The Native Americans were the first settlers of the area and were the ancestors of Catawba, Cherokee and Yamasee tribes. The French and Spanish tried hard to establish permanent settlement in the region but they failed to do so.But in 1670, British settled down near Charleston and named the area as Carolina after the name of the England's King Charles II.The region was further divided into the provinces of South Carolina and North Carolina.During the beginning of eighteenth century, producing rice was one of the most profitable business and millions of pounds of rice was exported during that time.It gradually became the commercially import port and as a consequence the nearby area also began to develop.South Carolina declared its independence from English in 1776.South Carolina was the area which had witnessed more wars than any other region of the nation.

Charleston exhibits several attractions such as American Military Museum, Angel Oak Tree and many more historically significant sites which make the history alive. The American Military Museum offers around 70 displays of authentic artifacts from 14 American conflicts right from the revolutionary war to the most recent Iraq war.One can find 260 uniforms, 33 flags medal and a range of artifacts from departments of U.S defense.Initially the museum was about the military uniforms and personal effects and one can find a display showing how a chaplain of the military used to dress. This is one of the best places to find a range of unique and rarest items.

Whether one is on tour for Charleston city for business or just for pleasure, one would find perfect accommodation options depending upon the budget and preferences. The hotels of Charleston are known for its hospitality and for comfortable and quality lodging.
Two coveted Michelin stars were awarded to ALEX, Alessandro Stratta's namesake restaurant, and one star to both Richard Chen's Wing Lei and Daniel Boulud Brasserie.

In North America, only eight hotels have received Michelin's highest rating of Five Red Pavilions, only eight restaurants have received two stars and 55 restaurants have received one star. Wing Lei is the first and only Michelin rated Chinese restaurant on the continent. These prestigious honors bring a trifecta to Wynn Las Vegas, the only casino resort in the world to hold the Mobil Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards for both hotel and fine dining.

The Michelin Guide features a selection of the best restaurants and hotels in a given city or region, across various comfort and price scales, and is widely considered the "bible of gastronomy for foodies." Restaurants worthy of a star or multiple stars reflect the characteristics of first-class quality, a mastery of cooking and a superior product. Named for internationally acclaimed executive chef Alessandro (Alex) Stratta, ALEX offers refined French cuisine in one of the most luxurious and opulent settings at The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas. Chef Stratta creates seasonal menus inspired by the flavors of France.

In the hands of this gifted chef, even the simplest of ingredients are transformed and elevated to the summit of fine dining. ALEX has received additional honors including the AAA Five-Diamond and Mobil Five-Star awards. Wing Lei takes its place as the "Haute Chinese" restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas. Helmed by rising star chef Richard Chen, Wing Lei offers guests refined Chinese cuisine in a beautifully elegant setting. The menu features traditional Chinese selections as well as new, innovative pairings of Eastern and Western ingredients.

World-renowned chef Daniel Boulud and co-executive chef Wes Holton showcase their mastery of French cuisine at Daniel Boulud Brasserie. The menu features modern brasserie fare that pays homage to Boulud's roots while playfully reinterpreting many classic dishes. Boulud's signature touch is highlighted in an elegant and cozy atmosphere with a magnificent view of the Lake of Dreams.

Wynn Resorts, Limited is traded on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol WYNN and is part of the NASDAQ-100 Index. Recovering from years of economic misery, Romania is quickly becoming the hidden jewel of Eastern Europe.

Dracula v. Ceausescu
In pop culture, Romania is always equated with Count Dracula, Bran Castle and Transylvania. These assumptions are wrong. Vlad Tepes is widely regarded as the person on whom the Dracula character is based. Known as Vlad the Impaler, there is no disputing this was one nasty individual, but he wasn't a vampire. On top of this, Vlad the man never resided in Bran Castle, a real castle and the home of the fictional Dracula. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there was a person arguably worse than Dracula or Vlad in Romania's history.

Introducing Nicolae Ceausescu, the reigning worst dictator in the history of Europe. A pig on all counts, this man treated Romania as his personal fiefdom through much of the twentieth century. While leading the country into economic ruin, he built lavish estates for he and his wife. While Romanians starved on the streets, he and his wife spent money like Joan Collins at a plastic surgeon. When he was finally expelled from office, the people were so outraged by his excess that he and his wife were literally stoned to death.

Unfortunately, the country didn't recover quickly. The last five years, however, have seen major advancements, and Romania is now a must visit location.

Bucharest
Once considered the Paris of the East, Bucharest suffered greatly during Ceausescu's reign. Ancient buildings with French and Turkish influences were replaced with communist inspired concrete block buildings in redevelopment projects. Currently, the city is a microcosm of the lurching recovery of the country. Elegant neighborhoods border slums and there appears to be little or no middle class. There appears to be only the poor or rich. When visiting Romania, you will have to fly into Bucharest. Just don't stay too long.

Brasov
Brasov is located in the hilly terrain of Transylvania and is a good place to visit. Located in the center of the country, Brasov is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. The city is a resounding example of old world Romania with an ancient center city square and little cafes throughout.

The real appeal of Brasov is the surrounding land. Unspoiled, the mountains surrounding Brasov are full of little villages and surrounding forests. In this area, you'll find bears, wolves and other threatened animals roaming freely. On top of this, the land is ripe with outdoor activity opportunities such as skiing, hiking, camping, hunting, rock climbing and parachuting. While all of this exists in other travel destinations, there is no tourist trap feel in Brasov.

Carpathian Mountains
The Carpathian Mountains are visually stunning. While there are attractions throughout the mountains, such as Bran Castle, don't try to simply visit a particular place. Instead, rent a car in Brasov or hire a driver and just go for a ride. The scenery is so overwhelming it is hard to describe. You'll drive down and up into gorges that seem endless, see rivers bombing down mountain sides and see animals only found in National Geographic documentaries. Go for this drive and I guarantee you will be blabbering about it for at least five days.

Romania is the hidden gem of Eastern Europe and you should definitely visit. You don't even need to wear garlic.

With views that are simply breath-taking, the countered rocky mountains are also home to tourists from around the world that visit each week to experience the slopes that are not only challenging, yet also custom-built in the case of certain slaloms. Solden is also a great place to learn skiing with expert teaching facilities, and a team of 20+ on hand to help new skiers learn, and experienced skiers improve.

The resort is located around 50 miles out with Innsbruck and 20 miles west of Otztal. As you can imagine the area is dedicated to Skiing, with hotels and guest houses attempting to leverage skiing upon their brand, to attract a loyal customer-base from the slopes. This is something that has worked, and with 6,500 snowboarders also choosing to hit the Solden slopes each week Austria's skiing capital is showing no signs of regression.

With the increased popularity of skiing activities in Solden, the company operating the slopes has more than 20 instructors working at one time, putting wind behind their suggestion that over 1000 new skiers start on their slopes each week. With the rise of snowboarding attracting a teenage audience, Solden has attempted to accommodate, through offering drinking facilities and clubs near by, where the teenagers on vacation can chill at night, after a hard day on the slopes. The fun and entertainment does not stop at clubs, or 5 star hotels for that matter, Solden is also home to the Solden Firework Display, providing 2 hours of fireworks every second evening. The look of the fireworks, as the light flashes off the snow is simply amazing and this is one of many reasons why Solden is famed for character and personality, over and above its Austrian counterparts.

So what other features set Solden apart from the rest? Offering night time activities under the fireworks, it is possible to ski and snowboard under floodlights. This is something that has not only attracted skiers from around the world, but also internationally renowned DJs and musicians that feel the cool and hip Solden slopes is a perfect place to hang out.

Skiing at night may appear to be a very dangerous activity, however I have been assured that only basic slaloms are allowed and that the night is primarily aimed at snowboarders, that don't cover as much distance on a board. Austria's Solden slope has hosted many events to a global and European audience, and just as would be expected, the crowd and the competitors both enjoyed the event, with the winner being a native Austrian himself at the last Stella Artios Cup, that seen over 500 competitors from nearly 40 countries taking part.

With the rise of snowboarding, great skiing locations such as Solden are doing everyone proud in maintaining skiing as well. Through welcoming the snow boarding community with open arms, we are able to see a unity between the sports at the Solden peeks, and we are also seeing younger children being exposed to Skiing, through choosing to go snowboarding and seeing it their.

Whether you are a young child, or an adult, whether you have skied or snowboarded before, Solden is the best location in Europe and throughout the world for skiing activities on a recreational and competitive level. With deep snow, and a firm texture I would recommend Solden to absolutely anyone.

The ski lift is newly fitted making it a very smooth and comfortable ride. The lift covers over 20 miles and was voted the third-best ski lift in the entire world. With excellent accommodation and among the best snowboarding and skiing facilities in the world, I would recommend Solden to anyone looking to experience skiing for the first time, or someone looking to take their skiing to the next level through riding a challenging slalom.

The monuments and bridges are illuminated, and the glow of old-fashioned and modern street lamps, the blaze of sidewalk-cafe windows, and the glare of neon signs flood the avenues and boulevards. Parisians start the serious part of their evenings as in other European people stretch, yawn, and announce it's time for bed. Once the workday is over, most people go to a cafe to meet with friends over a drink and perhaps a meal. Later they may go home or even proceed to a restaurant or the theater; and much later, they may show up at a bar or a dance club.

Parisians shows one the many facets of nightlife; where to go for a quiet drink and a tête à tête, and where to go to party. Whether one wants to watch a play or film, see a concert, or dance until the early Metro. Paris is the place to be in and the best place to spend an evening.

Pigalle is the seedy sex centre of Paris but home to some good music venues and the Moulin Rouge cabaret, where the cancan is still performed. Montmartre is heaving in summer but the views over Paris from Sacre-Coeur are matchless.

Bastille is buzzing with bars and clubs but is a bit too hectic for some. The best area for an evening's café-hopping is the Marais district, closely followed by the increasingly fashionable Oberkampf, which suits a younger crowd.

The hottest Paris nightspots are in the city's northeastern districts, particularly around Ménilmontant, Oberkampf, and Belleville, while the Bastille clubs and the Marais bars are still going strong. The Grands Boulevards and Pigalle/Montmartre are also bubbly places with plenty of theaters, bars, and concert venues. By contrast, the Rive Gauche is a relatively minor player, dominated by student pubs and jazz bars in the Latin Quarter and a sprinkling of chic hangouts toward St-Germain-des-Prés. The Gucci-and-Vuitton-clad jet set can still be found around the Champs-Élysées and Rue St-Honoré, with prices to match the ritzy atmosphere. In warmer months Parisians flock to the floating clubs and bars, moored along the Seine from Bercy to the Eiffel Tower. Midweek, people are usually home after closing hours.

Nightlife in Paris is alive and kicking. The "City of Lights" has never been shy or early to bed. "Bars" aren't clearly defined. It could mean an establishment which serves beer, one which serves beer and food, wine, wine and food, a cabaret atmosphere or any other descriptions. Bars have taken the place of the café. The variety of music halls, jazz clubs, dance halls, rock music, cabarets, satiric theater, and risqué entertainment is incomparable to other places in the world. Paris is still a city not shy of nudity and there are many gay and lesbian clubs and restaurants mostly found in Le Marais. Bars are usually wine bars and pubs are generally serving beer and hard liquor. Clubs usually have food and entertainment. There are still some literary haunts and many hotels have their own clubs. Cabarets are still the first choice of nightlife entertainment because it is in the cabaret one will find the cancan of Paris. Just about every club and cabaret has a cover charge. Some covers include champagne or a one drink. There is no way one can get bored in Paris. Paris after dark is swinging.

I love the way that one day I can be driving from Budapest airport to city hotels with a young couple on their honeymoon; and another day I can be transporting a load of young men here in my beautiful city for a weekend of high jinx. But no matter who I'm driving, I always like to tailor my routes to their accommodation depending on the part of the city I think would appeal most to them. I've been doing this for a lot of years now, so I know Budapest like the back of my hand. There are loads of short cuts, long cuts and quite a few, just-for-the-sake-of-it cuts! I have to admit though, I'm a bit of an old romantic and my favourite passengers are the ones clearly in love; and for them, I have a very special route...

Margaret Island
Although we can't strictly drive right past this on our Budapest Airport to city route, I always point it out as a place for young (and not so young) lovers to go. Margaret Island is a 2km long island set in the middle of the Danube which separates the two sides of the city. It has a lovely calming atmosphere and you can either stroll through the landscaped garden admiring the profusion of flowers; or simply sit quietly in one of the bars with a cocktail and watch the world go by. But the most romantic way to see the entire island is to hire a pedal carriage and cycle at your leisure along the beautifully kept paths and walkways.

Széchenyi Thermal Bath
I always tell my clients looking for romance about this amazing place. It is fabulous for relaxing and unwinding after a day spent sightseeing, and I actually even had one elderly gentleman and lady ask me to take them there on their way back to Budapest Airport! To city workers and tourists, these thermal baths are a haven of comfort and relaxation, and the decor of the building itself is worth the visit alone. Its neo-classic silhouette presides over three outdoor thermal pools complete with fountains and marble statues. It is a wonderful place for lovers to go and drift lazily in the warm, tranquil waters before an early evening stroll along the river.

A Candlelit River Cruise
If I'm driving people at night on the Budapest Airport to city route, the first thing they see as we near the centre is the beautiful Danube River. It is truly the most stunning aspect of the city, dividing the two sides neatly in half. In my opinion, the ultimate romantic thing to do on a visit to Budapest is to go on a candlelit dinner cruise with the one you love. I have recommended so many couples to do this because I know from personal experience how lovely it is. Every year, on our anniversary, my wife and I take the same cruise along the Danube and every year we agree; our beautiful city just gets better and better.

These are just three of my favourite romantic ideas for a visit to Budapest, but in reality, the entire city is built on romance and you cannot escape her magical spell. Viva l'amore.

But the luxury hotels and the resorts have made the vacations in Caribbean a well-liked place for all the honeymooners and the retirees a long back. The backpacking and the eco-tourism options have made independent travelers also love it. Weather in Caribbean is almost mild over the entire year; many kinds of all inclusive Caribbean packages and airfares are available; and there is an option of 100's of islands available to choose between them.

Islands in the Caribbean such as Barbados, Aruba, and Cayman out of many are comparatively warm and very flat. Certain other islands, including Hispaniola, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, and Puerto Rico mark rugged and high mountain ranges alongside of a cool and brisk weather. Even though the climates in all the islands are tropical, weather varies among the different islands because of geography, currents and oceans, and trade winds which blow from east has the effect of creating rain-shadow effects upon the islands which are mountainous. The group of diverse ecosystems are been supported by the diverse climate conditions on the Caribbean islands, which may include the range from Montana cloud forest to cactus scrublands. The weather in winter is dry and warm. Caribbean vacations can be hampered by the season having hurricanes in the time of late summer until the beginning of fall.

Deforestation has been a problem over the hundreds of years for the cause of human settlement, there also exist different kinds of species of birds, mammals, and reptiles which has considered to be nature preserves and threatened species.

Originally, Arawak Indians inhabited the Caribbean islands; they were then invaded by a Carib aggressive tribe. Waves of invaders were seen in 16th to 18th centuries from Portugal, France, Holland, Spain, and England populated these islands, which were the picture of several different and important battles and also the pirate gangs' lair. The number of American Indians was decreased due to war and disease, however, introduction to slaves of Africa and European immigration were responsible for a huge population growth. The waves of immigrants from India and China arrived in the 19th century enlarging the population around 30 million at the current date. Africans (Igbo, Yoruba, Akan, and Kongo), Asian (Indian and Chinese), American Indians (Taino, Arawak, and Caribs) together with European descendants are the ethnic groups are the main reasons for more population. Around 13 sovereign nations are there among the islands and there are also 2 overseas colonies along with 14 dependent territories.

Off the southeast and southern coasts of Florida, the Greater Antilles are been located, and are also formed through 4 important islands, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Hispaniola, and Jamaica (which is further divided on the eastern side of the island as Dominican Republic and on the west as Hati). Well thought-out as a part of this group is the Cayman Islands. Caribbean all inclusive group containing all the smaller islands are the Lesser Antilles which outlines an arc between the Greater Antilles and the northern coast of South America. The most popular and famous islands of the number of islands available are Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Anguilla, Martinique, Aruba, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Martin, Virgin, and the Trinidad and Tobago Islands.

VACATIONS IN CARIBBEAN
Bahamas
In Bahamas you feel like heaven is much closer than what you had imagined. Off the coast of Florida you can even find a piece of heaven, in the Bahamas islands. A magical collaboration of laid-back island attitude and the British Colonial formality can be discovered in the midst of a chain of seven hundred tiny islands.

Jamaica
Jamaica is also called as an island for everyone, which provides its visitors a wide range from the exciting mountains which is enclosed by rainforest to the sandy white beaches. Beat of Reggae is the one thing that must not be missed by anyone. Jamaica can be enjoyed the most by residing at anyone of the classy amazing resorts.

Curacao
It is a little difficult for people to locate Curacao on the map just because that's how they needed to keep it. Anyways Curacao is situated on the coast of Southern Caribbean Venezuela. This is a small undiscovered gem and however it still carries its dignity of charming Dutch influence.

For others, it's a natural occurrence and a natural consideration. If you're comfortable in your own skin, they argue, why not head out in just that skin?

There are a variety of things to consider when choosing a nude beach. Many experts say location is one factor as you probably want some measure of privacy (and most nude beaches offer this). Other factors to consider are the age range of people who visit the beach (you'll likely want to be with a group around your own age) and other factors that really have to do more with your own comfort level.
If you are considering heading to a nude beach, why not head for the best? Here's a list of the top 5 nude beaches, as chosen by the Travel Channel.

1.Montalivet, France. This area is called the international birthplace of the naturalist movement. At this beach resort, you can camp (most popular) or stay in one of the 172 bungalows. This is a family resort, so if it's in your comfort level to include the kids, you won't be the only ones. This resort features a wide variety of classes that range from soccer to yoga and everything includes the whole family. This gives new meaning to the term au natural!

2.Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Famous for its many beach resorts, this area of Jamaica also includes the Couples Resort, which is an excellent start for the new nudists. The resort itself it not a nudist resort, but there's a beach just offshore that's for nudists. Featuring a pristine beach, private cozy nooks all around and a cabana bar, this island is private and safe, making newbies feel comfortable in their newly exposed skin.

3.Wreck Island, British Columbia. This four-mile stretch of beach is so named because a huge wrecked sea vessel once inhabited the sand. At this friendly beach, you can enjoy the nesting area of the bald eagles, and know civilization is just a few steps away (the University of British Columbia is just a few hundred steps above the beach). One of the most lively parts of this beach is Vendor's Row, where you can shop (in the nude) for souvenirs, handmade items and other goodies (including sunscreen, which you'll need in abundance).

4.Samurai Beach, Australia. Located in Port Stephens, this beach backs up to the clothing-optional Bardot's resort. At the beach, you can enjoy nude volleyball, Frisbee, and tug of war. This is the spot of the famous Nude Olympics, which are held each year. Events include Nude Surfing, Nude Beach Girl and Guy Competition and Nude Torch Relay.

5.Hedonism II, Jamaica. Yes, laid-back Jamaica can claim two of the top five nude beaches. At this clothing optional resort, expect a good party. There's nude swimming, sunbathing and volleyball, as well as what the resort calls a "lush garden of playful passion". Designed for playful couples and singles, the resort features a big party scene, lots of lush and delicious food and a nude good time all around.

For centuries it ruled half the world as the center of the monarchy power, but it is now a one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. One central to the Spanish Inquisition, Madrid is now known for its vibrant nightclubs, incredible shopping and abundance of art.

A trip to Madrid rewards the traveler with first-rate soccer and bullfighting, and shopping third in Europe to only Paris and London. The traveler also experiences the best and most beautiful art museums, parks equal to those in Manhattan, New York. A trip to Madrid is surely not a quick pass through. Visitors should anticipate spending some time in the city.

Art lovers will surely want to visit the Prado, but the Museu Thyseen-Bornemisza is a recent addition that should definitely not be missed. It was founded by the family of wealthy industrialist Baron Thyssen and his wife, a former Miss Spain, housing over seven hundred of Europe's beautiful treasures from the thirteen to the twentieth centuries. The Queen Sofia is home to an abundant amount of twentieth century art, enough to satisfy fans of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

However, there is more to Madrid than the art museums. You can take a walk in Madrid's sunny climate and visit the beautiful Parque del Buene Retiro. Though this park is smaller than Manhattan's Central Park and even smaller than London's Hyde Park, it is no less beautiful with lakes, sculptures, lovely grounds and Crystal Place.

At nearby Plaza Mayor, travelers can enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants or cafes. Or, they can simply sit under the shade and "people-watch." The Plaza Mayor square is nearly 100m on each side and is surrounded by buildings that have watched many things throughout the years, from beheadings to bullfighting.

Be sure to allow time for a visit to the Royal Palace, or Palacio Real. It was home to Spain's monarchs and still contains the Royal Armory, throne room and Royal Pharmacy. Visitors can stand in some of the 2,800 rooms and imagine what it was like for the royal families and monarchs ruling half the world from that very room. It is not a difficult thing to imagine, though, when you are looking at displays of El Cid's sword, porcelain vases and hundreds of jewels.

Of course, leave time to shop. Gran Via is Madrid's most well known shopping area. You can find anything form the popular El Rastro flea market to department stores, such as the El Core Inglés. In addition to these, Madrid's shopping offers much more, including Calle Montera, Calle Alcala, Calle Princesa and so many terrific stores and boutiques.

For anyone planning to visit Madrid, you will want to plan to spend some time in the beautiful city. There are many great packages available offering fabulous accommodations and great travel deals. Take a look and make your way to Madrid to experience its art, history, attractions and fabulous shopping!

This sector of the Virgin Islands has belonged to the United States since 1917 when they were acquired from the Danish government for $25m in gold to protect American coasts from German U-boat attack.

At the time, it was feared that Germany might conquer the islands and construct submarine pens there in order to attack American supply shipping, which was vital to the allies in Europe during the First World War.

The US Virgin islands is a group of about 60 largely uninhabited islands, the four biggest of which are called St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island. (By the way, 'Saint' is pronounced in the English manner). The Islands' residents, however, have other names for these four which are Twin City, Rock City, Love City and Small City respectively.

Christopher Columbus landed there on November 14th, 1493, but there is proof of human habitation on the island going back to 5000 BC. In fact, the Arawaks and the Caribs made up the islands' populace, before the Europeans got there.

Possession of St Croix and the other Virgin Islands changed a great deal over the following centuries, but it became infamous to many people as Santa Cruz, which is its Spanish name. As Santa Cruz, St Croix featured highly in 17th and 18th century stories of pirates and buccaneers on the Spanish Main.

In fact, after Spain initially took control of the island, it changed hands seven times; having been Spanish, British, French, Maltese, Dutch, Danish and now American. The residents of the US Virgin Islands are now US citizens and carry US passports. They also use the US dollar and US laws.

St Croix was an agricultural powerhouse in the Caribbean until the 1960's when the local government decided it was time to industrialize. The island is now home to HOVENSA, one of the largest oil refineries in the world.
There is also a sizeable distillery, the Cruzan Rum Distillery, which used to produce rum from sugar cane grown on the island. Sugar cane, or its extract, molasses are now imported from the Dominican Republic to manufacture Southern Comfort and Cruzan Rum. Diageo is planning to build a distillery there too in order to produce Captain Morgan Rum.

Inhabitants of the island call themselves Crucians. However, there is a lot of debate about what constitutes a 'real Crucian'. Many say that a Crucian is someone who was born and raised on St Croix, while others claim that descendants of the slaves that the Danes took over in 16th and 17th Centuries are the only true Crucians.

Many Crucians can track their ancestry back to Puerto Rico or other Virgin islands as the sugar cane industry attracted a lot of migrant workers in the 1930's, 40's and 50's. There was also an inflow of down-islanders (ie from other Caribbean islands), as the residents say, after the industrialization of St Croix in the US Virgin Islands in the 1960's and 1970's as tourism and oil became more central to the economy.

To be sure, there's nothing like being able to soak up rays and refresh in the swimming pool following one of the most intense winter seasons on record - more than 60% of the U.S. was reportedly blanketed in snow earlier this year. That being said, it's no surprise travelers are more than ready to hit up picturesque beaches, fine restaurants and lively nightclubs in Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and other spring break hot spots as the weather heats up. Read on for a taste of what awaits you at these meccas for fun, sun and much more.
Party in Miami
Known for its pearly white sand beaches and booming nightlife scene, everything about South Beach oozes fun and vibrancy. Fashion shoots and star-studded events are standard here, thus earning Miami a reputation as an oasis for the fashion forward. Shopping options are endless, from the popular Dolphin Mall in Doral to fine boutiques on Ocean Drive to a wide collection of stylish designer stores in the heart of the Collins Avenue Fashion District. Then there's scores of chic, Art Deco hotels nestled on South Beach, each within minutes of the city's hippest attractions. Among them are the trendy Whitelaw Hotel; Hotel Chelsea, an Art Deco fixture since 1936; the Beach Paradise Hotel, whose design was inspired by Spanish mansions of old; and the Deauville Beach Resort, which over the years has attracted the likes of celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Let Loose in Los Angeles
I'd be remiss to discuss Los Angeles shopping and nightlife without highlighting Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The former includes world-famous Rodeo Drive, a shopping district famous for its upscale boutiques and shops. Passing through West Hollywood is the Sunset Strip, an area where colorful and expansive billboards are easy to find, as are various restaurants, nightclubs, and - if you're lucky enough - a celebrity or two. Like Miami, Los Angeles is a playground for beachgoers as thousands flock to Venice Beach, among the city's other sizzling beaches, to catch some rays or hang ten. Hotel Angeleno - a Joie de Vivre Hotel - and Hotel Beverly Terrace, two boutique properties in close proximity to Beverly Hills and Hollywood, make great places to unwind after a day of non-stop action in SoCal.

Live it up in Las Vegas
Dazzling lights and an ever-festive ambiance make Las Vegas a popular vacation hot spot year year-round, and spring break is certainly no exception. With scores of famous casinos, towering hotels, fine shops and renowned restaurants, it's no surprise the city has been dubbed "The Entertainment Capital of the World." Most of the world-famous Strip's best shows and attractions are found on the resort properties that line it. Take Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower. Aside from boasting the largest observation tower in the United States, it proves that Florida and California are far from the only places for theme park thrills. Guests can enjoy heart-pounding rides including X-Scream and Insanity, both of which propel you anywhere from 27 to 64 feet over the edge of the Tower. Racing aficionados will love Speed - The Ride, a state-of-the-art rollercoaster at Sahara Hotel and Casino's Nascar Cafe Entertainment Center. If your idea of fun involves getting wet, guests should not miss Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, winner of the AAA Four-Diamond Award each year since 1977. The Tank is a $30 million complex featuring a shark tank, private cabanas and an exhilarating 3-story waterslide.

Tour NYC's Stellar Attractions
Though New York City likely won't sit atop your list of top beach destinations anytime soon, it nonetheless has enough attractions to keep travelers, no matter their age, well-entertained over the course of spring break. Catch a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, photograph the Statue of Liberty, watch a show on Broadway, tour the Museum of Modern Art, spend an afternoon unwinding at Central Park, or delight your palate at one of Chinatown's many fine restaurants. Your options for things to do and places to see are endless. Within walking distance of these attractions is the Belvedere Hotel, an Art Deco style hotel that features a state-of-the-art fitness center and popular Rodizio-style steakhouse, Churrascaria Plataforma. Other notable properties include Affinia Shelburne at Lexington Avenue and the Eastgate Tower Hotel in Murray Hill.

Explore Europe
If you're looking to break out of your usual routine and travel abroad for spring break this year, you'll find a wealth of fun things to do and landmark attractions to gawk at in Europe. Among travelers' favorites: the Louvre and always-striking Eiffel Tower in Paris, the historic Coliseum in Rome, and Museumplein, a spacious square along which four museums are set in art-rich Amsterdam. If you'd rather be doing something a bit more lively, each city hosts tons of exciting events year-round and features plenty of nightclubs, shops, restaurants and sporting venues to suit different tastes. Properties to check out include Villa Eugenie and Tonic Hotel Du Louvre, two of Paris' finest; Hotel Savoy and the Ripa Hotel, two four-star gems in Rome; and Grand Hotel Amrath, a 5-star masterpiece nestled in the historic heart of Amsterdam.

The climate provides a perfect break from colder conditions experienced throughout the United States. The getaway provides a much-needed break from college studies or a family work schedule.

Daytona Beach
This destination is not just for NASCAR fans. Twenty-three miles of beach provide the neutral zone between the ocean and the city. This zone is perfect for guests to meet others while enjoying hotel pricing designed to accommodate the college student's budget.
Dancing, swimming, sun bathing and nightlife draw the crowds and develop the memories at Daytona Beach.

Orlando
Premier attractions await guests in Orlando. From Universal Studios to Disneyworld - from Wet'n Wild to Sea World this town provides the beach and then some.
Orlando has proven to be a great spring break destination for one of the greatest choices in activity during your college holiday. This city is also popular with families who want the most opportunity during a spring holiday.

Clearwater
Located on the 'Gulf' side of Florida this city boasts some of the most pristine and spectacular beaches in Florida. While they may not have as many overall people visiting as other larger cities this may actually be the primary draw of a spring break in Clearwater. The location of attractions in nearby Tampa may allow this to be a destination that actually offers more relaxation when needed while still providing an exceptional spring break atmosphere and experience.

Multiple nearby islands make this as much an adventure as a break from your regular schedule.

Sarasota
This smaller Florida city offers the perfect destination for family spring breaks. Expressing less tolerance for "college students behaving badly" this destination provides its greatest welcome for families. While there are college students who travel to Sarasota the atmosphere is more family oriented and relaxing than other spring break destinations in Florida. That being said we realize the above description will provide the positive tipping point for booking time on the coast in Sarasota for many.

Miami
This city provides a bold welcome to college students who want to visit the beaches of Florida for spring break vacation. Thousands of college students from across the U.S. make their way to South Beach in Miami for entertainment, nightlife and the ability to meet new people.

If you want to tour the Everglades or other natural destinations this is also available during spring break with lodging accommodations designed to fit almost any budget.

On a Budget?
These premier Florida destinations understand the desire to enjoy the dawning of spring - and they understand the financial pressures of both families and students. Most of the above cities will provide an all-inclusive package designed to allow you to plan for your trip while covering all of your primary needs.

A spring break vacation allows you the opportunity to enjoy Florida at a special time of the year with the potential of meeting others who are also determined to make the break a positive next step in finishing the school year.

Come for the sun - stay for the surprises. Return for the experience known as "Florida's Spring Break".

Located off the east coast of the United State, Bermuda enjoys temperate weather and offers a massive range of idyllic pastimes for tourists of all ages. Although often referred to as one island, Bermuda is made up of around 138 islands and islets, with main islands connected by road bridges, and offer a unique experience for travellers. Despite Bermuda's diminutive size and scenic setting, the island provides a wide ranging variety of sightseeing options, so visitors are advised to ensure they bring a camera.

Start off your tour of Bermuda with a trip to the Town of St George, this scenic spot is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is features quaint winding streets and beautiful fountains, gardens and squares. The Bermuda National Trust Museum and the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse are other great places to soak up a little history, the lighthouse also offers spectacular views of the island and surrounding waters from its observation deck - if you can handle the 180-step climb to reach it that is!

The Crystal and Fantasy Caves offer the chance to enjoy some natural wonders as does Spittal Pond, while the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo is sure to dazzle with its 140,000 gallon replica coral reef. The zoo is also home to more than 200 fish and 300 birds, reptiles and mammals. Additional maritime fun can be found at the Bermuda Maritime Museum.

For those who'd prefer to get their feet wet, there's plenty of opportunity to in Bermuda. Paddle on one of Bermuda's distinctive pink sandy beaches such as the Horseshoe Bay Beach, the Snorkel Park and Elbow Beach, and you're sure to feel your day-to-day pressures drift away on the blue waters. Plenty of watersports are on offer for the more adventurous too, from snorkelling to scuba diving.

Bermuda is also a great spot for keen golfers, as it offers a surprising number of golf courses considering its size. If shopping is more your style however, you'll find that Hamilton offers a great selection of stores - on Front Street in Particular.
While the weather in Bermuda is given a quasi-tropical atmosphere by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, the best time to visit is from the spring to Autumn. So make sure you check the expected weather before you book flights to Bermuda to take the best advantage of the island's beautiful sights and experiences.

Here are my top 5 suggestions of things you should see and do whilst in Bergerac, besides soaking in the ambience and atmosphere around its rustic buildings and cobbled streets:

1. Maison de Vins
Literally translating as 'house of wines' it will be no surprise that this museum, housed in a 17th century cloister, charts the history of wine in the region - and the Dordogne region produces some of the worlds finest wines. The museum is free and a self-guided tour culminates in a small gift shop where free wine sampling is available.

2. Bergerac Market
If you are lucky enough to be in Bergerac on a Wednesday or Saturday then you're in for a treat as these are market days. A lively traditional French market pops up around Place Gambetta, selling food, drink, crafts and gifts.

3. Boat trip down the Dordogne
You couldn't possibly visit a town that sits directly on the banks of the Dordogne river and not take to the water. A one hour boat trip down the Dordogne on a traditional boat costs €7.50.

4. Aquarium du Perigord Noir
A great idea for a family day out is a trip to the Aquarium du Perigord Noir, which houses more than six thousand fish, split between thirty different pools. Miniature golf and a picnic area are also available on site so its sure to be a hit with the kids.

5. The Tobacco Museum
Not such a family friendly day out, but enjoyable nonetheless, is the tobacco museum (or to use the French name - Musee d'interet national du Tabac). Spread over three floors, this museum charts the culture, art and history over tobacco over the centuries. Amusingly there is no smoking allowed in the museum.

A number of different James Bond films have used locations in Switzerland over the years including one of the more recent movies, Goldeneye with Pierce Brosnan.

In Gimmelwald is a peak where 'On her Majesty's Secret Service' was shot. There at Schilthorn in the Canton of Berne you will see the scenic location. It was nicknamed Piz Gloria during the making of this Ian Fleming novel. Of course there have been attempts to cash in on the tourist friendly nature of Piz Gloria and there is a James Bond bar here where you can get your martinis, shaken not stirred. The bar rotates and gives excellent 360 views of the surroundings, but only when the weather is obliging. Some people claim that the Bond movie 'On her Majesty's Secret Service' was filmed in the nearby Jungfraujoch but this is not correct. However there are also mountain scenes shot in Switzerland from the James Bond movie A View to a Kill with Roger Moore, Grace Jones and Christopher Walken. Meanwhile the Goldfinger movie was filmed in Geneva at the Furka Pass and the Pilatus Aircraft Factory.

Take a tour of Swiss wine country
Starting at Lavaux you can see the centre of the wine industry in Switzerland. With lots of sunshine and high peaks, Switzerland has decent conditions for growing wine. Situated in the west of Switzerland, Lavaux is on the banks of Lake Geneva in a spectacular location. That is why it has been recognised as a world heritage site which is worthy of protecting. You will need car hire Switzerland to get between the different villages which make up Lavaux. This is infinitely preferable to taking the train though it is also romantic to get the boat along the coast of the lake. For music lovers there are two jazz festivals, one at nearby Montreux and the Cully Jazz festival. The Cully is on at the end of spring and is popular with people from all over Europe. Local wine growers bring their latest vintages to the festival to allow revellers to try.

See Switzerland's biggest mountain, the Matterhorn, a great place for skiing or walking
Zermatt is Switzerland's access point for what is one of the tallest mountains in the Alps. The steep ridges of the Matterhorn have been attractive to climbers over the years, many of whom have tried and failed to scale the summit. The Zermatt graveyard is full of the bodies of climbers who tried and failed to conquer the Matterhorn. Do not attempt to scale it unless you are very experienced and prepared for the consequences. The Matterhorn has since been dramatised in Novels such as 'Murder on the Matterhorn', a 1950's detective novel. Part of the Pennine Alps, Matterhorn gives access to Valais which is where you can find some of the best skiing in Switzerland.

Visit more mountains in the central Bernese Highlands
This stunning part of Switzerland is home to Interlaken, a small city which draws tourists from all over Europe. They are drawn to the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and there is fantastic walking, hiking and swimming here. You can also sail around Lake Thun. The city is easily accessible by car if you take the A8 autoroute. Driving gives you the freedom to see many areas of interest such as the Jungfrau Aletsch Bietschhorn which is a world Heritage site which is glaciated.

It stands at more than 800 metres, or 2625 feet, and has more than 160 stories. This makes it the building with the highest number of stories in the whole world. Not only that, it also holds the world record for the highest occupied floor, highest observation deck, and the tallest service elevator. Its elevator has the longest distance of travel in the world.

Here are the categories by which Burj Dubai was pronounced the highest building in the world. By these, it was measured against all real estate in Dubai and the world.

Architectural Top
It was measured from the lowest pedestrian entrance to the building's architectural top. Architectural top refers to the actual constructed highest point of the building, such as spires. It does not include functional or added equipment such as flagpoles, signs, or functional devices.

From Height to Tip
The measurement is based on the lowest significant entrance to the highest part of the building. This includes anything added on to the building apart from the architectural top. Antennae, functional equipment, and signs are included.

Occupied Floor
The highest occupied floor is measured from the lowest open-air entrance to the highest floor that is consistently occupied, excluding the maintenance areas.

One of the primary attractions of Burj Khalifa is the observation deck. From here, you get the ultimate experience in a high-rise view from the top. No tour of Middle Eastern real estate is complete without a visit to this deck.

The Observation Deck Experience
Starting at the lower ground level of the Dubai mall, you embark on your journey upwards to the 124th floor while watching a multimedia presentation of Dubai's history as well as the wonders and origins of Burj Dubai.

The travelator, which is sixty-five meters long, transports you from the reception area and allows you to view Dubai's history. You will be taken to a strategic viewing point where you can see the Burj Khalifa at its most flattering and impressive angle, where its overwhelming height is framed by a skylight.

You then embark an elevator that travels at the speed of ten metres per second. Glass walls from floor to ceiling showcase a full, unobstructed view of the city and its scenery. At night, the whole thing is fully illuminated. There are also telescopes that give you a time travel feel. You can view pictures of the past, present and future. You can also walk up and down the area if you wish for careful scrutiny. You can even step out into the terrace and enjoy the open air with the most beautiful, sweeping view.

The experience itself is unforgettable, but you might want to take home a souvenir to commemorate it. Fortunately, there is a store At The Top where you can purchase one and show it off to your family and friends.

The entire tour lasts an hour but it is up to you to stretch the time if you wish before going back to base.

1. The Tower of London: The Tower is actually a group of several buildings inside two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat. When you visit this historic fortress, you will discover that it has served as a royal palace, prison, place of torture and execution, armory, arsenal, treasury, zoo, and home of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom.

2. British Museum: Originally established in 1753, the museum now houses a collection of more than seven million objects from around the globe documenting the entire story of human culture. Here you will find such celebrated objects as the Rosetta Stone, the Portland Vase, sculpture from the Parthenon, and drawings from the 14th century to the present.

3. Madame Tussauds: This renowned wax museum will put you face-to-face with some of the most famous persons in the world. You'll encounter figures from the fields of politics, royalty, sports, and showbiz - from Shakespeare to Rooney, from Britney Spears to Her Majesty the Queen. Each figure takes more than 800 hours to create!

4. The London Eye: Also known as the Millenium Wheel, this is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, the third largest in the world, and probably the major feature of the city skyline. The complete ride in one of the 32 sealed, air-conditioned 25-passenger capsules lasts about 30 minutes and provides a truly amazing view of the city!

5. Tate Modern: Housed on the banks of the River Thames, the Tate Modern is Britain's national museum of international contemporary and modern art. Here you can see displays of great works (dating from 1900 onwards) by Picasso, Matisse, Monet, and many other legendary artists.

6. National Gallery: Founded in 1824, the National Gallery displays one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world: more than 2,300 paintings that date from the mid-13th century to 1900. Don't miss your opportunity to marvel at work by Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli, Rembrandt, Turner, and Van Gogh.

7. Trafalgar Square: The fourth most popular tourist attraction on earth, Trafalgar Square has been a central meeting place since the Middle Ages. In addition to Nelson's Column, you will see sculptures, statues, and fountains. The National Gallery is located on one side of the Square.

8. Buckingham Palace: Buckingham Palace (owned by the British state) is the official residence of the Queen. It is also a British symbol, an art gallery, and a tourist attraction. The famous "Changing of the Guard" ceremony is scheduled on specific days and times and takes place in front of the palace. Arrive early and find a good position from which to watch. During the Annual Summer Opening (from late July to September) you can visit the State Rooms of the Palace, which contain some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection.

9. Houses of Parliament: Also known as Westminster Palace, this is the seat of the two houses of Parliament. The building is stunning. Take a walk over Westminster Bridge in order to see the view from the south bank. The famous Big Ben is in the clock tower. During two months of the summer (when Parliament is not sitting), tours are available.

10. Natural History Museum: This museum houses a permanent dinosaur exhibition as well as a collection of the largest and rarest animals in the world. Apart from its large list of world class attractions, Switzerland has a very rich and diverse heritage and traditional customs. Switzerland uses about three different languages including, French, Italian and German. Switzerland is a great vacation destination that has a number of great vacation spots. Once you have all attained all the necessary information, then visiting to Switzerland will be quite easy.

The first thing you need to acquire before travelling to Switzerland will be a valid passport. Based on the country you are travelling from you may need a Visa and if the trip calls for connections through various locations then you may need a Visa for each State. Call your country's Swizz embassy to find out all the needed information for travel. Getting this information will inform you of all the documents you will need in order to travel to Switzerland.

Search the internet and check out all the websites that are able to provide information about airfare tickets being sold to visit Switzerland. Once you access these websites you will be able to get lots of information on price of flights, hotel accommodations. Be sure to visit more than one website so you will be able to match up all the different airfare and hotel prices and deals being offered. The only way to increase your chances of tapping into the best deals is to visit different sites so you can get several quotes to choose from. Most of the websites write reviews on all the spots, and provide pictures of the locations that you may be interested to visit. This will help to give you a clearer picture of what you can look forward to when you visit Switzerland.

If you are looking for some of the best travel packages, you can take a visit to your travel agency. In most instances your travel agency will have the most up to date details on the best and cheapest travel packages going to Switzerland. June, September or October are generally the best time to travel to Switzerland. These seasons are considered to be high seasons, when most of the tourists visit Switzerland from across the world so during these times the country is overcrowded with tourist. High seasons are normally a bit more costly because of the high influx of visitors, so if you are on a low budget and looking to spend a limited amount of funds then during these times will be more suitable for you. You will also have wider options of getting hotel accommodations because you won't have to compete with so many patrons who are searching for hotel rooms.

Get yourself down to the General Post Office (known locally as the GPO) building, which is one of the most significant buildings in Irish history as this is where the 1916 Rising began. You can still see some of the bullet holes in the walls and on the columns of the building - step inside the GPO to view a memorial to those who died in the fighting.

From the GPO, you can take some great snaps of the Spire (that big needle-like structure that reaches far into the sky) and as you make your way to O'Connell Bridge, look out for the sculpture of James Joyce as he leans on his walking stick at the corner of Henry Street.

As you reach O'Connell Bridge (by the way the huge monument at the bottom of O'Connell Street is of Daniel O'Connell) you can enjoy some great views of the River Liffey. Look to your left to check out the Custom House (large white building, green dome), look to your right to view the iconic Ha' Penny Bridge.

Continue onto Westmoreland Street and at end of this street you will have reached the famous College Green area of Dublin city centre. The huge, almost semi-circular building, which stretches around from Westmoreland Street, is the Bank Of Ireland where the old Irish Parliament used to sit. Cross the street and right in front of you, you'll see the black railings of Trinity College where you can go in and wander around the courtyard or even visit the spectacular Book Of Kells.

Continue on towards Grafton Street and stop off to get a picture of yourself standing alongside good old Molly Malone who is still wheeling "her wheelbarrow". Walk to the top of Grafton Street and you'll come to St. Stephens Green. This place is worth just wandering into for a quiet stroll away from the traffic.

Okay, so you might just go over the two hours especially if you're taking a leisurely stroll and stopping off along the way but we reckon it's a pretty good walking tour that'll provide you with some great photo opportunities of Dublin.
