Top Premium Android Apps for less than half a Dollar (25pence)!

2012-09-27T07:57:00.000-07:00

For a limited time, top premium apps in the Google Play store would be going for just
25pence, that's less than 50cents, in celebration of the store reaching 25 billions downloads. Phew!

So if you don't mind, you can get some of those tops apps.

For some reasons, it is limited to a few premium applications, and it would require you to setup a google wallet account for payment.

So head on to Google Play and get the apps you would like to have.
One App to look out for "Asphalt 7: Heat".

I love racing! ツ

BTW.. it was nice not to have anything to say about the iPhone5, and I still have some pending interesting posts. So watch this space.

Testing Siri on the iPhone5 | Video

2012-09-22T07:18:00.001-07:00

So you all should know "Siri". The iPhone assistant commandable by voice. Here is it being put to the test.

See the iphone5 review here

First Hands-on Review iPhone5

2012-09-22T06:54:00.000-07:00

Sturdy. Light. Simple. Beautiful. is the iPhone5. After holding the device for sometime, I began to understand Apple better.
Not everything they have done is right. But they win many points here, taking cue from the psychology of an average human; Good aesthetics would always be appealing.

Handling the world's fastest phone felt good. See pictures from my escapades at the 2 most popular Apple stores in London and a video of siri in action on the iPhone5.

Material and Appearance:
You have to accept the lightness of the device, there is no doubting the high quality materials which was used to build the chasis yet, it's light. The phone felt good to the hand.

Camera:

Fastest I have ever seen. A tweet from me yesterday.

Really fast. you could go. snap, snap, snap without the
slightest pause.

Internet surfing :
webpages loaded pretty well. Nothing really exciting about the browser. It would be nice to have the chrome version installed.. which I think is available already.

Siri:
Siri has become smarter. Amidst all the ambient noise, it was able to tell the Chinese guy there were no theatres around and could find me 15 rails stations around my location at the first try, with a few fails too.

If you have been using the iPhone since the first iPhone then, you would love the iPhone5 better, not necessarily because you are an ardent fan of the iPhone, its could probably be because you have gotten used to most of the native features which has been consistent all through, with incremental improvements at some points, and that's a plus.

Aesthetics has brought the iPhone this far, without having the very best of thoughts going into improving other areas like its functionality. More went into the physical appearance of the phone than the software I would say.

This video kind of tells that. It also faintly highlights the standpoint of iPhone manufacturers.
A phone with more functionalities, but not built to last so long should be preferable to a phone that gives you all that, not as much, but with the all the aesthetics and that social element.

The iPhone5 is a great phone. The new Android devices, Samsung Galaxy s3, etc are great as well. This is obviously not the case with most people, but then, ..
House the android operating system with the iPhone5 Hardware, I tell you friends,
you would experience true smartness.

iPhone5's opening Sales Eve >> Get ready for the iQueue

2012-09-20T13:15:00.000-07:00

So it is Friday the 21st already...and some Apple fan boys and girls are already at camp at the most exquisite Apple stores all over the world. Some already know of the dissapointments they are going to face, like the maps (let's not even go there), but the spell is too strong to break loose from. hehehe #justkiddin.

Just a few hours away till the first sale is made and just see what it's like around the Covent Garden Apple store near Oxford street in London. There are probably a dozen more stores in London, but you can be sure most people would be at the Covent gardens and Regent street stores.

Apple store @ Covent Gardens

If you switch the camera on this page and see inside the bar, I bet more than half of these folks would have their night there.
Those are part of the people that would make up the i-Queue tomorrow.
(The bar is actually empty this moment 9am..21st, Last night, there were loads of people in there)

The Apple store on Regent street couldn't be any better.

Apple store @ Regent street, London.

I have no live feed for that, but I might as well report live from these apple stores.
Watch out for the live stream link on my twitter stream. @tjwizking or check this page by noon time tomorrow.

So keep really calm, stay tuned and bookmark this blog for the techy stuffs you really should know...
Now, didn't I just sound like a journalist. haha. Cheers guys! ツ

!▬Anyone available, let's meet up.

The Apple Spell | iPhone5 sells out in 1 hour.

2012-09-14T11:10:00.001-07:00

Tell me its ordinary

According to sources from Mashable, online pre-orders for the new... (did I just say "the new"..Sorry.) I'll take that again.

According to sources from Mashable, online pre-orders for the iPhone5 :) has sold out. It sold out from its initial inventory in one hour. Yes...! an hour.
So basically Apple has to re-budget..sort of.

While the iPhone4s experienced a record of selling 11 units every second in the first 24 hours, the iPhone5 out sells its initial budget 1 hour after pre-order opens, technically speaking. That's explainable.
Some survey by the source also say 58millions units would be sold this year. I actually doubt that, but heyy!.. it's Apple, who knows.

In other related news, I have observed the reactions from its announcement, which by the way pushed up Apple Inc's stocks at the market, as usual. I have also seen polls of the iPhone5 against the Samsung Galaxy s3, with the later leading. While that may be biased, one thing I have always said stands. The Apple spell.

The Apple spell is real, Apple fan boys/girls are real too. but even more real are Apple Zombies.

But then, we wait for the real deal on the 21st day of Sept.
So keep calm and queue in front of an Apple store.

Have Lovely weekend!

Iphone5 >> | Final Round-up

2012-09-11T02:29:00.000-07:00

Iphone 5 Mockup (images courtesy Mashable+rumourians)

UPDATE: A final round up on what everyone has been able to gather about the iphone5

Video Courtesy: Business Insider

It is the sixth Iphone by Apple and they are keeping the zombies on their toes.

I could remember when the Iphone4s was launched, 7th Oct 2011, barely 2 days after his Steve Jobs death, a lot of us were dissappointed as we were expecting the "5".

Despite that, the iPhone4s sold 11 units every second for the first 24 Hours.
I should think the sales made was a way to pay some homage to the man who thought quite differently.

Then it was time for the Ipad 3. Apple called it "The new Ipad",
but consumers refused, the number 3 has got to be there. I mean.. I would you show-off.
You can't just tell your friends you have a/the new iPad, they could be thinking you have a new first/second generation iPad, plus after 2 years of owning "the new Ipad" would it still be called "the new Ipad".
It just sounds wrong.

Notice the shadow of the 12 looking like a five.

So back to why we are here.
THE IPHONE 5. Too much Buzz I must say. Invites have been sent out for the keynote and some folks say it feels like christmas already. *Sigh* That dude is a Zombie, the apple spell is on him. hehehe.

We expect a couple of other devices to be unveiled at the event, possibly an iPad mini. I would love that..if it is a 7 inched screen.
I just think 7 inches is the perfect size for a tablet.

There have been so many speculations/rumours about Apple's new iPhone.
Amongst the many speculations, a few would lit up my eyes.

4G LTE ..without being technical, its a faster way to access the internet. (Long term evolution)
NFC capabilities. with that we could have "touch to pay/tweet/like....." kind of experience.)
but then only Wednesday the 12th would tell.

As regards the name, Is it gonna be called "The new Iphone", "Iphone6" or the "Iphone5" or something none of us has thought of.
Actually, its gonna be called the "Iphone5". Apple confirmed this, plus we see the "12" cast a "5" shadow.
Does the shadow further confirm the name "iPhone5" ? or does it mean something else, knowing that Apple loves the element of surprise in their keynotes. Again, only tomorrow would tell.

What do you think the 5 shadow means?

GM Box ► Play your media files right from Google Drive

2012-09-10T14:42:00.001-07:00

The cloud storage war isn't over yet.
Actually, between Dropbox and Google Drive, it is hard to tell who is kicking 'behide' .

But hold up... here comes GM Box, a google drive service that lets you play your media files straight from the cloud.
Remember you have 5GB free once you own a google account. All you need do is go to Google drive to activate it if you haven't.

Supported file types:

Your regular media file would work (.mp3), .WAV, .AAC (<-iPod's, iTune's.. format)
and for videos:
Avi, Mp4, Mpeg, ogg...... pretty much all media files supported by html5.

Check out the service here
and of course share your experience in comment section.
One last thing.. get on Dropbox ツ.

App of the moment >> TVCatchup: Watch Free TV on your Mobile

2012-09-06T03:52:00.000-07:00

App of the moment: TVCatchup

Not exactly a fan of television.. besides, I hear some TV shows are commencing new seasons soon. So if you don't mind missing anything.. get your mobile phones, tablets and cameras (<--yes, Android Cameras are out) on a "all you can eat" data plan and Grab TVCatchup for Android users and i-users (Iphone and Ipad).

It verifies your Internet Service Provider, so I suppose not all networks would be allowed. Probably those outside the uk.
It's restricted to the freeview channels only. But hey.. over 50 channels isn't bad.

Images courtesy tvcatchup.com

Thumbs up:
App runs pretty smooth.
Good picture quality.
Good Channel Navigation.

Thumbs down:
Its Free so watch out for ads when switching channels and anytime.
App did not provide an option to update itself, says my current version is out of date, and I should get the latest. That's a bad one.

Rating : 7 stars of 10

Do you use the app already?, are you gonna get it? What do you think?
Please, drop your comments and share.

Have a chilled day!

I think I'm moving to sony

2012-09-03T23:02:00.000-07:00

Vaio Rox!

I think I'm moving to Sony.
So subtle and cool.

Having used a vaio pc for 3 years, I think Sony has earned my trust, It doesn't matter If I had to change my board after 2 years (of HEAVY usage..Sigh), plus I know they have a name, but then, they just earned my trust.

For a While, I didn't realize this same sony made Smart phones and Tablets, like I did not REALIZE. I mean,! I see and read about these things almost everyday.
The times they first came out with that rubbish tablet, but its sony, they learnt and have come up with better designs for tablets.

Yeah.. I remember now. I was utterly dissapointed in that rubbish (Sony S1), so I guess that put me off. For a while.

The phones. This has been very low keyed.. Like Qatar, no noise but things happen.

Please don't even compare shots from a sony smartphone with the likes of ..whatever. My point here exactly: The shots are great, HD, viewable on your large screened tv and bla bla.

So I just think Sony should be it for me. Just there, no noise, moves on.. like a boss.

I should think my time with the Korean guys is up. Though I should have to do a review of a new toy.

lol... doest that sound coded.. for the average reader. I mean, I would have to tell you,
Korean guys = Samsung
Toy = New gadget.

So yeah.. was just reviewing some piece of work, and I suddenly just hit "WINDOWS key + R", "NOTEPAD" and Enter....very fast.. (my shortcut to open notepad ) and started typing this post which is my first on this new blog.

The old blog is tsusk.wordpress.com if you care.
The new one (tsusk.blogspot.com).. TSUSK = Techy stuffs you should know.
I would move all posts from the old one to the new so you all can read up insightful tech stuffs way back, far as 2010.

~So come on here every once in a while and read up cool tech stuff cooked up for the average and below the average user and users above the average :).
That didn't go quite well.

Anyways, Next post shall be a vlog (video blog).

its 06:34 on a Tuesday Morning.
Have a great day indeed. ayo.
