Meet the Pastor Who Cooks With Indian Hemp

The General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church in Owerri, Imo state, Pastor Clement Ezeigbo was recently nabbed by men of the Imo State police Command for his alleged involvement in various kidnappings in the state.

Pastor Ezeigbo, who is currently cooling his heels in the police Anti Kidnap Unit of the state police command, shocked the detectives when a bundle of Indian hemp was found in his church.

However, Ezeigbo told the police that, "I don't know anything about kidnapping but I am the owner of the Indian hemp (Igbo) but the good thing is that I don't smoke it, I use it to prepare my food. I enjoy eating food prepared with Indian hemp. I don't think there is anything wrong when you use Indian hemp to prepare your food; it gives inspiration and it makes one have sober reflection and that is why I recommend it to my Church members. I preach to my members against smoking it but I encourage them to cook their food with hemp.

"Some of my members do prepare some delicacies with it, which they serve me. I love Indian hemp because after eating Indian hemp, it gives me inspiration,
then when I mount the pulpit, you will notice the efficacy of hemp.....Let any man show me where it was written in the bible that thou should not cook with Indian hemp."

Dear readers, at this point, I honestly just find myself totally speechless.

How in the name of God do we settle a matter like this?

I need solutions, it all seems like my world is crashing right before me.
I'm a girl of 28 and I'm in a relationship of about 2 years now.
I work with an insurance company and life has been good until my boyfriend lost his job roughly 10 months ago. And everything changed. I cater for him and myself as well since then.

He continually nags about not having a job despite his applications for a new one. And to be very honest this whole situation sucks life out of me.

So I decided to meet my boss at the office and I asked if he could help in any way. He accepted but requested sex with me and because I felt fed up with my boyfriend's situation, I gave in to sleep with my boss but we'd an agreement that it will be a one time stuff. I was desperate and was willing to sacrifice for my boyfriend.Weeks later my boyfriend got the job and according to the company policy, employees must have a 3 months training before confirmation.

This situation led to my boyfriends being trained at my branch of the company,which is also where my boss that gave him the job works.
Just less than 6 weeks my boss couldn't let me stay for a day without further request for sex and in the process my boyfriend found out the whole thing.

He quit the job instantly and left town without a word. Doesn't take my calls to hear my side of the whole thing.
I feel confused as I've only intended to assist but it's all falling on me now.
I wrote so that I can have a public view and advice on what to do.

Is there a chance or anything I could do to salvage the situation

A prosecution witness on Tuesday told an Abuja Federal High Court that a suspected Boko Haram member, Mustapha Umar, wept bitterly over his failure to die in a suicide mission.

Umar is standing trial for allegedly bombing a plaza housing the offices of some newspapers in Kaduna in April 2012.

The witness, a police detective, said he interrogated Umar after he was arrested in Kaduna and brought to Abuja.

The accused, the detective said, was unhappy because not dying with victims of the attack had denied him the opportunity to make heaven.

The witness was masked, and his name not disclosed, in line with a court order protecting witnesses that testify in terrorism-related trials.

Testifying while being led in evidence by prosecution counsel, Mr. Simon Labaran, the witness narrated how Umar was handed over to him at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, after his arrest in Kaduna on April 26, 2012.

He said, “I was serving in Force CID Area 10, Abuja, as a detective in charge of investigation of terrorism cases.

“On April 26, 2012, the accused person was brought from Kaduna and handed over to me for discreet investigation.

“The accused person was involved in the bombing of ThisDay office (in Kaduna).

“He was always crying because the operation he went for failed, he said that he would have been happier if he had died in the operation with people (victims) so that he would be in heaven.”

The witness informed the court that the suspect made five statements while he was interrogated.

He further told the court that Umar was not tortured before he confessed, adding that he was given medical treatment.

2000 soldiers, fighter jets deployed to Borno state

About 2,000 security operatives and military hardware, including fighter jets have been deployed to Maiduguri ahead of yesterday’s declaration of State of Emergency.

In neighboring Yobe State, it is not clear how many soldiers were deployed but residents said shortly after the declaration of state of emergency, stop and search operations have been intensified in the state capital while movement have been restricted in other places.

Residents said the deployment of the federal troops, including the army, navy, air force and operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) began at the weekend.

“We started sensing danger on Saturday when we saw military trucks conveying soldiers to the Joint Task Force (JTF) headquarters along Pompomari area,” Usman Jika, a resident of Maiduguri said.

“By Sunday morning, so many roadblocks have sprung up in the state capital and there was noticeable cordon and search of houses by new faces (soldiers),” he said.

A resident of Kumshe, one of the red spots in Maiduguri said his neighbour was beaten to pulp on Sunday when soldiers besieged the areas and forced all the people out of their houses.

“All the soldiers that came to the neighborhood appeared new in the town, some of them said it is now time for ‘fire for fire” he said.

Another resident said he saw military aircrafts landing at the Maiduguri International Airport and the air strip at the Air Force base in the state capital.

“A lot of fighting equipment have been deployed to Maiduguri,” Hajja Maimuna, a resident of Gomari, whose house is close to the Air Force base said.

“We are really terrified because the military operatives coming to Maiduguri in the last two days far outnumbered those that came during the previous emergency rule,” she said.

“Even though the state governor has not been removed, which is good, the truth is that Maiduguri is now a garrison town, full of angry soldiers who are ready to kill at the slightest provocation. The deployment will definitely hamper social and economic life of the people,” she said.
