was some greens as in really GREEN GREENS with some taro chips! the taro chips were popular! The greens went well with the mentaiko mayo sauce that came along together!

Bone marrow!

the bone marrow was an acquired taste for many and i think i would have preferred it more charred.

the tomatoes were sweet and burrata i wish there were more! a refreshing dish!

Pork katsu sandwich. My absolute favourite dish of the day!

the katsu was PINK.. n omg so tender! Pity it was only half a piece each! I will go back for this!

the sting ray was a little fishy for my liking but the rest seated on the other side of our long table said their portion was great!

dessert was a kaya puff... which was a little too sweet for my liking

and pavlova! watching so much Zumba programmes on Netflix makes it very timely to have pavlova!

the pavlova was great and love the berries they have with it. not overly sweet for me.

the classiest staff meal i'd say! haha

Over Easy

It was an impromptu decision to head over to Over Easy for dinner and to do a little bit of Christmas shopping together.

It has been years since i visited Over Easy and i can't really recall if i should expect anything but it was proved to be really good! From the service to the food, thumbs up! which to some extent it was quite unexpected.

Bunny ordered a chocolate milk shake which was not overly sweet. So it went down really smoothly...

we shared the lobster tater tots starters...

it was great! You actually can taste chunks of lobster meat hence with that kind of texture, the price was worth it!

we also shared a steak and eggs...

there was an option to change the fries to truffle fries. the fries were SO SKINNY but they were still pretty good!

the steak was a surprise! I'm serious! usually for such cafes, i won't have high expectations of their steak. i mean i guess my expectations of steaks will be higher for steak houses and i kinda have this perception any steak in cafes like these will be more for fulfilment but i was so wrong. The steak was so tender and juicy. Also, the portion was good for us both to share! for that to be so, the portion must be good coz we are big eaters!

we also shared a mac and cheese recommended by bunny's sister..

we didnt really like that thou.

Tapas Club

After Pim Pam the last time round, fishy strongly recommend The Tapas Club at Orchard Central. For the same range of cuisine but at a much friendlier budget!

crunchy prawns of a decent serving and the sauce was great!

Spanish omelette!

also really good! but one of my favourite that i've tried so far is from Serendipity which has unfortunately closed down.

which was great too with the minced chicken and the pasta is awesome! its thin and bouncy!

squid with mashed..

the squid with mash was decent. i think next time round we'd try the octopus.

we also had the iberico pork which was really good! But i forgot the pic!

Overall a nice place with pretty good service!

so i told bunny last week, its been awhile since we went dating. So she said, Monday's good. And upon the sudden realisation that tomorrow is PH, today's GREAT!

Bunny and i have a group chat that consists of a list of places we want to dine at. On that note, we have a number of group chats! that is amidst those regular ones we have with different groups of friends....hahaha.. one for masseurs that i approve.. one for finances.. blah blah..

So anyway, its been a LONGGGGGG while since we added any new restaurants or checked off any places off the list! I'm glad this place is still around!

Lolla off Ann Siang Hill...

Ken joined us today as well and we're happy to have her come along.

for starters, we had an item from the specials menu - Burrata...

and boy was it amazing! the Burrata was flavourful and while it wasn't cheap, it was SO GOOD! served with figs and oh man the burrata was just well textured and tasted damn good. So good that we wanted to order a second portion!

and of course, i HAD TO order the signature sea urchin pudding! I mean, this is why we're here!

the sea urchin pudding is amazing! i LOVE IT! its fresh and sweet sea urchin on top and the pudding below is SQUID INK!! yes, you heard right, its SQUID INK! and sorry, this one cannot resist, X2 PORTIONS! YUM YUM YUM!

ok this avocado piece, i can't decide if i like it or not. the cheese is very strong in the goat cheese kinda flavour. it didnt kill it for me but i just can't decide if i like it but i like rich.

Violet Oon Kitchen

in my line of work, i will say i meet a lot of Chefs and one of the nicest nicest one whom i've met must be Chef Stefano. Unfortunately, he will be leaving Singapore soon. Johnson and i met him up for lunch and where better than Violet Oon for a taste of Singapore!

which was pretty good! a nonya food favourites.

next, another Peranakan favourite, ayam buah keluak!

their buah keluak is very nicely done with the paste easily removable from the nut.

done SO WELL! beef was really tender and rendang wasn't overly sweet, we loved it!

this cod fish was really good. crispy cod fish in the laksa sauce. we all loved it.

and of course, fish head curry which was so fragrant on other's table that we HAD TO order it!

Unicorn Cafe (Bangkok)

We managed to find a pocket of time to fulfill my wish of heading to the unicorn cafe!

I love Grab in BKK! It’s so convenient and I love that they have these cafe recommendations on the app itself! Makes it so easy peasy for tourists!

And if u can see, yes I’m wearing a unicorn dress! Upcoming on Juneoesque soon!

Inside, everything was all Things rainbow! Even the cakes and pastry!

Keeping in mind that we have lunch appointments later but we were so hungry, we shared a burger!

Because the birthday boy likes chap chai peng, birthday dinner i tried to explore places that feels like it. Peranakan somehow came to mind and upon checking on Chope, i found Royale!

Located at Mercure Bugis....

They have a selection of cold seafood which honestly what really drew me over was the fact that they had scampi on their online menu!

The prawns were pretty good and fresh!

The scampi however was a little too hard n small for my liking...

U can also make your own Rojak!

And some savory items...

There’s also a live bbq station area where you can order grilled sting ray, sotong and otah...

Overall quite value for money! Not the super atas buffet kind but good enuff!

Atlas

It was a long thought of activity - HIGH TEA! The venue was meant to be at Fullerton but we came across Atlas on social media and decided this place looks very instagram worthy too!

After booking the place, we also read some reviews of this place. Quite a few horror stories about the service but we decided to still try our luck! I will say overall the service we received was quite alright.

Here, at Singapore's Gotham City! Parkview Square!

The place is amazing! Wonderful ambience with a touch of class!

we went for the high tea going at about $50ish...

first to start is a mushroom soup like amuse bouche...

along with it is a tier of high tea canapés...

to end off, there was also some home made ice cream cubes...

Pura Brasa

Timothy and Jefrince asked me out and selected Pura Brasa! In fact, I recall this as one of the places they shortlisted for last year as well!

We finally made it this year! And I guess it’s good coz it’s probably much more crowded last year!!

The first dish that arrived was the ribs. It was a huge slab and importantly, it’s sooooooooo good! It was meaty and importantly, it was savoury!!! It’s not Sweet like most other ribs. It’s savoury seasoned with salt and pepper!

The paella was seafood paella...

Which was nice but not extraordinary.

Dessert was some chocolate puff...

And the molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream...

Thank you guys! For the dinner and great conversations!

I will be back for the ribs!

All Things Delicious

Finally made it back to All Things Delicious for lunch!

I have such affinity with the folks of this place and I really like how they well they do their food and their social media!

We were offered a nice serving of their raya biscuits..

They are soooo good! I especially love the sugee and the gula Melaka cookies! Sadly the sugee is sold out already! The gula Melaka cookies are crisp and very tasty!

Aside from the cookies, while waiting for our guests, we also couldn’t resist ordering the gula Melaka scone to share...

It’s sooooo good too!

Rachel had the beef sandwich and green pea soup....

Which the green pea soup was really good. Didn’t get to try the beef sandwich coz was too full.

For me, I had the crab cakes!

The crab cakes were good and the salad was refreshing. But what wow-ed me was the garlic bread! It was so good! The garlic flavour was intense and the bread was nicely toasted!

We were also recommended the Chee cheong fan...

Which has proved to be as interesting as the recommendation! It’s kale with chee cheong fan!

The meal was a delight!

But what came as a surprise was that Donna the pastry chef saw from my ig that it’s my birthday month and surprised me with this!

Awwwwwwww!!!

Thank you Donna! That was such a surprise and so sweet! Importantly the cake was so good! Moist chocolate cake topped with hazelnut cream. Love it!

Caffe B

today after work, i headed over to meet Ginny and Vivian over at Caffe B. They chose the venue and i'm glad its a place i have not visited.

The whole experience started right from the time i stepped down from my Grab ride. As i was trying to find the unit along Club Street, i was greeted " Hi! " by the manager Shafri.

He introduced himself and asked if i was in the company of Ginny. I responded positively and he led me upstairs.

As we walked up, he even offered to take pictures for me! Such a warm start!

level 2....

we were served the complimentary bread which i liked the one with sundried tomato inside. The butter and the olive paste as also really tasty!

One of the starters we had was the Farmer's egg...

chilled egg, uni, caviar and the egg white was fluffed like a paste...

MMmmm! so good!

Next up is the crab croquette...

very nicely fried (crispy on the outside) and soft on the inside....

Though i can say i like the taste of the croquette. feels a little too sweet for my liking.

for such a happy event like my birthday, got to have some drinks!

I had a virgin mojito....

the ladies had a lychee martini each!

we also shared a truffle fries...

the fries were super good. like really good especially the mayo they had, it was so so good! the portion was miserable though! for the price and for how good it was. Its quite sad. It feels like less than a person's portion. haha.

which was also super good! tender beef slices! YUMS!

For mains, we had Vongole, Squid Ink Risotto and a Rossini.

the squid ink risotto was good! Importantly, I'm happy to find another squid ink that is really squid ink-ish! I love it! Though i couldn't eat much but it was really good! something i'd love to be back for!

i will say the steak is the most ordinary tasting of the dishes.

Importantly, we almost had the whole of level 2 for a long while! We had very good, engaging conversations!

A surprise was planned for me, though not the best form of execution! haha lights were off and suddenly the female server brought some plates over though we din order anything. and i heard some 'pit pit pat pat' on the side and i asked " is it my birthday cake?? " hehehehe

my birthday cake is served with a sparkler!

although surprise failed but sweet thoughts appreciated!

The Seafoodies decided on Firebake to do our trio birthday celebration for squiddy, fishy and me!

I have been hearing how when this place started it was packed with people!

An iced latte to kick start the brunch. Most importantly, I wasn’t the latest one! ✌🏻

For starters, we shared a chicken liver pate...

Which was really good!

The bread was also very good! Butter was salted (and chargeable if you want refills).

First up for mains was the prawn pasta which was also the nicest item!

It was filled with prawn punch in terms of flavour! So good they almost wanted to order another! Inside was some mini ebi, really good!

Next up were the mussels...

The mussels were nice but not like wowwwww. The white sauce went well as a dip with the bread.

The beef stew...

Ok while the beef stew was ok, it was not wow. It’s not as thick as I’d like it to be and not as hot as I wish it to be!

The braised pork belly...

Thick slab and fatty! Not our kind of pork belly thou! I guess we half hoped for it to be crackling but they did however indicate as braised :)

We saw another table order this and we thought it looked really good while it passed by us....

We now realize it only looks better on others’ table. It was... ok~ not something I will order again.

We shared a chocolate brick as our joint birthday cake!

Morsels

Kendi wanted to give me a birthday treat and we decided on Morsels, some place where we both have not visited and heard some good reviews of....

Morsels was a very very small place. Probably just 20ish 30 seater in a very rustic setting...

The lunch menu was option of the rotational food item of the week (which for today is laksa, going at about $28) OR the sharing menu.

The sharing menu is a set menu where you get choice of one starter, One pasta, one mains and One Dessert. That went at like $45 and options of additional courses at additional course.

What we were a bit confused about initially was when the server told us all the items on the sharing menu as the name suggest, is to be shared. This means if 2/3/4 person visited, if one chooses oyster for the starter, the other person (people) must have the same. Cannot go for tuna tartare?

Means everyone must have the exact same items for every course? So boring right?

After clarifying and reclarifying, we caught the hint in the term “other than dietary restrictions”. I literally visualized myself doing a double wink left right up down with the server. 🤣

So anyway, starter we had the tuna tartare. Both of us! No dietary restrictions!

The cracker was very thin and the tuna tartare was very nicely seasoned. Yummy!

But wah upon the starter, we were a little worried. 吃得饱吗？feels like I’d still go very hungry after the next 3 courses!

For the next course, we had a “dietary restrictions” and managed to get a scallop and clam...

Scallop was sashimi style and seasoned. Good but very small portion.

Clams were cooked in very flavourful white sauce...

Very satisfied with the flavours but portions were making us wonder if we need to seek alternative venues later!

Pasta was the spicy pesto pulled pork (or was it beef)... which was really good as well!

I super love their squid ink risotto! It is so so so flavourful but it was such a smalllllllll portion. Like I can finish in one mouth!!! But it’s one of the few squid ink around these days that’s so flavourful with the squid ink punch!

And the mains of the salmon and chicken...

The salmon was done really well, sous vide style meaning it wasn’t over cooked, very yummy!

But the chicken, oh my god the chicken! I must say the chicken is my favourite of everything!

I don’t know if the chicken is something that goes for everyone but I LOVE IT! It’s got the very chicken-ish taste! The center part that’s a bit red is like some chinese wine-ish taste and even the corn that came accompanied was very special in taste. It felt like the corn was also infused with the chicken taste!

My only pick is still the portion... like.... so Nice why so little??

And lastly for dessert we went for the Panna cotta...

The Ninja Cut

I made reservations via chope right when I saw this email blast....

50% off leh! I generally quite like the food at Ninja. Comparing ninja bowl Vs ninja cut, I sort of prefer bowl but alas promo is only at Cut.

Rachel and myself headed over a little early coz our work appointment ended early. We got there as early as 11.30 am and were the first to arrive. As we were the first to arrive, we know we can finish our meal fast and rush back to the office so we requested for a 4 seater whereby the seats had backing. The servers obliged on the 4 seater but informed us that if we are here for the 50% promo, we can only start ordering at 12pm. Fine by us though I can’t help but find it quite silly. Coz if the aim of this promo/campaign is to maximize sales/create awareness, the sooner I start eating, the sooner I will leave and the faster you can turn the table around no?

But yeah so we waited and were given the menu to look at what we want. We were also given a piece of blank paper and pen to write down our order.

When we Enquired abt the matcha pancake (which I thot is quite the signature here), they told us it is no available but later updated that it was made available for this promo.

Soon, another table of people joined and basically both were sort of waiting for the time to order. By 11.47am, one of the server came by to tell us that we can start ordering, they called their boss who agreed to let us start ordering.

I couldn’t really recall whether we ordered first or the second table that came after us ordered first (though it doesn’t matter who ordered first - but what mattered was how ill prepared they were for such a campaign and how long it took for our orders to arrive).

So anyway, when I took the piece of paper to go order, the order person told me to let him have the paper with my order and have a seat. All along, my understanding is Ninja ordering is done at counter with payment done prior to serving. But ok, since they asked us to sit down, we sat down and waited for our order.

Soon after, the crowded started pouring in. Big groups of people started arriving and apparently people who made reservations for 8 but arrived in groups of 10s or 12s - which is totally logical to me (haha, 50% leh!).

The whole place was filling up fast and the first order that was served was to the table that came after us (which is also perfectly fine coz like i said i can't recall who ordered first though it does seem weird to me if they ordered first since we were clearly sitting around since we got in with our order chit ready).

anyways, food did arrive and they also asked us to shift to a table for 2 by now since the crowd was pouring. And from a business point of view, i do agree doesn't make sense for them to let 2 of us occupy a table for 4. ALTHOUGH also, i did have 3 mains, one soba, one dessert and 2 drinks (NO WAY a one table can hold everything). So the logical thing to do is......... to hold the dessert tio bo?

But no leh.. they served the dessert as well.

At this point i can't help but think of one thing - 早早没有人的时候让我order不是好？？You could prepare it earlier before all these crowd as well.

Also, while food did arrive, they did take quite awhile too. Which is another thing that made me confused, shouldn't such food be pretty much pre-prepared? den i thought of the same thing - 早早没有人的时候让我order不是好？？

we were really hungry~~~~

but ok, food took awhile but not super overly long. Long for a campaign / promo day i guess? Shouldn't things be bam bam bam go go go?

anyway, the food overall was pretty good though. Kudos to the flavour and i think i typically prefer the food at Ninja Bowl but today Ninja Cut's items proved to be pretty good too.

The pulled pork..

pork were flavoured very nicely like a stew, rather soft. Onsen egg was nicely done with some fried wanton skin.

The beef cheeks...

also quite well flavoured beef cheeks in a stew. Savoury flavourful stew like textured tender beef stew.

another reason why i like ninja bowl better is also the fact that they have this ninja pasta thingy. its very small n goes so darn well with the stew sauce!

our side of soba...

which was mediocre.

the crab meat croissant that we ordered after going through their social media account and found this to look damn appetising! Oh... maybe thats why they didnt allow us to order earlier!

anyway, the crabmeat croissant was not bad!

dessert was the matcha pancake...

with molten matcha in the middle. Honestly, i wouldn't understand why they would take it off the menu and only serve it during this event. I mean, IT IS one of your more instagram worthy item!

and all this while, we were still waiting for our drinks. Super thirsty. Rachel ordered the coconut lemon mint upon my recommendation but its only after checking that they say they are out of stock for it. Im like .. huh? we are the first table to reach leh...... but apparently they are out of it for a few days already. Your big day when out of it? we asked to replace her coconut with the same iced latte i ordered.

aside from us, all other customers didnt get their drinks yet. Only that second table that arrived after us prob did. So when i FINALLY saw 2 iced latte at the counter. Seeing that no one seemed to be bringing over (they busy lor), i walked over wanting to collect it and i like to think i really politely ranted (really i got check my tone) that i am here to collect my latte and i have actually already finished my food.

What do you think is the right response from the server?

Her response was " I dunno who to send it to! "

and finally i was ready to leave, i went over wanting to pay, they appeared shocked i haven't paid. And they asked me to rewrite down my orders. HENG THEY NEVER ASK ME TO QUEUE TO PAY. if they did i CONFIRM will walk to the end of the line where the door is and leave!

But i paid ok!!

I generally think the food is good here. I just think they are very ill prepared for a campaign of this scale. In general the servers were ok except for that one lady.

Osteria Art

Bunny gave me and Wendy a joint birthday treat and we decided on Osteria Art!

Been awhile since I visited Osteria but it is Bunny’s first visit after hearing me rave a few times about Osteria’s pork cheeks pasta!

Wendy and Jessica arrived first and they ordered the foie gras and the prawn tartar...

The foie gras was very good and a decent portion.

The prawn tartar was a very small portion and taste wasn’t strong but texture was good in my view.

Some complimentary bread like thingy...

Accompanied with some Parmesan shavings.

Burrata....

The burrata was ok, it was decent but can be better!

My favourite pork cheeks pappadelle!

After trying, they all agreed with me that this pasta here is superb! The pasta has a bouncy texture and the flavor of the sauce went very well with the pasta! A must order!

The Uni pasta...

Which was decent but I kind of felt it’s not worth the price.

The tomahawk was going at $148 and it was really good! Served with some grilled rosemary, the aroma was great!

The steak!!! Thumbs up!!!

It was juicy and we all loved the slightly charred sides with some salted sides. It’s very good! Something that I wouldn’t mind coming back for!

The tiramisu was really dry...

The Ferraro rocher was not bad...

Greenwood Fish Market

Ah yee and ping jie jie offered to give me a birthday treat and the venue was decided to be at Greenwood! We visited the first Greenwood fish market years ago at Greenwood itself and it left us very good impression.

Today, we take on the Sentosa outlet despite rumors of tight security due to the upcoming Donald and Kim conference! There were no observations of any enforced security thou!

Seafood chowder...

The seafood chowder was thick with good amount of seafood but taste wise it wasn’t as flavourful

Crab cake!

The crab cake was pretty good! Nicely crispy and good portion of crab meat inside above a nest of beet root salad!

Calamari..

The calamari was fairly decent. I wouldn’t say it’s superb but it’s ok!

Oysters....

We liked the oysters that were served in general. Especially the Canadian ones!

The server recommended the monk fish. He described it as a lobster like texture and told us how some regions, people who cannot afford lobsters will have monk fish...

The monk fish portion was hugh! Like some tomahawk rack, it’s so good! We all loved it so much! The texture was firm and fresh! I think we will be back for it!

Bunny ordered the barimandi...

Shima

Headed to Shima for my birthday lunch this year with Bunny!

Haven’t been there for the longest time, I think the last time I went was with my mum years ago. So I was truly looking forward to relive the good times (and of course the food!) haha.

Much has changed though, and I must say I was definitely appalled by their customer service. We were late for our reservation and worried that they might be ‘full’, I went ahead to make a later time slot booking via Chope. Received a call from Shima to check if we were still fulfilling the reservation, I informed them we were running late and also of the Chope reservation I made, only to be met with a ‘yeah whatever’ reply from the man over the phone. You can imagine how shocked i was. But with the intention of not spoiling my birthday lunch, decided to look past it.

When we eventually got to Shima, we were greeted by their staff (Henry) and was attended by him. Told him about my phone conversation and asked who could possibly be the person tending to the phone calls and he clarified that it should be this man called Clinton.

After being seated we noticed they had ongoing Love Dining promotions with Amex and before we could ask/find out more about it, Henry told us this is for the real Amex card. Horrors of horror, what was that supposed to mean?! Like the man over the phone wasn’t bad enough, we questioned what he was trying to say? Fortunately we found out it was just a misunderstanding, as Henry explained he wasn’t exactly fluent in English as he speaks more Japanese and have spent the past years in japan. He was actually trying to tell us that the regular buffet menu was of more value than the Amex promo for lunches.

Having cleared the misunderstanding, we started our lunch! First up were the starters, prawn tempura, shishamo, salmon sashimi and a portion of Makimono sushi (can’t recall what was in it).

Followed by the garlic teppanyaki prawns. These were really good! Bouncy and fragrant buttery garlic prawns. Think we had 3 more portions of that after. Haha.

The teriyaki salmon and chicken were less impressive. Salmon was a tad bit overdone, not overly dry but just seemed to fail the expectations that I had for Shima. The chicken, according to Bunny, tasted like it was simply coated with a layer of instant teriyaki sauce. I ordered another portion, but this time without the sauce, tasted much better though. Probably also cuz I usually prefer my meats without sauces. Haha.

Next up was the beef, diced and done medium-rare, served alongside fried garlic slices. Beefy and tender, this was also something we ordered extra portions of. Like that it was done without any sauce as well.

The side of stirfried mixed vegetables was very passable, as well as the miso soup and garlic fried rice. Nothing to fault, nothing that impressed. The meal ended with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

One thing to highlight and note though, was amidst the displeasure in service, there was a more elderly Japanese waitstaff who was really nice and prompt in service. His presence really helped clear up the bad experiences at the start.

I guess I had higher hopes and expectations from Shima, likely due to the memory and experiences I had from when I was much younger. The fact that lunch started out on such a bad note didn’t help. But for $49.90 per pax for a teppanyaki buffet, I must say it is of value. Hopefully, if there is actually a next visit, the service would’ve improved.

Burlamacco was recommended by a celebrity chef Friend, chef Chalong!

Decided to do dinner with Dear Dear, Leonard and Cheryl here today!

Welcoming me is chef Gabriele! Good friend of chef Chalong! Thank you for your warm hospitality!

And yes, we did arrange to wear camou!

We ordered 4 Set dinners!

For starters, Dear Dear chose some beef thingy...

Was very beefy in a rich tomato paste.

The rest of us All had tuna tartare...

Which was so good! Creamy avocado top and nicely chopped tuna.

We topped up with another side of Burrata....

We also added an order of mussels...

Love the sauce!

For mains, I had the beef...

It was so tender and the portion was 👍🏻

I also insisted on ordering the pappardelle with pork ragout...

I have always had a thing for pappardelle! Theirs was nice but I think my favourite remains at Osteria Art!

Was craving for the Buddha jump over the wall but was told they have a new outlet at airport so decided to check it out!

It’s over at T4 foodcourt, good chance to visit t4 too!

The soup here is more expensive. The one at jurong is $7.50 whilst this is $11. But price isn’t the issue. It’s the thickness and flavor. The soup at jurong is like 5x thicker than the one here. Disappointing.

The olive rice was really good thou!

The lobster salad is as good as usual!

Chunky lobster meat above a bed of avocado.

The cod fish dish I liked is replaced and done in another way...

While the server said that most people prefer this new way, I prefer the former way it was done!

So after buying some local snacks to bring back home at Chinatown, I couldn’t help notice a small crowd nearby.

And from noticing, I found myself doing the very Singaporean thing - joining the Q.

Which coincidentally in one of my group chats today, someone shared the following joke:

So anyway, it merely said “Bread”

I don’t event know if there’s a shop name. But ok!

I tried to follow what the others did. There were pieces of paper where u can apparently write your orders on them and put them in a basket.

So I did. I actually didn’t even know if the part where I wrote my name June is supposed to be for my name but yeah I submitted and waited, hoping that they know how to read my name.

After waiting for awhile, I eventually figured out that oh, they might have been reading the number on the slip! But I can’t recall my number and even if I did, I would onto 85 in thai!

Luckily amongst sieving through the slips they found my paper and I think I got a fast track coz the lady just wanted to finish my order and pass it to me.

The most interesting of the flavors must be the chilli but I didn’t order.

I would say the butter sugar one was nice. The rest was ok, not sure why the long Q.
