I made a faux Gumball machine.

when you run out of candy a gentle reminder that you need "More kisses" :)

I just used some mini sticker letters that I had in my stash.

I made this out of a clay flower pot and saucer, fish bowl some flat back pearls and pearl trim.

Painted it. Glued a doily to cover the hole in the bottom of the pot.

Glued the felt flowers and the vintage flowers at the top and at the bottom

I'm giving this to my girlfriend so she can set it on her desk at work. Her Birthday is next month :)

I got this recipe from a co worker whenever I make this Salsa everyone
goes crazy! Its so good you can almost eat it with a spoon, lol and it's so easy to make.

1-2 bunches Green Onions -sliced thinly

6-8 Roma tomatoes - chopped

2 bunches Radishes - minced

1/8 to 1/4 of a bunch Cilantro -chopped finely

4-8 Serrano Chili's -8 depends on hot you want it, chopped

4-6 Avocados -chopped

1-2 lg cans Tomato sauce (I usually use one)

1 cup Water

Garlic salt to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. It makes a big bowl of salsa. The bowl in the pictures is just about 1/4 of what this recipe makes. I little hint; I've actually chopped the cilantro, radishes, serrano chilies in my food processor. Serve with Chips. If you make it let me know what you think. Enjoy!

It's 2015!

Wow! I can't believe that it's January 4th! December flew by. So much has happened Since the last time I was here. I'll share a few events that happened...

Our annual christmas cookie party. My Mom. sister and I have hosted this party for a few years now. There were 10 Bakers this year. We have Prizes for Best Cookie, Best packaging and Best Table Presentation.

it was a cherry layered shortbread

Best Packaging was a tie.

The first one is this.

Look how cute the snow globes are. She used a gold fish bowl on top of a paper round box... how clever!

The Second one that tied was me! I made the bags from scratch.

I also made the JOY sign. Below I'll have a tutorial for you.

Here is how I made the JOY sign.

I used my explore to cut the chipboard.

Let me tell you that the explore cut the chipboard like BUTTER!

I cut the moss to fir the letters

I added the moss to the chipboard with hot glue gun

I love the way it came out. I added light to the letters last minute.

I remembered that I had bought a 20 light string at the dollar store.

I made all kinds of cards and tags for my gifts

I unexpectedly got a new job! A friend out of the blew asked me if I would be interested in watching her children. I excepted the Nanny job. Three days a week. It's been such a joy. I'm loving it. It has thrown my world in a spin with the holidays, having my girls home and everything else. so needless to say I've just been a little crazy plus we leave to Hawaii on Saturday for a week!

I'm planning on sharing some of the crafty things I did last month. I hope you can stop by soon.

An After Thanksgiving Recipe

Hello There, I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving. Enjoyed your family and friends. I sure did even though our oldest daughter couldn't join us this year (her first year away) and of course we missed my dad but I know he was with us. There is a lot to be grateful for.

It's been a while since I shared a recipe with you all. With all the turkey left over I thought I would make Turkey pot pies. They came out really good so I thought I would share the recipe in case you has left over turkey too and wanted to they something new.

I had never made this before so I turned to my old trusted cookbook

"The New Doubleday Cookbook"

This book had every recipe you ever wanted to make. I love the waffle recipe and this booked

helped me cook my first Turkey (some 30 years ago) and I can say that I have alway had my turkeys come out moist.

Chicken or Turkey Pot Pie

6 servings (I only got 3 out of this recipe)

1/4 cup butter or margarine

6 tablespoons flour

1 cup milk

2 cup chicken broth

3 cups bit-size cooked chicken or turkey meat

1/4 teaspoon rosemary

1/4 teaspoon savory

1 tablespoon minced parsley

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon peper

2 cups cooked carrots; thinly sliced

2 cups cooked peas

1 box(2 inside box) Pie Crust (i used Pillsbury Pastry Pie Shell Crust)

1 egg yolk mixed with a tablespoon of water.

preheat oven 450 degrees. Melt butter in large pan over moderate heat, blend in flour, add milk, and broth, and heat, stirring until thickened. add chicken and all seasoning, cover and simmer 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool to room temperature. Mix in carrots and peas and spoon into 5" aluminum pot pie tins. I lined it with the pie crust. I used the plastic cover that come with the tins to make the circle and lined the inside of the tins. I used the extras pie crust to lay over the top and I pierce the top of the pie crust and brushed with the yolk mixture making sure not to cover the piercing. Place in oven for 30-40 mins.

note: I changed it a bit. I didn't have the rosemary or the savory so I added onion and garlic powder and celery salt to taste. This recipe has you put the meat mixture in a casserole dish instead of the pot pie tins. My family really liked them. you can see I was being a bit artsy with one of the tops, lol I could help myself.

Some Snowman Card

Hello, I feel like I'm skipping Thanksgiving only two days away and I haven't made anything. Yikes and I do need to make a few things like the name place setting. Yikes, I need to do that today!
I made these cards for my college peeps in sending care packages next week. I used the new Anna Griffin's Christmas Kitsch Cricut cartridge. I do like this cartridge's vintage vibe. Hence this cute 4.5" snowman.

I used a 1/2 of kraft paper dolly from Michaels. I really fell in love with these.

Im a sucker for dollies!

The enamel dots are from the DIY Christmas line by Simple Stories

the Holly & Berry pick is from Hobby Lobby.

I stitched around the whole card in black ink.

I attached the snowman with a Action Wobbles

Hello, today I'm sharing a project that I'm loving to put together.

These letter are 12" made of paper mache. I painted the back, sides and a 1/4 from the edge with antique white.

I used Teresa Collins Christmas line for 2013 Santa's List

Tim Holtz Rosette die and from Hobby Lobby the Holly and Berries.

I used some flair buttons that were given to me. Mini pinecones which I love, I cut the pennant from the a Sizzex die, I mentions a few blog post ago.

I also used some Heidi Swapp stuff from the Believe line

I'm working on one project similar to this one that I'm making a kit to sell. My first attempt, cross your finger it goes well.

I would like to invite you to Like my Facebook Page, I thought it made sense to post all my projects there for easy access! Yikes I feel a bit stressed about it. I'm hoping it keeps me accountable. I guess this empty nester is filling up her time, LOL

How is it November 15th?

I can't believe that it's the 15th! Half way through the month! It didn't help that I was away for 5 of those days. Crafting with a friend in Palm Springs, Ca. It's our yearly thing with do. it's usually with other friends but this year we were the only two that could get away. We stay up until 3:00 working on stuff and laughing, eating and just enjoying each other company. I am so grateful for my crafty friends. It really has helped me get out of my funk. We were having so much fun we didn't take any pictures of us. I did remember to take a picture of my work spot that I sat at for those days. I did get lots done and it really got me charged up for the holidays. This was my last get away for the year. I have one planned for February 2015 Which will be the first one for 2015. Do you go away to craft?

Today I will like to share a couple of cards that I made. I used the Heidi Swap Christmas Line from last year called Believe by Pink Paisley

Happy Halloween!

Hello There! It's Halloween, the Chili is in the crock pot, corn bread in the oven and the candy is ready to be given out. For me this is the beginning of the holiday season. I love the kids all dressed up and so excited. I like giving treats out and seeing all the costumes. I made this cute treat box for a friend. I think it came out so cute. I'm also entering it over on a FB page called Artober being hosted by Angela Holt. It's been so much fun all month long. She has had challenges, a bingo game, lots of giveaways. This is the project I'm entering in the the treat box challenge.

I used Tim Holtz trees but you could use the green bottle trees and bleach them. I did a tutorial on this process here. I used a chipboard round box, glittered the "ground" with distress black soot glitter by Tim Holtz. The sprays I used are the Ranger Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions spray in Tangerine Dream and Lemon Zest. I like these sprays for their brightness. I also used the Tim Holtz die called Halloween Shadow, I used the bats, the sign and the fence behind the rosette: the mini rosette die.

I think this makes a lovely Halloween Treat Box and decoration for future Halloweens.

Faux Taxidermy

Hello There! I can't believe it's one day to Halloween. Boy this year has flown by. I know for me from now to the end of the year time really flies with all the to does. Though I'm thinking if might be a bit different since it's my first year as an empty nester.

I have two more Halloween Projects I want to share with you. Today I have this fun Faux Taxidermy Project. I got the idea from an online class call Spark the Event by Just a Girl, Margie. These are themed events, she has loads of Ideas in the 3 part videos that she does. The next one she is doing is called Spark your Christmas. I have taken most of them. my favorites are the Halloween, christmas and Valentines. She does do a summer one too. What I like is how she uses Items from the dollar store, Targets & Michael's dollar bins, stuff you might all ready have or it only cost a few dollars like my project here:

I'll share a tutorial on how I made this. The platter and the crow are from the Dollar Tree

The Paper is from the line Haunted Hallows by Teresa Collins, it's been in my Halloween stash. I traces my finger on the paper so that I could get the shape of the platter onto the paper. I thought I wanted the platter shiny but I changed my mind and painted it with black gesso.

Then I made my crepe paper rosette. The crepe paper is from Target. It was a roll of a halloween paper streamer. I also punch a circle 2 3/4" out of black cardstock

I added some adhesive with my ATG gun and gathered the crepe paper around the circle.

Like so. I added it to the platter in the center then I cut the crow just where the legs where. I did removed the legs first.

I hot glued the crow onto the platter at this point.

I made the hat by cutting the punch out circle 2 3/4" in have and hot glue into a cone. I has a fringe tissue paper that I glued to the cone hat.

I cut some paper rosettes using my Tim Holts dies. I use the Large and Mini Rosette dies. I used a bit of seam binding to make the bow, a few mini black and orange roses, some mini paper spiders and some large sequins on top of the rosettes.

and here is the finish piece again.

Hello There! I made a few Halloween cards I would like to share with you all. I sent them to my daughters and a few college student in my life plus a few halloween goodies.

The first care packages I've sent out this school year.

Yikes...a little late I usually send the first one in september.

this next one is inspired from a Pinterest card I found.

These next two are from a set of 4 that I made in a Stampin' Up club that I'm in.

We meet once a month. I've been in the group since the first of this year it nice to have cards ready when I need them.

Empty Nester...

Hello there! It's been a OVER YEAR since my last post. So much has happened in the past year but the most recent is that I'm an empty nester...well both my husband and I. I have been a SAHM since my 3rd trimester of my first born. I always knew this day would come but I didn't know how fast. In August my youngest (our 2nd daughter) started college. Thank goodness she is only about 20 miles away. This has been the toughest transition that I have ever gone through in my life. Not only did my youngest move out of the house, My dad passed in May which has been difficult, I lost my job, so needless to say many changes in my life right now and I'm thinking focusing on my little blog might be what I need to do! So, I join a group on Facebook and I'm hoping it keeps in accountable with regularly posting on my blog. Halloween is a favorite holiday. Ok, all holidays are my favorite.

I really like to make things for Halloween and Christmas.

This project is my first one for this season.

I actually made it into a class. I had a few friends that liked it so much that they asked me to make it into a kit. So you might see a christmas one as a kit/class

I decide to do a layout of my two daughter with the paper flower and the floral paper.

I used Glitz Cashmere Dame Floral, and Dame Chevron some Bazzil card stock in turquoise & raspberry.

I used doilies. The turquoise flowers are from the donna downey and the pink one are from Karla001 and the baby pink roses are from prima.

The sisters title plus the boarder under the white lace I cut on the Silhouette Cameo

On the 3 photos I used the photo layover from Crate Paper. I just love these I might need to get me some more.

Graduation 2013

I'm hoping everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer. Around here there are many things going on, Graduations, year end functions at school, planning a bridal shower for my Godson and his new bride to be and just starting to plan out our summer plus I'll be announcing on Wednesday some exciting news regarding my blog so please stop by again in 2days.
My oldest daughter Mckenzie just graduated from the University of San Francisco, we are very proud of her she finished in 3 years! It's a bit of mixed emotions for me. She is only 20 and she decided to stay in SF so we got her all set up in her new "home" a room in a home that will become a Co-op living house. There are 3 girls at the moment, eventually there will be 6 total. I just met the girls and I really like them. So, I know she will make a home there and start her new life. I have been feeling like a chapter has closed and a new one is starting for all of us. Lately I've been reflecting on when the girls were young children and I have to say I really miss those days. I have one more year with Kennedy, she will be a senior next year and I know it's going to go by fast because it's seem that last year in school is always a busy one. So my plan is to savor every bit of next year because my nest will become empty before I know it.

I made Mckenzie a graduation card using my Cameo my second project since I got it in april. I really like how it came out and she also liked it. Letting me I should sell them, lol

From the Silhouette store the file I used is of this Girl and the 2013 just click on the links and it will take you the the files directly. The Congratulations, I welded together in the studio and the font that I used is called Marker Felt its on my computer.

I sewed the Congratulations onto cardstock with the sewing machine. I also used a corner chomper from We r Memory Keepers the stub/deco one. I did use foam dots the the girl and the the year to pop them up.

I also made this frame for her. Sorry for the bad picture it was taken at the last minute before we left out the door. I used the cameo to cut the little title.

I made a Birthday card for my daughter's friend. I like to make 6x6 cards.

I get the envelopes from stamping up. Does anyone know who also might carry them?

The pattern paper is from a 6x6 pad Pretty Party from Crate Paper

the back ground is Party Guest and the Streamers (green)

The stamp is from Hero Arts 3 Silhouettes I traced around the girl with a glitter pen.

I caved and got myself a Cameo!

It was my birthday on the 25th and I decided to get it for myself, LOL

I'm so excited to finally have one. I'm getting the hang of it...I still like

my cricut (won't be getting rid of it)

This was my first project with it. I cut the Happy with Cake Stand Crate Paper

and the Birthday with some glitter paper. The Happy Birthday phrase is from the Silhouette online store all the cuts are 50% off for a few days. You can't beat .50 cents for this phrase, lol

Behind the Birthday letter is some washi tape.

The crystal flower, green button, doily, seam binding and the manila tag are from my stash.
