Effective Diet without Compromising Your Health

It is so difficult to lose weight. That's one fact that anyone who has tried every means possible to shed those extra pounds will definitely agree. And I am sure some of us did a crash diet at least once. In the end, we just find ourselves giving up because it does not only make us irritable and weak but it also makes us crave for food even more.

The main purpose why we go on diet is to lose weight and make us feel good about ourselves. But most of the time, the diet plan that we use either does not help us achieve anything or we might lose just a few pounds but after a few days or weeks, gain all of them back or worse, twice as much as what we've lost. Most of us even combine their diet plans with exercise which should be the best way but without proper nutrition, you will not even have enough stamina to go to the gym.

There is, however, another way to help lose weight without food deprivation that has gained popularity and that is HCG diet. HCG is a hormone produced by placenta during pregnancy. Its weight loss effect was discovered by a British physician, Dr. Simeon in mid-1950's while treating patients with pituitary problems. For weight loss program, it given either orally or through injection.

HCG does not only help you lose weight but also help you maintain it through self-discipline. After all, in order for it to work, it will require restricted diet. Hence, the success of this diet will depend on you and how you follow your diet plan thus giving you a chance to practice self-discipline when it comes to eating. Once you're off the restricted diet, that self-discipline will help you in maintaining your new weight.

One of the things that people look forward to during Christmas season is the shopping spree. If you notice, malls are usually packed with shoppers going from one boutique to another. But for someone like me who usually works at night and sleeps during the day, I prefer to do my shopping online. One of the things that women worry about is weight gain. We have heard some women complain about how they can't seem to get rid of the extra bulges no matter what weight loss program they try or what slimming pills they take. The sad part is that most of these slimming pills have side-effects. Some of them dries your skin, makes you lose your appetite which in turn could lead to headache if you don't eat but worse are the side effects that might put your life in danger.

My father always makes sure we have bananas available at home so I got used to eating at least one banana “finger” a day.

REVIEW: Red is Marose

This is a blog review entry for Yuuki's Twin Blogversary Contest.

Red is Marose is Marose’ (or better known as redamethyst to her online friends) personal blog where she writes all about her “simple life in a world that rocks”.

Since it is a personal blog, the topics range from diet pills to blog memes. Just like any other personal blogs, it is about anything under the sun.

The layout is in a combination of red, gray and yellow with header picture of a girl with a guitar which is explained by its tagline “Simple Pero Rock”. It has 3 columns which houses the common elements in a blog in an orderly manner. The loading time is relatively fast which means you’ll easily find them.

More than anything else, what caught my attention was the “Novena to God’s Love” at the upper part of the sidebar which denotes that the author is a religious person and who would put God first before anything.

REVIEW: The Tsinay Writes

This is a blog review entry for Yuuki's Twin Blogversary Contest.

Sam is someone I know who will say what she thinks and this is where she put them. As the title suggests, The Tsinay Writes (The Not So Random Thoughts of a Not So Random Tsinay) is all about a Chinese-Filipina lady’s opinion on just about anything and in almost everything.

The layout is a combination of pastel pink (yay!) and green and if you look at the header picture, you’ll see a “tsinay” looking back at you. The layout was personally made by the author and it is neatly created that you’d think it was done by a professional web designer (and she claimed she didn’t have any formal training! That makes her a smart and very creative girl, right?). Sam is a member of several bloggers’ group which you can see neatly organized at the far right sidebar of her website. The fact that it only has limited number of advertisement made it load really fast which makes blog hopping a pleasant experience.

I just love Pantene's Total Care products. I have very long hair (~~sorry I don't have picture right now)~~ and the ends tend to break. There was a certain product that I was scared of letting go because at that time it was the only thing that worked for me. Just recently, my mom bought Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner so I tried it and I'm really happy with the result - my hair is now much softer.

*I'm supposed to upload a picture. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't want to cooperate.

Heeled Shoes - Need Help

My shoes finally gave in. So I really really need a pair of shoes to wear during workdays (Monday to Thursday) or whenever we are required to come in to work in business attire. But I need something that I can also wear on Thursdays and Sundays to church.

I'm not really the type who enjoys walking in the mall and checking every single boutique just to look for shoes (Sometimes I wonder if I'm really a girl *just kidding*). In fact, I'd rather shop for bags, pants and tees than shop for shoes. Also don't have any idea of the new designs nowadays.

I'm hoping to get some suggestions from those who are shoe-addicts (if there's even such a word) *lol*

Spanking New Styles Just Came In! - by David and Goliath

I'm more comfortable wearing t-shirts than blouses so when I got an email from David & Goliath, I got excited when I saw their new styles. Although statement tees have been around for a long time, what caught my attention was the colorful designs (and yes the pink shirt since I love pink) and the vintage looking jackets that looks really cool especially for someone like me who works in a call center (with a freezing working environment) but doesn't want to look like she's wearing an office uniform. The designs were unique and simple and that's exactly my type of shirts.

Bazaar became a popular event in the Philippines especially to small entrepreneurs who want to showcase and market their products and services. These events are usually visited by shoppers who wants to get the best gift for Christmas with lesser cost than those being sold in malls.

One of the most popular bazaar in Metro Manila - South is the St. James the Great Bazaar yearly held at the Cuenca Community Center and St. James Parking Lot in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa. Most bazaaristas usually reserve a space as early as July simply because they usually are filled up/taken by September. This year, the bazaar will open on November 27, 2009.
