1) Aside from reading, I like to play the ukulele in my spare time :) (I should point out that I'm not the best player. I just do it for fun:D)

2) I love mango salad.

3) I drink a glass of red wine every night.

4) I'm trying to teach myself Latin....in case, you know, I time-travel back to ancient Rome. Admittedly, I'm not learning as fast as I used to.

5) I love Miley Cyrus' look, especially the one below when she attended the MET Gala this year.

5 Things I Can't Live Without (Blogger edition)

These are the things I find necessary to do this blog, y'all:)

1) camera
This Canon S95 is a great point-and-shoot, with so many features. I usually take my photos in the Auto setting, but this has full manual control and can take shallow depth-of-field (bokeh).

2) desktop computer (where all the magic is written...bwahaha)

3) phone (where I do almost everything, and also used to take pics when I forget my camera)

4) RCMA foundation (to make me look less scary- BEST FOUNDATION EVER)

5) Tim Horton's coffee (to survive the day)

My middle child had his First Communion yesterday. This is one of the most important events in our religion, so to celebrate, we had a small luncheon at home before the actual mass. (To see my eldest's First Communion last year, click here.)

It's a mixed bag, everyone:)

1) I had my birthday the first week of April, and this was the cake I requested- Caramel Crunch. If you guys have not had this, you are missing out! Best.Cake.Ever. Thank you to my sister-in-law, L, for buying this:)

2) Pixi Beauty Bronze Sculpt Trio

This is great for contouring and highlighting, and also very pigmented. I've been using this a lot, and have barely made a dent.

3) Worwood's The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy

I've been interested in aromatherapy since about 2001, and have read many books on the topic. To this day, this book is still the bible when it comes to the subject. It's very detailed and has great non-toxic recipes for almost everything you need around the house. I've been using this book a lot again lately:)

(Suggestion: Lavender oil should be in everyone's house.)

My copy is falling apart!

4) Yankee Candles

I just recently started buying them, and I'm obsessed. (Yes. I know I'm behind the times.:P)

This smells divine:)

5) This song is the best mash-up ever....EVER! I first heard of it in the movie Just Go With It starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. I've been listening to it ever since....

And there you have it...stuff I've been really loving lately. I've written this before, but please...do share what you've been liking lately as well.

Because we have been complaining over here that spring is taking its time, Mother Nature listened and brought in the rain....but at least, for now, I can wear my lighter jacket (although I think it may get cold again the next few days...sigh).

The perfect nude

If you love (or even just slightly interested in) makeup, then you'll understand when I say that the quest for the perfect nude lipstick can seem like an uphill battle most days. Finding that illusive beauty item that will suit your complexion and not look like a dead person seem so hard. The only real solution is to try them out in person, and to keep trying until you find THE ONE.

For the longest time, my perfect nude lipstick has been MAC's Fresh Brew. I was obsessed with this lipstick that it felt like cheating when I would try to find another one.

Alas, I think Fresh Brew has been replaced not just by one but by two lipsticks, and cheap ones at that!

These Essence lipsticks cost $2.49 Cdn each...awesome, right? Best of all, they have a creamy texture, and does not have a funky taste which some brands unfortunately have.

To add a bit more shine, I put on top this Essence gloss in Nude Kiss, which I believe costs $2.99Cdn.

Essence is a German brand, but you can find them in Canada in Shoppers Drug Mart. In the US, I believe they're available in Ulta.

Easter, to me, always signals the beginning of spring no matter what the current weather is like (aside from the religious significance, obviously:P). To celebrate, I did my nails in this pastel colour, which I normally don't wear but I think is quite spring-y/Easter-y:)
