Rarely do the people of this Haryana town know that the chief queen of the greatest ever Indian Emporoer Ashoka the Great belonged to this place. She was a Buddhist and this Stupa was supposed to be built by her or her family. She was one of the main reasons of Ashoka converting to Buddhism. Alas, the history seems to be lost. This Buddhist Stupa has now got associated with Mahabharat character Jarasandh.
